She’s my nemesis. My prisoner. I‘ll make her beg for mercy.I’ll make her scream my name. I’ll make her mine.Sheena Hurston’s been a thorn in my side for years. But when she tries to bring my family to ruin, I’m done playing games. She will pay for what she’s done. No one comes before my family. Sheena belongs to me.
OMG…this book was a masterpiece in. It’s the first book I’ve read by author Jane Henry but I will be purchasing more of her books. This is Book Three of the Dangerous Dom series. Nolan is the youngest of the McCarthy brothers. This book tells the story of Nolan McCarthy and reporter Sheena Hurston. This book was five amazing stars, super hot and steamy, had an original storyline, lots of kink and domination, lots of action and adventure, and romance. This author was brilliant writing this book and I highly recommend.
We get the baby of the clan who hadn’t been treated as harshly as his brothers growing up and now has to prove to the family that he’s a man ready to take his rightful place in the family. Sheena is mired in her tragic past and believes that the McCarthy’s are the cause of her tragedy. She takes actions against the McCarthy’s that force Nolan to take her in hand and mete out punishment. Nolan doesn’t know why she hates his family but when he finds out he makes sure that her and her family learn the truth. Can Nolan save Sheena from herself and her family from the consequences of her actions? You’ll have to pick up a copy and find out for yourself. I would definitely recommend this book as well as the previous two books in this AMAZING series as each book is better than the next! I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
Super sexy and amazingly sweet!
This story is really beautiful, sweet and very steamy! Nolan and Sheena’s story is really lovely but full of emotional ups and downs. These two were truly meant for each other. They have such fantastic chemistry and passion. The push and pull between them makes for a highly entertaining story. There were many times that they had me laughing out loud and other times when they brought tears to my eyes. There is a lot for them to work through before they can have the kind of relationship that they both crave.
This story is another thrilling and intense rollercoaster ride with lots of twists and turns throughout keeping us readers captivated and highly entertained from beginning to end. I enjoyed everything about it and I can’t wait to read the next story. Highly recommend.
NOLAN by Jane Henry
I still don’t know how she does it, but Jane Henry can tell such good stories, and NOLAN is very good! I have a “book boyfriend” named Nick, but Nolan is a very, very close second. Nolan is tough but soft, loyal, firm but loving, and once he decides to do something, he does it. I loved this book because of the relationship interactions and the character qualities that were so plausible in today’s society. I also loved this book because of the love of the family. Looking forward to the next book in this great Irish Mafia series. Thanks, Jane, for another great read!
I loved this! I liked that the conflict did not stay the same throughout the story, but that once the first main conflict was solved, there were other issues to deal with. I loved Sheena’s fire, her loyalty to her siblings, and Nolan’s desire for Sheena. Their steamy scenes were hot, but what was even better was Sheena finally opening herself up to love. Nolan was such a sweetheart with her family, too, and as another reviewer pointed out, I wouldn’t mind a romance between Fiona and a certain someone, once she gets older! I like how Tiernan was treated by the Clan members, too, and that Nolan’s mam was so softhearted towards the kids. Basically I loved everything about this book, and will definitely go back and read the ones about Keenan and Cormac, even though it doesn’t hurt at all to read this one by itself. They are interlocking standalones.
This is a really beautiful story. Nolan and Sheena are a delight. I love all the other characters as well. This is an epic journey for Nolan. One he deserves. The writing and flow of this book is top notch. I absolutely recommend this book and series.
I think all of the readers of the McCarthy Family Irish Mafia Stories knew that Nolan’s story was going to be different from his brothers stories. And it was. Nolan and Sheena were the quintessential Enemies to lovers couple. She wants revenge for her father’s death that she believes the McCarthys caused. Her plan is to write a story that will destroy everything Nolan’s family has built. When she finds out the truth, can she redeem herself and find a better life for her 2 brothers and sister. Nolan, like his brothers, loves to dominate and control and he finds himself in love with Sheena. This book has twists, turns, intense chemistry, and crazy steamy fun. I loved all these boys, but Nolan might be my favorite. You can read all three books for free with your KU Subscription. They are all great reads.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
We’re back with the McCarthy Clan, and the youngest brother. He’s straightened up his act from his younger days of drinking and being wild, and is quite a force in the clan. He’s tasked with dealing with a voracious reporter, Sheena, who’s been after them for awhile. Someone he’s had dealings with before, that might get under his skin in more ways than one. For her part, she’s still trying to nail the family, spying and trying to bring them down. Nolan is her target, and he too seems to get under her skin in more ways then one. When they end up connecting, it’s explosive. And definitely takes a turn neither of them see coming. But you’re going to love it!!!
An Investigative Reporter & A Reformed Man = Another McCarthy Love Story
Nolan is the third and latest book in the Dark Irish Mafia Romance Series by Jane Henry. Nolan is the youngest brother in the McCarthy Clan. He is put in charge of dealing with the investigative reporter Sheena who has a vendetta against the McCarthy Clan. Nolan is trying to help his family take him seriously and is now sober. Nolan loves kink and uses these methods to get information from Sheena. Sheena is a feisty and independent woman. She has and continues to handle many tough situations in her life, but she has a vulnerable side as well and always willing to make sacrifices for the ones she loves. Sheena enjoys the punishments that Nolan gives her, but continues to be a firecracker with lots of sass. Sheena has many secrets that she is hidden from Nolan. He starts to care for Sheena and feels protective of her. Nolan and Sheena have a strong connection, sizzling chemistry, and are attracted to each other from the start.
Nolan is a must-read story with well-developed characters. Jane Henry gives the readers an emotional and incredible story. It is a unique story with a family that you want to know more about. Jane Henry’s story will keep you captivated from the first page to the very end. Nolan has suspense, danger, steamy scenes with kink & BDSM, loyalty, and love of family. I hope that there are more stories coming soon for the secondary characters. I love Nolan’s story and highly recommend it.
5 Stars
Nolan was as heartbreaking as it was good.
Great story. Wonderful characters.
Can not wait for the next book.
I read an advanced copy of this book
I really enjoyed Sheena and Nolan’s story. This is the third in the series (Keenan and Cormac being the first two) and while I always recommend reading in order, it is not necessary although there are situations referred to that have happened in those stories. Sheena is all about the revenge. Believing that the McCarthy’s are responsible for her father’s death, she sets out to destroy them. Nolan is the baby of the family, a former screw-up and a disappointment. But their collision in life may just be the impetus needed to set matters straight. Nolan asks her a question part way through the story that really summarizes the theme: “What do you think I am, a monster?” Her reply: “Sometimes, yes.”
Intense and Sizzling! This book captured me from page 1 to the very end. I love strong Irish men and this book has plenty. Nolan McCarthy, of the Irish Mob, and Sheena an investigative reporter go head to head in this story. She is after him and his entire family. He is after her to see what she is about and why she is after his family. There were so many emotions happening throughout the book, I loved it! And the steamy, sex was scorching!
I really enjoyed this book, even when I had to put it down, I was still thinking about it. The characters were fantastic, and the play between them was good. I also enjoyed the interaction with the wider family and will definitely be reading Keenan and Cormac. You don’t need to read the books in order, reading Nolan first made sense in it’s own right whilst not ruining the other two stories. Focus was on the relationship more than sex which made for a romantic story. 5 stars from me.
He’s the youngest son of the McCarthy Clan. He was a disappointment for years, with his partying and drinking. He went to rehab and cleaned up his life. Unfortunately, his father didn’t get to meet the reformed Nolan. Now he’s the third in line to run The Clan and he is gaining the respect he deserves. When he’s tasked with getting information from a reporter that is trying to destroy The Clan his world will get turned upside down. He has no idea what’s in store for him and how his life will change, but he knows that when his brother, Keenan, the head of The Clan tells him to get answers, he better do it.
Sheena is a woman on a vendetta and her goal is to bring down the family that killed her father. She’s a reporter who is using her job to help her bring them down. She will to all lengths to get the information she wants. Her main goal besides the vendetta is to take care of her younger siblings since their mother won’t do it and puts them in more danger than they should be in. When Nolan McCarthy takes her to The Clan mansion she thinks that she is in control of what will happen and that she will be able to walk away with no problem, but when problems beyond her control come to light and the truth comes out, will she walk away or stay.
I really enjoyed Sheena and Nolan’s story. There is heat, danger, and the chance for the both of them to show their real selves. Sheena does not come from the same world and Nolan and she is ashamed of where she does come from, but Nolan doesn’t show any contempt for that towards Sheena, he is only interested in stopping her from ruining his family. When the truth about everything comes out, there is more danger, but these two will have to put their trust into each other so they can survive and live their lives. If you like stories of women who act tough and are willing to sacrifice things for those they love, Mafia, Doms, or stories of family, then you will enjoy Nolan. I loved it and I give it a 4.5-star review. I look forward to more with these characters. I love the way the men of The Clan are with each other, they are family by choice as well as blood.
Sheena is an investigative reporter who blames the McCarthy Clan for the death of her father. His death ultimately lead to the breakdown of her family. Nolan is second inline to take over the McCarthy Clan behind his brother Keenan. When he wants to rejoin the Clan after recovering from alcoholism, Keenan wants proof and sends him on a mission to discover what Sheena is up to.
I really enjoyed Nolan and Sheena’s story. It was well-written with interesting characters and a storyline that had action, violence, drama, mystery, obedience, submission, passion/lust, steam and love. Highly recommend!
I received an advanced readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
I enjoyed this book. Nolan and Sheena’s story is jam-packed with intense emotions, tension, drama, action, suspense and steam. Nolan has kind of been a work in progress over the course of this series and he finally has his life in order and in my opinion, turned into a very swoon worthy hero. As for Sheena, I admit I was not a fan at the start of this book and it took me a while to warm up to her. She simply had a tendency to grate on my nerves. When all was said and done though I did like these two as a couple. There are some very intriguing secondary characters (particularly Sheena’s siblings). I am posting a frank, freely posted review.
Nolan has always been a bit of a trouble maker, needed rehab for his alcohol abuse, always felt like the black sheep of the family, never living up to the Clan’s expectations, but he has pulled himself together and is now clean and sober, stepping into the boots he was always meant to fill.
He’s given the task of taking the troublesome reporter, Sheena, in hand. He’s dealt with her before (which if you’ve read the previous books in this series you will know about), so he is again given the opportunity to sort her out before matters get serious and the townspeople get riled up and turn on the Clan.
So Nolan captures her and brings her back home for punishment and questioning, the Clan way! He wants to know why she is after his family and turning the townsfolk against them. They have always had an underlying connection, but now he is dealing out the punishment and she is taking it and loving it so well, he finds himself caring for her and wanting to protect her.
Sheena has a personal grudge against the Clan and is determined to get her revenge. She is willing to do anything and everything to achieve this, despite her attraction to Nolan. She has secrets and personal baggage, people she is trying to protect, but it seems the longer she spends time with the Clan the more unsure she is of just what she really knows.
I enjoyed this one, how Sheena submits to Nolan yet is still full of fire and sass, how hard she works to protect her little family. Nolan has really matured in this one and steps up beautifully to protect what is his and bring his new family into the Clan. A good story line full of drama and suspense, hot sexy scenes with some lovely kinky BDSM, as well as showing how strong family love and loyalty are to this McCarthy Clan. Highly recommended reading.
Breathtaking passion, promise, and suspense, NOLAN is your next MUST-READ!
If you haven’t read any of author Jane Henry’s Dark Irish Mafia Romances, then please start with NOLAN, her latest release. While those who have long been fans of this amazingly talented author can attest, Ms. Henry’s writing weaves a web around her readers’ hearts and minds. Even so, this third book of Ms. Henry’s Dark Irish Mafia Romances is IMPRESSIVE! NOLAN not only weaves the tale of Sheena, the investigative reporter, and Nolan, the youngest of the McCarthy brothers and reformed wild child of the Clan; it also solidifies the setting, defines the term family, and gives insight in how the daily life of this clan is centered on love. However, NOLAN is no mere “enemy to lover” love story. That is too simplistic a description, so I will give you Ms. Henry’s own words; “But love and hate are so closely entwined both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide.” What causes and results from that collision is something readers must unveil themselves. For NOLAN is a promise of the most stellar love story, a promise born of hardship distrust and forgiveness, and the recognition that in living life Nolan and Sheena have become EVERYTHING to each other. Once again, it is so difficult to describe the perfection of this love story, for it can only be found in the images pictured by author Henry’s poetic narration and how the realism makes both the complex plotlines and one’s investment in the characters akin to breathing. So, if a sign of greatness is one where readers loathe leaving its world at the story’s end, then NOLAN is a GREAT READ! As advertised NOLAN is dark, kinky, and at times explicit, but both are so a part of the story’s telling they are enough for the warning – only readers 18 and above need apply. There are a couple of spoilers if you start the series with this third book, but since all of Jane Henry’s books end with the promise of a happy ever after, the spoilers are less likely to keep one from reading Keenan and Cormac. Once you have experienced a novel written by author Jane Henry, had a taste of the world she has built around the McCarthy Clan, and have seen that the magic is not merely in the knowledge that a couple is together but in the experience of HOW that came about, you’ll be purchasing the first two novels . . . You have my word on it. While I leaped at the opportunity to read an early copy of NOLAN and then immediately put in my pre-order, I am voluntarily reviewing and awarding t NOLAN this 5+STAR rating with the addendum; NOLAN has earned more stars and really should be your next romance purchase! Get your copy of NOLAN today! Happy pages!
I cannot get enough of these Irishmen!!!
Sheena has been trouble for McCarthy Clan for a while now. She’s an investigative reporter that has latched onto the Clan and refuses to let go. She’s about to find herself deeper than she had ever planned.
Nolan has been tasked to take care of the Sheena problem, but he’s already had his eye on her for a while now…how much of a problem is she truly?
Sheena and Nolan are a power couple! These two are phenomenal together, the push and pull, the true beauty of a strong woman giving her full submission to a deserving man. Sheena’s siblings truly stole my heart.
I can’t wait for the next book!
Jane Henry’s “Nolan” is book 3 in her Dark Irish Mafia Romance series and I have to confess, this is currently my favorite. If you’ve been reading the series from the beginning, then you know that Nolan has gone through a transition. He’s grown up and is now being taken seriously as a Brother, one of The Clan. But there’s a bit of a problem. The McCarthys have a bit of a thorn in their side from none other than investigative journalist, Sheena Hurston. And since I’m sure this isn’t your first Jane Henry novel, you know that sparks will fly and boy do they.
I’m enjoying this series as a whole. There are so many aspects to it that I could point out—from the character development, to the McCarthy family dynamics, reading how the brothers transform as they fall in love and learn what really matters to them, the new additions to The Clan (the wives) are all amazing characters who are completely enamored by their spouses. Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out all the romantic-sexy bits. In “Nolan”, there’s a bit of kink (mild but fun), so if that bothers you, then you may not want to read it, but for me, it helped bring out the characters.
