She’s my nemesis. My prisoner. I‘ll make her beg for mercy.I’ll make her scream my name. I’ll make her mine.Sheena Hurston’s been a thorn in my side for years. But when she tries to bring my family to ruin, I’m done playing games. She will pay for what she’s done. No one comes before my family. Sheena belongs to me.
Have you been following the “Dangerous Doms” series? If so, then you’re like me and have been anticipating the release of “Nolan”. This one just made my stomach clench and my heart melt. Nolan has been the one son that has gone through so much personally with burying himself in drink and becoming irresponsible and a disappointment to his family and clan. He’s worked hard to overcome those obstacles and prove himself to be an asset. Now it’s put to the test when he’s given the job of finding Sheena and getting answers. For me, this was a powerful story I could relate to. Not so much the mafia part but the pull of loyalties and the battle to overcome a shortcoming. This one pulled me in for one reason and just won’t let go for another. What a great story and now I’m antsy wanting “Carson”.
SINCE MY BROTHER TOOK HER AS HIS OWN
One thing I can always say, Ms. Jane Henry never disappoints with her writing, bigger than life characters, and scenarios. What a third great story to this new series, Dangerous Doms, and with it, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The story keeps the pages turning with a powerful, dominant man, Nolan, youngest son of the McCarthy Clan, and while he has a past that included drinking to excess. Still, he has changed, and now he is also a man who is willing to step up and prove he is responsible—for the good of the clan. Then there is Sheena Hurston, a nosy reporter who has caused trouble for the McCarthy clan in the past, but she has stirred the pot lately, having the locals questioning the McCarthy Clan.
“She’s a drug, that woman, beautiful and dangerous, her mission in life is to bring us down.”
The plot will have Keenan instructing Nolan to deal with Sheena and learn as much as he can about what she is doing and why. For some time now, there has been this love-hate relationship between Sheena and Nolan—but it is going to escalate, and she will become his prisoner. The chemistry between these two is like oil and water, but oh my goodness, when you throw in the erotic spiciness and shake them up, it’s like a fantastic dressing all blending together.
“Hate’s just the start of a relationship,” Cormac says with a smirk. “A very good start, and one you can work with.”
The story is full of mystery, suspense, secrets, control, passion, and power. Nolan and the McCarthy family will learn more of her past, and with the past comes three innocent siblings, Tiernan, Fiona, and Sam—a crappy, useless mother, and a rival clan, the O’Gregors. Having a prisoner is one thing, but when the lives of innocent children are involved, the McCarthy clan will take a stand, bring them in and protect them.
“She’s the most beautiful, dangerous enemy we have.”
The more Nolan and Sheena are together, the closer they become. When it comes to their love of kink, they are on the same page—and both have a loyalty to their families. So, where does that leave them? Will Sheena learn the truth about the death of her father, and what she has believed all these years was a lie? How will the McCarthy Clan trust her after her vicious attacks in the papers—and can she correct them and make amends?
“Love and hate are so closely entwined, both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide. I hated the man I thought he was. I’m in love with the man he really is.”
“Lass, I won’t ever lie to you. You’re a hard woman to love, Sheena Hurston. You need someone willing to break down the fortress you keep yourself in. This is no rescue, doll. This is a plundering. Ravaging. Taking home the spoils of war.”
The story is an action-packed adventure that takes the reader inside the Irish Mafia and how they operate. It includes strong, feisty women, who support the men they love, accept that they must step back, and allow them to conduct business and not ask questions. It is power, control, dominance, discipline, and clan loyalty that ties this tale all together. There is excellent erotic and kink filled chemistry between Nolan and Sheena. He loves to dominate and she gets all melty with submission.
“It’s a different world, isn’t it? I say. “Facing the same things today as we did yesterday, only now we do it together.”
The story does depict scenes of violence, explicit discipline, and the sex scenes are consensual. I don’t know where this series will take us, and while there is no cliffhanger, I think some characters mentioned may segue into the next story.
Oh Wow! Loved this book! This third book in the series is about baby brother, Nolan. He has become more responsible since he sobered up but is still the wildest of the bunch. He is tasked with handling the pesky reporter, Sheena, who is intent on bringing the McCarthy Clan down. She is again taken as prisoner by Nolan who uses his dominance as a way of questioning and taming Sheena. This is a weakness for Sheena as is her sister and two brothers, one of which is a baby. When her family is threatened by their alcoholic mother and boyfriend, Nolan and Sheena have decisions to make. It was great seeing Nolan grow up. There are secrets to be learned, a rival clan threatens everyone, some hot dominant steam and promises made.
I was looking for something to listen to between book reviews and came across this one. And let me say the audible sample of Nolan stole my heart. I love an Irish accent and bought it straight away.
This is a hate to love story with Sheena trying to get information to expose the McCarthy family. As they are the Irish mafia and control a lot of people and organizations, exposing them could put them and their families in a lot of danger. And it could get Sheena killed.
I found that I really liked this story and felt the heartbreak and pain for both Sheena and her siblings. I can not wait to go back and read the other books in this series.
This is a first for me from this author and I look forward to listening to more in this series because that accent is sexy and let’s not forget that cover, it is HOT!
Nolan: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance
Dangerous Doms, Book 3
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
I always think the hero I am listening to currently is my favorite and in this case, hands down, Nolan definitely is. The underdog and youngest of the McCarthy family, Nolan proves to be quite the man! Sheena has been trying to track down information regarding the McCarthy Empire and their criminal wrongdoings for years. Nolan has been given the task of reining her in. But these two don’t know what they are in for. Not only is she a handful, but his way of dealing with things may not be too much for her to handle. These two are definitely meant for each other. Nolan is nurturing but does not need to coddle Sheena. She is very independent, raising her siblings, and does not constant attention. The addition of Sheena’s siblings is wonderful, and the interaction with Nolan brings out a side that most doms don’t show. What really sticks with me about this installment of the series is the closeness that Sheena and Nolan have. The trust they have built and the love shines through all their issues and really pulls the story together for me. With the secrets and power struggles revealed, it gives the action some softness. Plus it’s always fun to catch up with the characters from the previous stories. I enjoyed this and can’t wait for Carson.
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross shine in this production. Their Irish brogue is phenomenal. The two have such a variety of voices and now add the Irish accent to them and it’s mindblowing! I love it! Bring on the next one!

I was so lucky the author gifted me with a copy of all three books in the Dangerous Dom’s series and I thoroughly enjoyed them. This is an excellent read. The story is about Nolan and Sheena. The story is romantic yet also drama filled and a bit of a rollercoaster. You don’t always see what’s coming. The pair couldn’t be matched better, the author gave us so much passion and chemistry between them. This story has all the feels, and many giggles as well. I loved the unexpected twists and found it to be quite compelling. Captivating as well as compelling.
Nolan was a great read with two flawed characters. They have amazing chemistry. Their scenes were humorous because of the amazing dialogue but they were also intense with a palpable attraction which lead to some incredibly steamy scenes. A wonderful addition to the series. Reading the previous books isn’t totally necessary but I recommend it because of information in this book gives some details away for the previous books. Plus the previous books are well worth the read.
I am loving this series very much!! I enjoy a good Mafia story and this series has all the best ones around. Nolan of course is the younger brother of the McCarthy Family. So he gets outed to deal with the investigative reporter, who don’t know, has a vendetta against the McCarthy Family. Enter Sheena, the investigative reporter. She is not your every day meek girl, she is independent and will not take anything lying down. Nolan leans toward a kinky side and tries to get information out of Sheena any way he can. These two together have great chemistry and I enjoyed reading all the scenes they had together. I would say that she sassed him just to receive his punishments. Can’t say I would blame her.
So Nolan is the latest release in the Dangerous Doms series and it is just as engaging and cant put down as the others. I am addicted to family series, because I am close to my family, I enjoy reading family series. Add in the mafia theme and I am a huge fan. I would highly recommend this series.
Oh, Nolan, I love you. There is just no other way to say it. Nolan is the misunderstood character that you have read about in the last two books. Nolan has had quite a story when you bring all three books together and pay attention to him. Now that we have his book your heart will beat and bleed for him.
Nolan and Sheena have been going back and forth for a while now. You kind of wanted them to be the couple for this book, but at the same time had no idea if that was what was going to happen. Who knew that these two were totally made for each other.
Sheena has had a reason for everything she has done in the past couple of books. The McCarthy’s are to blame for her family’s misfortune and she will see justice. But Nolan is determined to find out why she is after them and to protector her at the same time. Little does he know what he is getting into.
Any and all Jane Henry books are excellent. This is the third Dangerous Doms book and it is wonderful as are the others in the series.
Oh, how I waited for this story! The 3rd book in this series, Nolan is – naturally – the 3rd and youngest McCarthy brother. The family’s been through a lot in just the first 2 books, so I was eager to see how things would go. Nolan’s come a long way since the first book (“Keenan”). He’s left his hard-drinking ways behind him, and worked hard to earn his brother’s respect.
I think that of the 3 books, the dialog in “Nolan” struck me as most natural. I was also struck by the delicious Enemies-to-Lovers aspect of this tale:
“But love and hate are so closely entwined, both friends on the spectrum of passion. Sometimes all it takes is one tiny action to make the two collide.”
So eloquent.
Keenan is the quintessential charming party boy who’s trying to turn over a new leaf; Sheena’s a driven, focused woman, intent on justice – or revenge – dedicated to protecting her family while she does anything and everything to achieve her goal. Ah, a match made in heaven!
Highly recommend this book, and was so excited to receive an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. The sparks between Nolan and Sheena are red-hot, and there’s an interesting dash of suspense in the plot as well. You won’t be disappointed.
First I fell in love with Keenan, then it was Cormac. But they have nothing on Nolan! What a story! It’s dirty, delicious, intriguing and just perfect. Nolan is the youngest brother and has been tasked with taking control of Sheena. She’s an investigative reporter who is definitely a spitfire and is determined to make the McCarthy’s lives miserable until Nolan steps in. These two have incredible chemistry that will make your fingers burn as you turn the pages. Sheena has her reasons for what she is doing and as you read it all comes to light.
I love mafia stories and especially when it’s about Irish mafia. The McCarthy’s are a strong family who uphold the laws of the Clan and Brotherhood. It’s proven in this story about how Nolan wants to prove to them that he has changed and can be a leader. You will fall in love with both Nolan and Sheena and will root for them to end up together, just like I did. Please do yourself a favor and read this book!!
I have been thoroughly enjoying Jane Henry’s dark Irish series. Nolan was definitely another good addition. As the youngest of the McCarthy brothers he has a difficult place in the brotherhood. He has made mistakes but has been working hard to redeem himself with his brothers. If you have not read the previous books in the series I do recommend reading them first because Sheena, Nolan’s love interest has been making appearances throughout. She has her own history with the Irish mafia and let it be said that there is no love lost. So what happens when a dominant mafia heir falls for a woman who craves dominance as well as a desire to destroy his family? A battle of the wills! Like the other books in the series, Nolan is told from dual POV and features dominance, desire, deceit, anger, angst and eventually love. It is a great way to escape every day reality on the shores of Ireland.
Nolan and Sheena have been on a collision course for a while and when it finally happens bamm!!
This author has woven quite the irish mafia series, each story does have overlapping characters but the attention is definitely on the main couple. There is sex and punishment, danger and desire and conflict on many levels, yet the author has showcased the humanity of these characters that shines thru even in there darker world.
Nolan and Sheena have such a connection, even when they are ostensibly on opposite sides. It’s like they always know when the other is around, no matter what. It was really nice.
I think that Nolan felt like he needed to prove himself to his older brothers, but I think that who he really was trying to prove himself was to himself, but I think hat Sheena helped him with that. I think that Tiernan helped him with that too.
Sheena is such a strong character. She also is really independent, which causes some problems, because she doesn’t always ask questions or find out the situation before she jumps.
I can’t wait for more in this series.
Omg Jane Henry just keeps getting better I absolutely loved Nolan I couldn’t put it down another sexy must read ….
Nolan is the third book in the Dangerous Doms series, but could be read as a stand alone. There are references to the previous books and relationships, though. Nolan and Sheena have a volatile relationship, but since she’s spreading discord about his family, it’s Nolan’s job now to tame her. But Sheena has more layers than he ever expected and Nolan has more heart than she could have imagined. When their passion starts turning into more, will Nolan and his brothers save Sheena before it’s too late?
Oh my goodness, there is so much angst, chemistry, tension, suspense, and I could feel my heart pounding and was practically sitting on the edge of my seat! After about chapter two, I was completely hooked, haha! I never knew quite what to think of Sheena in the beginning, as she was just as conflicted about her feelings of Nolan, his family, and the “business” they needed to conduct. One minute she’s playing a part and a game, but the next, she’s a fierce protector with a major soft spot for her siblings. But I loved her towards the end of the book! Nolan was just as conflicted with his feelings towards Sheena, but I loved that while he was trying to prove himself, he also stood up for what he believed in! They were a fascinating couple with a hatred that burned brightly into passion and eventually love! I loved getting to see more into the inner dealings of this mafia brotherhood and some of the code that they all live by, but my favorite parts of this series is just seeing the heart behind the mafia man and how things change as they find the woman to love, and this book was no exception!
This is the latest book in the Dangerous Doms series but idon’t let this put you off reading this book which can easily be read as a standalone. For those of you who are familiar with the series, this is the story of Nolan & Sheena, both of who where side players in previous stories, most notably Cormac. I thought that I’d have trouble getting into this story as I found Sheena particularly unlikable to start, but as we’re given more insight into her mind she starts to become a more sympathetic character. I loved Nolan and the struggle he faces daily with his past life choices and how this affects his current mindset. I’m not overly fond of the whole mafia sub genre of romantic fiction but I enjoyed this read. I think I enjoyed some of the side characters just as much as the main leads, to be honest, so I’d love to see more of them in the future. My only complaint is that Cormac and Sheena seemed to go from hate to love super quick, which left me with a bit of whiplash.
This is the third book in the series and I started with it. I loved Nolan and Sheena, following how started to trust each other to fall in love when all the lies and misunderstandings are cleared up. The addition of the three kids is great. I could read with no issues as this is a stand alone story with in a series but I am now going to go read the first 2 books in this series just so I can know what’s happened in Keenan and Cormacs story’s. Jane Henry did not disappoint with this story or this series.
Boring
