A red-hot forbidden romance! Indulge in this ultra sexy best friend’s brother delight! Some women are just forbidden.Like—off the top of my head—MY SISTER’S LIFE-LONG BEST FRIEND.Sis has made it patently clear that Vanessa is hands-off, as in keep my ladies’ man paws far away from her clever, go-getter best friend who’s ready for the real deal. That should be an easy guideline to follow, except … guideline to follow, except Vanessa is deliciously flirty, easy to talk to, and laughs at my jokes. Translation – my libido has been craving her many, many years. So many that we might have stolen a kiss or two.
Can you say pent-up, crazy, raw desire?
That’s exactly what we’re both feeling when the storm of the century hits and it’s 10 inches of snow with Vanessa and me trapped in a cabin all night long…
The trouble is—Vanessa isn’t interested in my playboy ways, and I have one night to convince her that I’m the real deal.

Oh man, I could hardly put this one down once I got started! Nobody Does It Better is a novella and the third book in the Lucky In Love series. This can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor first. Not only are they both fantastic reads, but that’s where we are first introduced to Vanessa and Shaw, the two leads in this book. They have been dancing around their attraction to one another for years, but unable to act on it due to her best friend Perri who is also Shaw’s sister. Now they are finally getting their own story, and let me just say, it was so worth the wait!
Nobody Does It Better is a sexy, sweet, delicious, and forbidden best friend’s sister romance. Vanessa and Shaw were amazing. These two had me cracking up, and wiping tears off my face. I loved the electric chemistry, the laugh out loud back and forth banter and the smoking hot sexy times! The two of them together absolutely burned up the pages. It was also great catching up with Gabe, Arden, Perri and Derek again. And those old ladies from the book club were downright hysterical in playing the roles of matchmakers.
All in all, I have really enjoyed this series and getting to know all of these characters. This book is very well written with just the right mix of humor, heart and heart. If you’re looking for a quick, steamy and entertaining read, then I would highly recommend this one. It’s the perfect book to spend your afternoon getting lost in. 5 Deliciously Decadent Stars!
Nobody does it better than Lauren Blakely when it comes to a sweet, sexy and smart little love story! I knew Shaw and Vanessa just had to find a way to each other after getting glimpses of their life long crushes on each other in The Feel Good Factor. And I was not disappointed.
This book is fast-paced and yet their romance is slow to get off the ground. But once they find themselves alone at last with no interruptions by Perri, Shaw’s sister and Vanessa’s best friend, all bets are off. And they make the most of their time in a snow-covered secluded cabin where all their long-held feelings can finally be said.
Shaw and Vanessa are perfect together, just like all of the Blakely couples before them. And this book, of course, includes wonderful secondary characters including a trio of book loving women who are determined to find every single person their match, all the while enjoying wonderfully bawdy thoughts. They stole the show more than once and I loved that they had a few chapters via text to themselves. I do hope we see more of them in the future.
For that easy-going love story that is guaranteed to make you smile broadly, grab Nobody Does it Better. It is worthy of a solid 5 stars and will make you all kinds of happy.
4 “Nobody does it better than us” stars!
Vanessa and Shaw are here!! Ever since I felt the sexual tension and sizzling chemistry between these two in The Feel Good Factor I couldn’t want to get my hands on their story. And it did not disappoint. A forbidden, friends-to-lovers romance that is smokin’ hot and, oh, so sweet, Nobody Does it Better is a great addition to the Lucky in Love series!!
Vanessa is off limits. Perri has warned her brother, Shaw, away from her best friend and so far, he has been successful in keeping his feelings in check. However, little does he know that Vanessa’s harbors a secret interest in him too. When Vanessa and Shaw are snowed in at the cabin for a weekend, sparks fly and lines cross, and nothing will ever be the same.
Nobody Does it Better is so much fun. I liked both Shaw and Vanessa from the moment I met them. Shaw is funny and easy going. He is a protective older brother who is a great guy. He takes his sister’s feelings into consideration and tries to keep his promise to never pursue Vanessa. However, Vanessa is unique, fun, and has a fantastic personality. She’s got her own retro style and isn’t afraid to be herself, and it is easy to see why Shaw liked her. After the years of pent up tension, there’re was just no denying the connection they share when they are stuck together, all alone in the middle of nowhere.
“Most of the time, there’s a built-in barrier between us. A sex blockade in the presence of other people. I haven’t been alone with him in ages, and that’s made it easy, relatively speaking, to ignore the ache inside me.Now that it’s only the two of us, my want is like a parrot on my shoulder, squawking, demanding crackers. Yes, Polly, I want a Shaw cracker too.”
I love that this novella is written in dual POVs. I was great getting into both their heads and really knowing how they feel. Vanessa wants the real deal and Shaw likes the ladies so I was curious to see how Shaw was going to change. I loved his growth and self-discovery as he realized how deep his feeling run. And Vanessa didn’t back down when she had the chance to she what was really happening beteen them.
Vanessa and Shaw are great together. Their banter is playful and flirty, they know how to steam up the pages, and they have so much good in their hearts. They go with the flow and when things blow up, it’s not because of them. The drama is external and they handle it well. They are honest and vulnerable, and committed.
And then there was the little twist that was icing on the cake!! I loved the way things played out!
Overall, Nobody Does it Better is a fun sexy novella about a fun sexy couple. It’s a fantastic little gem that is sure you make you smile.
4.5*
Nobody Does it Better may be the shortest book in the Lucky in Love series but it ended up being my favorite. Vanessa and Shaw are so perfect together, I’m glad they didn’t let things drag out between them for too long. Well, I guess “too long” is a relative term, considering it did take them YEARS to finally acknowledge what they’d been fighting! But when they did, lord have mercy!
Funny, sweet, and sexy, Shaw and Vanessa’s story hit all the right buttons!
Nobody Does It Better is more novella in length compared to its two predecessors, Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor, but it’s got every bit of that rom-com goodness that the full-length novels had. I liked that hint of a twist with the falling-for-my-sibling’s-best-friend–which could also be falling-for-my-best-friend’s-sibling–what with Perri, Shaw’s sister, being the one to make it clear that Shaw was to stay away from Vanessa. It had nothing to do with Shaw being a bad guy but more to do with what many saw as his reputation as a guy who got around…A LOT. But you see, he’s had a thing for one girl and one girl only ever since they were in high school and that’s none other than Vanessa. And hey, it’s a very mutual thing going on, and all it takes is a snowstorm to give them a push.
Lauren Blakely never fails to create main characters that make it impossible for me to not like them at the very least. I’ve liked Shaw and Vanessa from the moment they were first introduced, but reading their story made me fall in love with them. These two had chemistry, but they were also saddled with a whole lot of guilt since they had feelings for each other but then the Perri factor was constantly stalling any progress they’d make. Sure, I’ve read other books before that have had used the same trope and I’ve come across stories that have had the main characters trapped somewhere due to some force of nature, but there’s something about Blakely’s writing that makes everything all the more charming and endearing. I adored the romance and the passion as well as the friendship Shaw and Vanessa shared, making for a fun quickie of a read. I’m giving Nobody Does It Better five stars.
Fun, Sexy and flirty are just three words to describe Nobody Does it Better by Lauren Blakely. Nobody Does it Better is third book in the Lucky in Love series and my absolute favorite genre, best friends sister.
Vanessa and Shaw will have you literally laughing out loud and wiping away happy tears, the chemistry and banter is off the charts! Although this novella is part of a series it can be read as a standalone, but why do that when the first two books were just as amazing?
I can’t say enough how much I love Lauren Blakely’s stories, for me she is most definitely one of my go to authors! Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
4.5 stars
Yessss! I have been waiting for Shaw and Vanessa’s love story since Best Laid Plans and of course Lauren Blakely did not disappoint. This sweet novella made me so dang happy. I didn’t want it to end. Although it’s a short story, it doesn’t lack anything. It has the right amount of humor and heat mixed with Lauren Blakely’s classic and brilliant dialogue. I loved it!
I complete fell for both Shaw and Vanessa! These two have been crushing on each other for so long, it created amazing tension throughout the series. I loved their flirty banter, their undeniable chemistry and their sexy times. They were everything!
Sometimes you just need a heart happy, low angst, sexy romance like Nobody Does It Better. I highly recommend picking this book up immediately.
I couldn’t wait to read Shaw and Vanessa’s book, and I was so not disappointed! It was everything I knew it would be…sweet, funny, sexy AF and all the things in between.
Friends to Lovers is one of my favorite troupes, because they know each other, sometimes most of their lives, so when they start to feel that attraction, but deny it, the tension only builds, and builds. Especially when it’s forbidden! Perri didn’t want her brother daring her best friend, threatened him repeatedly actually, which only made Shaw push down his feelings for Vanessa. I knew sooner or later they would combust! And combust they did, in epic Lauren fashion.
Loved every minute of it!
Lauren Blakely wow’s me AGAIN!!! It’s no surprise that we get everything from this novella that we would from a full length novel. Her words are golden, she’s the master of all the feels, nobody does it better than Lauren Blakely!!! Short, snappy, sexy and sweet, Shaw and Vanessa’s story is ohhh so satisfying.
I feel like I’ve grown to love Shaw and Vanessa through the last 2 books of the Lucky in Love series. Vanessa is best friend with Perri and Perri’s brother, Shaw, have been destined to be matched up from the beginning. Waiting for their turn, was like leaving the last little bow to wrap up the series. I’m incredibly happy, and excited for each of these couples. It was awesome to revisit Perri and Derek and Arden and Gabe. They are some of my favorite couples from LB’s books.
Nobody Does It Better may be short and sweet, but it satisfied my sweet tooth until the next LB adventure. Shaw and Vanessa are perfection in their own love story. I can’t wait for everyone to devour this book.
Vanessa and Shaw score big in Nobody Does it Better by Lauren Blakely. This book was thrilling and fun to read. A whole lot of chemistry going on with this forbidden romance. I loved that it was the best friends sister trope. These characters were fun to visit and I fell for them all. You will laugh at their banter, blush with all the hotness, and fall for this Novella! This Must Read will be a perfect read to unwind with!
4.5 Stars for Nobody Does it Better which is a sweet entertaining read, we first meet Vanessa and Shaw in Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor and I was so excited to see they got their own book and their own HEA . This maybe a quick read but this novella certainly packs a punch and rest assured it can be read as a stand-alone.
Shaw is a fire fighter who happens to be the complete package, he is hot and swoon worthy, he has charisma and a great sense of humour but he is also Vanessa’s best friends brother so that should put her off limits. Vanessa owns the local bowling alley and she has managed to hide her feelings for Shaw until now but where does that leave her friendship with Perri now lines have been crossed and Shaw and Vanessa have finally admitted their feelings for each other…..
I loved everything about this quick read, I loved the characters the story and the banter that flowed between these guys. This book has all the feels you would expect in a full length novel, you will smile, you will laugh and I’m sure a some point you will sigh all in all a great read from this very talented author who really knows how to give us exactly what we want with her adorable characters.
Nobody Does It Better by Lauren Blakely
This book has been so ridiculously anticipated especially after The Feel Good Factor that I read – no devoured – it in a matter of hours.
Vanessa is off-limits to Shaw and the prohibition has been firmly put in place by Perri, Shaw’s sister and Vanessa’s best friend. As much as Perri loves Shaw, she thinks he’s a player and isn’t good enough for her bestie. Understandable but a bit sad, really, given that both Vanessa and Shaw have deep feelings for each other that have been simmering for quite some time! In any event, give these two a snowstorm and they will use it to their advantage.
I loved it. Every damn word. I loved the realness of their relationship and the slow burn that’s been building up over the years and last two books. I loved the corny, cheesy jokes from Shaw that had me both chuckling and rolling my eyes. I loved Vanessa’s flirtatiousness and willingness to lay it all out. All in all, I thought this book was a fantastic forbidden RomCom and the multiple viewpoints enhanced my enjoyment hugely! Another winner from Blakely and I can’t wait to see what she’ll give us next.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

Baby, you’re the best!
That is Shaw to all of you who have yet to fall in love with him. He has a heart of gold, even if his corny jokes are sometimes too corny. He is the gorgeous hunk of love who has kept his feelings for Vanessa quiet all these years. Can you blame him? His sister Perri has promised to castrate him if he so much as gets close to her bestie. But love has a way to conquer all! It only took a few inches of snow and an isolated cabin to change it all.
Amusing and steamy, this novella will tuck at hearts. Not to be missed!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Forbidden love between a girl and her best friends brother. We met and fell for Vanessa during Best Laid Plans and The Feelgood Factor. Vanessa is the fun loving friend that runs the bowling alley and dresses in vintage 1950s clothing. Vanessa is in love with her best friend Perri’s brother Shaw. Shaw is a firefighter in the wonderful little town of Lucky Falls and the hot Shaw loves the ladies. His sister has forbid him to date her friend, threatened to do damage to his male parts if he did so Shaw may have the hots for Vanessa but there is no way he is going to act on those feelings. That is until there is a chance Vanessa will belong to someone else. The Book Club ladies are plotting to set her up with one of their step sons and there is no way Shaw is letting that happen. Game on.
I love the characters in this town. This is book 3 in this series and I loved their story. Shaw is funny and full of silly jokes. Vanessa is sweet and I love her backstory as well. The Book Club ladies are hilarious and I hope I am like them at their age. Love them. So much love with these friends and this town it makes me want to live there. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it.
I fell in love with both Vanessa and Shaw in Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor and now it’s finally their turn to find their happily ever after. Squeeeeee!!!! Nobody Does it Better is a standalone novella that is interconnected with the above-mentioned stories. Prior reading is not necessary but there are some spoilers so I recommend reading the others first because they are AWESOME! But if you want to start here, feel free to jump on into Nobody Does it Better and then go back after to read the others.
I adored all of the characters in this book (well the entire series really). Shaw is extremely personable and funny. I picture him as the class clown who loves to joke around and make everyone around him feel good. As a sexy, hero firefighter, he will do anything for his family and his friends. He’s basically the All-American good guy and he’s been harboring secret feelings for his sister’s best friend for years. Vanessa is a successful business owner who looks like a 50’s pinup girl. She’s sexy and fun and has been harboring secret feelings for her best friend’s brother for years.
I loved the banter and chemistry between Shaw and Vanessa. Their history brings a realness to their relationship that was easy to identify with. These characters were a breath of fresh air! And I loved the book club group texts that were both clever and whimsical. Add in interactions with Perri and Derek and Blakely brought the Lucky in Love series full circle. I loved Vanessa and Shaw and I loved Nobody Does it Better! Don’t miss this one! 5 stars
Perfection! Shaw and Vanessa’s story is pure perfection! I recommend reading Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor before diving into this one. It is a stand-alone, but you will understand these characters a bit better if you do! I laughed out loud a lot and swooned even more. The Queen of Rom-Com has another FIVE STAR READ!!
5 snowflakes for this one, it made my heart happy!!
We met Vanessa & Shaw in The Feel Good Factor, now we get to enjoy their story here, and you will enjoy it!
Vanessa has crushed on Shaw for as long as she can remember, but he’s her besties brother and off limits so to speak. When the ladies from the book club decide to set her up with a guy who checks all the great boxes for happy ever after, she’s left wondering if she can do this or should she come clean with Shaw, but does he feel the same way?
Shaw has lusted after Vanessa since high school, but per his sister Perri, she will hurt his man parts if he goes after her. But when he hears she’s being set up with someone else for his sisters wedding, he needs to make a decision now or possibly lose out on his chance with her. A call for help from Vanessa set’s the scene for a snow storm that will make or break them!
Read along and watch their story unfold, I fell in love with these two!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Nobody Does It Better is set in the same world as two of Blakely’s previous releases, Best Laid Plans and The Feel Good Factor. This is the story of Shaw and Vanessa and I was so excited to dive into this one!
Shaw, a firefighter who oozes charm and sexiness, and Vanessa, a bowling alley owner with a retro style, have had feelings for one another since high school, but they’ve done a fairly good job of hiding that. Shaw is Vanessa’s best friend Perri’s brother and Perri has made it crystal clear to both of them that she doesn’t want them dating. She feels that Shaw isn’t good enough for her friend based on the fact that he enjoys women and he’s never shown signs of wanting to settle down. But is the solution to that actually finding the right woman to settle down with?
When Vanessa finds herself in a jam at the cabin she’s preparing for Perri and Derek’s honeymoon, she calls on Shaw to help her out. While they are working away at the cabin, mother nature decides to throw them a curve and dumps an enormous amount of snow on them, stranding them together. Will years of pent of feelings finally overflow or will these two continue to circle one another?
With a great supporting cast that we’ve gotten to know in the other two books, you have the recipe for a great book. The matchmakers in town are in full force and as always when you pick up a Blakely book, it is full of entertainment and humor. I highly recommend picking this one up!
