Former firefighter Mason Cooper knows how it feels to be burned, both by life and by flame.
Still, nothing could have prepared him for life’s ultimate task—single fatherhood. As the sole provider for his little girl, there’s simply no room in his carefully constructed life for distractions.
When a stray dog lands him in the office of the new local vet, Mason comes face to face with a major … with a major complication. Because the new vet in town is none other than his childhood friend, Madeline Woods, the same girl who up and left him without a trace.
Gorgeous, smart, and thoughtful—the more time Mason spends with Maddy, the more he finds himself questioning whether she’s the thing he and his daughter have been missing all along.
But being with Maddy is like playing with fire, and while a little heat might be nice, can he trust her not to burn them both?

This is one of those books that you read and just feel so good afterward! I loved everything about this…all of the characters – from single daddy Mason, to veterinarian Maddy, to little Hannah and Hope! The storyline was well written and I didn’t want to put it down!!!
“No relationship is one hundred percent perfect. But it’s how you deal with those imperfections that makes or breaks it.”
This is a wonderful second chance, single dad romance! Mason was such a swoony, sweet hero! He just gave me all the feels! I loved how author Megan Green wrote the backstory and history of the characters. I really loved this and totally recommend reading it! 5 Stars!!!
Five stars all the way. I loved Megan Greens Washington Rampage series. Brandon is still one of my most favorite characters ever. Very tough to beat, but Mason did it. I don’t know something about a sexy fireman who also happens to be an amazing single father? You can’t beat that.
I absolutely loved every second of this book. It’s a friends to lovers, second chance, single father romance. Mason and Mandy spent senior year of high school being closer than any two people can be, the best of friends, even though Mason was the popular jock and Maddy was the girl everyone made fun of. Until something happened and Maddy left without a word. Now she is back with her own vet clinic and comes face to face with Mason and his daughter and despite her hurt feelings she can’t help but remember how much she loved being with Mason.
Mason and Maddy have amazing chemistry that flys right off the pages of the book. You can feel it as you are reading. The characters are all amazing but that doesn’t surprise me with Megan Green because I felt that way when reading her other books. I’m really hoping for a Reed and Cami book because that would be AMAZING.
Side not I need to put in here how much I love the cover of this book. It is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
*** I did receive a free advanced copy of this this book from Megan Green and Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for a fair and honest review***
A fabulous page-turner! Very well written. Wonderful characters, and an amazing storyline that will pull at your heartstrings. Mason and Maddy have a past that caused her to flee broken-hearted and in turn breaking his hard too. She thought she knew what what going on. He had no idea what happened. Twelve years later she returns and truths are revealed that will either heal them or break them for good.
when his daughter finds a hurt dog he wants to do everything he can for her but the vet is his high school crush as they care for the dog together he begins to see how much she has grown up and changed they have sizzling romance He sees that he can’t live without her they get married and have a happy ending
This is my first book by Megan Green. While it was ok, it didn’t catch my interest. I struggled to read through it. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the two main characters. The concept was good, but I felt Mason gave up on women too easily. His wife leaves him with a newborn and he quits his job that he loves and gives up on happy ever after. Now I guess people do, but he did have a support system in place that would have helped him.
In comes Maddy, a Veterinarian who saves their new found dog. And poof, they are dating. I just get the build up between these 2 and found myself skimming the book. Then the cliche ex-wife, comes back and she is not really an ex-wife, and now they are broken up and have to make a grand jester to get her back. Just felt like she followed a formula and marked them off.
An beautiful and emotional story of second chances and forgiveness.
Hannah got me sucked in from the beginning. She was just so cute, and she’s the reason how Mason and Maddy could meet again after she left town. When Maddy walks back into Mason’s life, even after so many years later those same feelings are still there. But there’s a reason why Maddy left…
This is a beautifully written, heart-warming second chance romance. Insecurities and fear got in between them but they powered through it. I like that about the main characters. This is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed!
Such a cute story!!
When Mason’s life turned upside down, he hit pause on all of his dreams for the little bundle of joy he was suddenly the single father of. And he excelled at being a father – Hannah is one of the most adorable children I’ve read about!
Enter his high school best friend, Maddy. She skipped town over a decade earlier and wasn’t exactly pleased to bump into Mason (and Hannah) within days of returning as the local vet. Especially when Mason was the reason why she left their little town in the first place.
With the attraction still there between them (if anything, now amplified) it doesn’t take long for them to explore their feelings and one another 😉
With some amazing side characters and the awesome banter and friendship-turned-relationship between Mason and Maddy, this was an enjoyable read.
I quite enjoyed Mason & Maddy, Hannah & Hope, & their story! This was a pretty quick read & my only complaint was that they both needed to communicate more openly throughout the story to avoid misunderstandings that really should have been avoided.
Other than that, this was a sweet & fun story. I really liked Mason’s best friend & Maddy’s vet tech … do they get a story? : )
This is the first book by this author that I have read and it won’t be the last. Loved Mason and Maddy. Once friends in high school, a misunderstanding tore their friendship apart. Maddy leaves and they don’t see each other for 10 years. She is back in town and is now the town vet, Mason comes in with a sick dog and the feelings came rushing back. Wonderful story. I really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So I finish this one a couple of days ago, and I just need to tell you that this one is the sweetest, easy, perfect book, is one of those that you read in a couple of hours, that the story and the characters makes you melt, and wishing if that kind of love is true, go grab a copy so you can be left swooning on their story.
Awesome writing with a storyline that will make your heart melt. Fabulous characters. This book had me from the first page. Beautiful, funny and amazing. Totally loved this story. I teared up a few times, laughed loads and swooned sooooo much. This is a sweet, sexy, love story, well worth reading! Happy reading everyone!
Unlikely highschool friends . . . a popular jock and a chubby nerd. Yet, they were best friends, until the mean girls conspire to keep them apart by creating gossip and lives meant to destroy Maddy so they could keep Mason to themselves. And, it worked . . because Maddy ran away and left town without a word believing Mason was a fraud and Mason was left broken hearted because he has no idea why Maddy left him high and dry.
Now, Mason’s a single dad. After his wife walked out on him and their infant, he’s devoted himself to being the best father he can possibly be, including giving up the career he loved and vowing not to have a relationship. That way, no one can leave him and Hannah again.
Maddy needs to find herself again. After living a life she wasn’t really meant to live and a rotten failed relationship, she’s back in her hometown. She’s finally doing what she wants on her own terms and not worried about what anyone thinks about her. That is until Mason, Hannah and a very sick stray dog walk into her veterinary clinic.
I really enjoyed Nobody But You. Maddy’s character was so easy to identify with. Even though she is successful, beautiful and confident, just being back in her home town has her reliving her terrible highschool days. And, coming face to face with Mason has her feeling insecurities she hasn’t felt for years.
Mason really is a good guy. He’s an amazing father and has given up his dream career and his entire focus is on making sure his baby girl is happy, healthy and loved. But, one look at Maddy has him yearning for things he swore he wouldn’t subject himself to again.
Add in a precocious and adorable little girl, nasty exes, quirky and outspoken best friends, miscommunications, lies by omission, feelings of not being good enough, fear of abandonment, an amazing grand gesture and a sweet little pup named Hope who brings them all together, and you have a sweet yet rocky romance working very hard to get to the happy ever after that this second chance couple deserves. 4 stars!
4 – 4.5 Stars!!
Having read Ms.Green’s work before I’ve been meaning to pick up more of her books and I’m so happy that I got to with Nobody But You! From the second that I read the synopsis to when I started reading this book, this story pulled me in and kept my attention from beginning to end. This was such an enjoyable read for me!
Maddy and Mason’s journey wrapped around my heart and didn’t let go! Whether I was grinning so big, frustrated, or so many things in between, I loved how I felt every bit of their story. I truly enjoyed diving deeper with these characters and getting to connect with both of them.
I admired Maddy’s love for her job and I really related to her throughout. I fell for Mason through every sweet moment with his daughter to the times where I understood his emotions.
With Nobody But You, Ms.Green brings the heart and the realness! You won’t want to turn away from your kindle until you’ve finished reading it in one sitting. I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
I love stories from Megan but I had a really hard time reading and connecting with Maddy and felt that her attitude distracted from the story.
Mason was great – I love his character development and his journey to where he got. I love that everything he did was for his little girl and that he cared about her, and was mature enough to step up the way he did.
My issue in the story came from Madeline. I felt that she was extremely immature and that I was reading an adults story with Mason and a high school story with Madeline. I felt there could have been multiple ways that Madeline could have been portrayed and multiple ways her past could have been brought up.
It was frustrating reading this book with the vast difference in maturity between the 2 characters.
Overall this book was good and I would read it again as well as recommend it. It is a quick, easy read with a great happy ending.
Single parent romances are some of my favorite books and this one has to be right at the top of that list.
Megan Green did an amazing job with making this book sweet and full of heart.
Maddy is back in her hometown as the vet. She wasn’t expecting to run into the first boy she fell in love with and who is now her ex-best friend.
Mason is a single father and firefighter. When he and his daughter find an abandoned puppy they bring it to the vet, not expecting to run into the girl who broke his heart.
Now can Mason and Maddy get past misunderstandings and the past to have a future?
Nobody But You is a wonderful second chance romance! Prepare yourself to not be able to put this book down if you’re a fan of:
*Second Chance Romance
*Hot Single Dad
*Firefighter
*Animal Rescue
This irresistible story will have you falling for a dog named Hope, an adorable little girl named Hannah, all while waiting for the story of what happened in the past to surface. So much goodness in one book, Mason and Maddy are the perfect examples of fire and ice, and their chemistry is explosive! This was my first read by Megan Green and I’ll follow her anywhere after reading this.
I was drawn to this one because it’s a single dad romance. It’s hard for me to pass one up. Plus Maddy is veterinarian. I love books with animals in them. Mason’s little girl Hannah is adorable. The scenes with Mason and Hannah will melt your heart. This book hits you right in the heart. Both Mason and Maddy’s pasts break your heart. I can relate to Maddy with the bullying so I know what she is feeling. There is one character I would love to give a piece of my mind. She’s some nasty business. This is a book you can easily get lost in. It’s a second chance for Maddy and Mason. Or will history repeat itself? I would recommend this book because you’re going to instantly fall in love with the characters. I also enjoyed the humor in this book especially when Mason gets together with his firefighter buddies.
Single dad romance at its absolute best. From the very first paragraphs to the last word on the final chapter this story will suck you in and not let you go. Between the hot and hunky Mason, who only wants what is best for his little girl Hannah, to the adorable 4 year old that has the perfect combination of sass and humor, to the caring and compassionate veterinarian Maddy who has a connection to Mason from long ago, the reader cannot help but fall in love with them. Throw in the High School connection and you have a storyline that is at times heart wrenching and at others heart warming. This book has it all.
3.5 stars
Nobody But You by Megan Green is a second chance romance where high school friends get a second chance at love.
This was a quick easy read with likeable characters, a gorgeous five year old and a poorly puppy. Definitely all the ingredients to make a successful romance novel.
For me, the most interesting characters though were not our hero or heroine, but their trusty sidekicks Reese and Cami.
However, Maddy and Mason get their HEA as you would expect, despite a few bumps in the road along the way.
As this is my first read from Megan Green, I’d be keen to see her back catalogue in order to explore a ‘new to me’ author a bit more.
