The quest… far, she’s rejected every offer I’ve made and shut every door in my face. If she can’t admit her feelings to herself, how can she commit to me?
The fall…
She’s so close to showing me everything she is. I can feel her need in the fire of her touch, taste it in the connection of our kisses, and glimpse her surrender in the intensity of our passion. Yet I want more. But I can’t be her white knight until she admits she needs saving.

No White Knight” by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue is bk 8 in Secrets of Stone series. This is the story of Taylor Mathews and Maclain ‘Mac’ Stone.
Taylor and Mac first meet when Taylor’s friend goes into surgery and she’s at first standoffish and somewhat sarcastic towards him in the first of their meeting; it’s like her way of not getting too close to people. As the story progresses, they get alot closer and the chemistry between them gets hotter and their connection deepens! Like super hot that I could feel the steam coming from my kindle as I read their red-hot love story. Along with their connection and red-hot chemistry, they also have in common” mom drama”. Taylor always has to bail hers out one way or another while Mac has to deal with his being a major manipulator.
With the earlier books of the Secrets of Stone Series, Angel and Victoria have another 5 star hit written. Now I’m dying to read the next book in this series to find out how Mac & Taylor make out and will they get their HEA. This was such a beautiful and intense read with such rollercoaster of emotions that have you glued to the story from start to finish.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *****
Taylor is an independent, sassy firecracker who stirs Dr. Maclain Stone like he’s never been before. So when the time has finally come for him to make his move, the wedding of his patient and her friend seems the perfect time. He gets to lay his hands on her delectable legs as he slides the bride’s garter up her thigh, and he just might make it to the promised land. Right…but nope, he didn’t count on her defenses or her complete and total sass. Sass that he ends up loving. But first he’ll have to scale the miles high walls she’s erected around her heart, around her entire being. Poor Mac…
I wanted to love No White Knight, and I did end up liking it, sorta. The first half maybe. But Taylor’s sass actually got a little old to me, which is a first for me because normally I dig it when the heroine is all kinds of feisty and fiery – doormats are an absolute no no for this woman. But Taylor’s back and forth, hot and cold attitude started to wear on me and I swear on my Bible that I ended up with a huge headache by about the middle of the book. It’s not that I hated No White Knight or anything. It just bogged down and I couldn’t see the forest for the trees, or more accurately, I couldn’t see how Taylor was going to ever make me fall in love with her the way Mac obviously had. Taylor was a p i t a. Seriously. I don’t know how poor Mac put up with her bitchy attitude. I get that she was damaged by her mother’s ridiculous ways, but really, she took it too far, wayyyy too far. We’ve all got baggage, but the way she dealt with that baggage was just this short of ridiculous. Time for her to grow up!
I do admit that I am perhaps interested in whether she’ll woman up and get her head out of her ass, so I just may read the next installment in their obviously bumpy journey, but it’ll depend upon whether or not I have enough Tylenol on hand that day for the headache that I’m sure to develop while reading.
An emotionally charged, sexy, fun and engaging battle between two people that are so alike yet completely at odds…. perfect for each other yet so distrustful. A heart pounding romantic adventure filled with witty banter, sizzling heat, undeniable passion and uncertainty….. highly entertaining.
This is the first book in the series that I have read and I am planning to go back and read the other 7 books in the series! Since this book is the start of Taylor and Mac’s story, you don’t need to read the other 7 to get up to date on this couple. However, the previous books are about the other couples that are part of this story and and how they got together.
Taylor has many childhood issues that she puts on a front so that people don’t under estimate her. She is the type that would “rather ask for forgiveness than permission”. I love that about her and her sassy attitude. She loves her friend and are grateful to have them but she doesn’t show them all of who she really is because she doesn’t want any sympathy.
Mac Stone is a highly regarded neurosurgeon who first met Taylor when she was at the hospital supporting her friend. Mac wants to get to know Taylor better even she has refused to acknowledge him. Their chemistry is off the charts and even Taylor’s friends are pushing her to have a relationship with Mac.
The ensuing story about Taylor and Mac is really fun to read. We get to find out their past and understand why it makes them who they are but also get to see how each of them want to break free of it so they can pursue a deeper relationship with each other. Mac is persistent in his pursuit of Taylor and keeps showing her that he will be there and she can rely on him. Taylor wants that with Mac also but her traumatic childhood gets in the way and her past keeps coming back to haunt her.
I can’t wait to find out what will come next for these two people.
This book has everything rolled into one!! Hot chemistry, romance, wonderful characters that feed off of each other. Mac and Taylor can’t live with each other but also can’t live without one another! Still, secrets between them are hurting them. I hope they are able to get over them and realize that they belong to each other!!
I loved this book and highly recommend it!! Mac and Taylor spar with each other constantly their chemistry is off the charts!!! What happens if and when they get together??!! Book 8 of the series is a must read and I love how the authors revisit the other characters of previous books in this one!!
Holy cow!! Angel Payne and Victoria Blue just get better and better. No White Knight is amazing!! I am in love with Mac and Taylor! A fantastic addition to The Secrets of Stone Series and I am on pins and needles waiting for the next one!!
Omg This Book was Amazingly written!! It has you hooked from the beginning!! Taylor and Mac are great characters!! The book leaves you with all the feels!! Highly recommend it!!
No White Knight by Angel Payne & Victoria Blue is book 8 in the Secrets of Stone series. This is the story of Taylor Mathews and Maclain ‘Mac’ Stone. I feel this can be a standalone book.
Mac is a strong, harden heart and used to getting his way. Taylor is the responsible caring person who is used to taking care of others and pulling them out of situations. Taylor doesn’t take to Mac’s forceful charms. Mac knows that there is something different about Taylor and she is gonna make him work for her interest. Both so different yet they each had similar issues that they needed to get past.
This was one book you find impossible to put down…at least for me it was. Loved it!
AMAZING…Didn’t see the ending coming! These two women can write a book. You snicker a little bit and you fall in love with a transformed Mac Stone. Taylor has fascinated Mac from the very first time he met her and decided he will have her. Follow the sexy, sassy and emotionally twisted story of these two.
A most excellent book and Series – props to the authors they have a quick wit and are very talented.
Wild, hot, steamy and loved it!!!! Wonderful book! Absolutely loved this book!!!!
Hot, hot, hot! Fabulously naughty with an intense hero that will make you swoon. Yes, please!
NO WHITE KNIGHT By Angel Payne & Victoria Blue
No White Night is the 8th installment of the Secrets of Stone Series. OH My Gosh!!! I can’t say enough good things about this book! Angel & Victoria are brilliant writing this series. I could not put it down once I started it. I am going to be anxiously waiting on the next book!
Maclain Stone is a hot shot, playboy neurosurgeon. Taylor Mathews is one lady with tons of baggage and a mile wide independent streak. The first time he sees her he is totally smitten, but she does not want to give him the time of day. I am not going to give anything away, so I am not going to say much more. Together they are one hot couple with amazing chemistry. I would give this more than 5 stars if I could.
I absolutely loved this book! This is book 8 of the Secrets of Stone series and Angel Payne and Victoria Blue did not disappoint. We have Mac and Taylor, who each have their own challenges with life. Mac is a hotshot neurosurgeon and playboy who falls for Taylor. Her on the other hand, wants nothing to do with him. She is Miss Independent but life has been rough on her. She helps others while she does nothing for herself and Mac wants to help her bring those walls down. Mac also has secrets and challenges of his own. He soon realizes Taylor is not like other women and won’t fall for his tactics. In the end, their chemistry grows too strong and it gets very hot between the two. Of course, there will be drama. I love how independent Taylor is and I can relate to her since I too do a lot for others without thinking to do something for myself. If you are a fan of this series, you will LOVE this couple’s story.
Maclain Stone, has met the woman of his dreams, feisty Taylor Mathews.
Taylor is a little emotionally shut down, life has not be real good to her. Mac has made his share of mistakes too but is finally feeling something more for this sassy woman.
You will feel it all with this story, joy, frustration plus totally wow moments. From their witty banter to the scorching hot love scenes,Mac and Taylor burn up the pages. Ends with a cliffhanger so be prepared. I’m excited to see where their story takes us next!
When we first see Mac and Taylor together I expected fireworks, and some royal battles. What we get in No White Knight is battlefield level explosions in and out of the ‘bedroom’.
Mac and Taylor each have issues and there are a lot of similarities between them that they have yet to see. Parents are the people who are supposed to teach us to be reasonably functional adults. But sometimes they teach us to be closed off, self absorbed and distrustful. If this couple can break the old chains then they may have a chance. But the pain of trying to love someone who refuses to step outside old hurts and mistrust may be a wall even a Stone cannot break down.
I love these two. They are passion exemplified and a truly great love in the making. I am so ready for the next book to see how they bust through the impasse. Angel Payne and Victoria Blue have done it again. This book is fabulous!
Angel Payne and Victoria Blue did an AMAZING job with this book! LOVED IT..
Mac and Taylor have amazing chemistry. I absolutely love Taylor and her independent ways. She refuses to ask for help. Mac wants more than anything to make her see he can be what she needs. She has many issues going on in her life and there has never been anything easy for her. She is always taking care of others and never herself. She is definitely a character that we can all relate to.
Can Mac bring her walls down and show her there is more to life? He has a few secrets and challenges of his own. He finds himself falling hard for Taylor.. Things that normally work for him do not work with her…
You will LOVE this addition to the Series.. I cannot wait to read the rest of their story.
