Two years.Who kisses someone and then doesn’t say anything for two years? Greg Moran, that’s who. That kiss might not have started it all, but it sure did change everything. I thought I was living a simple life, keeping to my friends, eating pickles with ice cream, drinking bourbon on the weekends, and taking naps after work. Looking back at it all now, it was anything but simple. What happens in … simple.
What happens in Vegas was supposed to stay there. But clearly, this time it wasn’t.
I married Greg Moran.
My best friend. My boss.
The man who I had loved for five years.
Two years of silence broke me though. It caused me to do something no sane woman in love would do.
I asked for a divorce.

This book had me entranced. I just couldn’t put it down. It was such a cute feel good, quick read. I loved it. Greg and Lily seemed so real to me. I could see them in real life. Lily is so unsure of Greg. He has kept to himself and any feelings locked up that its hard to imagine a life with him. Lily truly lives him and is afraid he’ll break her heart by leaving her in turn ruining the friendship they have created. She has put so much distance between them to maintain control it’s actually a little ridiculous but hey we are women. Greg deal with things the way most men do, with sex. No wonder Lily has a hard time. Will they overcome this hurdle and go back to being friends, will this ruin everything or will they get their happy ever after? You’ll have to read to find out. I read this book voluntarily for an honest review. I would really like more books by this author. I did enjoy her writing style and can’t say i disliked anything about this book. Enjoy!
This is the second book in the Inkwell Chronicles and it was another great story. Lilly and Greg are best friends and neighbors and they shared one drunken kiss two years ago. And nothing since. Lilly cannot understand why but when they head to Vegas for a friends wedding they make the crazy decision to get married. When they get back home, Lilly wants a divorce but Greg does not. The judge gives them three weeks to think over the decision and insists they go to counselling twice a week during this time. The story was well written, if a little unfocused at times, but my major issue was that sometimes I just wanted to knock Lilly and Greg’s heads together to make them see sense as they were worse than teenagers. That aside, this was a fun story that I would recommend.
This story had so much to offer and I really loved the blurb, unfortunately this story caused me a few headaches while reading it; I kept banging my head against whatever was close by, out of sheer frustration. I have no patience with adults, in their mid-twenties, that have the maturity level of adolescent teenagers and that might be the issue I had with No Way in Hell, the second book in the Ink Well Chronicles.
Lily and Greg have known each other for five years and work together at Ink Well, a publishing company. He’s her boss and best friend and when they shared a kiss two years ago it must’ve meant more to Lily than Greg, because it was as if it never happened, something Lily has never been able to let go of. When they go to Vegas, to attend a wedding between mutual friends and co-workers they get married, too. And Lily immediately wants an annulment (which they can’t have, natch) or divorce; all because she can’t let go that kiss.
This is the entire premise of the story, an incident that happened two years earlier that they wouldn’t or couldn’t discuss as grown adults; never mind supposed best friends. Something we’re reminded of repetitiously, throughout the story. I never felt a connection with the main characters and was very disappointed I couldn’t like them or find something positive about either one.
There’s also an underlying theme that Lily harps on throughout the story. She doesn’t have anyone in her life that truly cared for her. Being the baby in the family, with much older parents and siblings, she felt as if she was an afterthought. She was very attached to Greg’s family, and felt like a member of it, so losing him would be a double whammy.
“Because no one stayed forever, so how could I expect the man I love to do so?”
Greg and Lilly are co-workers and friends! Lilly, unfortunately has been in love with Greg for years, but 2 years ago, they shared a kiss. Then they pretended it hadn’t happened! And then, they go to Vegas, and they’re married! A divorce is the next appropriate step! But what happens on the way to divorce?
A wonderful, fun book, with twists, miscommunication and misunderstandings galore! I enjoyed every one of them!
I was provided with an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.
Greg and Lilly’s story pulled at my heartstrings the entire read! Lilly with her deep rooted abandonment issues is endearing and relatable. Because of this she fights her feelings for Greg not knowing he has the same feelings towards her. Until they attend a friend’s wedding in Vegas that changes everything between them!!! Definitely a must read!!!
