This isn’t your typical romance story. It’s more a journey of two people in love who can’t, and won’t, let go of that love.
These characters aren’t perfect, but they represent real people who are dealing with these struggles every day.

I have been wanting to read No Tomorrow for some time now. When I saw it pop up on my Kindle, I was beyond excited. I dropped everything and dove right into this exceptional romance. The storyline was intense, emotional, epic, and I can easily say one of my favorite books of 2018!
It is hard for me to put into words how I feel about No Tomorrow. It was more than a book. It was an experience and one that I will not forget. The characters were well developed, and I became completely engrossed in Piper and Blue’s romance. There were many highs and many lows, and I felt like I experienced them along with them.
I am going to recommend that you start this story when you have the time to devote to it. Because I can guarantee that you will not want to put it down.
No Tomorrow rocked my soul.

I have been patiently waiting for the release of NO TOMORROW. I am a big fan of Carian Cole, and have read all her books. But this one is an epic book. It is long, so don’t start reading till you can plan to keep on reading. You won’t want to put the book down till “The End”! This book does touch on sensitive subjects such as depression, mental illness, and drug use. If any of these are your triggers then read this book with caution.
Piper Karel at twenty-one is the youngest person in the office. It is a small fashion design firm. She loves to escape the office and people, and eat lunch in the park and get some fresh air. On her way to her favorite bench to eat lunch, she hears music. A guy who looks like he is in his early twenties is sitting on the ground with a guitar. He has an adorable dog with him. He is wearing an earring with a small blue feather that dangles on a silver hook. It reminds her of the small blue bird that flew into her head and left it’s downy feather on her forehead. Maybe some kind of premonition or sign. There is a rainbow arching against the sky. It’s beautiful and hopeful. He has tattoos! She has one tattoo a ladybug. If they both see a lady bug together they were meant to be. His name is Evan, but his friends call him Blue. His dog is named Acorn. She is attracted to both him and his dog.
She is shocked to find he is homeless. Even if he claims he is homeless and jobless by choice. She thinks no sane person would do that to himself. She wants to help him, but her efforts only bring them closer together. She has willingly walked into the depths of the unknown, which comes under the guise of inked arms and a beautiful voice. He’s her first taste of wild, and he is nothing short of delicious. She is a creature of comfort and habit. He has a case of wanderlust. The thing about being crazy is that it can slowly become normal. Love doesn’t have rules. The way they love each other isn’t perfect, but they admit that their love is all that matters. He only promises to give her as many tomorrows as he possibly can. He tells her he loves her like there is no tomorrow, and to never forget that.
Nobody is perfect. Everyone has baggage. People don’t have to be perfect to be loved, the messed up, broken and sick. Everyone wants to love and be loved. There should be a happy ending for everyone.
This is an epic novel that is written so well. It takes place over many years. It has humor that makes you laugh. It also has sorrow and heartbreak that will make you want to cry. For a long book it never made me bored or want to put the book down. It is one of the best books I’ve read this year.
I honestly don’t know if I have enough words to adequately describe how incredible No Tomorrow is. I lost sleep over this book because I couldn’t get it out of my head. I was consumed with it and I still am. No Tomorrow can be read as a stand-alone, the writing is exceptional and honestly, it’s Carian Cole’s best work to date.
Blue and Piper are just absolutely everything and their all-consuming love is so raw and real that I felt it deep down to my soul. They met in a non-traditional way and their unconventional relationship is filled multiple twists and turns. Although they had their fair share of heartbreaking moments, there were also beautiful and tender moments between them. My heart and my mind endured a roller coaster of emotions. No Tomorrow had me vibrating on the edge of my seat with angst and tension. There were times when I clutched my chest repeatedly as my heart ached, tears were rolling down my face and I had to take a deep breath and walk away from my IPad. And you know what? I would go through it all over again as I loved every single word of this phenomenal book from beginning to end.
Piper was sweet, kind, selfless and a nurturer who saw the good in everyone which explained her immediate attraction to Blue. Throughout the book, I was astounded by her strength, bravery and courage. And then we have Blue, my new favorite hero. The tortured, restless, broken and damaged wanderer who I found to be endearing and lovable. I also had a love/hate relationship with him yet I was still in his corner championing for him. Not only was Blue and Piper’s connection unparalleled but their intimate relationship was beyond another level. Those unforgettable moments were thigh clenching and oh so sexy.
No Tomorrow will resonate with me forever as it is one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life. Everyone needs to take a chance and experience this book. I’m so glad I did.
This has got to be one of the most emotional journeys I have had in a long time. The story really pulls you in and takes your heart captive. I’m always weary when authors tackle depression, it’s a subject very close to my heart and quite often authors really don’t get to grips with the lonely, desolate struggle a person go through whilst suffering with an ‘unseen’ illness. Carian Cole nailed this!! Evan / Blue’s struggle was real, the reader felt the high’s and the low’s along with the characters. Piper’s love was unconditional and together the pair endured a romance that was beautiful and heartfelt.
Told in first person, the book takes a steady pace and it plays out over fourteen years. This for me was key to this story working. Depression can go unnoticed and untreated for decades with the sufferer failing to recognise it in themselves. Blue was beautifully flawed, such a gentle caring man that was often left dealing with demons. I was routing for this pair from the get go, the unconventional way they got together right the way through to finding their HEA.
This story will always have a place in my heart. Bravo Carian Cole, such beautiful writing.
What a ride! I was totally invested in this story from start to finish and loved every minute of it. I devoured it in one long sitting reading until 215am! I highly recommend this!
No Tomorrow by Carian Cole was such an emotional story that was so unexpected. It was a crazy ride with so many feels. I want to share so much, but this is really a story you have just experience while reading.
Blue and Piper feel an undeniable connection when they first meet and fall hard. But love is not always enough. So, begins Blue and Piper’s journey that will be heartbreaking and compelling and will draw you right in. It deals with so many issues and that will touch you and devastate you.
Blue and Pipers story starts in their early twenties and spans years of their lives. Piper is the girl good who follows the rules. Blue is the bad boy who follows his music. His demons lead him down a path of difficult choices. Their romance is not an easy one and their journey was complicated in so many ways and though at times you think they would be better apart, I never stopped rooting for them. Their story is one I devoured. No Tomorrow by Carian Cole is a story that will make you feel.
4.5 stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
This No Tomorrow review will be brief and fall way short in expressing just how much I absolutely loved this story!
No Tomorrow is a story of a boy and a girl who fall in love amongst great odds. A story of a boy and a girl who love each other so much that they let each other go even though it breaks both their hearts. A story of a boy and a girl who won’t let anything really stand in there way of their happily ever after—even though that happily ever after is going to take time, patience, love, and a whole lot of work to make it happen.
No Tomorrow is a story about healing. A story about self-preservation. A story about everlasting hope. A story about forgiveness.
A story that will stay with you. Haunt you. Crush you. Make you believe in love again. A story you won’t put down until you know just what happens after all Blue and Piper go through. A compelling read that will be one of your favorites of the year. I know it’s near the top of my list!
No Tomorrow was heartbreakingly beautiful. Ms. Cole drew me in from the beginning of this book and didn’t let me go until it was finished. In the moments I was forced to put it down to tend to life I couldn’t stop thinking about Piper and Blue (Evan). Their story was full of pain, angst, and undying love and spoke to my soul in a way few books are able. I felt like this was an important story to tell for so many reasons and is definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year.
At the heart of it No Tomorrow is a sweeping love story, but in reality, it is so much more than that. It’s a tale of hurt and healing, of loyalty and loss, of freedom and forever; No Tomorrow traversed the deep waters of anguish and joy with equal grace, and I was enamored with the extent of emotion this book drug me through. My heart both wept with tears of happiness for the kind of love Piper and Evan shared and was shattered by the torture they had to endure because of that love.
Mental illness is an issue that is very near and dear to my heart. I love it when I read a book that treats it with respect and brings awareness to what living with it is like, rather than using it as a crutch to make a character quirky. Carian Cole did a phenomenal job of portraying what the life of someone suffering from mental illness is like and how it affects everyone around them. I am absolutely in awe of how wonderful this book was, and I know I’ll be thinking about No Tomorrow for some time.
No Tomorrow was gritty and angsty; it dealt with some of the hardest subject matter there is, but never once did any of those things feel like they were used gratuitously. Each time the book delved into mental illness, drug use, or profound depression it was moving the story forward, giving the reader clarity to what loving someone who suffers from those afflictions can be like. It was often gut-wrenching, but I loved that Piper dealt with Evan and his demons with dignity and never let the bad come between them.
While I own several Carian Cole books, No Tomorrow is the first of her works that I’ve read, and I was completely blown away. The writing was fabulous, the story astonishing in its beauty and depth, and the characters amongst some of the most well-developed I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know in romance. This story, this author, this writing will be the standard by which similar books are measured, for me, for a very long time.
I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.
Having never read a book by Carian Cole but being completely intrigued by the description of the book, I just had to make “No Tomorrow” my first read by her. I also knew that this story was sure to be packed full of angst which would lead to tears and high emotions. Little did I know how Piper and Evan would wreck me emotionally and have me doubting whether love was strong enough one minute and cheering on the sidelines and sure that their love would make it the next. This is a read that requires every piece of your heart to understand and evokes every emotion than you could ever imagine.
Piper had me praying for her emotional well being from the moment she met her gorgeous musician. I fell hard in love with him from the beginning but I found myself doubting Evan at many moments that she didn’t. She shows her strength and fortitude in every decision that she makes and holds her own even when I wanted to shake some sense into her. I soon learned that she was stubborn enough to hang onto her love for Evan even when most would have given up.
Evan aka “Blue” swept me off my feet right along with Piper but something early on made me a little hesitant to give him my whole heart but by the end he owned every piece of it. I fell for the charming musician who poured all of his emotions into his lyrics but I soon realize that you have to love every troubled part of this hero to see the full effect that he has on Piper and his fans.
Carian Cole delivers a romance steeped in high emotions and unthinkable passion that will have you under the bridge panting right along with the hero and heroine. I highly recommend “No Tomorrow” for an in depth roller coaster of emotion that is sure to have you smitten with this beautifully flawed couple. Carian writes a thought provoking romance that delves into deep subject matter that will wring your heart of tears and emotion.
This book took me on an emotional roller coaster, and I LOVED every single minute of it. Carian Cole just KNOWS how to write a story that penetrates into the deepest recesses of your heart and permeates into your very soul. I’m an instant fan!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This book, I barely have words. I had such a book hangover after I finished it, not to mention, I needed a glass of water to re-hydrate after the tears I cried. Blue and Piper are such complex characters and their love story spans years, heartbreak, and moments of pure happiness. This review is tough to write because so much of the beauty and pain of this book would be a spoiler to describe.
Luckily, the description of the book offers some details to the plot that I can discuss without spoilers. No Tomorrow spans about 14 years of on and off relationship between Blue and Piper. They meet when she is fresh out of college and he is a homeless musician. Blue’s homelessness and the issues leading to it are reoccurring plot points throughout the book. Emotionally, this book is a roller coaster. Both Blue’s and Piper’s lives and motivation change throughout the book but the love between them remains constant and strong. Their relationship hits major bumps without the book and there were moments were I sobbed reading it. Even when Piper questioned the healthiness of their relationship, I still held out home for a happy ending.
Carian Cole delivered on an emotional and passionate book. This is the first book I read by her but once I finished No Tomorrows, and stopped crying, I immediately went and bought her other books. I can think of no better recommendation of her writing than that.
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I’ve had the pleasure of reading some truly amazing books this year, but nothing could have prepared me for this book. This book was heartbreaking, loving, beautifully devastating, and everything I thought I wanted and didn’t. No Tomorrow is like nothing I have read. I could not put this book down.
This is Blue and Piper’s story. This story touches on topics that may be difficult for some. Drug abuse and mental illness are prevalent in this book and may be hard for some. But it’s handled in a manner that made me want to bow at Carian Cole’s feet. She did such an amazing job expressing love while telling the hard truths. Blue and Piper are amazing. They have love in spades for each other, but a sometimes toxic relationship isn’t worth the pain. I don’t want to give anything away about this amazing story, so my review is vague at best.
Carian Cole, thank you for writing this story. Thank you for making this story relatable, complex, and beautiful. Sometimes you read a story that just touches you and won’t let go, this story did just that for me. This book is written so that you feel it and I did. Please check out this beautiful story. I promise you will not be disappointed.
***WARNING***
You will want tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. Maybe wrap your kindle in bubble wrap because you will want to throw your kindle.
WOW! Just wow! I have read a lot of books this year but nothing compares to this. No Tomorrow is the best book I have read this year!
It seems like I have been reading a never ending book. I have been reading this book for a while even tho I refused to put this book down. At times I couldn’t see through the tears, and there was a LOT of tears, I refused to put this book down. Carian Cole had my emotions all over the place.
Cole had me loving and hating these characters. My head has been a mess. My heart was shattered several times. Overall this book is everything I was hoping for and more! Carian Cole mad me feel all the emotions these characters felt. I’m not sure how she does it but she is a brilliant author! I can’t wait to see what she gives us next!
As the first book by this author that I have read, I am in awe at the story concept she brought forth with this one. This one deals with a lot of raw moments. Deals with addiction and mental health on a lot of different levels and how it affects those in your life. Blue is a tortured soul in so many ways. He just wants to run away and get lost in the world so he doesn’t harm anyone. Until Piper enters his life. But like one addiction, he uses her as another. Their relationship is raw and passionate but also toxic at the same time. All Piper wants to do is help him. You can feel that life ending love with these two. But the demons within Blue take its toll. Things explode and things happen that make your jaw drop. It is hard to write this review as I do not want to spoil anything. You honestly just need to read it. This is a story of sticking by the ones you love in the long run, regardless of how much they hurt you, as they fight the demons within. My heart broke at times for Piper as she is put through the ringer. But she is such a fighter.
Overall, while at times I felt like some moments were dragged out, it served its purpose in this story. You needed that extra in depth moments. You needed those raw moments where souls are bared. You need to be left exposed by the time you are done this story to feel it to your bones
No Tomorrow is definitely better going in blind. Don’t read spoilers. Don’t read the reviews. Don’t read the blurb. All you need to know is Carian Cole is going to hurt you oh so good.
No Tomorrow is full of feelings, love, doubt, and heartache. It’s filled with hope, adventure, and longing. It’s sad, depressing, and will rile you up.
No Tomorrow is worth every tear, every hurt, and every last smile.

I don’t even know where to start with this review; my heads in a complete spin analyzing and thinking on the events that have transpired so vividly before my very eyes but one thing I do no from the bottom of my very soul that this for me was probably, in my opinion, the most real and raw story that Carian Cole has ever narrated.
I have read a lot from this author and every book I have ever opened of hers has touched me in some way, shape or form “No Tomorrow” was for me the pinnacle of all these other reads and though I usually stay the hell away from anything to angsty I am so glad I took a chance on this as I felt that melancholy enchantment so starkly experiencing it down to the depths of my very soul.
I honestly think this is one journey that just needs to be experienced in all its messy unapologetic glory.
Going in blind here is probably the best thing you can do.
Just living this pilgrimage of discovery right alongside Blue and Piper, feeling the intensity of sentiment and pure instinct as everything is amplified in this personal expedition of self-worth.
So, This is not a traditional love story it is anything but, what we have here is a stark portrayal of obsession and need.
Messy and sometimes selfish the road to happiness here is paved with heartache and tears.
There no goodies and baddies in this it just is what it is.
A bleak blunt spiral into absolute despair aided along in its ever-forward momentum by a lifelong battle with addiction and mental illness.
I smiled and cried and also felt the depths of despondency right alongside Blue and piper
I was in awe of pipers ability and capacity for caring and forgiveness she was such a strong warrior with the strength and resilience of a woman just in love with her man.
I have to say through my own personal experience with mental illness and addiction that this author was so spot on in her portrayal of the downward spiral and also the mindset of someone dealing with such day to day demons.
Demons that not only affect the individual but also the whole unit of friends and family especially a romantic partner.
That’s what I liked about this the most, there was no unrealistic love cures all this was a process that never goes away but can with time, attention and care be lived with and managed.
It was such a raw honest narrative that I truly appreciated.
And though I felt my heart in my mouth throughout I was also glued to every poignant magical word expressed here so powerfully.
Such an arresting expressive dialogue with a wonderful multi-faceted cast.
And I absolutely adored that epilogue; If I could give this more stars than five I so would, this is a story that’s going to live within my heart for a very long time to come indeed.
Please do yourself a favour and read.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of “No Tomorrow” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

This story….wow, just wow…I had to sit for a while after I was finished to really let it settle.
This is a new to me author and I am so glad I stumbled onto this story.
No Tomorrow is going to grab you and hold you till it’s over, and then it will stay with you. There is a bit of a mystery, a lot of angst and a love like no tomorrow.
Blue and Piper are a couple like no other. Their story spans years.
When they first meet and the relationship that follows, I have to admit, there were some moments when I even thought “How odd” or “Why is she still with him?”.
I loved how Ms. Cole gave hints to the mystery, you have to really read slowly and savor it like fine chocolate.
Piper is the epitome of patience and understanding, she is the definition of love unconditionally. After all the trials and tribulations, she is the strength that Blue needs.
Blue is a tortured soul, his music is his savior for a time. Until he meets Piper. She becomes his muse, she becomes his everything. He warns her that he’ll break her, but he loves her like no other. His childhood is wretched and it is slowly revealed through the story.
This is going to be in the running for my “Best Reads of 2018”. This story is going to take you on a journey of love, forgiveness and salvation. It’s beautifully written and I was spellbound by it! Bravo Ms. Cole! I so look forward to reading your past works and your future stories!
This book was everything!
It was beauty!
It was pain!
It was devastating!
It was EVERYTHING!!!!
What a fucking rollercoaster!
Blue and Piper are my modern day Romeo and Juliet!
They epitomise the true meaning of soulmates with more than a handful of heartbreak thrown in for good measure!
The bond between them is so undeniable – it’s palpable and the way Carian Cole crafts their tale of love and loss is an absolute credit to her amazing literary skills!
This book was such a game changer with hard limits and heavy subjects that may cause distress for some but in more ways sheds light on the perceptions of drug abuse and mental health offering a different angle in such an inspirational way!
No Tomorrow was gritty and dirty and something that will without doubt leave a scar on your subconscious!
The love between Blue & Piper is a prime example of a love that knows no bounds but is also a love that was hard to read at time…it was a love that was like a tidal wave, all too consuming and often unforgiving for the two main characters.
As a reader, turning the pages, through the addiction and passion that went hand in hand with Blue and Piper, I couldn’t help but feel my heart break alongside theirs!
This book was like having a looking glass that gave a sneak peak behind the scenes of a love that had the power to build and destroy all at the same time!
I can’t even begin to find the words that could ever do this book and the story and characters justice!
Just know that Carian Cole has created something so special and so beautiful with this story!
It’s like being a part of something special that doesn’t come around all that often!
This is one of those books that needs to be handled with care!
It shouldn’t be rushed…it should be savoured and cherished and read with a mind open to love and heartbreak and possibilities!
I absolutely adored this book and every single word that graced it’s pages!!!!!!!
EXTRAORDINARY!!!
There are a few special books that you read in your lifetime that touch you in so many ways it leaves you speechless and this most certainly is one of those books. It not only touches your heart, it touches your soul.
Blue/Evan’s story is not uncommon as some would think or would like to admit. Mental illness is something that many cannot understand unless you have went through some form of it or been the support person who will be there and love you no matter what. Piper was not a weak pushover of a woman she was a woman who gave her heart and soul to the homeless musician she met when she was twenty-one. Theirs’s is a story that will give you so many ups and downs that your head (and heart) are just spinning. Without giving any spoilers this is a book that is unique in that this author was not afraid to bring mental illness to the forefront and did so with love and truth. Evan went from a homeless musician to a rock star while always loving the woman who never gave up on him.
No Tomorrow is extraordinary and Ms. Cole took me in to Blue and Piper’s lives and let me feel everything they felt from a never ending love to heartbreak to realizations that everything in life is not perfect…but that’s ok. What is perfect anyway? I am honored to have read this book by an author who was phenomenal in telling this story and putting a light on an unspoken subject that needs not to be taboo.
Much anticipated standalone release by one of my all time favourite authors.
Total spoiler free review!! Because #NOSPOILERS FOR #NoTomorrow
The brutal, no holds barred magnifying glass of life is pointed on Blue and Piper.
Two total opposites that find them self drawn to each other and unable to let go.
Carian has an honest and heartbreaking way of taking story, breathing life to her characters whilst raising awareness on ‘bigger issues’. It’a true gift and calling card of a truly exceptional author that still leaves me gobsmacked after each book she delivers.
Filled with tenderness, angst and heart breaking feels this book was an absolute gem of a read. If you haven’t read any of Carian’s books before and an enjoy an emotive read ( that’s putting it mildly ) then you will adore this book…I know I did.
