This isn’t your typical romance story. It’s more a journey of two people in love who can’t, and won’t, let go of that love.
These characters aren’t perfect, but they represent real people who are dealing with these struggles every day.

Wow! This book was more than a story it was a journey that was unforgettable. Most love stories are about the journey of meeting and falling love but this story was about what happens when two people fall in love and their journey. Evan “Blue” is man tortured with thoughts but one thing that he knows is the beautiful little elf like woman he meets in the park is going to be his. When Piper sees Blue playing his guitar with Acorn sitting next to him, she knows her heart is lost to them both. What follows is the emotional journey of them both filled with love, pain, sadness and passion. This story was just so emotional and amazing, I have never read anything that gave me all the feels quite like this one. Be prepared to have the tissues handy as this book pulls so much from the reader. I have to say this book will stay with you for a long time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

“I love you like there’s no tomorrow.”
NO TOMORROW by Carian Cole rocked me to the core, consumed my heart and soul, and wrecked me in the most glorious way!!
THE SETUP
I am keeping this overview SPOILER-FREE, but I can safely divulge that as with most epic love stories, this tumultuous, angst-ridden romance, which spans 14 years, begins with such sweet promise. For from the moment Piper Karel, a sweet, shy, socially awkward administrative assistant for a small fashion design firm, encounters a homeless street musician named Blue in the tree-lined park where she takes her lunch break every day, life as she knows it is forever changed!
Piper knows nothing about the ruggedly handsome, heavily tatted guitarist with the long hair and deep smoky voice other than that he lives and works on the streets, with his faithful floppy eared canine Acorn always by his side, and there is something about this man and his dog that calls to an elemental part of her.
Day after day, a tender bond is forged as Blue plays his music and they share snippets of their lives with each other and when the gravitational pull between them unexpectedly explodes into a night of rough, hot, primal sex, she sees a wilder, more mercurial side to the laid back guitarist that sparks a raging inferno of burning need within her.
But…sighhhh her dreams of forever bliss are a mere illusion and their time together is woefully short-lived. For Blue is a wanderer, a restless spirit, a man who is destined for stardom but is plagued with dark demons and over the years as he mysteriously comes in and out of her life, he always leaves a path of devastation in his wake.
“He’s like an eclipse—simultaneously dark and light, and not safe to look at for too long without suffering a burn.”
Nevertheless, despite all the ups and downs, their toxic, WILDLY PASSIONATE love affair is an addiction neither of them can quit and their two hearts somehow always beat together in perfect harmony. But can their love withstand the darkest torment?
MY MUSINGS:
Carian Cole truly penned a romantic masterpiece in NO TOMORROW! Gah! The intoxicating journey I embarked on with Blue and Piper is just so electrifying and painfully honest and deeply moving I am still REELING from the aftershocks.
As always, Ms. Cole’s narrative flows beautifully. The prose is equal parts scintillatingly erotic, ravishingly romantic and viscerally raw, and the way all three are seamlessly intertwined into the fabric of the story is utterly spellbinding! There is also metaphorical symbolism throughout, and I truly relished how music played such an instrumental role in this bittersweet love story.
Even though I craved more of Blue’s POV throughout to gain more insight into his tormented psyche, and all the wasted years these kindred spirits spent apart TOTALLY SLAYED MY HEART, the manner in which their saga unfolded was truly genius! With each subsequent chapter I found myself becoming more and more enraptured with these complex, achingly flawed characters and holy smokes is their smoldering attraction COMBUSTIBLE!
Ms. Cole delved into some very sensitive topics during Blue and Piper’s angst-ridden tale, including drug abuse and mental illness, which may cause some triggers in readers. But I applaud her for bravely exploring these subjects with depth and unwavering realism and jaw dropping insight!
Sighhh…how can I possibly convey my crazy chaotic feelings for Blue? I loved him and loathed him and lamented over him, sometimes in the same breath, but there’s just something so entrancing about this devilishly charming drifter who possessed a brilliant poetic mind AND such a troubled, tortured soul. And while I exalted in his legendary rise to fame, there were cracks in his facade all along and I kept bracing myself for the worst because I knew it was only a matter of time until his demons finally caught up with him.
As for Piper, some might say that she was a doormat, a fool for clinging to the hope of endless tomorrows with this hypnotically sexy albeit deeply damaged heartbreaker who shattered her time and again. But that’s not MY takeaway. I see this heroine as a pillar of unwavering strength in the darkness and admire how despite her own anxiety, crippling self-doubt and mental anguish her love for Blue never faltered!
“I want this man to be mine. His lips, his touch, his lust, his smile, his love. I want it all, and I’ll wait a lifetime for him if that’s what it takes.”
Bottom line? Piper was a mighty warrior wrapped up in pint sized package and I rooted for her to get her HEA with her one true soulmate.
FINAL VERDICT:
There is so much more I could say but I will wrap it up here. However, take it from me that you will lose yourself completely in this uber intense love story as it takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride of EPIC PROPORTIONS!
“What we have is a real love. It’s dark, and ugly; raw and passionate. It brings pain and it brings happiness and everything in between. This love—our love—is a love that never dies.”
Highly recommend!!
The author of this book suggests that it should be read blindly to experience all the feels to their maximum. I did just that. Yes, I read the blurb for the book to get an idea of what the book would be about. I stayed away from all reviews and the discussion group(s) cause I knew I would be tempted to sneak peeks. I read this book with no idea what it had in store for me.
Piper and Blue (aka Evan) meet in an interesting way. They meet at young ages and the book follows Piper through the years. Eventually leading up to the current year.
This book made me smile, tear up, happy, sad, upset, and even furious with characters at times.
I admire the author for addressing the mental illnesses in this book. I know it wasn’t easy cause it’s such a taboo subject. She handled it with respect and understanding and definitely no judgment.
This book is about what true love really is. When you love someone unconditionally, you go through hell and back and more because you truly love them.
I absolutely LOVED this book and I HIGHLY recommend reading it.
Be warned that there are dark themes and possible triggers in this book. Read at your own risk. To be honest, the further into the book I read I would have to pace myself and take a break from reading at some points.
So yes if you are interested in reading this book it is definitely best to go in blindly. It will be an experience you will not forget for a long time or even ever.
No Tomorrow is a heartbreakingly beautiful story about modern day love, struggles with mental illness, and the sheer strength of the human spirit. I have read thousands and thousands of books. I have discovered some authors so talented, they render me speechless. Never before have I felt like I did while reading a story, or been as spectacularly affected by a book of this calibre. I was beyond speechless, beyond moved and the feelings are indescribable. I was drawn into the story so deeply, I did not know anything else, and I stopped many times and thought about what the author was conveying and its impact on me. The way the characters were larger than life, and their personality was so much bigger and complex than could ever possibly be described with words. But somehow, Carian Cole did this. The leading man was such an enigma, unpredicatable and thoroughly enthralling. You cannot help but fall in love with him. He has this quailty that cannot be named, it is so huge. He has so many issues, it is quite physically bruising to read of him. And while it hurt my heart so bad at times, I was a slave to this man and his big heart and even bigger battered soul. Gosh he was just so addictive. That is the word that I can best describe him. His beautiful lady is a woman that knows no end to her love and devotion for him. Loving him is the hardest thing she will ever do. The life he will give her will be a constant struggle, but it is a life that will be so blinding in its intense beauty, she will thank anyone who will listen for him and all that he was, is and will be. No Tomorrow is not an easy story to read. It is not hearts and flowers, nor is it wrapped in ribbon amd bows. It is harsh reality. It is someone you know. It is something that affects everyone in the current and modern world where we have it so easy, yet so hard, and bery little privacy. Noone seems to have respect for each other anymore. No Tomorrow could be about you, your loved ones, your friends, your neighbours, a stranger you pass in the street. This author epitomises a gifted author. The talent exhibited in every paragraph is something to behold. I have never been so beautifully shaken and moved by two characters more than I have with this story. The way i disappear into a story will never be quite the same. I have been given something so special with No Tomorrow, that I honestly dont think I could ever have this feeling again. It was so profound and precious, the memories will be endless and unforgettable. 5 stars for a story that is worthy of so many more.
