No Time for Trouble by Monique McDonell is the eleventh tale in the No Brides Club series. Marnie needs a fake fiancé and she asks Mal Cooper to help her out. Mal wants the fake engagement to become a real relationship. Can Mal woo his way into Marnie’s heart? No Time for Trouble is a cute story. It is part of the series, but it can be read on its own. I thought No Time for Trouble was easy to read with realistic characters. I liked the humor sprinkled throughout the story. I loved Mal’s wooing of Marnie. I do not blame Marnie for coming up with a fake fiancé. With her mother, I would probably do the same thing. I thought this was a charming and romantic story. No Time for Trouble has secrets, surprised and sparks.
I enjoy all of the books in this series that I’ve read (The No Brides Club Series) and I felt that I liked this one and the characters in it just a little bit more than the other ones. I got a kick out of Marnie and Mal and their pretend relationship. Marnie Bates is from small-town Tennessee and is the daughter of the Mayor of Lemon Tree, Tennessee. She has escaped to New York and is involved in the television industry there when she gets a call to come home for her little sis’s engagement party and face her mama and the pull she exerts all the time for Marnie to come home and settle down.
Marnie “convinces” Mal to pretend to be her boyfriend for the upcoming to-do and, since Mal has always liked Marnie, he decides to play along and see if he can get her to see him in a different light. I loved the small town appeal of Lemon Tree, TN and all of the local sights and sounds and Marnie’s family was a real hoot.
I received a free copy of this story in exchange for my honest opinion and sure enjoyed the whole story.

I purchased a copy of the clean novel No Time for Trouble (The No Brides Club Book 11): Marnie and Mal by Monique McDonell and this review was given freely.
A delightful fast paced billionaire, attraction at first sight, love finally realized romance connecting back to book 4 containing down to earth characters, and strong, successful, caring characters who desire loving and close families of their own despite their less than “TV family” upbringings.
When new No Bride’s Club member TV producer Marnie Bate needs a ruse to protector her from her critical mother at her sister’s engagement party, Marnie picks the only male friend she knows, Her partner Georgie’s husband Liam’s business partner, advertising executive and billionaire Malcolm ” Mal” Cooper’s.

I purchased a copy of the clean novel No Time for Regrets (The No Brides Club Book 12) by Karen McCullough and this review was given freely.
A finding love and healing when not looking romance. This novel includes a slice of New York life involving unsafe low rent housing,Julie’s former paralegal cousin, college student and Beckley’s Cafe waitress Samantha “Sam” Dennis and widowed attorney Matthew R. Sentori.
Marnie has been rejecting Mal for months when she uses his name to get her judgmental mother off her back. Mal is happy to play pretend boyfriend for her trip back home for her younger sister’s engagement party. It gives him a reason to spend time with her to win her over and make her see that he and his feelings for her are for real. Marnie was stubborn, but after meeting her overly critical manipulative mom and the crazy guys she’s dated I can see why she’s uncertain about Mal. I loved that she visited the shelter regularly to play with the dogs. It was cute that Mal was a regular at the bowling alley and that he shared a love for it with Marnie. Her grandmother and his both know their own minds and are hilarious. Her father, who knew how to subtly get his point across, was great too. This was a sweet fake relationship romance.
What a delightful addition to the series.
I enjoyed the plot which was so entertaining to read with all the emotions and twists and turns.
When the characters finally got together I was rooting for them.
The characters were engaging and real.
HEA’s are one of my favorite genres and this author is one of my favorites.
Marnie is a member of the no brides club. She has been unlucky with boyfriends and decided it best to not date. She has an engagement party to attend for her sister back home. She needs a date for the event. She asks Mel, a friend, who happens to be a billionaire. She thinks he is a player, but is a friend. This is well written and made me want to keep reading.
This series has been such fun reads full of laughter, tears, finding love and learning about themselves. These ladies were so full of passion about their lives and careers that they would give up love all together. Grab your copy today and enjoy your read.
No Time for Trouble is well written, clean and easy to read with a happy ever after.
This is a great book. An awesome, well written love story with lots of steam and drama.
I’ve read all the books in this series. I don’t think I can pick a favourite. They have all been great which is not normally the case when there is more than one author creating a book as part of a series.
All the books can be read as a standalone, however, I believe you get more out of them reading them in order.
Highly recommend.
Can’t wait to check out the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Sweet Promise Press
I’ve read all of these books in the series so far, and this one felt very repetitive to me. I also had a hard time remembering who the secondary characters from the previous story were. The story really wasn’t holding my interest much as well. Looking past all that, though, the story still had issues.
I really hated Marnie! She was afraid of committing to Mal because she was afraid he was afraid of commitment! That was pretty hypocritical of her! She strung him along for so long, I wound up cheering when she finally figured out that she actually cared about him! I really wanted to throttle her! Added to that, I hated how she changed when she went back home! I kept hollering “Grow a spine!” any time she interacted with her mother, and cheered when she finally told her mom off! Marnie just wasn’t a good heroine for me.
On the other hand, though, Mal was a treat! I loved his relationship with his grandmother and how much he did to woo Marnie! I loved his earnest and down to earth nature, as well as his unwavering support of his employees and Marnie. He made the book worth reading!
This is one installment of the series that I didn’t enjoy…
Engaging characters with humor, down to earth, family-both fun loving n obnoxious, business savvy, n even 4 legged fun thrown in. Grab your copy n get to know Mal, Marnie n the rest of the gang.
A good clean series.
A book that has more depth than just being about a couple where one is pretending to be a boyfriend. It’s about the expectations of family and the good and bad that goes with it. About not judging people and learning to trust yourself
This is my favorite book in this series!!! Marnie has friend zoned Mal because she thinks he is a player – but is he really? I loved Mal and how he so very patiently wooed Marnie. She needs a date to her sister’s engagement party and I think it is quite telling that Mal’s name is the one who pops in her head when she is talking to her mom. Her mom was a piece of work and made me quite upset. Mal handled her very well and did a great job of encouraging Marnie as well as telling and showing others how awesome he thought her was. What will it take for Marnie to realize she can trust Mal and give her heart to him? If you only read one book in the series read this one!!!
I enjoyed this sweet romance a lot. A fun easy read.
I’ve enjoyed this series and that they are clean romance reads.
I received an advanced ebook and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Marnie gives Mal the chance he’s being wanting for over a year. Love it when best friends are able to connect on a much deeper level. Mal has his work cut out for him though. Marnie is stubborn. It’s more to both of them then what meets the eye though. Their story is pleasant but also gets beneath the surface, a bit humorous, a spectrum of drama and an abundance of emotion. Love conquers all. I was provided a free copy without obligation and am voluntarily reviewing.
I loved the No Brides Club series and with No Tine for Trouble by Monique McDonell it doesn’t disappoint! This is a story about a small-town girl who comes to the big city to make her mark but has given up almost everything to make it happen. What happens when your best friend introduces you to her husbands’ best friend at the No Brides Club meeting? Sparks fly, secrets are revealed and surprises galore. She shouldn’t get involved, he’s trouble. In the end, trouble is worth it. I loved getting to know these characters and seeing old friends, but to know that woman can select their own destiny that shows strength and determination.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This story tells about how life is in a small town and what Marnie deals with when she moves to the big city to start her company with Georgie. Also how Mal and his business partner Liam work together in their company. Mal came from money and his grandmother gives him some good advice he has to take into consideration.
What a great, sweet read. You knew what was going to happen in the end but I couldn’t wait to find out how. The characters were likeable and real (even though I don’t know a millionaire). The story keeps your interested and I didn’t put it down. It’s so refreshing to read something that is a good, clean book without all the sex and swearing. This truly was a refreshing read.
The book centers around Marnie who is a partner in a production company and Mel a millionaire who is in partnership in an ad agency. Mal has always had some sort of feeling for Marnie but she turned him down. When she is asked to go back home to Lemon Tree, TN, she knew she had to go with someone to make it easier and to prove she can make it in New York and not be an old maid. So she asks Mal for the huge favor of being her pretend boyfriend for the trip. This was the opportunity for Mal to get Marnie to realize they are the real thing and belong together. Everyone in Lemon Tree knew they were a cute couple and it took a long time for Marnie to realize it as well. Great, easy read with a happy ending and I would love to have a man like Mal myself.
Mal and Marnie become friends through their business partners, Liam and Georgie, respectively. Although Mal is a trust fund baby, he takes pleasure in his successful advertising agency. Marnie, a partner in a television production company, works hard and proclaims she has no time for trouble, aka a relationship. As her sister’s engagement party approaches, Marnie is expected to attend and bring her (make-believe) boyfriend to meet the family. Mal, who has secret feelings for Marnie, is delighted when she asks him to be her fake boyfriend for her return home for the weekend. Thus begins Mal’s chance to win Marnie’s heart.
As with any fake relationship story, there are many opportunities for humor and romance and this book dishes up plenty. The author has written a great story with lovable characters and provides the reader with insight into their backgrounds. The story is well-written and culminates into the happily ever after ending. 5 stars!
