No Time for Romance by Raine English is the eighth novel in the No Brides Club series. Emilia and Lizzy Sullivan own Happily Ever After and they have been hired to plan Kinsey King’s nuptials. The wedding is two weeks away when their caterer cancels. Lizzy hires Naturally Delicious and arranges for Emilia to meet with the owner. Emilia is shocked when Chase Christianson, her high school sweetheart, walks in. Emilia has never found a man who compares to her first love, Chase. She wonders why he did not show up that night they had made the special plans. Instead, Emilia has devoted herself to her career and became a member of the No Brides Club. Chase has tried to move forward with his life after Emilia failed to answer his numerous letters. They agree to work together for Kinsley’s wedding. Those old feelings are still there, but can they overcome the past. I have enjoyed each installment in the No Brides Club series and this one was no different. While No Time for Romance is part of a series, it can easily be read on its own. No Time for Love is a cute story about regrets, lost love and unresolved issues. I thought the story was well-written with good characters and it moved along at a steady pace. There is humor sprinkled throughout this appealing romance. I like Raine English’s engaging writing style which draws the reader right into the tale. I like that we get to catch up with Kinsley and see what the plans are for her wedding at the animal sanctuary. No Time for Romance is a charming story where one couple can get a second chance with their first love.
High school sweethearts who through circumstances and misunderstandings didn’t get their happy ever after. Ten years later and they end up working together. I was so glad they actually talked about their past. Wasn’t crazy that they spent time together while he let her think he was still married – but loved it after he confessed. A really romance with real feelings and problems to solve and forgiveness to receive and extend. Loved her being a twin and can’t wait for her book.
I have loved the books I have read in this series – The No Brides Club. Chase and Emilia thought it was true love 10 years ago. Because of missed chances Chase left and after a few years he married someone else. Emmy eventually was set up as a wedding planner with her sister by their father. The caterer canceled at the last minute for her friend Kinsley’s wedding. Chase was the only available caterer. Can they work together? Will he do a good job? You will want to read this to get all the details!
I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Ten years ago, Emilia and Chase were sure their love would last a lifetime, but circumstances stepped in to keep them apart and left them both with a lot of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Now, fate has brought them back together. Will they take this opportunity to clear the air or will pride and their cherished grudges keep them from straightening everything out? Second chances are my Kryptonite. I adore seeing a pair of star-crossed lovers get another chance to get their happy ever after. This story fed my addiction to drama and did it in such a sweet and adorable way. It was a quick, light read. The characters are complex enough that it was easy for me to get invested in their situation and to cheer for their reconciliation. There’s plenty of emotion, and several laugh out loud moments, too. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Emilia and Chase get their second chance.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the publisher.
This was a second chance romance. When they were teenagers Chase promised to return after culinary school and marry Emilia, but he never showed up at their meeting spot. Years later they meet again when his company is a last minute caterer for a wedding Emmy and her twin sister Lizzie are planning. She thinks he’s married because he stills wears his wedding ring and makes her think he is and she uses her sister to switch for their date, so there’s a lot of trust issues with this one. I didn’t like how they played each other that way. I loved all the animals at Kinsley’s sanctuary. It sounds like a wonderful place to visit. And all the troublesome dogs were great too. I’m looking forward to reading Lizzy’s story since she’s now a member of the No Brides Club.
Another nice addition to the No Brides Club. This is the story of Emilia and Chase. Years before, Emma and Chase had made plans to run off together. However, several seemingly innocuous events happened, causjjng a rift in their happily ever after. Never fear! A misunderstanding is not enough to keep true love waiting forever. Emilia and Chase have their HEA ending.
While the book held no surprises, this story was delightful. No suspense, just cotton candy sweetness, leaving the reader with nothing but happy thoughts.
This is book 8 in the No Brides Club series. While part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone book. Emilia (Emmy) is a member of the No Brides Club, and is partners with her sister is running a very successful wedding planning business. They are hired to plan Kinsley’s wedding. Kinsley is the first member of the No Brides Club (Book 1) to find true love, and Emmy not only wants to make this a special wedding because she is so close to Kinsley, but doesn’t want to disappoint her or cause issues to ruin the reputation of her business. When the caterer cancels on her with short notice, Emmy and Lizzy work frantically to find a new caterer, and Emmy is relieved to find out that Lizzy was able to get a referral for a caterer from her friend and arranges for Emmy to meet him. Enter Chase who has recently opened a catering business in NY, but not only that, is Emmy’s first love. Each is hurt by circumstances that kept them apart, and each one thinking the other is to blame. Will working together to put together an amazing wedding on short notice work out, or will old painful memories get in the way? Love second chance romances, and loved the different twists to this story. Highly recommend, especially if you like second chance romances.
Another bride to leave the club. Not knowing what happened in our past can make us imagine all sorts of negative ideas, and that is what happens with Emmy n Chase. Only when the truth becomes known can they move on with true feelings.
It was nice to catch up with Kinsley n Dylan n especially with Hewey.
And to see new blood with Molly in the club, I can’t wait to hear Lizzy’s awe ha moment.
This is a captivating second chance romance that is well worth reading. Emilia & Chase were together years earlier. Life got in the way leaving them heartbroken. They meet again and now have no time for romance. This is well written with a entertaining storyline. The characters are well developed and loveable. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more in this series.
I’d read most of the previous books in this series, so I wanted to check this new story out to see if a “new crew” was being featured. The story was a bit interesting, I will give it that, but wasn’t without it’s problems.
This was a second chance romance, featuring Chase and Emmy. A series of emergencies and misunderstandings kept them apart 10 years ago, then they have a chance encounter and rekindle their relationship. There seemed to be a lot of pride and missed opportunities going on with this, and unfortunately most of it gets glossed over in the book for convenience’s sake. I also didn’t care for how indecisive Emmy was! It was as if she let her past and her hormones do all the decision making for her, instead of actually thinking things through and not doing stupid things that would wind up hurting Chase in the long run.
It was good to actually see Kinsey’s wedding, and I appreciated the fact that it was a bit on the shorter side to a degree, but that brevity also wound up hurting the book, as seen by the glossing over of key points in the story that could have been expounded on to make the story richer. I’d be interested in seeing what the author can do outside of a series!
No Time For Romance: I loved how Raine English chose to have the main characters have a romance at a young age and how they both thought about each other throughout the years and how hard it was for Emmy and Chase to see each other after all the years of being apart. It was a wonderful story and well written. I loved how the story starts and the twist and turns the story too. It was fantastic! I loved the Pac that each female character had in each of the books. I love the idea of how they all wanted to own there own business and romance came last.
The No Brides Club is back to touch your heart with a ton of emotion dusted with a hint of light-hearted humor. For Emilia and Chase love was never kind. Young love left two heartbroken adults in it’s wake. Years later and much wiser, these two exes are at a crossroads. Will they risk their hearts again or this time walk away for good? No Time For Romance is full of common sense and a bit of modern fairytale. Raine puts emotions through the wringer with an inspirational brand of heartwarming magic.
What a tangled web of misunderstandings. I am convinced that Emilia & Chase are soulmates. Good thing they are forced to work together, face the past and work on the possibility of a future. Second time around can better than the first. Couple’s journey is a realistic reminder that rebuilding trust is never easy, regardless of chemistry. Great story! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.
I really enjoyed reading No Time For Romance. I was immediately drawn to and rooting for both Emilia and Chase. Despite the passing of ten years, they never got over each other. This well written, second chance romance details their path back to each other. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys clean, second chance romances.
I truly loved this story. I love the hero Chase as he is such an honorable and loving man and the heroine Emilia or Emmy as he calls her is wonderful but both have past issues with each other since one night they were going to run away to get married and it never worked out and they each blame the other.
Look ahead to ten years and they happen upon each other again while he is a chef with his own company and she is one half of a wedding planning business and their best client is getting married but her caterer just cancelled saying they were double booked. This client is also Emmy’s friend and the one who helped them get she and her sister Lizzy’s wedding planning business get off the ground.
There are problems galore with fire crackers going off all the time around Chase and Emmy even if Emmy doesn’t really want to work with him.
Problems with the biggest and best client they have, a pack of dogs that manage to get loose to run full havoc the day of the wedding and so much more.
I loved this story because it has all the things a good romance should have and even with the best intentions things will go astray.
I highly recommend this story in the No Brides Club and Ms. English really delights all the senses in this story and you can’t put it down.
I received and ARC from the author which I am grateful for, but was in no way asked to review. I am doing so because when I really love a story, I review it and this is my honest opinion on this story.
this is a good story about second chances a group of friends say they are not going to get married, but what happens when a second chance comes along. I was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review
It was such fun to return to the No Brides Club series which was one of my favorite series. I really enjoyed this book about Emilia and Chase, high school sweethearts who had planned to runaway and get married but circumstances prevented that from happening. It is now ten years later and fate has brought them back into each others lives. This was a fun, sweet story built around hurt feelings, love, and trust. It was also nice to read about Kinsley’s marriage at the animal sanctuary from the first series. I look forward to reading the other books in the series. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
You are sure to enjoy this second chance romance between Emilia and Chase. They were teenage sweethearts who pledged to be together forever but life just got in the way, as it sometimes does! They were supposed to meet at a certain place at a certain time but one of them couldn’t make it exactly on time because of an emergency and that set things in motion that effected the course of their lives. A chance meeting a decade later stirs up old feelings and regrets. Will they take a chance again or is it too late? I’m so glad the No Brides Club is continuing! I enjoyed the first series and am glad we will continue with new women! I liked Emilia and her twin sister. Can’t wait to read the next book!
Raine English provides her readers with another captivating romance in this newest installment in the No Brides Club series. We are reintroduced to Emilia, who is now works with her twin sister as a wedding planner. Her caterer for a big wedding cancels at almost the last minute and she must find a replacement. As fate would have it, her sister’s boyfriend knows of someone new in town and he is able to take the job. Only Chase isn’t really so new – he has recently returned to start his new catering business.
Working together brings challenges. Can he do the job well enough? Will Chase and Emilia be able to come to terms with their past and move forward? This is an emotional story as we learn about things beyond their control that happened to break them apart and their efforts to overcome the hurt each has carried over the years.
Even though this book is part of an series, it can easily be read as a standalone novel. I have previously read only Book 1, and while parts came back to me as I read this one, there was enough character development and background to make No Time for Romance a complete story without recalling details of the first story.
I was provided with an advance copy of this book by the author with no promise of a positive review. Any opinion expressed here is solely my own.
I really enjoyed this second chance romance. This story is sweet, poignant and heartfelt. Chase and Emilia share a painful past and strong feelings of both the good and bad variety. I liked both these characters and found it easy to root for them, while sympathizing with how they felt and the situation they were in. This was a great story that is packed with emotions that will tug at your heart as these two try to move beyond the past, lay old hurts to rest and embrace a new future.
