When six friends make a pact not to let love get in the way of their careers, the No Brides Club is born. But could meeting the right man at the wrong time cause them to break their vows to each other?Rachel Winters has less than a year until she turns thirty, and she plans to make it big-time on broadway before she hits this particularly stressing rite of passage. So, when the opportunity to … opportunity to teach young, aspiring actors at a weekend workshop presents itself, she eagerly agrees, hoping that this is the first sign her luck’s about to change.
Zander Riley once dreamed of being a star, but a badly broken heart sent his priorities spinning in an entirely different direction. Now a special education teacher, he agrees to chaperone a weekend trip to an acting workshop for the kids’ sake more than his own. If only the gorgeous instructor didn’t reignite a number of passions he’d long since cast aside.
Could it be love at first sight, or is he simply an unneeded obstacle to Rachel’s ambition? Can Zander learn to open his heart once more, even if it means it could break worse than ever before? And will these two theater lovers ultimately set the stage for romance… or tragedy?

I purchased a copy of the clean novel No Time for Regrets (The No Brides Club Book 12) by Karen McCullough and this review was given freely.
A finding love and healing when not looking romance. This novel includes a slice of New York life involving unsafe low rent housing,Julie’s former paralegal cousin, college student and Beckley’s Cafe waitress Samantha “Sam” Dennis and widowed attorney Matthew R. Sentori.
This is the third book in this series and it is just as enjoyable as the previous books. Rachel and Zander both had bad experiences in previous relationships but they can’t deny their feeling for each other, even though they try. The No Brides Club members have all sworn off men and relationships to focus on their careers but one by one they are falling. This is a delightful read, it is short and sweet and has a HEA.
Rachel and Zander are either great for each other because of their shared “burned by love in the past” history or it’s too similar to make it work! I liked this story because Zander was a great guy and he made it work for me! Rachel wasn’t my favorite but she eventually came around to me! I don’t know why she didn’t “click” with me but sometimes that happens. However, I loved Zander’s character. He was sweet, funny, romantic and I loved that he was a teacher. The “supporting cast” of secondary characters are also fun. I was disappointed that the No Brides Club women weren’t more prominent throughout the book but they finally came in later. I enjoy their characters! Overall, I enjoyed the book and the story.
It’s starting
Rachel is trying not be late but if it hadn’t been for the noisy upstairs neighbor she wouldn’t have woken up. She is doing the workday as a favor for the director. Zander wanted to on Broadway except he followed something else but he enjoy working with the kids at the school for children with special needs. They are there for a workshop. But when Rachel falls down the stairs while showing the kids the balcony. Things get interesting.
Broadway Beckons
In this, the third of the “No Brides Club” novels (each stands alone), our heroine has made it to Broadway, albeit in the chorus, and is career focused after a wrong turn in her youth which has soured her on the prospect of Happily Ever After. With the other club members equally focused on careers and their mutual friendship, conquering the Big Apple is achievable. But . . . what about love? Into her life appears Zander, whose own career was similarly forced off track. Lots of introspection as each discovers the meaning of approach avoidance.
(I received this ARC to voluntarily read and review.)
No Time for Promises (No Bride’s Club #3) by Lindsay Detwiler
Both Rachel and Zander had sworn off love, because of past hurts. Rachel, a broadway star in New York. Zander, a special education teacher. But the day Rachel walked in to teach a weekend workshop and she spotted Zander. Everything changed. As the story went on, they both learned why they were so against loving again and they both grew closer to one another. With a few blood along the way and even breaking up. Rachel and Zander both found their way back to each other!
I thought this story was very sweet and I loved the characters!!
This was a good story!
This is another great story from this series.
Rachel Winters is trying to succeed on Broadway before turning thirty. When the opportunity arises to teach young aspiring actors, she immediately accepts.
Zander Riley dreamed of being a star, but a broken heart changed his priorities. When he agrees to take his students to an acting workshop, he didn’t expect the feelings that the beautiful instructor would ignite him.
They will have to find out if this attraction they feel for each other is a true feeling, or just a way for Rachel to reach her goals.
This story is very well written and the characters are great.
I highly recommend the reading.
Can finding common ground and an undeniable attraction cause two damaged people, intent on remaining single, to fall in love? The third book in the No Brides Club series doesn’t disappoint with love, laughter and a story you can’t put down.
I had a hard time getting through this book. I felt it had a lot of repetitive monologues. There was a repetitive theme but I felt the author was trying to make word count. I just couldn’t stay focused.
I have read other reviews that showed they enjoyed the story so take a chance it could be your favorite.
No Time for Promises by Lindsay Detwiler is book 3 of the No Brides Club series. This is a sweet and clean series with standalone books. I loved the well developed characters of Rachel and Zander and the storyline that keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next. I enjoy this series and I am looking forward to book 4!
“… she told herself she didn’t have time for this. Even then, old habits were hard to break.” “She told herself she couldn’t make him any promises, and that she shouldn’t.’ “And it was with that kiss, the second one that radiated a new kind of heat, that Rachel knew she was a goner, promises or not.” Rachel and Zander’s story is a sweet read and you should check it out. I received an ARC copy and it was well worth my time to read.
Being reluctant doesn’t stop love!
In No Time For Promises (Book 3 in the No Brides Club Series), Rachel is trying to become a broadway star, while Zander is a special education teacher with a broken dream for acting. Both are reluctant to engage in a relationship. Unfortunately, I was frustrated that it wasn’t until about halfway through the book, that we learn both their reasons! I found Zander to be more open and more romantic than Rachel. I was also frustrated with the rest of the No Brides Club members not being well integrated this time. I love the interactions between these women, but it felt like a last minute addition or a “oops, what about the others”.
I received an ARC copy of this book courtesy of Sweet Promise Press and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
No Time for Promises is the third installment from the No Brides Club series. I have enjoyed this series so far and Lindsay Detwiler’s addition to it does not disappoint. I loved Rachel and Zander’s story. I found it to be fun and delightful.
I give No Time for Promises four and a half stars. I recommend this short and sweet read.
I received this book from the kindle unlimited program. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
Rachel Winters was trying to make it on Broadway as an actress when she falls off the balcony demonstrating to a group of special needs children and their teacher Lander Riley. Lander ends up taking care of her and they immediately connect over their love of theater. But after her high school boyfriend tried to control her and crush her dreams, she vows to put her career first and not allow herself to fall in love again. Lander was also hurt by his high school love, which he also put aside his dreams for before she cheated on him. He thinks his dreams of acting are over. But Rachel makes him see the possibilities and opens his heart to love again. This story was not without drama as they both have trust issues to overcome. I loved the children at Zander’s school. I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series.
The power of having someone beside you
Rachel, Broadway actress, is determined that her career comes first. So when she gets attention from some blue-eyed hunk she doesn’t like it. No. Having been hurt in the past, she can’t let this man in.
Zander is a special education teacher. His first passion is the theater. But he let someone take that dream away from him. That someone being his ex, who broke his heart when she cheated on him.
Their background stories have a lot of similarities. Both are scared to take that chance. Scared to open up their hearts again. Will they find each other or will they let fear rule?
I really liked this book. It had a warm feel to it. I really liked both Zander and Rachel. The story was sweet and inviting and romantic. I like positive, happy books. With a level of depth added to it, so it’s even more meaningful.
But it wasn’t perfect. Maybe the negative feelings were drawn out just a bit too much. The thought processes were sometimes too long, the same insecurities again and again. And at the beginning of the epilogue there was a sort of recap of the story, which didn’t add anything. But I still really liked it and I will be reading more by this author.
The third book in the No Bride Club, this was another sweet read. The characters in the storyline were another good pairing, I did miss the ladies from the No Brides Club, they didn’t play a big a part as they did in the first two books of the series.
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first two in the series. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I prefer a clean, wholesome romance and would characterize this as a sweet romance. The sex in past relationships was just hinted at by phrases like “our apartment.” There is a lot of drinking. I did like that Zander and Rachel were so supportive of each other’s dreams and that Zander was a special ed. teacher who loved his students.
Another great story in the No Brides Club series!
Realistic, enjoyable and entertaining story with some laughs and some tears.
This is a good story, however, I did enjoy the previous two books more.
