No Time for Lullabies is book 2 in the No Brides Club Series. It’s a wonderful, heartwarming read that you’re sure to love.
This is a well written, emotionally engaging story. I love the characters and the way they feel about each other. The story has twists and turns, ups and down, tears and joy. I loved it!
Melody and Brody’s story will touch you and have you believing in second chances, even 10 years later! I have to say that in this book, I liked Brody the best! Melody was a good character but she was kind of mean to Brody and he must have really loved her to stay IN love with her for so many years because she pushed him away at every turn! However, she did have a dream and she wanted to follow it so you can’t fault her for that. I just have a tendency to put my personal personality and preferences onto characters in books – ha ha!!!! The No Brides Club are women that have decided to put their careers first and foremost over anything else, especially romance and Melody has done that. She is a famous songwriter and lives a fancy live in NYC but she can’t quite forget her first love – Brody – although it’s been 10 years. You’ll have to read the book and see why she becomes an instant mother, something she never thought she’d become! Brody is now a pediatrician so their lives become tangled once again! A truly sweet book!
This is a really sweet second chance romance. Melody and Brody’s love story is enough to melt your heart but throw in sweet baby Macey and you can’t not want them to get a HEA. There is a great storyline and wonderful characters. This is the second book in the No Brides Club series.
Loved the emotion of a hero and heroine who have basically loved themselves for their entire lives. A story that shows that love endures and that dreams can still come true. A well-written, quick read from Sydney Logan.
Very heart-warming a relatable second-chance romance
No Time for Lullabies
The No Brides Club, Book 2
By: Sydney Logan, Sweet Promise Press
Narrated by: Stephanie Willing
Each book of the No Brides Club series has me hooked in the first chapter. I am loving these stories. This one by Sydney Logan features Melody and Brody, childhood sweethearts. When circumstances occur right out of high school, Melody takes off to find her new happiness and leaves Brody behind with a broken heart. Now she is returning upon the death of her cousin to take on a whole new responsibility. But what will happen when she sees Brody? Will the spark still be there? And will she return to New York to continue her dream? And is it still her dream? I love, love, love this! Brody is quite the man. I love how time has let him mature, finding his path but never really giving up on his forever girl. Melody is forced to face her demons, and start a new phase of life. I love how these two meld together and the ending just melts my heart. Can’t wait for more.
Stephanie Willig is a wonderful narrator and I really enjoy her voice. She has an innocence that shines through and helps form her characters. Easily flowing from male to female voices, she lets us feel and understand how theses characters think. And the little suspense is built up too with her inflections. I loved her performance.

My Litte Runaway
This is book two in a six book series by six different authors about a group of six career women who’ve concluded that they are quite content to focus on themselves and their careers and consign dating to the “let’s just have fun” category. I have to say, remembering my own dating years, that not having to do that fumbling “could he be the one?” meet-and-greet chitchat makes for a far more pleasant and relaxed evening! So, there is continuity–the same group of six women who meet every Thursday for drinks, dinner, and “dishing” (discussion, if you prefer)–but the story is utterly independent and standalone. Also, strong, well-written, well-plotted, natural, and altogether a wonderful read.

No Time for Lullabies (No Brides Club, Book 2) by Sydney Logan
This was the first book for me to read by this author and I loved it! Second chance romances are one of my favorite themes to read about and this did not disappoint!
Mel and Brody were childhood sweethearts until their own personal tragedy of a miscarriage changed everything for them. Melody moved to Tennessee then was transferred to New York with a booming music writing career. Brody goes away to a different state to college. They find each other again when she attends an unexpected funeral for her cousin and then finds herself the legal guardian of her cousin’s baby girl, Macy. They both find their way back to one another and learn that they never stopped loving one another! This was a beautiful story!!
My first book in this series, and my first by this author. Super sweet, heartwarming and romantic. I loved the storyline and everything about this story.
No Time for Lullabies by Sydney Logan is the first book I have read by this author but it is the second book in the No Brides Club series. These stories are fairly short and they are sweet and clean. These are all standalone stories but have some recurring characters. This story of Melody and Brody pulls you in as you keep turning the pages. A little bit of heartache, a little bit of suspense, a lot of indecision and a lot of love make up this story. This is a wonderful story!
I’ve long been a fan of Sydney Logan’s novels. Over the years, she has become of one my automatic one-click authors and, as a result, my expectations run high with each new release. As a writer, Sydney is a master of sweet romance. Whether her stories feature characters in their twenties, searching for their place in the world, or whether they spotlight the highs and lows of adolescent first love, Sydney’s talent never fails to captivate this middle-aged wife and mom. Simply put, Sydney makes romance appear effortless to her readers, so I’m more than happy to recommend her books to adults and teens alike, confident that both will connect with her stories.
No Time For Lullabies is the second book in The No Brides Club, a series of six novels, each written by individual authors. The series centers on a group of six strong, independent women who have all sworn off marriage. This installment specifically focuses on Melody Mitchell, an award winning songwriter living in New York City. Her professional success is a contradiction to her personal life. Years earlier, Melody fled her small town home and her first love after suffering disgrace as a teenager. She’s managed to avoid reconnecting with her past ever since until her the sudden, tragic death of her cousin.
When Melody returns home to attend the funeral, she is shocked to discover that she has been named guardian of her cousin’s infant daughter. Unable to duck in and duck right back out, she must remain in town until the matter is resolved. It doesn’t take long before she bumps into Dr. Brody Myers, the local pediatrician and Melody’s ex-boyfriend. On the surface it might appear that Brody has moved on from Melody, but he has never forgotten her, and he has remained an eligible bachelor.
It doesn’t take long for sparks to fly again after Melody and Brody are reunited. Once the two move past the initial awkwardness, they fall back into their old friendship. But there are complications on both sides. Having already vowed never to marry and fully expecting to return to New York City, Melody struggles with her emotions and finally facing the consequences of her unresolved past. Meanwhile, Brody struggles with opening his heart back up to Melody, worried that she’ll only break it all over again.
This dynamic between Melody and Brody is a perfect showcase of Sydney Logan’s skill as a storyteller. Within the pages of this book, I was caught up in the sweetness of the second chance romance. I admired Melody for her maturity when she was blindsided with the prospect of unexpected motherhood. I respected Brody not only for his professionalism as a doctor, but also for his empathy. Rather than holding on to heartbreak and anger, Brody understands Melody’s predicament and offers his support. But overall, I was moved by the theme of unconditional love that rose to the surface in the wake of an unthinkable tragedy. No Time For Lullabies is an unputdownable novel that runs the full spectrum of emotion and one that I enthusiastically recommend.
What does a career-minded woman with no desire to get married do when a death in the family threatens to derail all of her plans? Melody and Brody’s story (past and present) is realistic and sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed Melody’s growth as she shifts from a life that’s all about her to a life lived for others.
No Time for Lullabies is a sweet second chance romance. Sydney Logan pulls you in right away and keeps you captivated with real and broken characters who find their way back to each other through a child. Macy and Brody are a perfect match, who although childhood sweethearts, needed a time apart to grow before their HEA. I loved this story and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read a clean sweet romance!
Melody Mitchell has the career and the life she’s always dreamed of- an award-winning songwriter. She doesn’t have time for any distractions like food, phone calls…or love for that matter. She’s been there, done that, and she doesn’t want to go back down that road again. Yet when a sudden family tragedy calls Mel back to Meadow Creek, she’ll find herself wondering and questioning everything that she’s done on the road to fame and success, especially when she’s named guardian of a freshly orphaned and lonely infant named Macy Rose.
There’s a small catch, though- Mel isn’t able to have a family of her own naturally. True, she has a 10% of carrying a baby to full term, but that’s not enough for Melody. She’s sworn off motherhood and love. But can she keep her promise when she meets her childhood sweetheart Brody Myers *and* be a guardian to Macy?
Small-town pediatrician Dr. Brody Myers can’t forget the girl who rocked his world when they were eight years old. Sweethearts until the day Mel said that she didn’t love him anymore, he can’t get her beautiful green eyes and dark brown hair out of his mind…that is, until, a family emergency brings them face-to-face after more than a decade away from each other. With a baby now in the picture, Brody believes that this is his chance to them to be the family that they could never have.
Will Mel leave everything in New York behind for her small-town doctor and a sweet baby girl? Or is she going to continue doing what she’s done for so long- running away and never looking back.
I LOVE THIS BOOK! <3 😀 <3
No Time For Lullabies by Sydney Logan is a delightful sweet story of Melody Mitchell and Brody Myers. They were high school sweethearts and broke up after they lost their baby. Years later Melody returns home and has to decide whether to become her cousins baby’s guardian at the same time coming to terms with seeing Brody again. Melody came to terms of living without a family, living single in NYC and struggles with her decisions to become a mother and her growing attraction to Brody. Love this book.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review of it.
Love won’t stop by running!
In No Time For Lullabies (Book 2 of the No Brides Club Series), we learn about Melody Mitchell’s return to her hometown following the death of her cousin. Melody had left to make a name for herself as a songwriter and music producer while escaping some painful memories of her previous life. Now she is coming face to face with those memories.
Melody is now the guardian of her cousin’s baby! And she has to face the man she loved but ran from their relationship! Now she has to figure out how to live a different life than she anticipated and she needs to learn to accept help in all its various forms and resources. Brody Myers is Melody’s childhood sweetheart, but after Melody ran away following a tragedy, he is hurt. But he has grown into a man that can forgive and he still loves Melody (and she still loves him). He is a man who shows his love for her and the baby (Macy) in every way!
It was frustrating to see how Melody’s parents were overwhelming, but we didn’t really learn anything about Brody’s parents. Meanwhile, the other women of the No Brides Club were a welcome addition and showed how their support was helping Melody deal with all the changes in her life and her new/old relationship.
