When six friends make a pact not to let love get in the way of their careers, the No Brides Club is born. But could meeting the right man at the wrong time cause them to break their vows to each other?Brooke Collins thought she had everything she wanted. Since relocating from her small town to work as an Oncology Nurse at one of Manhattan’s most respected children’s hospitals, she’s worked hard … worked hard to make a life for herself in the big city. When a life-threatening emergency takes place back home, every choice she has made in the past three years is suddenly called into question.
As a firefighter, Austin Jensen knows how to handle a fire, but that doesn’t help when dealing with old flames. When his ex comes back to town and old feelings begin to resurface, he begins to wonder iif the connection between them is worth risking getting burned again.
Sparks fly in this sweet, second chance romance as Brooke finds new reasons to stay in Lawson Heights and leave her life in the city behind while Austin remains unsure of what their future may be. Should they fan the flames or douse them with water and walk away for good?

I absolutely love Christina Butrum’s books. Everyone has characters you will fall in love with. Brooke and Austin were childhood friends who fell in love. Everyone thought they would be forever. Some things may not works out or may take time.
Brooke left for her dreams….Austin stayed for his. Brooke went home for her mom….going home seemed to be just what she needed, can this be the beginning they need to be complete?
I enjoy this author so much. Each book blows me away. I wanted this book to go on forever. The writing was amazing and pulled me in.
Brooke & Austin grew up together & were an item until Brooke decided that there was nothing for her in her little town & moved to the big city to become a Pediatric Oncology Nurse. Her heart would break when one of the children she took care of died, yet she’d be full of joy when others got well and got to go home, but either way it was tough saying Good Bye to them. She had all she thought she wanted until Austin called and told her she had to get home right away. She finally got out of him that her mother was being taken to the hospital after having a serious stroke. Brooke was so worried, she wouldn’t get to the hospital in time to say Good Bye to her mother if she passed, yet she was torn because she didn’t want to leave her kids, one who was dying at the hospital where she worked. She knew she belonged home with her mother. Got to the hospital while she was in surgery. Miracles do happen. Brooke realized where he really belonged in life. This was a wonderful, yet heart wrenching story. Now I need to go back and read the others in this series.
A sweet second chance romance. A late night phone call from her ex telling her she needed to come home because her mother has been rushed to hospital turns Brooke’s world upside down. Returning home she finds that maybe she didn’t need to go to New York to get everything she already had but she will miss the friends she made in The No Brides Club. A great addition to this series.
No Time for Goodbyes
The No Brides Club, Book 7
By: Christina Butrum, Sweet Promise Press
Narrated by: Carrie Coello
This is my first Christina Butrum story, and I really enjoyed it. It’s a sweet, second chance romance that also gives Brooke a second chance at her life. Not that her life in Manhattan isn’t a good one. Brooke is a pediatric oncology nurse, and though she loves her job, it definitely takes an emotional toll on her. When she receives a phone call that her mother has suffered from a stroke, she is on the next plane home to be by her side. Now there, holding her hand, and being with her ex-boyfriend Austin, she is able to re-evaluate her life, her values and what she wants to do. I love small town stories, and Brooke is the perfect character to come back from the big city and enter back into the no secrets, everyone knows everything world. She is a great character, slightly flawed, and confused, and I love how she works through her life plan to figure out what is best for her. Austin is the perfect book boyfriend, always present and up front. The support from her No Brides Club friends just is icing on the cake!
Carrie Coello is a wonderful narrator and I love how she brought this to life. She gave Brooke a slightly jaded, yet very worried attitude when she first arrives, We can feel the push-pull of her very different lives and Coello lets us feel her conflict. I also love her many voices. It’s a great performance.

This is a sweet and clean read. I had a rather hard time with it though mainly due to Brooke’s behavior. I found her to be an angry person (maybe because of her choice 3 years earlier) who treated people rudely. She is a nurse, however, when he own mother is hospitalized, she treats the nurses and doctors disrespectfully and is non apologetic about it.
I received a free copy of this book and have voluntarily left this review.
I enjoyed this audiobook. The storyline flowed nicely and kept me interested. The narrator did a good job of character voices and bringing the story to life. I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
** Audiobook review ** I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. Carrie Coello did a phenomal job narrating this book! I really enjoyed this sweet, clean, second chance romance. The story gives you a very small glimpse into the life of a pediatric oncology nurse. Kudos to Christina Butrum for diving into this topic. Such a heartwarming story that has moments of sadness but focuses more on the positive. This is book #7 in the No Brides Club series but can be read as a stand alone. This was my first introduction to the series & I honestly can’t wait to read the other books in the series. I highly recommend listening to this audiobook (or read it if you aren’t a fan of audiobooks)

I purchased a copy of the clean novel No Time for Regrets (The No Brides Club Book 12) by Karen McCullough and this review was given freely.
A finding love and healing when not looking romance. This novel includes a slice of New York life involving unsafe low rent housing,Julie’s former paralegal cousin, college student and Beckley’s Cafe waitress Samantha “Sam” Dennis and widowed attorney Matthew R. Sentori.
I am a little torn on this one. The characters were facing every day struggles nothing to drastic. That being said, I found Brooke Collins to be a selfish person. Brooke left her small town in Iowa to become a pediatric oncology nurse at a large Manhattan hospital. She loves her job so much that she left her mom and a fiance behind and never returned in 3 years. Many times her mom asked her to visit but she never did. Then in the middle of the night she gets a text from Austin (the ex-fiance) that her mom is being rushed to the hospital and it doesn’t look good.
Now I get Brooke is under a great deal of stress but she was very sharp and abrupt with the staff at the hospital taking care of her mother. She is also that way with Austin. He is a wonderful guy that still loves Brooke and wants to help in any way that he can. Brooke is torn about wanting to go back to New York but needing to take care of her mother. In New York, she has patients that she is close to and her friends of the No Brides Club. On the other hand, she wants to return to Iowa and be with her mother (and as the story goes on Austin).
Now I know going to New York was a great dream of hers. This was her time and place to grow. Getting a look into her thoughts really showed the conflict that she was going through. Austin also has his conflicts. He is still in love with Brooke and getting hurt along the way. He is unsure if she will stay or go back. The dual POV format shows this conflict that these two characters face making them so much more normal as again this is more realistic.
Where I have the problem is Brooke. I had a hard time to identify with her. Now I am older than the early 20’s character. While I had the hard time doesn’t mean that someone else (younger) may identify and relate to her much better. Also it was only in the Epilogue that I felt the story really ended. It wasn’t just a bonus to enhance the story. To me, it was the true ending.
This was a sweet, clean second-chance romance that anyone could enjoy.
This was my first book of the No Brides Club series. I love second chance romance, and I love when it’s a second chance with someone whom you grew up with. Brooke comes back home from NY because her mother becomes ill and Austin is there when she gets to the hospital where her mother is being treated. Love always finds its way back when your feelings for one another are still there. Now I have to read the others in this No Brides Club. Christina is a wonderful Author whose books I will always read. They are page turners you can’t put down and leave you wanting more more more!!!!
A beautiful, poignant story of a woman torn between her career and family obligations after her mom has a stroke and she has to fly home from Manhattan to her small, hometown in Iowa. She has to face her past and Austin, the man she left behind for the city. She also has to do some soul searching as to what she really wants or needs. I really liked the characters in this story and returning to the No Brides Club in Manhattan. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Great story looking forward to reading more by this author
Totally read this in a day. I have loved everything by this author so far, she does not disappoint! I am super curious about the No Brides Club now. They seem like an amazing group of ladies.
I was all set to give this book 5 stars UNTIL the last chapter. The ending felt rushed and, while it doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, the storyline seemed unfinished.
This is the story of Brooke and Austin who were childhood and high school sweethearts until their paths diverged. Brooke wanted to be a nurse and move to a large city while Austin wanted to stay in their home town as a fireman.
Brooke had been gone for 3 years (read: never came back home) when an emergency phone call brings her running.
Reuniting with Austin is both painful and awkward. As the medical crisis passes, Brooke has to make an important decision concerning her future. Remain in Small Town, Iowa or pursue her career in New York City? Inquiring readers will want to know!
This is a sweet, clean contemporary Christian romance.
I didn’t know this before I started reading this that it was a sweet and clean romance. So there’s no sexy scenes. There is kissing. I did enjoy Brooke and Austin’s story though. It’s a second chance romance with a little tragedy thrown in. I did wish there would have been more. I feel like their relationship was still up in the air. We don’t see Austin and Brooke together at the end.
No Time for Goodbyes is a sweet, engaging, second chance romance. The characters were well written and interesting. Brooke made a life for herself in New York as an pediatric oncology nurse. Her ex boyfriend Austin phones to tell Brooke that her Mom is being rushed to the hospital. Once Brooke is home again, she begins to question all the decisions that led her to New York. Austin stays with Brooke’s mother until Brooke arrives. This is their story of trying to resolve their past. I could not put the book down and highly recommend it.
Brooke left her mom and boyfriend Austin behind in Ohio to pursue her dreams of being an oncology nurse at a children’s hospital in NYC. It takes her mother being in a life threatening hospital emergency to make her go back. Austin has always loved her, but he won’t leave their hometown and is afraid to fly. He’s a good guy, but a bit stubborn about things. They get closer through this crisis, but she’s still torn between two worlds. Maybe by leaving and following her dreams it gave her a chance to better appreciate what she had at home. I couldn’t work in a children’s cancer ward. It would rip my heart out when any of my patients didn’t make it. I appreciate the strong hospital staff who do jobs like that every day with a smile. This was a clean romance with sad and funny moments and drama.
The narrator has a clear tone with voice changes and emotional inflections in all right place to keep me interested in listening to the story to the end.
Brooke and Austin were best friends growing up. Then it turned into something more. This book has drama, suspense, friendship, love, and romance. I really enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
This is the first book I’ve read in the No Brides Club series, but it was a lot of fun. Christina Butrum is an author I think of when I need a sweet romance that happens to take place in a small town. She’s amazing fitting a wonderful story and characters in a book you don’t want to put down.
Brooke is living her dream as an oncology nurse in a children’s hospital and loves her job. She move away from her small town home to do what she’s loving now. Love isn’t on her mind and she’s happy with her friends in the No Brides Club.
Austin is a firefighter who works hard to keep his small town safe. He just never expects to have to call someone he really loved to come home when tragedy strikes. Seeing her again for the first time in years, will definitely be interesting.
No Time For Goodbyes is an emotional story that definitely had tears in my eyes a time or two. She made me feel for Brooke, because I can’t imagine seeing my mother in the same situation. Especially being a nurse and knowing how bad things can get.
Austin and Brooke definitely still care for each other. I loved how Austin was still there for Brooke even after how everything had gone down before Brooke left. She really needed support and he didn’t think twice to help. It was interesting to slowly see them find each other again. Brooke also slowly finds her love for this small town again.
If you’re looking for a really beautiful second chance romance, definitely pick this one up! The No Brides Club is definitely a group of friends you want to read about!
