A raven assassin will be her greatest ally, or her worst enemy.Mika knew the Council of Paranormals would suspect her, which is why they assigned a raven to ‘guard’ her. But there is a ‘we’ behind the killer and she has no idea if that they are still out there, or worse, still on the island of Morgana waiting for the right opportunity to strike again. With Malachi being distant, Ethan, Lucien, and … Ethan, Lucien, and Audrey have to work without her to follow the dangling strings, while Mika tries to win the assassin to her side. Will the raven help her unlock the secrets of her magic, or will he turn her in and be the end of everything she knows and loves?
This is a steamy reverse harem romance.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
I so love Mika!! She is really starting to come into her own by this point too which is getting quite awesome I must admit. Her powers are fantastic yet still make us guess what will come next. For this installment she had been assigned a Raven by the Council to pretty much watch her every move. This may make it complicated to keep investigating what happened but it sure does not stop her. There is some damage control between her and her guys too. The individual scenes are quite impressive highlighting why they are who they are. I love Dean’s writing since she makes it impossible to stop reading once I get going! A total must read for fans of witchy Academy RH. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
Another great instalment in the Morganna series that just left me wanting more. I was hooked from the first page and finished this book in one sitting, leaving me desperate to the next book, fast paced and steamy, tI can’t wait for the next book in the series, this has become one of my favourite series.
Lord what a story. It is one that pulled me in until I reached the end. It was gripping and so very intriguing. It is packed full of suspense and mystery. It has so much action and drama. It is breathtakingly beautiful with all of its descriptions that allows you to feel like part of the story. The descriptions are radiant as this allows you to easily picture how the scenes play out. I am absolutely intrigued with this story and can’t wait to see where it leads.
5 stars for No Rest for The Wicked by Emma Dean. This is book three in the University of Morgana : Academy of Enchantments and Witchcraft series. “Witches were warriors once.” Now that Mika knows what she is , she has to decide what to do about it. She now has an assassin (the Raven) following her. Corbin might just be my favorite, I am really hoping he is meant to be her Raven. Be ready for a rollercoaster ride that you will not want to get off of. There is some steamy scenes in this book.( Finally right!) Mika is on a crazy ride and I can’t wait to read more about it.
the book was too good
With everything happening you would think a Raven assassin/bodyguard would be the last thing on Mika’s mind, but what if.. what if he is the key to everything. This book has so many wonderful scenes thanks to Corbin, the Raven, and Mika’s family conflict with her sister. We get to see Mika completely embrace who she is and stand up to her sister as well as get much more information about the morrigans and the ravens. Between trying to figure out Corbin, her feelings for him, and get on the dodgeball team while fighting a secret society that’s trying to open Hell this book is a quite a ride. The deepening of the mythology is long anticipated as more information comes to light each novel. The look at Lucifer was refreshing along with his interactions with Jessica, Mika, and Eisheth.
Oh I LOVE this series!!! In this book Mika uncovers more about her Morrigan heritage, and about those who are after her. She still has much to learn on most things. But Slowly she’s unlocking her powers. Not to mention her group is put to the test. From a few interesting comments dropped by one of her enemies, it appears people close to her were also against her. I am loving how Mika is becoming as strong magically as her inner strength. I definitely recommend this series!
I love Mika and I love her more after this book. She doesn’t take anything from anyone and she is amazing. She gives zero F*cks and it is amazing. Even, when she knows she should temper herself, she doesn’t.
We meet her Raven. We get some information about Malachi, we also get an angsty Malachi (not a good look). We get Mika at her most badass thus far.
The Funeral Scene MADE ME SO HAPPY!!!!! I know it isn’t supposed to, but Mika just found it. It was beautiful.
I love this book series. I love this book for what it is. It is to get us to a certain point, but still has action. We get some great reveals on the plot.
Also, my absolute favorite scene is Mika flipping off Satan as she walks off (not today satan), well Lucifer, but still the same thing. I died. The voice in my head was screaming “YAAAASSSSSS GURLLL” in Johnathan van Ness’ voice.
I look forward to learning more about Corbin. The trek Mika will take going back home. Dealing with the TA and her other men. And how in the world is going to change. It is going to change, it has to. The witch world is about to get rocked by some bombs.
Witches Were Warriors Once
This series is highly addicting. First since this is a series you do need to read in order. So start with book 1 as they are not stand alone. This is such a page turner for a rainy Sunday afternoon, so that is when I read it. Loved it very much with my mug of tea. Now Mika is still learning more and more about her Morrigan heritage and the ones trying to hunt her down. I love how she progresses and more of her power is showing and perhaps her group is growing. It’s a very interesting read that I could not put down so I’m sure you’ll love it like I did.
Another great book is this series. I think it might be my favorite so far.
I’m loving the way that Mika is finally coming into her own powers as a Morganna. The scene when she went home was one of my favorites. Mika learns alot about the history or her people, the good and the bad. This bolsters her confidence and I love it.
Of course the raven doesn’t make it easy for her, but she has friends that are there for her while she deals with the raven. Corbin was a great addition to the book even though he need not talk all the time.
Of course we get to see some more of the characters we love from Emma deans older books, as well as interact with some more characters.
Another great book by Emma Dean…can’t wait to see what the summer holds for Mika.
