After reading True to Me I couldn’t wait to read No Place too Far. It is a wonderful sequel following Quinn as she finds herself and family on Maui. It is filled with characters that are struggling to know and find themselves but are growing at the same time. This book is about relationships with yourself, family and friends, sometimes intense and complicated but also filled with love and support. There are some intense chapters with some unexpected twists. I could not put this book know and I felt like I was on Maui with them all. Don’t miss this one! Looking forward to a possible third book in this series.
No Place Too Far – A wonderful read
Set in beautiful Maui, this is a story of old and new friendships; of family coming together after a betrayal; and unexpected twists that haunt the main character. The characters are down to earth, the storyline is enjoyable, and the suspense is just enough to give the story some mystery. No Place Too Far has several meanings in the story, so it was the perfect title. If you haven’t read the story previous to this, “True to Me” be sure to read the first, as there is some backstory that continues into this book. Both are wonderful reads that you won’t want to put down.
I’ve just finished reading No Place Too Far. Kay tells us more about Quinn and Liam and introduces us to Maggie, Quinn’s best friend as well as letting us visit Maui without actually being there! The story telling is fantastic, I loved Joe’s character – he brings laughter to Maggie’s life! I can’t wait for the next book in the By the Sea series.
Kay Bratt writes heartfelt, meaningful books with great characters, and this one is no exception.
Maggie has been on the run from a stalker for over a year. When the opportunity comes to move to Hawaii to be close to her best friend, and an ocean away from her stalker, she takes it. Finding her feet is hard, but she is finally settling down when the worst happens…her stalker finds her, even though he is supposed to be in prison. She is back on alert, but how far can you run on an island?
Book two in the By the Sea series, you get to see more of Quinn, Maggie’s BFF, and her new life in Maui. There is romance, suspense, and a twisty little plot line that may keep you guessing. Doggies and hunky veterinarians add a bit of spice, as does a past love of Maggie’s. Altogether a nice read. 4 1/2 stars.
So grateful to the author and publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of this amazing and beautiful book. Book 2 in the series ( True To Me is book # 1) and it was just as exceptional as the first book. In book # 1 we have Quinn’s story and we are introduced to her friend Maggie. This book is Maggie’s story. She moved to be with Quinn and to hopefully escape her stalker and feel safe for once. That is all I am going to say as I don’t want to give too much away . If you read book # 1 and loved it or if you haven’t but you love Kay Bratt, read the first book then get this one ! And if you have never read a book by Kay Bratt, well what are you waiting for ? Now is your chance !!!
Maggie and Quinn are both living with their own past on the beautiful island of Maui. I’ve never been to Maui, but I know it’s beautiful because Kay Bratt paints a beautiful picture of the island. The story centers around Maggie trying to get her life together after her stalker has gone to prison. Her best friend Quinn lives on Maui and has invited Maggie to the island to put her life back together. Maggie and her son Charlie arrive and it looks like they will finally be able to put the pieced back together. Then the tables turn. Quinn is living with her own past and has some hard decisions to make about her future. I love how Kay has put both stories into the one book and we finally get to see how Quinn’s life comes together after reuniting with her family. I read this book in three days. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend reading True To Me first to get the whole story.
What a great book by Kay Bratt! The characters in this book were so relatable. They are real people with real lives who have real problems. The beauty of this book for me were the descriptions of the island. There was so much detail I almost felt like I was there seeing the landscape, the flowers, smelling and hearing the ocean. Definitely a book I would recommend! Thank you to Kay Bratt and Netgalley for the ARC of this book!
As usual Kay Bratt has given her readers a story that is intriguing and well-told with characters whom they will care about. We met Maggie Dalton in Bratt’s last book, True to Me,learning of how she had been stalked. Now Maggie has moved to Maui, hoping it would be a safe haven for her and her son, Charlie. No Place Too Far also continues her best friend Quinn’s story, which will please readers of this series.
This story and the writing in general would be a five star read for a wide range of readers except for one thing. This book is heavily sprinkled with profanity, which is a shame because I doubt many of Bratt’s readers would say that they wished one of her books contained more foul language, but I bet many will say they wish this one had contained less.
I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of No Place Too Far from the author via NetGalley. All opinions stated here are my own.
If I could give this book more than five stars, then I would! This was romance, mystery, cultural lessons about Hawaii and family relationships all rolled into one very well-written and heart-tugging book. Kay Bratt obviously pours her heart and soul into her books for her readers and it is so appreciated by this reader! There are actually at least two storylines going on in this novel, the first about Quinn and her familial dilemma and the second one about Maggie and her stalker that she has escaped and is finally feeling a little bit of safety. There is also the minor story about David and Julianne, a story that just pulled at all of my heartstrings. My favorite character was Woodrow. Yes, Woodrow is a dog, but he is one smart and intuitive service animal who knows just what to do for Maggie and when. Of course, I also liked the hunky men in the story, including Liam and Joe. I especially enjoyed Joe’s humor and acceptance of life’s changes. Finally, I pick Juniper as my favorite human character because she is so laughably quirky and a really good friend for Maggie, not to mention surprisingly intelligent. Bratt has written a book that will long stay in my memory banks as a book to read when I need to be reminded what forgiveness and love look like. Fans of contemporary fiction, domestic drama and mystery will want to pick up this book and enjoy it.

Kay Bratt. No Place Too Far. Remember the name and title. Believe me, when you read the book it’s not a name or a title you will likely forget. No Place Too Far was a pleasant surprise. This was the first book I had read by Kay Bratt. It is actually part of a series but there are plenty of explanations throughout the book so you don’t feel too lost. This book focuses on Maggie and her son Charlie. Maggie has a stalker and she is trying to start over after he is imprisoned. But, of course, he doesn’t stay incarcerated. He is soon out and Maggie is back in the grips of terror. The other characters in the story have their own interesting storylines. I will definitely go back and read the books leading up to No Place Too Far. And I will definitely go back and read every Kay Bratt book I can find. From the first sentence to the last, the book is wonderful! The descriptions of beautiful Hawaii and the lifestyles of the people that live there are fascinating. Plus the addition of historical facts from the beautiful state are things that I never knew. No Place Too Far is a book that I could not put down. I stayed up late reading it and will actually have to give myself a couple of weeks before I can get a manicure because my fingernails are bitten down to the nub. I am giving No Place Too Far five stars only because I can’t give it anymore. I voluntarily received a copy of this book from netgalley.
No Place too Far is set in Maui, a place steeped in Hawaiian tradition and culture. Kay Brat’s second book in her By the Sea series, No Place too Far is the story of two strong women, lifelong friends, each in Maui for their own reason and each with their own story. I was happily surprised to find a continuation of Quinn’s story from True to Me. Maggie, along with her son Charlie, and her service dog Woodrow, move to Maui to be near Quinn. Maggie has hopes that this move, which takes her and Charlie far from the stalker who has had her living in fear, along with Quinn’s friendship, will help her start a new life. Kay Brat’s description of Maui and Hawaii were amazing, you could almost smell the flowers and hear the ocean. I fell in love with Maggie’s dog Woodrow, and could just see those big old eyes of his looking up at Maggie with adoration. Reading Quinn and Maggie’s story, I felt like I knew them, cried with them and laughed with them. I am definitely lining up for the third book in this series. I highly recommend “No Place too Far.”
No Place Too Far is actually the first of Kay Bratt’s books that I’ve read. Apparently the story starts with True to Me, so if you’re new to Ms. Bratt’s work, start with that one, but I was able to follow the story well enough without having read True to Me.
Quinn and Maggie are best friends. They’re both living on the Hawaiian island of Maui, where Quinn is starting her own business independent of her birth family, and Maggie is trying to build a life for herself and her son Charlie after a horrible experience with a stalker.
Maggie has just landed a job as a vet tech when weird things start happening. She learns that her stalker is no longer incarcerated, and he knows where she is. She will do whatever she must to protect Charlie and herself. She’s not running this time.
Part of the time, I really wanted to smack Maggie. She struggles with accepting help, even when she really should. She thinks she can do everything on her own, and she doesn’t want to drag her brothers or Quinn or anyone into the situation when her stalker reappears. Thankfully, her friends are persistent. From Juniper, her blue-haired, nose-ring-wearing new co-worker and friend, to Woodrow, the most awesome service dog ever, Maggie has support and help fighting this battle.
We also see Quinn dealing with a difficult situation. A sleazy reporter has revealed her true identity, and she thinks she’s going to have to leave to protect her family. Is there any other solution, or will she have to leave the life she’s been working to build?
This was a really enjoyable read. I had a hard time putting it down, and now I’ve got to go back and read True to Me. I think I’ll be adding Ms. Bratt to my “read everything she writes” list!

Another great story about strong women who end up being even stronger than they thought when faced with their struggles!
Love these characters and the location couldn’t be any better than paradise!
Looking forward to the next book in this series!
After I finished reading True to Me, I could not wait to get my hands on No Place too Far! And I will tell you that I was NOT disappointed! I read most of the book in one sitting, until my eyes burned, and then I finished it up the next night!! Although it was the second book in By the Sea Novel collection, it was written so differently than the first. It had me twisted in emotions on numerous occasions, some more uncomfortable than others, but I loved it. Kay has a way of making you really care about the characters and feel their emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series.
I loved going back to Hawaii in this second book of this series , she brings friendship , love and very real situations to the story , love the setting and history in this story . Thanks for such a great read, please keep it going
This is a wonderful page turner. The characters and scenery draw you in and the story keeps you there. I could not put it down.
Another amazing book by one of my favorite authors, Kay Bratt! This book had me staying up too late because I just couldn’t put it down! Kay’s storytelling throughout is so descriptive and the character development is superb. I really felt connected not only to the main characters, Quinn and Maggie, but to their stories and to Maui. This book, as well as the first book in the series, have me wanting to travel to Hawaii even more! I can’t wait for the third book in the series! Thank you to Kay Bratt and netgalley for an advanced copy of this book. This review is my own opinion and thoughts about the book.

My Recommendation
No Place Too Far is the second book of the By The Sea series by Kay Bratt. This is a must read for those who enjoyed the first book True To Me. This wonderful book gives beautiful descriptions Maui and the legends and traditions of the native people. You will fall in love with characters, their family dynamics, and many twists and turns of the story. You will not be disappointed in this book. Once you start you won’t be able to put it down.
Thank you to Kay Bratt and Netgalley for providing the advanced copy of this book
Stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this story of Quinn and Maggie and their new lives and loves in Hawaii. Now the hard part…waiting for part 3 of the series!
I loved this second book in the “By the Sea” series! I was happy to follow Maggie as she made a new life in Maui with her son and her best friend Quinn. Her stalker was out of the picture for awhile but things get edgy when her emails and bank account gets hacked. She finds some true friends, who add a lot of character to the story, when she excerpts a job at the local vet. Meanwhile, Quinn has gotten the inn up and running just as old worries from the past show up to destroy the happiness she has finally found with her family. This book comes out in early September and I want a paperback copy to keep! I will re-read it I know. I can’t wait for book three to come out!
