I am truly enjoying the Harry Hunter series! This one has lots of twists and turns and a couple of surprises that I did not see coming!
Hunter’s wife had been in a coma-then a vegetative state for a long while. Their daughter, a teen, was missing her Mom. She began to come out of it a little. Of course Hunter had begun to lose hope and realized that Jean-their next door neighbor was the one he really wanted to be with. Jean had been in live with Hunter since the day they met. Except she and Hunter’s wife were best friends! Jean, who happened to be a nurse help care for the wife and the entire family actually.
Hunter allows a medical procedure to be preformed on his wife–and it works. But she then tells him her secrets from before they met—-
Meanwhile Hunter is still doing his job as a Detective and gets involved with a really hot mess!!
I will not say another word–you have to read this one for yourself–you will not be disappointed!!
Willow Rose books are the best
I have been lovin’ the Harry Hunter character and I am happy to be back for another mystery. We start out with a bang…in church!
Harry Hunter has a full plate. His teenage daughter is a handful, his wife has miraculously awakened from a long term coma, and his love interest, his next door neighbor, Jean, is stepping aside to give Harry and his wife a chance to find the love they lost.
Camille, his wife, has a story to tell, but the question remains, will she recover enough to be able to tell it. AND will it make a difference to their lost relationship.
His dad is a rock, and his faith in God never wavers and helps him deal with his turbulent life. His religion is a part of his character and does not come across as any way preachy.
Human traffickers, corrupt cops, Harry has put himself and his family in the line of fire by vowing to take them all down.
Willow had me hemming and hawing at the head honcho. It’s impossible to tell who is good and who is bad, and I love that about her writing.
As the lines converge and the fireworks explode, we come to a riveting conclusion with danger, chases, and all out war raining down on Harry and his family.
While I was reading, No Other Way, I kept thinking of Serpico. Would Willow allow Harry to die? I love that she has me even considering it.
Willow includes snapshots of real life events and the depravity and despicability of humans is exposed for the world to see.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of No Other Way by Willow Rose.

“No Other Way” to look at it — Harry’s wife was shot by a hit man!
There’s lots of action going on in this book, a lot of crime for Harry to solve. But the biggest puzzle of all is who shot his wife in the head several years ago and left her in a coma … and will the hit man return now that she’s awake? It ‘s agonizing to wonder along with Harry what kind of secret life she’d led, what affect the truth will have on their daughter, and why he can’t forget the kiss he shared with his next-door-neighbor just before his wife woke up? After living Harry’s tough life through 3 books, I definitely wanted a happy ending, but there’s a heap of crime, suspense and danger before I could stop my fevered reading and read “the end.” I love this series; Harry is sensitive, troubled, lonely, and still tries to always do the right thing. Thank you, Willow Rose, for this great guy!
Wonderful characters. Interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. Simply a GREAT read!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
Enjoy her books!
Harry Hunter has had crosses to bear in his personal life while working as a detective for Miami PD. In book 3, No Other Way, the two become one life threatening cross to battle. This storyline is author, Willow Rose’s best; she weaves Camille, Harry’s wife and his coworkers together. Pages fly as a long kept secret sends Harry reeling and a job to do. A twist leads to a chase which leads to a heartbreaking and heart warming end. A most entertaining escape with Harry Hunter. Has my recommendation for a great goodread.
Harry is being pulled in many directions. His wife is making a remarkable recovery, thanks to a new treatment. His lovely, beloved daughter is healthy, and turning into a typical teenage girl. Unfortunately, his new case is making waves, but Harry is persistent, and he won’t give up. He is determined to find out why a teenage boy would pull out a handgun in church, and shoot his father.
Wow! I couldn’t put this book down! These are well written, and compelling characters in a fast paced, thrilling mystery with enough twists in the plot to keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat. I loved this book.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
The Harry Hunter series continues with another great thrilling story where he actually is a witness to a murder! Now he must find out the why. I thoroughly enjoy every book in this series due to the amazing storylines and the characters. Willow Rose is an accomplished storyteller. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Whew! This one kind of puts you through the ringer… in the end of the last one, Camille started improving. She improved through all of this one as well and was even able to tell Harry what had happened.
Harry and Josie were in church when a young man pulls a gun on his dad and threatens to kill him. Harry almost had the gun when an officer walks in and distracts everyone. He ended up shooting his father anyway. Now Harry puts himself on the case to prove that something forced the kid to do it. It brings up a cold case from 10 years ago and Harry is stumped. When the pieces start falling into place, it all starts to make sense. It’s also randomly connected to another case he is currently working and the outcome is a twist for sure.
I absolutely love Willows twisted tales! You can almost never figure out who the bad guy is until it’s right in your face.
Three women go to Key West for a little girl time and one goes missing and is found dead. The case goes cold. Detective Harry Hunter gets on the case after a boy has a gun in church and wants to kill his father. This is a page turning thriller in this series. Police corruption highlights this saga. This is another book that I could not put down and had to read in one sitting.
No Other Way in the Harry Hunter Mysteries is excellent! Harry and his daughter, Josie, are in church when a young man pulls a gun on his father and threatens to shoot him. Harry tries to talk the boy into giving him the gun, but he shoots him anyway. This brings up an old cold case and he starts putting the pieces together. This is a fast paced, action packed, intriguing story and I definitely recommend it.
Thoroughly enjoyed this novel, as I have many of Willow’s books. If you think things are too far fetched, think again. Willow always gives you explanations & references to read up on procedures or anything most of haven’t heard of in the back of the books. She always meticulously researches before she writes.
This is the 3rd book in this series and there are several references to things that happened in the previous books. Nevertheles, you can read this as a stand-alone story as the past events are adequately explained in the text.
When Harry Hunter attends church one Sunday with his father and daughter there are noisy people in front of him. A father and his son are having a loud discussion that explodes into violence when the kid pulls out a gun. Harry tries to talk the boy down and almost succeeds when an armed policeman breaks the spell. It ends in a tragedy with both father and son being shot albeit both survive. Josie asks her dad why the boy did it and he can’t but wonder as well what the father must have done for Nick to bring a gun to church and shoot his father. His boss tells him that the boy is the son of the State Attorney and will be tried as an adult. The kid refuses to talk to anyone, not even to his lawyer. Harry asks if he can have a go with the boy.
It doesn’t take long to discover that 10 years ago the boy’s mother (the State Attorney’s wife) was murdered in Florida under mysterious circumstances. The statements of the 2 friends travelling with her are eerily similar (almost word by word) but also absurdly contradictory on a few important elements. Did his dad kill his mother, despite having an alibi? The father brings some very incrementing evidence (which I thought to be false) about his son and claims that he’s a pathological liar and wants him locked up for life. Spoken of parental love!
At home, things don’t look too well. Josie is 14 and starts being rebellious at times. His wife’s recovering after a 2-year-long come but her condition doesn’t seem to improve and since he’s been told that she knew about the human trafficking ring that he recently closed down, he starts to resent her. She’s transferred to a facility offering experimental oxygen treatment and finally, there’s some progress. At the same time, he knows that his crush on neighbour and best friend Josie is mutual but can’t lead to anything other than heartache.
Because of the police-corruption that was exposed as a result of the previous case which leads to a lot of job-losses and demotions, Harry is stalked, threatened even shot at and generally despised by many of his colleagues. Even his home and family aren’t safe. It is clear that they only scratched the surface of this organisation and that much more is still hidden. Eventually, Camille comes clear how she was involved with the human traffickers. Harry is disgusted with her, what she’s done and her excuses for doing so. But it’s now clear that the violence against their family isn’t just to shut up Harry, but even more to silence Camille as she knows all the details, names and secrets of the gang leaders.
This is a fast-paced story, things happen one after the other, with some home-life scenes as very brief breathers. But even those serve a higher purpose as the pieces of the puzzle gather and form an unpleasant, ugly picture of greed, selfishness, abuse and corruption. Despite having guessed part of the story, the real and full picture was still a big surprise to me. It’s one of these cases when every time you think to know the truth, there’s a twist that changes things completely. The tension is kept nicely up throughout the whole of the book.
In this 3rd part, there’s more focus on the romantic elements and the main detective work is wrapped up earlier than usual. But there are of course the loose ends from the previous book that connects all the stories in this series.
I’m not certain if this is the end of the Harry Hunter series, but at the end of the book, the loose ends of the previous stories are all nicely wrapped up. It takes a few artistic surgeries to create a plausible HEA, but Harry, Josie, Jean and even Camille all deserve a new start in life and some direly needed rest as well. How exactly it all works out, you must find out yourself;
I received a free ARC from the author and this is my honest, unbiased review.
This is book number 3 in a series of books by Willow Rose. The series contains one extended story about Harry Hunter, his wife Camille, and his daughter Josie. Camille has been in a coma for years after a drug overdose. Harry knew she had a history with drugs before they met. She appears to be coming out of the coma and he does everything he can to help her.
He is working on two cases. One is an old case, that was never closed. He’s trying to solve the murder of a woman who went to Florida on a get-away with two friends. He figures out the puzzle and tries to bring it to closure and conviction.
There is also the case of attempted murder of a prominent man by his disturbed son.
At the same time, people seem to be trying to kill his family. This is a well written, action packed book that I really enjoyed. The story lines are based on real life occurrences, which make this story even more terrifying.
As I have with other books by this author, I highly recommend this book by Willow Rose.
Oh Willow what another great book. So many true to life events going on in this fantastic book and that’s what makes it the great book that it is. I can’t wait to read your next book Willow, I can’t put them down once I start them. Thank you for writing such a great book!
