A human princess. A dark-elf prince. A kiss of fire and powder. After a failed courtship in an ally kingdom, twenty-one-year-old Princess Alessandra returns home to a land torn apart by mutual hatred between the humans and the dark-elves. The “Beast Princess,” as Aless is known by courtiers, confidently sets her mind to ways of making peace, but her father has already decided for her: she is to … decided for her: she is to marry one of the mysterious and monstrous dark-elves to forge a treaty, and go on a Royal Progress across the kingdom to flaunt their harmonious union. While she intends to preserve the peace, the Beast Princess has plans of her own.
Prince Veron has been raised knowing his life is not his own, but to be bargained away by his mother, the queen of Nozva Rozkveta, to strengthen the dark-elf queendom. When his mother tells him he is to marry a self-absorbed, vile human, he is determined to do his duty regardless of his personal feelings. After arriving at the human capital, he finds the “Beast Princess” rebellious and untamed—and not to be trusted.
Aless and Veron face opposition at every turn, with humans and dark-elves alike opposing the union violently, as well as their own feelings of dissonance toward each other. Can two people from cultures that despise one another fall in love? Can a marriage between them bond two opposing worlds together, or will it tear them apart for good?

I loved this book. I’d say it’s a mixture between ‘The Taming of the Shrew” by Shakespeare and ‘Radiance’ by Grace Draven, both awesome beyond measure.
Princess Aless is a rebel that don’t’ want to be kept like a trophy by a husband but she must do what her position demands and marry an unknown dark elf. Prince Veron is a strong and extremely righteous dark elf that is willing to sacrifice everything for his queen and his people.
Aless and Veron are meant to understand each other and find out that beyond the physical differences there’s more than meets the eye in most of the people.
A wonderful fantasy book with a slow burn romance, fantastic creatures and great plot.
I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect out of No Man Can Tame when I started it. Aless and Veron are forced into a political marriage in order to unite the humans with the Dark Elves. Their union comes at a time when tensions are on the rise and attacks on Immortals by a group known as The Brotherhood – who would sooner see all the Immortals obliterated rather than make peace – have increased. There is much riding on their shoulders, and while neither one of them would have asked for the marriage they soon are able to look past the lies and misconceptions that have been floating around between the humans and immortals and begin to care about one another.
I really enjoyed the message that not all wars are fought, or won, with battles. Sometimes you can work out a situation with words and intellect. I loved seeing the two opposing sides of this with Veron a warrior and Aless, for lack of a better word, a scholar. When conflicts arise I love seeing Aless give her input and Veron actually listen and take into account her suggestions which always prove to be the right path to take. Aless proves that strength doesn’t necessarily always mean strength of body, but can just as often mean strength of mind.
In the end I really enjoyed No Man Can Tame. The narration was good although I found a couple of instances where discerning which character was speaking was difficult, but it was nothing that negatively impacted my listen.
Overall, I’m excited to see what happens next in the series. We’re left with quite the revelation, and I’m interested to see the impact it has on the story.
Wow I truly loved reading this story. Romance, war, action, just an overall good fantasy story and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
I absolutely loved this book, I can’t wait to read more of Miranda’s work. I highly recommend this book.
In the beginning, I really didn’t like Alessandra. I thought she was too willfull and selfish. She had a one track mind and would stop at nothing to fulfill her mom’s dream, even sacrifice the peace of her world. But as the book went on, Veron and Alessandra bonded and I couldn’t stop reading!!! There’s just enough angst to grip you and make you want to skip ahead. I love the world building, too. There are a lot of surprises from different characters and Aless and Veron really learn to see other people and to trust
I loved this tale of an arranged marriage between a dark elven prince, Veron, and his human bride, Aless. Their union is created to bridge the gap of animosity between humans and dark elves. I related to both Aless and Veron instantly as they were plunged into a situation neither wanted. Can they make the best of their marriage…or even survive it? I can’t wait to read book two and see that else these two get up to.
Aless is a human princess whose father disrespected and made an alliance to marry her off to the dark elf prince of Nozva Rozgveta, what humans referred to as Nightbloom. Wanting to give her beloved sister Bianca a chance to marry the man she loved, she accepted even though she was afraid of marrying a monster, one of the immortali. All Aless ever wanted was to follow in her mother’s footsteps, to re-build her library and educate all who wanted to learn. Little did she know that when she married Veron her life would change so drastically and not in the way she feared at all. Aless was intelligent, headstrong and loyal to a fault however upon marrying Veron her loyalties changed and rightfully so as she realised that the prejudices held by humans against the dark elves had no foundation to them at all. The couple embarked on their peace track, trying to gain support so that the war which had been long standing between the immortali and humans would come to an end however there were those who did not want to see this succeed. The beast princess would now do anything for her beloved and their people even when it meant risking her own life. I love this beautiful romantic fantasy tale and would dearly love to go on reading further into the love match of Aless and Veron, a human Princess and her dark-elf Prince.
This nook was excellent. It’s the first book I’ve read from this author and I will be reading more of her work in the future. The book was very well written and the characters and story were well developed. I loved the individual character personalities and seeing their relationship dynamics change and evolve through the book. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It had suspense, intrigue, emotion, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book and hope there are future books to come!!
This is a fantastical twist on a combination of The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet, mixed with Beauty and the Beast. There is an edge to our hero and heroine that is generally lacking in most romances I have read, which adds some realism to these people and their actions. These two are trying to face a difficult personal situation with caution and a willingness to cooperate, resulting in a surprisingly strong marriage bond. This novel is as good a read as Grace Draven’s “Radiance”, and both deserve to be appreciated by the fantasy or fairy tale connoisseur.
I read this in the anthology “Of Beasts and Beauties”, but would classify it more as a Thrushbeard retelling with a generous dose of Taming of the Shrew than a Beauty and the Beast retelling.
The female lead was young, strong willed, well meaning, and woefully ignorant of the realities of her world. The male lead was inherently powerful with strong constraints. This was primarily a romance focusing on their relationship and burgeoning understanding of both each other and the other’s culture, but there was also a growing awareness of the forces pressing on their own respective people.
Featuring intricate world building and a complex political system, this book was a little slow to start, but the author’s engaging writing style kept the story moving and it came together to a satisfying conclusion.
Book one in the Dark-Elves of Nightbloom series a well written story with a good storyline the story flowed smoothly across the pages. I want to read the next book in this series. Human Princess Alessandra and dark-elf Prince Veron’s story, an enemies to lovers story. I received an Arc of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I really enjoyed this book! It has princesses and dark elves, who could ask for more?? I loved the story line and the characters, and this wonderful world that this author came up with! I can’t wait to read more of this series!
Fantastic read! I love the dynamic of Aless and Veron’s relationship. While different, they find common ground and learn to love and trust one another. Truly a wonderful start to a new series!
Gorgeous story! And a drool-inspiring cover. 🙂
A marriage of convenience story with shades of beauty and the beast, this story hit me right in the feels. Fantastic world building with sympathetic characters and a smoking hot romance. I loved Prince Vernon–truly a swoon worthy hero–and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I had no idea this would be a crossover book from Miranda’s Rose and Blade series. For any of you who have read her books you will absolutely love this, and for those who haven’t it’s a great stand alone book. A striking raven hair princess with a mind of her own and an uncompromising hunk of a dark elf Prince are the main characters.
Princess Alessandra of Silen, from the Blade and Rose series, was a consideration for King John when the court demand that he marry and Prince Veron the dark elf is son to Mirza whom Olivia was caring for back at the palace in Emaurria. The book is an unusual twist on Beauty and the Beast as it was hard for me to tell who the beast was, both characters were a bit of a handful. If you like dark elves, nasty huntsmen and a bit of a romp you’ll love this book. I look forward to more of Aless’s and Veron’s story.
In this Beauty and the Beast retelling, we see our MC, Aless, a human princess, enter into an arranged marriage with an immortal creature, a dark elf prince, Veron. As they travel, they encounter danger and prejudice and learn about each other as they begin to fall in love. Having previously read Miranda Honfleur’s Blade and Rose series, I had a little more insight into the world building that this story is based on as well as characters that appeared in this book, so I would suggest doing the same, but it is not necessary. The book flows just fine without the previous knowledge but it does enhance it. If you like fantasy romance with action and a HEA, this is the series to pick up. I received an ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.
Absolutely love this book!
No Man Can Tame is a fantasy romance novel that takes readers into the depths of a unique world torn apart by hate, resentment, and misunderstandings. The author introduces readers to the two main characters – Princess Alessandra aka the Beast Princess and Prince Veron of the dark-elves. Princess Alessandra has her own agenda, and needless to say, marriage isn’t the top of that list. She’s a determined young woman who wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps, but her father has other plans for her and her sister.
This is a beautifully written story that kept me engaged all the way to the end. When Princess Alessandra was nicknamed the “Beast Princess” my curiosity was piqued. I was curious as to why but the author doesn’t leave me wondering for long. Princess Alessandra is bold, determined and tends to be one who speaks her mind. One can easily imagine how her father must have felt dealing with that when compared to her younger sister who was quiet, pious and well-behaved in comparison. For me, Alessandra starts off as a seemingly spoiled princess. She has an agenda and she believes that if she causes enough of a stir that she’ll be able to manipulate the situation to get to what she’s really after. I’m pleased when I see that there is more to her than meets the eye when a certain situation arises.
While I found myself on the fence when it came to Princess Alessandra in the beginning, I found myself liking Prince Veron from the beginning. He was the obedient son to his mother, and loyal to his people. Essentially he and Princess Alessandra are complete opposites on the surface. She has her own agenda and he is about his people and their survival. While these two characters are so different and come from different backgrounds it is lovely to watch them grow on each other and slowly become more. I appreciate that there isn’t that “instant love” that so many like to do. I also appreciate that there wasn’t “instant hate/revulsion” either.
The author throws a lot together in this story and it keeps me engaged from the beginning all the way to the end. The author builds the romance, danger, suspense, and so much more. There are moments where you want to smack some sense into the characters, and then there are moments of where you are on the edge of your seat with excitement or intrigue.
While this book is the first in Miranda Hornfleur’s Dark Elves of Nightbloom series it has a HEA and wraps up pretty nicely for these characters as the next book in the series will be shifting to others. I do hope that we will get more of their story as we get others though. For those who like clean romance novels…this book may not be a good fit for you. For those who like romance novels without all the graphic scenes…this book would be a good fit for you. We get the romance and some adult scenes, but the author doesn’t go into detail so I feel that you’ll be able to read this book and enjoy all that it has to offer.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. There is nothing that I don’t’ like about this book. It is well done and kept me captivated. I enjoy fantasy romance novels and this book gave me the right amount of romance, drama, surprises, and danger. If you love a good fantasy novel and like a good thrill that goes with it then this is a good book to pick up.
Loved the world building and romance in this one.
