A human princess. A dark-elf prince. A kiss of fire and powder. After a failed courtship in an ally kingdom, twenty-one-year-old Princess Alessandra returns home to a land torn apart by mutual hatred between the humans and the dark-elves. The “Beast Princess,” as Aless is known by courtiers, confidently sets her mind to ways of making peace, but her father has already decided for her: she is to … decided for her: she is to marry one of the mysterious and monstrous dark-elves to forge a treaty, and go on a Royal Progress across the kingdom to flaunt their harmonious union. While she intends to preserve the peace, the Beast Princess has plans of her own.
Prince Veron has been raised knowing his life is not his own, but to be bargained away by his mother, the queen of Nozva Rozkveta, to strengthen the dark-elf queendom. When his mother tells him he is to marry a self-absorbed, vile human, he is determined to do his duty regardless of his personal feelings. After arriving at the human capital, he finds the “Beast Princess” rebellious and untamed—and not to be trusted.
Aless and Veron face opposition at every turn, with humans and dark-elves alike opposing the union violently, as well as their own feelings of dissonance toward each other. Can two people from cultures that despise one another fall in love? Can a marriage between them bond two opposing worlds together, or will it tear them apart for good?

No Man Can Tame is Book 1 in The Dark-Elves Of Nightbloom series. Miranda Honfleur has an exceptional way with words to provide us with this fantastic world with exceptional characters. She drew me into this world and I was drawn to Aless (Alessandra) and Veron. It was such a nice journey following these two as they grew to respect, trust, and love each other as they progressed thru the trials and tribulations they encountered while trying to unite their two kingdoms in peace. This is a marvelous start to a new series and one I highly recommend. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Loved it! Very complicated world building, so it was a slow read for me, but totally worth it. 🙂
Great story that takes beauty and the beast as it’s inspiration and adds a special twist to make a unique story. It is well written and the characters are great.
This book gave me all the feels, and has landed on my list of favorites! It was incredible from the first page to the last. The descriptions were beautiful and expertly woven in a way that drew me further into the story without dragging on. It had a perfect blend of sweet and steamy romance, with a slow-burn you can’t wait to see come to fruition.
.
Based on the description, I was worried that it would be an enemy-to-lovers book, but it was more about learning to love someone despite the physical and cultural differences.
.
If you enjoy romantic epic fantasy, do yourself a favor and read this book!
**Heat Level Warning: This is not a clean read!**
Excellent read. Very much the feel of Fantasy Romance similar to Grace Draven. Thoroughly enjoyed two characters from completely different worlds learning to understand and love one another. I’m very sad to learn this is a standalone for these two MCs, but am hopeful to see them appear in other books as side characters.
The world descriptions were very good and the ideas were interesting, namely what could happen if suddenly immortal fae (good and bad) suddenly appeared in the world. The main characters were well-described, but something about them and the story line just doesn’t grab me and pull me in, I’m really not sure why. I literally skimmed through most of the last half of the book, not reading whole chapters. I just brushed through to read the ending. There is a lot of action and others may find this to be an interesting light read.
I don’t know how this got from slow burn to insta love in 2 seconds. WTF.
And I totally agree, this is the bad copy of Radiance (Wraith Kings Book 1) by Grace Draven.
A great fantasy romance to get lost in! I loved the quotes and examples of a healthy relationship built on trust, respect, and teamwork and found it added that extra element to their relationship and really spoke to me. While it took several chapters to really hook me, once the story picked up, I finished it in one night. A few things like the unpronounceable names (which I later just skipped over) and Aless’ intelligence but singular focus on library (over unrest and starvation and its role as grief coping strategy) hindered it a little but, I was still completely swept into the story and couldn’t put it down. I fell for the characters and their romance was enchanting. I also loved the way prejudices were explored and navigated throughout the story. If you are looking for a Beauty and the Beast-esque fantasy romance, give this a try!
Beauty and the Beast meets Kiss Me Kate? Hard to pin down this lovely adult fable which takes a very full day to read and examines prejudice, love, and obedience. I read an Advance Reader Copy and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
First and foremost: I absolutely adored this book. Hands down, it was phenomenal. It’s the first book I have read my Mrs. Honfleur, but I can assure that it will not be the last.
No Man Can Tame is a story about an arranged marriage, not just between different kingdoms, but different species, and the two unwilling participants. I’ve read (and I’m sure you have to) many books with an arranged marriage at the center of the tale, and I’m happy to say, this books makes it fresh. It takes cultural differences to a whole new extreme throwing a ground dwelling dark-elf and a human together. I think what made this so amazing was the fact that they were both in the same position. Not like a human prince and princess where the princess is just becoming property. Since Dark Elf society is matriarchal, the princes are the pawns. That means Veron and Aless, for all intents and purposes, are on equal footing. I really liked how that made things easier for them.
Without giving spoilers, I’ll just say that both characters are passionate about their peoples, stubborn to a fault, and also loving enough to beguile you immediately. There is a huge amount of struggle for the characters, not so much to find common ground and love, but to find the peace and acceptance that was the purpose of their marriage. There are harpies, Fae horse, unicorns, and Pixies too! If you love fantasy and good solid romance, this is a book you shouldn’t miss out on. I look forward to reading the next book and learning more about the brooding brother Dhuro.
I really liked this one. Lots of good world building; the leading lady has some nice development; nicely choreographed fight scenes!
I had a major book hangover after I read Radiance and Eidolon, to the point where I fell into a reading slump. However, I’m glad it didn’t last long. Miranda Honfleur’s”No Man Can Tame” was the cure I needed. It was exceptional! I felt like I was part of the story and I wanted to live in Nightbloom. The love story made me swoon and had me up until 1:00 AM. Now I’m sad, because I want to read book 2 but it has not been released yet.
Wow! What a story. I loved the connection between Aless and Veron. Opposites from different species who are bound by an arranged marriage. Aless stayed true to herself even while being manipulated by her father. The love Aless and Veron had for each other saved their people from a war. I enjoyed getting familiar with this new world and all of the characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I enjoyed this book very much! The storyline is fast-paced and unique, filled with twists and turns, danger and romance. The characters are well developed and endearing. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series brings!
I first read Miranda Honfleur’s No Man Can Tame (Dark-Elves of Nightbloom Book 1) when it was included in the boxed set Of Beasts and Beauties. It was so good that I was happy to re-read it when it came out as s single book (though admittedly I tend to re-read most books that I really enjoy). This version is slightly enhanced if anything but still the strong story of cultural clash, politics, antagonists to lovers and so much more that I do very much enjoyed the first time around. This is a talented author truly strutting her stuff and showing off just how to word-build a consistent and creative world populated by strongly crafted characters and then take all these ingredients and blend them into a well plotted, well written story. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
