Cade’s lived in Ridge Trail long enough to know trouble when he sees it, and the moment Sterling—Star—walks into his bar, he knows trouble’s come to call. Secrets run deep in the small town and Cade can tell Star’s got as many as he does, leaving him itching to uncover every last one. But finding common ground will mean trusting one another, further feeding an intense attraction that’s growing impossible to resist.

I could not put this book down. I seriously finished in in under two days. I adored Cade and Star. Reyes, Madison, Bernard and Parrish were all so amazingly well written characters also. The relationship between Cade and Star was a real page turner. Their personalities totally fit together perfectly. Add in Reyes for some comic relief and you have quite the story. The sibling relationship between Cade, Reyes and Madison was well done in my opinion. Lori Foster absolutely outdid herself with this story. It was so well done. I am dying to see what happens next in this series.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the setting and the characters. I always get attached to Lori’s characters, and I can’t wait to see where they all go from here! I am also greatly anticipating the next book, as I was smitten with Reyes! I enjoyed the grittiness of the book, but appreciated that is wasn’t too much as to overpower the love connection and overall arc of the book. I am on Lori’s street team and thoroughly enjoyed my ARC via NetGalley!!
What a great book even if it has to do with Human trafficking, a one woman rescuer, and a vigilante family…
Sterling (Star) Parson She was a but strong and was also a protector with a battered heart.
Cade McKenzie… his protective
Cade and Sterling I loved their battle of wills. The McKenzies, Dad was like a military general and sister-Madison-the tech person His brother, Reyes… with a heart of gold.
Did not want to put this one down.
This book reeled me in from the start and kept my attention. Sterling (Star) regularly visits Cade’s bar but has a “keep away” attitude. Cade, suspecting past trauma, approaches cautiously and befriends her. They discover that they both have the same goal of eliminating human traffickers and helping those enslaved by it. Sterling and Cade have great chemistry and their romance blossoms as the story unfolds. Cade’s family provides humor and snarkiness to brighten the story. This was an easy and enjoyable read.
