Gray is a magnet for all the ladies in the town. He is handsome and brooding. He is struggling with his past in order to fix his present and future. Ember, whom he dubs “Firefly”, is young, inexperienced and nervous around him. The author builds up the tension in the story as Gray tries to stave off the danger coming to town. As the danger gets closer he needs to protect Ember. There is a heat between them that eventually explodes. There ensues some hot and steamy scenes between the two. You will enjoy the story as they tangle with the villains and fall deeper in love with each other.
No Good Doctor is a mind-numbing masterpiece of boundless hope and undeniably love. This book will unsettle your step as you walk the path of a man who is as unknown as the origin of his town’s greatest hope for lovers. Your heart will be flayed open as you learn everything you never knew about the darkness of the human race as it is tempered by the bright light of hope and love created by that same human race. We are each a conundrum wrapped in contradiction all while tied with sparks of light that glow brightly day or night. As life slowly shapes each of us, I hope that you chose to never let the bright light within your heart become shadowed and blocked by ambition or hate or greed. Always be willing to reach out to friend and strangers alike encouraging them that goodness can indeed survive and grow in our world.
I was left utterly in love and speechless as I walked back onto the streets of Heart’s Edge where I left dear friends behind. This journey gave me the immense pleasure of getting to know Doc. He is the town’s mysterious bachelor who surrounds himself in a cold shroud. No one knows his story, and yet they accept him like another neighbor. He is the rough yet tender man who cares more for animals then people and fights for their life like a man possessed. When a stranger nearly implodes his world with her brilliant glow, Doc is left questioning everything he believes and knows for fact. Can his life be different? Does he dare want the same things he longed for before his world
imploded in flames? How can he deserve any of the light, sweet, good things he is now craving?
I will always be a fan of the beauty and the beast fairy tale, but my love for it goes beyond the simple story. What draws me to it like a moth to the flame is the fact that everyone is worthy of love. No matter what your past is filled with, you deserve love. Everyone has the other half of their soul walking around this world, and we just need to the courage to recognize and pull them into our world. The heart knows what it wants, and it will always want it other half. Love will never burn or scar you. It will only uplift and brighten your world. It will enlarge it and fill it with every wonderful thing in life and then make them permanent. Open your arms and allow it to absorb into every pore and then breathe it in. Once it has staked its claim you will never recognize yourself again.
There is nothing better than a Nicole Snow book that you fall right into with your entire heart and never have to fear of it being brutalized or scarred beyond recognition. Her words allow you to free-fall without fear, or fly without wings, or even to step beyond your boundaries and follow your heart with consequences. Her books offer us fantastic adventures that feed the quiet and hidden yearnings of our heart and soul. We can be ourself and breathe free and deep as we explore our most cherished dreams. We can live within the infinite size of our imagination and hope where there are no sharp edges to become snagged on.
A small town that holds many secrets. A sexy, broody but good hearted Doc. A sassy, curious and very clumsy Vet tech. They come together in a slow burning and very hot attraction that will lead to a beautiful HEA.
Once again Ms Snow takes us to the small town of Hearts Edge, on a journey that will include mystery, suspense and even some humor, as only she can write.
Grey is ex military, and now owns his own veterinarian practice, and he employs Ember as his assistant vet tech. These two are total opposites, and when dark secrets are exposed, he will do whatever he can to protect the town. This is a well written story, which had drama, secrets, suspense, mystery, twists, and love. I recommend for all younger woman / older men scenarios. In my opinion, this is the best work to date from this gifted author.
Teasing tension, drama and danger, hope and healing
No Good Doctor (Heroes of Hearts Edge Book 2) by Nicole Snow is a wonderfully well written romance with suspense, characters with tension ready to combust spontaneously and most captivating of all, the wounded hero that’s a little bit bad and a whole lot good.
While I haven’t read a book by this author I didn’t like, I loved this one so much. I probably say that about every book of hers that I review, but I really do!! Ember is aptly named and I absolutely adore Gray’s endearment for her. Firefly is so sweet and unique. These two, as well as all the other characters in this book/series are truly wonderful and I so appreciate the epilogue, giving us a glimpse of what is to come for Ember and Gray as well as future wounded heroes.
The plot of No Good Doctor is very intriguing and I found myself completely enthralled with the drama, suspense, history/backstory and danger. In addition to writing with spectacular detail, descriptions of all kinds, the urgency of the plot kept my turning the pages and loathing to put it down. It was bittersweet to reach the end! I could hardly wait for all to be resolved and realize the HEA only to sadly come to the end. Knowing there will be another Hero of Hearts Edge in our hands eventually makes it all a bit better.
Overall, another exceptionally well written book by this author I adore reading every time!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
4.5 Fiery Stars!
Gray and Ember’s story heated up the pages while it gave us a glimpse into the mystery of “Nine” (I want more of Nine now ~hint, hint ). The story was compelling, it drew me in and wouldn’t let me put it down; it was the perfect blend of sexy & suspenseful. I loved Ember’s character; unsure, yet when her work come into plan she is spot on, clumsy yet graceful, eager and willing. Doc was elusive, but you could see how much he cared for the town, the people and their animals. This is a quaint little town that has a lot of interesting residents, I’m looking forward to meeting more of them.
This was Nicole snow best work yet. I loved every minute of it.
September or ember is what she wants to called. She moved to heart bridge to start a new job as a assistant vet tech.
She also wanted to a fresh start.
Doc but his name is gray is a retired solider. He owns a vet and ember is his assistant. He’s cold and recluse to everyone but never to ember.
Some bad stuff happened a few years back that he feels the need to protect the town and the people in it.
When a unwanted guest turns up
Gray knows it cant be good and that trouble is coming. He’s willing to do anything to help protect the people he cares about.
Loved this book. I highly recommend this book you wont be disappointed.
In all fairness I have to admit that I am completely and utterly biased when it comes to Nicole Snow’s books. I absolutely love them. There is something so good about her storylines. You know there will be a strong and tortured Alpha male who will have you swooning from the beginning and the heroine is guaranteed to be sassy, smart and a little bit particular. Combine that with a little bit of a mystery and an intriguing back story. Making all of this, the winning combination that is a Nicole Snow book. No Good Doctor is no exception. I love Gray and his complicated soul and adore (Sept)Ember and her adorable personality. A page turner of a book guaranteed to give you a Nicole Snow Happily Ever After ending.

More Than Just A Steamy Romance – Brace For A Complex Story With Compelling Characters
This book can be read perfectly as a stand alone; however, it is related to and ideally read right after No Perfect Hero, which is Warren’s story.
At twenty-five, September Delwen is looking for a fresh start away from the Seattle area and the sad memories of her beloved late father. She applies for a job as Vet Tech in her cousin Felicity’s sleepy town of Heart’s Edge, Montana at the community’s only veterinary clinic.
Dr. Gray Caldwell, affectionately called “Doc” by his adoring customers, is a tall, devastatingly handsome veterinarian. A bachelor at thirty-seven – one of only two above college age in town – he is chased relentlessly by every single woman in the area. He wears a mask, carefully participating in society without engaging in more than the bare minimum, although his magnetism compensates for his cold and restrained demeanor since most never realize his responses are not genuine.
Doc hires Ember to be his much-needed new Vet Tech at The Menagerie over the phone, and never anticipates the petite willowy blonde who shows up that first day, unbelievably shy and tripping over herself. But her natural connection with animals doesn’t escape his attention. His well-honed self-control keeps him in check when he even contemplates considering Ember as something more than an emoloyee. She is much too young for him, of course. And too innocent.
Dr. Caldwell has a secret past that has kept him tied to Heart’s Edge. He had been recruited by Galentron a decade prior for a highly classified position in the defense medical research industry, testing cures for military clients.
He now knows their motives are not altruistic, though. He believes they want a weapon without a cure. He holds himself responsible for the aftermath of a tragedy that had unfolded eight years earlier, and he remains behind to keep the town safe.
When Ember gets a little too nosy about the mysterious doctor’s past, she stumbles upon danger, but Doc comes to her rescue. He then realizes he can no longer keep his past a secret. As Gray and Ember finally take a step forward, Gray realizes that he can relax with her at his side and shed his false front.
This story is well-written and tightly put together with a complex storyline, mystery, and complex characters. It is a very slow burn, allowing for the development of the unfolding plot and the build up of a mature relationship to complement the strong chemistry between Gray and Ember. First 60% builds the tension as Doc and Miss Delwen learn to work with one another. During a crisis they work seamlessly side by side, and her clumsiness and insecurity vanish when she works with animals. Doc has a number of flashbacks as people from his past reappear, causing him renewed concern for the safety of the people of Heart’s Edge.
Gray and Ember are a great couple. It is easy to fall in love with them. Gray is swoony and sympathetic. His flashbacks teach so much about why he is cold, and it becomes apparent why he might really need someone like Ember in his life. Seeing him happy is very rewarding! The couple earns a well-deserved and very satisfying HEA.
Beyond the couple, the relationship between Gray and his friends – Warren, Blake, and Leo (Nine) – is a different kind of love story – that of brothers in war, or of true friendship. To have friends that are willing to risk everything for you is priceless. The author pulls it all together in an emotional ending. I would rate this 4.5 stars if possible.

” He becomes this big protective tree of a man inviting living creatures to shelter in his shade. And today, that creature is me.” -Ember
What happens when dark and light? You get Dr. Grey Caldwell the stone-cold veterinarian of Hearts Edge.
Ogled over by most of then women in the tiny town, newly hired Vet tech Ember is not immune to his stature.
His gruff demeanor and shady, dangerous ire send up red flags with her, especially when she gets small hints of a softer side.
Accident-prone and to curious for her own good she stumbles upon a shocking, dangerous zone that only the grumbly Doc will be able to explain!
Yes please~ can I have some more? Oooh! Grey and the not so innocent Ember are the perfect duo for this intricate suspense building; heat fueled race towards justice, redemption, lust, love, and one helluva HEA!
Talk about a book I could not put down!
So much goes on, once I dropped down the rabbit hole, there was no coming out until I finished!
Fantastic suspense riddled military romance that deserves more than 5 stars!
I really enjoyed this second book in the Hearts Edge series by Nicole Snow. This book revolves around Doc the local vet of Hearts Edge and Ember, his new vet tech and the secrets Doc is trying to hide. The attraction between them is strong but it is played out in a slow burn over time. Ember is trying to find out what Gray, “Doc” is hiding and He is trying to keep her safe. There is a lot of mystery about what has been going on in this quaint small town. When the past comes looking for Gray can he keep Ember and the others safe? This is a very well written book. Once the two give into their feeling for one another the chemistry is so hot and steamy. I absolutely loved this book!
I loved this book from Nicole Snow! A vet clinic, I am already hooked since I’m an animal lover, a hot grumpy doctor with secrets, who doesn’t like that, and a new vet tech who is clumsy yet adorable, quiet and yet fierce when she needs to be. All those together make for an entertaining read. When Ember shows up for her first day working with Doctor Caldwell the last thing she thinks is that it will change everything. Grey Caldwell, the doc, has secrets in spades and yet the new tech has his life changing just by being who she is, who he calls Firefly. The story for these two was so easy to get hooked in to and I loved every page.
This was definitely an edge of your seat kinda thriller. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen I was shocked again. Score another WINNER for Nicole Snow!!
Ember has just accepted a job in Heart’s Edge as a vet tech thanks to her cousin. What she wasn’t expecting was the mystery her new boss was hiding, not only from her but everyone. Once she finally hears his secret she vows to help him in anyway possible even if it means putting her heart on the line.
We finally find out what Doc is all about and what a story as we finally know what all his secrets are, and it’s not pretty. The one to finally have him open up is his new Vet tech, Ember, who has just started her new job with Doc and realizes he’s a mystery, a mystery she wants to unravel. Doc has all the women in town vying for his attention, but it’s sweet Ember who he wants to get to know and spill his secrets to…but can she handle it.
Another great book by this author that has steam steam steam, suspense, mystery and some action that kept me flipping the pages. I LOVED these two, the slow burn, unraveling secrets, letting down their guards and opening up. I LOVED how there were no other women, Doc wasn’t a man wh***, they didn’t hide or run from their feelings and they stuck by each other no matter what. There were twists and turns and mysteries solved and the secrets of the small town revealed with an amazing epilogue that had my eyes misty and smiling from ear to ear.

Nicole Snow has written another great book. The romance was a slow burn, which I loved. The suspense kept me wrapped up where I couldn’t put the book down. It’s easy to love the characters of the town, Heart’s Edge. Dr Gray and Ember were perfect. I really hope Nine gets a romance!!

Title: No Good Doctor
Author: Nicole Snow
Genre: Contemporary Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I have been waiting for this book. I fell in love with Hearts Edge in the first book when reading Warren’s story. I mean hot ex-military guys and a town with secrets galore.
So now the hot veterinarian, Gray Caldwell. I love Gray. He is damaged. So much trauma. So much guilt. He blames himself for so much and refuses to allow himself to live. His live interest, September is a different story.
She is his new Vet Tech and is technically a klutz. Shy and still grieving the loss of her father. But as a vet tech she is a whizz and just awesome. He sees her as innocent and a light in his darkness. I wouldn’t have a problem with this but truly I felt her character was written too childlike. Too immature. She really doesn’t seemed as fleshed out as she should be. Not until the Epilogue. She is still his light but her character is more.
Looking forward to Nine’s book. I hope his old love is gone she doesn’t deserve him. He needs someone new. And…I LOVE GRAY BECAUSE OF HIS ANIMAL….YUMMY.
