Can this skeptical player let down his guard long enough to let love into his life, or is this forbidden romance a train wreck in the making? Ryan James doesn’t believe in love. It’s a truth he learned early in life. A truth he carried with him into adulthood. He broke his golden rule one time, but Myndi trampled all over his heart, cementing his belief that love is a lie and not worth the … love is a lie and not worth the effort.
Now he’s returned to his cynical views and promiscuous lifestyle, racking up more notches on his bedpost than he can count.
Until Summer Petersen comes crashing into his world, threatening to knock down his walls with her tempting body and sunny, sweet personality.
Summer is determined to lose her V-card before she starts freshman year of college, and the hot, older guy with the cute dimples, dazzling smile, and rippling biceps is just the man for the job. Ryan doesn’t take much persuading, and he rocks her world, giving her a night to remember.
When they walk away, there’s an unspoken agreement it was a one-time thing. Ryan doesn’t do feelings, and Summer doesn’t want to be tied down at eighteen.
But when she moves into her brother Austin’s apartment, she’s shocked to discover her new roomie is the guy who recently popped her cherry.
Ryan can’t believe he slept with Austin’s baby sister, and if he finds out, he’ll literally kill him. Keeping their hook up a secret is nonnegotiable. Keeping his thoughts, and his hands, off Summer, less so. Because the longer he’s around her, the more he finds himself catching feelings for the gorgeous brunette.
Summer doesn’t want to care for her older brother’s best friend, but Ryan makes her feel things she’s never felt before, and she’s slowly falling under his spell.
Embarking on an illicit affair behind Austin’s back has train wreck written all over it, but provided they keep their feelings in check, they can end this before he ever finds out.
It’s not like either of them is in love.
Right?
This is a full length 80,000 word STANDALONE new adult romance. Not recommended for readers under the age of eighteen due to mature content. This is the second book in a duet, although both books can be read as standalone romances as they focus on different couples.

Summer Peterson has decided to just go for it since she feels she’s running out of time. She has two friends; one gives her support and the other seems a little over protective. Ryan James is a man with a conscience but who may or may not win at this game of wills.
I found that Summer has an innocence about her but in other ways she’s wise beyond her years. Ryan is the opposite – at times he seems jaded. Their story is older man and younger woman. But older doesn’t mean old. Older means more life experience. He’s not all about having a good time but has a work ethic. Summer is just starting to learn what it is to be an adult and she wants to test her wings.
Because she’s spreading her wings, she’s testing her limits. That includes her feelings and her college experience. You can feel Ryan’s frustration because he wants to honor that invisible code that men seem to have but it’s hard not to follow what his head is telling him. This story seems so believable and it’s possible that there are couples out there going through the same thoughts and feelings. But no relationship is smooth sailing. There will be plenty of ups and downs. I liked that the secondary characters helped to move the story along instead of letting Summer and Ryan carry the whole thing. One of those characters is Ryan’s sister Gabby and if you want to know more about her check out When Forever Changes.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Absolutely loved Summer and Ryan! Their romance is so much fun to watch happen. Their no strings attached romance has been turned on it head, and I love it! Another amazing book from Siohban!!
this book was a great read and really hit me in the feels, it flowed nicely and was well written. this story is a credit to the author, she has done amazing work.
Siobhan has done it again! Once you start reading one of her books there is no putting it down. You will read them in one sitting. And this book is no different. I read it all in one sitting. There is angst, sadness, laughter and so much more in this book. It’s a great book with a great ending!
I was excited to start No Feelings Involved, knowing Siobhan’s books will never disappoint. We were introduced to Summer who’s just turned 18 and wanted to lose her v-card before starting College. She’s determined to find an older experienced guy who can give her a night to remember. Lucky for her she met Ryan, who’s the most gorgeous guy she’s ever laid her eyes on. It seems he’s really sweet, sexy, and considerate too. They hit it off straight away. At this point, I was wondering where or how they will cross paths again in the future and we didn’t have to wait too long to find out.
Fast forward a couple of months and it turned out Ryan is Summer’s brother’s friend and also roomie! They had to keep their past a secret, and also needed to resist feeling anything for each other. It’s proven really difficult when they gave in to their cravings and desires soon after.
This was such a sexy read, everytime Summer and Ryan got together; there are also lots of angsty moments. Things went wrong, people fell out, and people moved on. Eventually finding their way back to one another again, and we get a HEA. I have to say I haven’t read When Forever Changes, so it’s refreshing to know all this characters from scratch.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
Siobhan Davis has done it again: No Feelings Involved is another wonderful read I devoured in a single sitting.
By this point, it should be no surprise to hear I’ve devoured the latest Siobhan Davis release, considering how I do so with each new release. In fact, the only Siobhan Davis release I have yet to devour is The Warrior Princess, something I plan to amend despite my mixed feelings toward the Alinthia series. Each time there is news of a new Siobhan Davis release, the book goes on my to-read list quicker than you can find out the title of the book. With No Feelings Involved, we had my usual reaction to a Siobhan Davis book.
We had my excitement, we had my need to read, we had my devouring of the book, and now we have my impatience as I await the next Siobhan Davis release.
I’m going to be completely honest, however, and say I was a wee bit worried before going into this one. No Feelings Involved tells the story of a character we were introduced to in When Forever Changes, and a part of me was a bit annoyed with the way we were given details but no answers in When Forever Changes. It felt like a bit of a cheat, a way to ensure we’d pick up No Feelings Involved, and it took a little bit away from the emotion of When Forever Changes. I’m in the minority with this, but it bugged me. Nevertheless, I was intrigued by No Feelings Involved.
As a quick aside, I would like to point out you do not need to have read When Forever Changes to understand and enjoy No Feelings Involved. Although we see the characters across both books, they’re complete standalone stories. Either way you approach the books, you’ll be left with intrigue about the other. As I read When Forever Changes first, I had the intrigue of what would play out in No Feelings Involved. If you read No Feelings Involved first you’ll have a few spoilers for When Forever Changes, but you’ll still be intrigued to find out more.
Despite being intrigued about No Feelings Involved, my worry was twofold. In addition to it feeling like a bit of a copout, a way to ensure there would be readers of No Feelings Involved, I was a bit worried about the storyline. I’m over the whole virginity loss storyline, it no longer interests me. It’s giving me crazy expectations for the future, and I know they’re as false as false can be. I can deal with characters being virgins, but when the loss of a person’s virginity is made to be such a big deal I find myself rolling my eyes. They rolled a bit harder with this one when I found out our female lead wanted to lose it before she went to college. My mind was doing the sarcastic ‘love, I finished my undergraduate degree, my masters, and now am doing my PhD with it still intact – don’t worry, you can still have the college experience without needing to ride a guy’. In other words, my jaded view of the way society views sex and the loss of virginity had me a bit unsure of this one.
I know Siobhan Davis has a way of winning me over, however, and I was ready for such to be the case with this one. With the first chapter I was unsure – if Ryan had come up to me with those lines, I would have laughed in his face and said no (even if I was as determined as Summer to lose it) – but once the story got going I was sucked right in. It became the usual Siobhan Davis experience, by which I mean I was addicted.
I fell in love with both our characters and had so much fun with their story. Despite working things out in advance, although I was not shocked by the details that came forward and some of the events that played out, I was hooked. No Feelings Involved did not have the heavy emotional impact or overwhelming angst of other Siobhan Davis reads, but it had all the addiction I expect from the author. I powered through the story, completing it quicker than my usual Siobhan Davis reading speed, and was more than content with the story.
The only thing I wanted more of was the humour people left me believing I would receive. I did smile at some of the comments Billy made, but I did not find this to be the rom-com a few other people seemed to thing it was. I could have just misunderstood what people were on about, but this wasn’t a book filled with humour in the way a part of me had anticipated. I just wanted to point that out, in case anyone else reads comments about this one that creates the notion this is a rom-com kind of read. There are plenty of emotions, plenty of positive emotions, but not belly-laughs.
I confess, No Feelings Involved is not my favourite Siobhan Davis read, but it was more than worth reading. It hooks you throughout, you’re sucked into the pages, and you’ll gladly consume the book in no time at all.
All in all, Siobhan Davis did her usual thing and hooked me.

I have read this author’s books before and I have always enjoyed her work. This age-gap/best friend’s little sister romance is a sweet and swoony love story.
Summer Petersen is the youngest child with three over-protective brothers. She is a mature eighteen-year-old woman, a product of a family that holds no punches and where honesty and loyalty is part of their DNA. She knows what she wants, is brutally honest and dying to get rid of her V-card before she goes to college.
Ryan James is the best friend and business partner of Summer’s oldest brother, Austin. If you have read When Forever Changes, Ryan is Gabby’s brother who is now married to Slater (also a friend of Ryan’s). Ryan’s life becomes complicated when his one night stand with a girl he met in the club pops up back in the flat that he shares with Austin. Once bitten twice shy, he vowed to never be involved with another woman again until he met Summer that is!
This standalone contemporary romance is told in dual points of view. It starts as a light-hearted and casual hook-up where both parties were meant to forget to each other after that night. Summer is a delightful character bubbly and fun, a typical teenager but also mature in her outlook on life. I love her family dynamics, her camaraderie with her brothers although frustrating at times, it’s what makes her a tough young woman. Ryan, on the other hand, is more closed-in and no longer believes in love. Although there is an eight-year gap between the two main characters, Summer’s free-spirit counteracts Ryan’s closed personality.
The forbidden moments stolen by this pair adds to the thrill of their romance but when reality bites them in the arse this couple has to fess up. Their friends and family that appeared in the other book are still very much involved in their story and it is lovely to see how supportive Summer’s family is, well except maybe for some of her brothers. Summer and Ryan’s epic romance will surely make you fall in love again and might even make you cry. These two are just perfect for each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
One night of passion can turn into something you never expected
No Feelings Involved is about a girl wanting to lose and gain something before she heads off to college. It’s also about a man who is jaded about life and wanting to live life the way he sees fit with no feelings involved. When Summer and Ryan meet, they have this instant attraction and then they have one night of passion. What happens when their one-night ends and they go their separate ways? When Summer goes to live with her brother she comes face to face with Ryan and those two don’t know what to do when they have to live in the same place. Their attraction is intense but they both fight so hard to stay away from one another. Until one night they can’t handle it anymore and take their relationship to another level. They start with a deal to keep everything friendly with no feelings. We all know how sometimes those kind of relationships can sneak up on us and the rules start changing. Ryan and Summer both fall hard for one another and then life happened. They experienced a tragedy that should have brought them together but instead it tore them apart. Their story is one filled with love and grief that will have you laughing and crying with them. You will be rooting for them throughout the whole story hoping they can get it together.
I like the story and I like the fact that we get to see some characters from When Forever Changes. If you read that story then you know who Ryan is and why he is the way he is. Ryan got his heartbroken and doesn’t want it to happen again. When Summer enters the picture things start changing for him and he doesn’t handle it well. Summer is all about having the college experience which is no relationships and having fun. Those two together though are on a nuclear level that some people wish for. I didn’t like the supporting characters so much they just seem a little over the top for me. The main characters are well written and they make the story so much sweeter. It definitely makes me want to read some of the other characters stories just from they are portrayed in the story here. This a great read about friendship, love, laughter, and to find your way through the grief with those who care about you the most
I’ve read a lot of books written by Siobhan Davis; she has written another excellent book. She is one of my favorite authors.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

If you love a brother’s best friend romance, look no further than No Feelings Involved. Whilst this title is heartfelt and emotional, with some angst, it’s not as angst ridden as some of Siobhan’s other works and it’s the sort of book that leaves you with a smile upon your face.
Summer and Ryan are complex and endearing characters. She’s quite independant, and mature for her age, with a tendency to be sassy, honest and quite blunt, but not rude.
Despite his outward confident and charismatic personality Ryan has demons from his past that haunt him. Regardless of his fears he’s quite loving, and thoughtful when it comes to those he loves most.
The sexual tension between this pair is palpable. There is an air of the forbidden to the relationship as she is several years his junior and he’s her brother’s best friend. I loved the connection and chemistry they share.
I thoroughly enjoyed No Feelings Involved and highly recommend this title if you enjoy a contemporary romance.
Summer Petersen has several over protective brothers who keep the boys away from her, so she’s determined to find a hook up to get rid of her V-card before she gets to college, and she finds a hot older guy to do that with. She doesn’t want anything more than a hot memory, and he’s perfect for it. Ryan James doesn’t believe in love, but went against what he believed in with a girl, and got burned badly, so he’s back to just hook ups again without his heart getting trampled, so what the hot girl proposed was perfect. Unfortunately for them, fate has other things in store for them, because when Summer has to move in with her brother Austin, guess who is roommate/business partner/best friend is?! Yep, Summer’s hot hook up, so now they’re screwed, as the sparks are flying everywhere, and Ryan broke the bro code. Not to mention, how the hell is he going to survive the girl that he couldn’t get out of his head always being close in his space? Man, Siobhan Davis is an evil genius at the push & pull that drag the extreme emotions out of me for real. First of all, they did the dance around each other, and we all know that all that chemistry isn’t going to be denied for long, and it wasn’t, so they lit the sheets on fire again. Then, the sneaking around her brother, yeah, secrets don’t make friends, so here comes the edge of my seat waiting for that other shoe to drop, but there were other big, f-bomb worthy twists as well. Finally, you think things are on the right track, and BAM! The mother of all twists come with a snowball effect, and now I’m calling one of my favorite authors so many colorful metaphors it’s not even funny. So how does it all end?! Well, not going to tell you because frankly, everyone should go through the emotional upheaval I did, as it’s the gift that keeps on giving! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
On the journey from a one night stand to a forever love, there is passion, heartbreak, discovery and great joy. Summer is an 18-year old college freshman who is excited not just to start school, but to lose her virginity before it begins. She and her best friend, Hannah, decide to go clubbing to find an “appropriate hottie” and it doesn’t take long before she finds the perfect man to do the job. Ryan is her brother, Austin’s, friend, roommate and co-owner of their gym. He’s had his eye on her all night and sees that she has the same thing in mind that he does. She only wants one hot, illicit night with a stranger and he gives her a night to remember. Summer is staying with her brother until she can find an apartment that works for her and her friends, so imagine her surprise when she discovers that the hot guy who rocked her world is her new roommate! Desire reignites but they both have to fight it. Besides, Summer is hands-off since Ryan would kill Austin if he found out. Their denial can last only so long and, in no time, they’re wrapped in each others’ arms. Their love continues to blossom and Ryan is finally able to open his heart again after it was ripped out by his ex, Mindy. It’s obvious that they are both falling, but they have to face some major obstacles in their way. Insecurities, jealousy and inner conflict keep popping up tying to pull them apart. Summer knows that her family will be devastated when they find out she went behind their backs to date Ryan, but she’s too in love with him to care. It takes a tragedy for the truth to come out and the shock and trauma of it pull Sienna and Ryan apart. Only strength and determination can help them to rediscover their love. Their HEA is a moving experience with so much joy!
I just love everything Siobhan writes and this is no exception. It’s such a sweet love story. It’s not all roses and sunshine though. There is a bit of heartbreak but so much love. I absolutely love Summer. Her character is so sweet and carefree. She wants to live her life for her self after being smothered by older brothers. She doesn’t care about what other people think about her. She just wants to live a full life. Ryan has been a player after having had his heartbroken. He has lots of healing to do and Summer is just the person to help him. He doesn’t realize after a one night stand how quickly his life will change. There’s also some girl drama with Summer’s best friend. A little bit of everything and an amazing read!
Just finished reading. Couldn’t put it down. You will be blown away by Ryan and Summer’s story! We first met Ryan in his sister’s companion book When Forever Changes. This is a standalone and though it’s advisable to have read WFC as you’re missing out on one emotional ride, you can enjoy this novel just the same.
To sum up briefly, Ryan and Summer have a one night stand and that should be the end of it. Fate, however, throws them together. Life is complicated , feelings are also complicated, not to mention family and friends. This makes for a really good romantic story that will bring you both some lighter moments and a few emotional ones.
Ideal for those who enjoy a good love story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
With three brothers Summer hasn’t been able to get intimate with any of the boys she has dated, not that she was really tempted by any of them. Her best friend, as well as her friend’s boyfriend, and Summer are in the city to go to a club. Summer has an agenda, she is going to find a good looking, mature guy, hopefully with a lot of experience, to rid her of her virginity. Ryan sees the attractive young woman dancing, and when she sees him, she signals him to approach her on the dance floor. Ryan leaves the club with Summer, and after some questions, just as he suspected, she is young, just eighteen. Ryan hesitates but Summer convinces him that he is the one she wants to punch her V-card. A night neither of them will forget and no expectations for the future was the deal, but fate is a tricky witch and Summer and her hookup will meet again. When she can’t find a place to live, her brother agrees to let Summer live with him and his roommate until she can get a dorm room, turns out her brother’s roommate is Ryan, her one night stand. Summer and Ryan do their best to fight their attraction to each other but it is a losing battle.
I loved these characters, they are sexy, and unique. Their lives and emotions are complex and filled with, love, laughter, joy, and profound sorrow. I think this is a must read, absolutely fantastic book. It made me laugh and cry, then delivered a wonderful, and for the main characters, and (in my opinion) a much deserved, happily ever after.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of the ARC.
No Feelings Involved brings out all the real feelings. It’s got angst, some drama, love, heartache, and happiness. Plenty of steamy moments and some shocking twists too.
Summer is free spirited and full of life at eighteen. She wants to lose her v-card before starting college and has a plan. She wants an older, more experienced man who knows what he’s doing. She doesn’t want a relationship, just a no strings attached one night stand. Ryan meets all the criteria. His ex has left him jaded towards love. One incredible night together, then they both walk away.
Summer moves in with her brother and her sexy one night stand happens to be his roommate, best friend and business partner. Their intense chemistry is still present, but both know Summer’s brother wouldn’t approve of their relationship.
I loved this story and it was great catching up with some old favorites too. The second epilogue brought a perfect ending to this book.
Sibohan Davis has a way with stories that are packed full of feelings. She puts her characters through the ringer and since the reader gets connected to them, the reader gets to ride that same emotional rollercoaster.
I really liked both of the main characters in the story. She was fun, direct and someone you want as a friend. He was hot, slightly screwed up and sweet.
The plot was clear and interesting.
Overall I would recommend this book.
Welp, she’s done it again. Siobhan Davis writes romance like no other.
No Feelings Involved by Siobhan Davis is a full length standalone. The story is told from dual POV, which I always love. The plot is absolutely amazing and watching it all play out… completely brilliant.
I absolutely love reading books that take me through a gamut of emotions and that’s exactly what you get with No Feelings Involved. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to smack a couple of characters a few times, I felt it all and I loved every single minute of it.
Summer Peterson is an 18-year-old girl just about to head off to college. BUT she has a few things she wants to accomplish before she starts her first semester. Summer is young but she has an old soul and even though she’s a goofy carefree girl, she knows exactly what she wants and has every intention of making it happen.
Ryan James is the definition of a playboy. He’s not looking for love nor commitment but he’s always up for a good time.
So when these two catch each other’s eye across the dance floor of a club, it’s not long before they end up back at Summers hotel room. They agree that neither of them wants any strings attached, just a night filled with passion and then to never see each other again. Summer wants to spread her wings and doesn’t want to start college attached to anyone, and Ryan… well Ryan is just Ryan and after his ex burned him he just doesn’t “do” relationships.
One night, no feelings involved…
But fate… well, she had other ideas.
I absolutely loved these characters. Summer is like my spirit animal, she’s the life of the party without even meaning to be and the best part is she doesn’t even realize it. She’s a wonderful girl and if anyone could crack that hard exterior of Ryan’s, it would be her.
Ryan, you can’t help but want to hug him, all while wanting to slap him upside his head. Gosh, he’s been so twisted up over something for sooo long, when if he had just asked he wouldn’t of went through so much heartache. But as always, I guess everything happens for a reason.
These two together have out of this world chemistry. From the sparks that they both feel at just the slightest of touches, to the way that they can just feel one another when they walk into the room. Not to mention the mindblowing steamy sex… shew!
There was no way that these two couldn’t fall head over heels for each other.
“He’s barely touching me. It’s the lightest of caresses, but it’s wholly intimate, and I long to turn around and latch my mouth onto his. To wrap my legs around his waist and grind my hips against his hard-on. To yank his sweats down, push my panties aside, and direct his cock inside me. To feel him moving as one with me so I forget I exist on this planet without him.”
If you have read When Forever Changes (if you haven’t you don’t need to but you absolutely SHOULD because it’s a freaking awesome book!) you may remember Gabby’s brother Ryan. He wasn’t a huge character in that story but he was there. It was awesome to see Gabby and Slater still going strong. All of the secondary characters… well besides Hanna and Jordan because I still don’t like EITHER of them, are absolutely wonderful characters, makes me wish I had a big family too.
I LOVED that Summer was from Bridgeville and was going to college at the University of Deleware, I’m actually from Maryland so Deleware is basically right next door to me. I’ve never found another book that is based locally so I thought that was pretty cool.
A touch of forbidden romance, a little angst, and oh so much romance! No Feelings Involved is perfect. I highly recommend!
NO FEELINGS INVOLVED by Siobhan Davis, A Brother’s Best Friend. This is the story of Summer Petersen and Ryan James.
Summer is 18 years young and heading off to college, but before she goes she wants to rid herself of the one thing left of her young innocent life. Ryan is the one she chooses to open her to the world of becoming a women. Someone who is older, more experienced and most importantly someone she won’t see again. Sadly (or happily) she only got two of those things. Ryan has been burned by love so its not on his life goals anymore. Ryan is out to enjoy women but do nothing permanently. Although his hot encounter with Summer gave him a few doubts, he still tried to stick to them. But then the two find out that they have a few things in common. One is Summer’s brother who is Ryan good Friend and that they will be roommates. They have to keep their night a secret now but for how long will that last when they can’t stay away from each other?
Enjoyed their story.
Siobhan Davis has done to again! She’s written another 5 star read that takes hold of the reader and doesn’t let go even when they get to the end. No Feelings Involved is an addictive story about allowing your heart to heal and taking a chance on love. I know this is Ryan and Summer’s story, but I really feel it was Ryan who took the biggest journey. He’s spent most of his life being afraid of love and commitment, but Summer’s arrival makes him feel things he’s never felt before. I loved experiencing the connection between this couple and seeing them constantly drawn together. Siobhan Davis’ words allow you to be with Ryan and Summer every step of the way and you forget about reality as you become so involved in them finding their way through the obstacles in their way.
We also get to catch up with Gabby and Slater from When Forever Changes, but either book can be read completely independent of the other. However, you’ll definitely want to read the other once you’ve read the first. Picking up No Feelings Involved felt like coming home to good friends after being taken on an emotional roller-coaster ride by Gabby and Slater’s story last year. Both are recommended reads and I urge you to pick up either, or both, today!
