Can this skeptical player let down his guard long enough to let love into his life, or is this forbidden romance a train wreck in the making? Ryan James doesn’t believe in love. It’s a truth he learned early in life. A truth he carried with him into adulthood. He broke his golden rule one time, but Myndi trampled all over his heart, cementing his belief that love is a lie and not worth the … love is a lie and not worth the effort.
Now he’s returned to his cynical views and promiscuous lifestyle, racking up more notches on his bedpost than he can count.
Until Summer Petersen comes crashing into his world, threatening to knock down his walls with her tempting body and sunny, sweet personality.
Summer is determined to lose her V-card before she starts freshman year of college, and the hot, older guy with the cute dimples, dazzling smile, and rippling biceps is just the man for the job. Ryan doesn’t take much persuading, and he rocks her world, giving her a night to remember.
When they walk away, there’s an unspoken agreement it was a one-time thing. Ryan doesn’t do feelings, and Summer doesn’t want to be tied down at eighteen.
But when she moves into her brother Austin’s apartment, she’s shocked to discover her new roomie is the guy who recently popped her cherry.
Ryan can’t believe he slept with Austin’s baby sister, and if he finds out, he’ll literally kill him. Keeping their hook up a secret is nonnegotiable. Keeping his thoughts, and his hands, off Summer, less so. Because the longer he’s around her, the more he finds himself catching feelings for the gorgeous brunette.
Summer doesn’t want to care for her older brother’s best friend, but Ryan makes her feel things she’s never felt before, and she’s slowly falling under his spell.
Embarking on an illicit affair behind Austin’s back has train wreck written all over it, but provided they keep their feelings in check, they can end this before he ever finds out.
It’s not like either of them is in love.
Right?
This is a full length 80,000 word STANDALONE new adult romance. Not recommended for readers under the age of eighteen due to mature content. This is the second book in a duet, although both books can be read as standalone romances as they focus on different couples.

Ms. Davis did that again! Another Great standalone romance with insanely strong feelings Ale over The place, but that’s what we love when one reads standalone by Ms.Davis.
The relationship between Summer and Ryan started unexpectedly when they had a one night stand. Then BAM – Summer will live with Ryan and her brother. She’s off limits! Bro code you know.
But what if fate and their hearts have different plans? Can those two have something more when it started from that kind of event?
I promise you a wild emotional ride with those characters. Also, this one is on the “lighter” side when it comes to Ms. Davis books.
Alright, first things first, if you haven’t read any of Siobhan Davis books, where have you been living, under a rock? Seriously, people do yourself a favor and start go and start reading from her first series on or start here with this one because here standalones and THE BEST! You get everything you want in a book, romance, family, friendships and it’s always action pack and she wraps it up amazingly. Every time I read another one of her standalones, she amazes me and I can’t get enough of them and cannot wait for the next one, but don’t get me wrong I’m just as hooked on her series 🙂
Now, let’s get to this crazy ride that No Feelings Involved was…Summer Petersen, she is what every girl wishes they were. She is not afraid to speak her mind at, she’s not afraid to get what she is and trust me she goes for it not asking anyone for any favors or for any opionions, damn I wish I had a little bit of her courage. lol
Ryan James, ah, not only he will make your swoon over and over again, he is the opposite and totally the perfect guy for Summer. He doesn’t know what he wants, well one thing he know for sure is that he wants want love (yeah right), he doesn’t ask for everything from anyone. Well these two were in for a treat.
Summer decided to lose her V card right before starting college and came in Ryan, an older guy that totally did the job but rock her world too. But they were both in for a surprise of their lives when she moves in with her bother Austin and discovers that his roomie which will be her new roomie too is no other and Ryan and guy she lost her V card too. They both decide to not tell Austin the truth or he would otherwise kill Ryan in the process and because strike a deal to live their lives like they don’t each other. Of course as the time goes by things gets more heated and they both seem to have a hard time to keep their hands to themselves. Will they be able to keep things private without Austin knowing, will they be able to keep things just as friends?
Hot, hot, hot and the chemistry between these two were crazy. And they story was perfect…Summer was just what Ryan needed on his life, but don’t think things goes smooth between them, be ready for a ride. And family is always lovely to have around, right?
Another 5 out of 5 stars for this one…loved Summer and Ryan, loved seeing old characters make an appearance, loved getting to know new characters. Overall amazing.

Siobhan Davis knows how to pair her characters for riveting connections and build their stories around hairpin page turns. No Feelings Involved is another success that can be added to this author’s impressively angsty collection of work!
What started off as an anonymous happenstance encounter with no strings soon escalated into much more when this couple was unexpectedly thrown together. Unable to avoid their attraction to each other, both physically and eventually emotionally, this book tackled a variety of issues ranging from age gaps to betrayals. Ryan was a strong lead that battled not only hiding his feelings but maintaining the facade of his being a player to hide his scars from his own and others doomed relationships and miscommunication. Summer was like her name implied, sunny and warm with an open heart and mind. It was moving to watch feelings develop between Ryan and Summer and even more so to see how their love did not die despite being tested.
This writer packs in a lot of details and action in her books all the while maintaining a progression that advances naturally. Not afraid to delve into the darker side of life Ms. Davis gives extraordinary glimpses into her characters strengths and weaknesses for well-rounded depictions that are intriguing and memorable. This author makes her complex portrayals and plots seem easy showing her skill at writing.
A read that will swallow readers up in a fabulous emotional upheaval No Feelings Involved was anything but that and will leave readers counting down the day to this author’s next story!
*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While connected to another book by this author this story can be read as a stand alone.*
I absolutely loved this story! I loved ryans character in ‘when forever changes’ so i was excited to find out he would be getting his own book!
Ryan is literally the sweetest person ever! He is kind and loving but hes also pretty guarded when it comes to protecting himself from heartbreak. It was great to see his development throughout the story!
Summer is also a great character! She is so strong and mature. Loved her!
It was awesome to catch up with gabby and slater too
I loved every second of this book
When I was reading this book, I couldn’t believe this was a Siobhan Davis book. Where’s my drama and plot twists? This book was a straightforward sweet love story with two fabulous characters. There’s some drama and angst but nowhere near to what this author has spoiled me with. Nevertheless, it was a fast read and very entertaining too!
Summer was decided to lose her V-card before starting university at UD. She arrives in town, goes to a bar with her bestie Hannah and Hannah’s boyfriend Jordan, and proceeds to look for a victim (ahem, a hook-up). She finds this gorgeous guy, they hook up, make clear this is a one-time event, and proceed to knock each other’s socks off.
One week later, Summer appears at her brother’s apartment to stay with him until she finds a dorm room, and hey presto! Austin’s roommate and business partner is none other than the one-night stand/hookup/owner of Summer’s V-card. What made this mix up believable is that she knows him as Ryan but her brother calls him James, as in he’s Ryan James. Now they have to co-exist in a very uncomfortable status. Summer has three older brothers and they are fanatically protective of their little sister, so if Austin knows what happened between them, it would be instant murder.
What transpires is a story that starts in unrequited lust, goes into constant arousal for both, turns into a secret they have to keep from her brother and Ryan’s sister Gabby and both set of parents. There are parties involving parents, siblings, nephews and nieces, where they have to act as friends. Both Summer and Ryan try to move on and date other people, but the appeal has gone, since the one they want is the one next to them in the apartment.
The plot-line stays linear, all about Summer and Ryan and how they move on from their initial hookup and later living together conditions. Of course, there’s no way to resist the lure, and then they face more difficult problems. I found Ryan to be very honorable and Summer very mature. Even though Ryan was older by eight years, Summer’s maturity and self-assurance make them match very well. The hindrance is in Ryan’s attitude towards relationships and marriage and eternal love. As in, he doesn’t believe in them.
There’s an itty-bitty plot twist towards the end that adds some spice towards the story. Some parts were a bit cheesy, like when they cuddle the nieces or nephews, but the overall sense is of a sweet and delightful, and surprisingly light-hearted story with a touch of angst.
I usually devour Siobhan’s books and I decided this time I would take my time. It was so worth it! I loved this book so much! Ryan and Summer were perfect! The way these two met was exciting, explosive and sexy as hell! Summer decided before she starts college that she wanted to get her v card punched and get on with her life plan. She meets Ryan, a hot older guy at a club and the moment these two meet is hotness! The steam rose of the pages of my kindle app and was seriously heading for a meltdown! All they both wanted was a one night stand, no feelings involved and move on. That’s exactly what happened… Summer is ready to start college and finds out she has to move in with her older brother because previous arrangements didn’t work out. When she gets there, she finds out that her brother has a roommate and she realizes the roomie is her one night stand! Awkward! It makes things a little sticky but they work it out. As their story unfolds, it was awesome to revisit one of my favorite couples Gabby and Slate! These two.. sigh.. the whole book was amazing and another winner. Siobhan never disappoints and she definitely didn’t this time! I received a complimentary copy of this book.
Let me first start off this review with how much I envy Summer. She is such a strong, independent, confident and self assured young woman. She is determined to live her life (and lose her virginity) on her own terms. It’s such an important trait to portray to young woman who read. We have the power to choose what we do with our bodies, which is very appropriate to the culture today.
The relationship between Summer and Ryan is sexy, fun and angsty. I personally love the hot older guy/brother’s best friend troupe. The fact that they are now roommates, makes this story even better. The sexual tension and chaos that follows, makes this book hard to put down.
Another fact I enjoy about this book and about Siobhan’s books in general, is that she takes secondary characters from her other books and shines a light on them, in their own books. I love being in the same world and learning more about the characters in it.
This book was a great read with some intense scenes that I did not expect.
Oh Siobhan Davis you always write books that I LOVE! Thank you again for another great story. Completely wrapped up in this one and read it so quickly because I HAD to know what was going to happen. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
Q: For the first time in over two years, I’ve met someone who threatens these steel walls I’ve built around my heart, and I don’t fucking like it one bit.
I have read many books by Siobhan Davis over the last year and a half, and I have enjoyed every last one of them. While No Feelings Involved isn’t my favorite book she’s written (which I’ve read), yet it was an entertaining read nonetheless. Siobhan’s writing appeals to me on multiple fronts. Her stories are very entertaining, with all the fundamental moments I am looking for in a romance novel. By that I mean they are steamy, sweet, captivating and often they offer a return to characters we’ve met in the past. For example, readers will remember Ryan James from When Forever Changes as the brother and best friend of the heroine of the story. Personally, I adore getting to see secondary characters in books and finding their own HEAs. Interconnected standalones give us the opportunity for a fresh story, but a glimpse into characters we’ve grown attached to. Ryan was one of my most favorite characters in the previous story, so seeing his story was coming, I jumped all over the chance to dive into a new Siobhan Davis story. This best friend’s little sister/one-night stand romance was written in dual POV and readers will love connecting to both characters. I found the pacing slightly inconsistent but there were so many wonderful things about the book that it was the last thing on my mind when all was said and done. No Feelings Involved was a steamy contemporary romance with enough angst to squeeze my heart, sizzle aplenty and even some swoon-worthy moments… and a precious toddler that just had me chuckling and made my ovaries explode with the desire for another precarious little man (I have 3 of my own though so honestly I’m good ). I definitely recommend this story to fellow romance lovers and offer it at 4-Stars.
Quotes:
“He needs to be older and know what he’s doing. I haven’t waited this long to give it up in a sweaty encounter with some drunken frat boy who needs a compass to locate my clit.”
I don’t even know the girl’s name, but she left a lasting impression. For reasons unknown, I haven’t been able to shake her from my mind. And I’ve had zero interest in screwing any girl since which is most unlike me.
“I want to kill your ex for what she did to you. Because you can spout the age gap and my brother at me all you like, but I know the real obstacle is your fear. Fear of feeling something. Fear of opening your heart and letting someone in again. So much fear you can’t even give your body what it needs.”
She joked she was addicted to sex. I’m terrified I’m addicted to her.
My head and my heart are at war over this girl, and I’ve no clue who the victor will be.
I’m completely head over heels for Summer Peterson. And that means I’m totally and utterly screwed.
Siobhan has become one of my favorite authors over the last couple of years! I love that with each book a new adventure awaits and your not sure what kind of a ride your in for.
Summer is in my top female character category. I loved her spirit and her personality. She was girl who I would’ve pictured myself to be. Strong, independent, out spoken and shows restraint to hot guys.
Ryan I feel has been a character I’ve read before. Not saying he didn’t do anything for me because he did! He was still strong swoon worthy but just predictable.
Together they made the book come alive and I appreciated the story. The ending was perfect and gave closure to all the questions I would’ve asked if it had turned out different.
This book was definitely more tame then the ones before but nothing can keep me from reading more from this author!

“My head and my heart are at war over this girl, and I’ve no clue who the victor will be.”
Summer is about to start college. Leaving her small town and her overprotective brothers behind, she hopes that now at eighteen, she can live out her own adventures, new experiences, and make mistakes. And nothing better than starting this new journey by acquiring sexual experiences. After all, the older, handsome guy who does not take his eyes off her can be a good candidate for her first time.
Ryan is averse to compromise. Having his share of disappointments and broken hearts, he just wants to have fun, a one night stand without attachments and responsibilities. When he saw a beautiful young girl, he did not realize that this night would reserve him a beautiful and unique surprise.
One night. A common agreement. An absurd chemistry and many activities between the sheets. And the farewell the next day. Until Summer has nowhere to live and needs to take shelter from her big brother. And meet his best friend and partner, none other than Ryan. And what was to be a chance encounter turns into a big mess.
And with the two on the same roof, we’ll have a lot of embarrassing moments, a lot of sexual tension, a big split secret, even more protective siblings and feelings that will insist on surfacing.
Add a bad friend (sorry, Hannah did not deserve forgiveness), a false friend, an eighteen-year-old girl making a lot of bullshit, an ex that still leaves her mark, a misunderstanding of the past, an unexpected situation, enough drama, a tormented young man but honest and several clichés of the genre and we have a fun romantic novel.
Ryan draw sighs. Summer irritated me in several times, but I put up with because of her young age. The narrative is fluid, the book is well written, we see characters from another book and the story holds the reader.
A good novel, with a coherent couple, who seeks their happy ending in the midst of adversity.

This is my first book of Siobhan and I loved every part of it. It was fun, easy to read, with the exact amount of drama and most of all, love.
I really laugh with this crazy girl who wants to conquer the world. Summer has this sparkle that infects everything with joy and good things. And what a good way to show what she wants. I was jealous of her courage and maturity to put the face and no retreat when things go south.
Ryan was delicious. Just imagine how good could he be being the owner of a gym. But this is just a plus. He is so caring for his people, able to put his own person to protect others
I was a little disappointed at some point when a certain event occurred but the author was smart to resolve it.
Super recommended. Lots of fun and juicy spicy moments that increased the temperature.
This story contains some grief and it does take a turn for the worse but things always have a way of working themselves out. Lots of laughs, some sadness, loss and growth for these two. Loved it!!
Fantastic story of Summer and Ryan. She is eighteen and he is eight years older. They meet and have an amazing one-night stand. What they don’t know is that Ryan is best friend’s with Summer’s brother. A very uptight brother who will NOT approve of them together. Because Ryan used to be a player just like her brother, and because of the so-called age difference. They meet up again and have to keep it secret that they know each other. This book was a fabulous read and I loved it from beginning to end. Very highly recommended read.
With “No Feelings Involved” Siobhan Davis has penned a sexy, angsty and heartfelt story about love and forgiveness.
When Summer decided to lose her virginity before started college she planned ahead. Find a sexy, experienced guy who’d agree to a no strings attached one night stand. She found the ideal guy who gave her a perfect night to remember. There was no way she could’ve known he was her brother’s best friend and future roomie.
Summer knows she’s way too young to be in a serious relationship and isn’t interest in one and Ryan doesn’t believe in love or relationships at all. It should all work out. But as much as they try to avoid each other and fight their attraction, their chemistry is undeniable and soon they board an emotional roller-coaster they might not survive.
Davis knows how to write complex characters, Ryan is one of them. His and Summer’s story kept me interested and turning pages until the very end wanting to know how their romance would unfold. I was saddened by the trials and tribulations they had to go through but loved Ryan’s change into a loving boyfriend not to mention their sizzling hot chemistry.
No Feelings Involved is yet another touching standalone, contemporary romance by Siobhan Davis. It is a forbidden, big brother’s best friend romance told from both points of view, and has a happy ending. No cliffhanger.
I love a good brother’s best friend romance! Good chemistry and passion between Ryan and Summer. Not a huge fan of the whole I’m going to lose my virginity to some random guy scenario, and the back and forth between the characters; I don’t like the unnecessary drama and it makes the characters seem like morons sometimes as well. Summer’s carefree attitude isn’t my favorite and she’s pretty free with herself to others, so I didn’t care for that. I like that she just comes out and says what she wants. I do like the drama with the “forbidden” aspect. I struggled through the beginning of the story; too many cliche scenarios and immature, but as the story progressed I enjoyed it. The romance is sweet and hot. I liked Summer and Ryan’s connection. Ryan and Summer are both okay characters; didn’t love them, but interesting enough. The writing didn’t quite flow as well as it could’ve, but the author did a good job. One exception though, Can we please stop with the line – “Is it going to fit” – that line is so stupid and in so many romances, it needs to go away. I always hate that line. Overall, a sweet and sexy read that is only a little annoying.
Love that although it’s a stand alone novel it’s still a continuation of the previous stories. Summer and Ryan are so good together. Other than some language I love this and found it fun heartwarming and interesting.
Cute, quick romance read. I loved the realistic portrayal of Ryan and Summer’s relationship – the back and forth, the struggle to do what each thought was right in the situation. Another great book by Siobhan!!
No Feelings Involved is a great romance with Davis’ signature writing style and intense relationship.
The main characters, Ryan and Summer, have incredible chemistry. Their attraction to each other drips off the pages from their first meeting. Davis is a such talented romance writer that I think she could write an intense and angsty romance between inanimate objects.
Summer’s character can almost be classified in the group of main characters that are too wise or insightful for their age. Instead, Summer strikes a delicate balance between wise and annoyingly preachy. She’s emotionally intelligent, mature, and open. In contrast, Ryan is emotionally stupid and closed off. This stark difference in their personalities is what makes their relationship so compelling as they learn from each other and grow as individuals.
The reason I rated this novel four stars instead of five is entirely plot related. Something happens that I dislike reading about because it’s not a trope I can’t and/or want to sympathize with. Is that harsh? Probably, so take this section with a grain of salt. The first 60% of the novel I would rate five stars, but the final 40% I would rate lower simply because of my dislike of the trope and not because of anything technical.
Overall, No feelings Involved has Davis’ signature chemistry and intense relationship with salient themes making Davis’ latest romance not to be missed.
