Mr. Snarly-saurus takes on the Pixie Spark that lights up his life!
I love this author’s way with words, the lyrical flow of emotions, the growly, grumpy, heart-of-gold heroes, the spitfire heroines who save the hero so he can save the world. Papa Bear fire chief Blake and vagabond hippy Peace are another fantastic couple in the amazing Heart’s Edge series. She brings all the healing music to his life, enabling him to rage against the fiery threats to his beloved family and community.
Blake’s story has so much depth, so much angst, so much pain! Peace doesn’t have all the answers, but her presence brings everything into focus and makes everything right in his world. I couldn’t get enough of these two, and the intense heat between them was off the charts!
The mysterious arson investigation loops in all our favorite couples as Warren, Leo, and Doc help figure out the clues and rescue each other from the flames. The perpetrator turns out to be the last person you’d expect in a brilliant twist that nearly broke my heart.
This is a long book – proving once again that epic stories are well worth reading – so be prepared to settle in and ignore the rest of the world for a good long time as this book will steal you completely away and make you forget everything but Heart’s Edge.
I loved the years later epilogue and how it not only updated us on Blake and Peace’s HEA but snuck in another one as well. This story is a true work of art, and I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a thrilling romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Spread your Wings and Fly With Me…
I immediately fell in love with the town of Heart’s Edge from the very first book. It’s true, everyone knows everybody and their business but they will always have your back in a crisis. This town has charm but most of all it has heroes who are the first to admit that they are no such thing.
Blake Silverton is one of those heroes, though he is the first to admit that is absolutely not true. He is the town’s Fire Chief. Rugged and broken is the best way to describe him. Torment and loss plagues Blake and he holds it in his body, soul and heart. He is constantly agonizing how he wishes things had turned out differently in his life.
Peace Rabe comes to Heart’s Edge and breathes life and hope into the town, especially with Blake. He tries to stay clear of Peace. She is young, gorgeous and she is definitely hands off. But when the two of them meet, their chemistry is immediate and electric. Peace saw in Blake the sincerity, honesty and truth in him and never gave up on him.
This story had intrigue and a “whodunit” that had me guessing throughout the story. Nicole Snow once again writes another heartfelt passionate love story that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Blake and Peace will set your Kindle on fire. Blake’s a damaged soul in many ways. He wears many hats, single father raising a teenager, fire chief and host of a radio advice call in show. He has lots of baggage from his childhood, the war and his marriage. A cheating wife, an abusive mother, a rif with his half brother and a leg injury add to his emotional and physical pain. No shortage of drama, twists or suspense in his romantic thriller. The drama and suspense intensify as they search for a deadly arsonist who is terrorizing the town. Well written with well-developed characters and a page-turning story line. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I read it in one sitting. No cliffhanger and a HEA you’ll enjoy.
On her way to a new adventure, Peace’s van breaks down, that’s when she meets Fire Chief/single-hot-dad Blake.
Blake grew up in Heart’s Edge and knows all it’s secrets. Peace left Hawaii to pursue her travels. Peace is the free spirit to Blake’s tired, ‘keep on keeping on’ attitude, which hasn’t failed him yet…much. Peace’s specialty is massage therapy and Blake is the perfect candidate for her talents. Years ago, while fighting for his country, Blake took shrapnel in his thigh. Till this day, he still feels the pain as if it were yesterday, physically as well as emotionally. Peace eases his pain with massage as well as just being near him. Blake is definitely interested, but a woman like Peace needs to be free, not bogged down with a grumpy guy with a messed up leg. If he’d just ask Peace, maybe he’d learn that being without him isn’t how she wants her future to look.
Doc, Leo, Warren and Blake have given up a lot to keep Heart’s Edge safe. A fire that could be arson, has them worried that there might be someone trying to upend the peace they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
EVERY TIME. EVERY TIME I READ ONE OF NICOLE’S BOOKS, I’M SO ENGROSSED IN THE STORY, I FORGET I’M ACTUALLY READING. I’M TOTALLY TRANSPORTED IN TO HER WORLD BY HER WORDS !
SEXUALLY CHARGED AND EMOTIONALLY INTENSE ! I CRIED, I LAUGHED AND I LAUGHED SOME MORE ! ! ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK !
“No Damaged Goods” is a soul-stirring roller-coaster read with a mystery to unravel. Fantastic character interaction, spine-chilling action, gripping suspense, a lot of flirting, life-threatening issues, family drama, sizzling romance, and a happy forever make this an enthralling read.
Blake, the charismatic fire chief, meets the feisty voice of reason Peace when her van bursts into flames on her way into Heart’s Edge. Blake has his hands full with a teen daughter and keeping his unwanted fiery desires for Peace at bay. Peace is a multitalented woman with a massive crush on Blake. These two have a few hurdles to conquer before reaching their happy forever.
Captivating well-written read with backstories that give readers insight into each character’s persona. The romance is convincing and passionate. The author shows that letting go of the past is pivotal in all relationships. Finding this a gratifying read, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy through Booksprout. I do look forward to reading more from this author.
