This is No Damaged Goods written by Nicole Snow. We find ourselves back in Heart’s Edge as Peace get stranded and is now a visitor there. Peace soon meets the gorgeous and damaged Blake Silverton and then things get hot! Get it…arsonist in town…things get hot?! Humph, anyway I have enjoyed every story of this town and the amazing people that live there and call it home. I hope we have several more stories to go! I would love to see how all of the newly matched friends are doing with their kids and married lives a few years farther down the road. Hint hint Ms Snow! Please?!?
What starts as a spark quickly becomes a blaze. Nicole Snow is at it again! Can small town Heart’s Edge sustain another catastrophe? You’re about to find out in this roller coaster ride of who done it!
Hippie chick Peace Rabe makes the road her home, floating where ever the wind takes her. As a masseuse she can find work almost anywhere. When the van she’s driving, which is older than her, decides to go up in a blaze on the side of the mountain during a snow storm, she’s left with no choice but to call 911 for help.
What she got is the smoking hot fire chief with a silver tongue, Blake Silverton. Blake is an eye full – built like a brick wall with a voice that melts panties. Their unusual meeting is just the start of a series of events in the small town. The people are still reeling from recent events that had horrible consequences.
Snow has a unique ability to weave romance with suspense, making her readers want more. The only reason I’m not 5 starring this is that the age gap is too wide for me. The story’s premise, though, is really good.
This intriguing read kept me on the edge of my seat as each page was turned of this well written storyline and the characters were created with such great detail and depth that Blake and Peace kept me totally engaged until the turn of the very last page!
What a wonderful new addition to the Heart’s Edge series. To say Blake; the fire chief of Heart’s Edge is Hot is an understatement. The chemistry between Blake and Peace is so electric you can’t help but be pulled into their story. I enjoyed the storyline and love how Ms Snow is able to make each couple in this series unique. I found Blake and Peace’s story to have a bit more romance than the previous stories and yet just as intriguing and full of drama and suspense as the others. I always like when the author weaves the previous characters from a series into the new book. And you can’t go wrong with a flawed alpha male. There is just something about a man who is strong, protective of the female character and yet vulnerable at the same time. I absolutely loved this book and the great HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Part thriller, part passionate romance, fully wonderful, delicious, scary and even sad…
When I write a review, I keep a pad for notes. When I review one of Ms. Snow’s books, I keep several. Trying to condense her raw, intense and amazing puzzle of a story in a few words is difficult. I wanted to highlight the OMG moments, but there were just too many! Some had me squirming, some screaming at the book, while others had me in tears. This is a must read…The writing is beautiful (I’ve highlighted with a rainbow), realistic and fierce. I’m still haunted by the last scene between Blake and Justin. Covers not bad either!
Peace Rabe is a free-wheeling sort of girl who goes where the wind takes her and today it has taken her to Heart’s Edge, Montana or at least her hippie van does when it breaks down in a blaze. Vehicles breaking down is a common occurrence in Heart’s Edge;-) As a massage therapist she carries her business with her but this also allows her to notice that her hero is a fireman with a limp. Hmmm…
Volunteer Fire Chief Blake is there to put out the fire on her van. His wife died four years ago leaving him to raise his now teenage daughter which is challenging. Having a hard time coping causes his old war wound to act up. When Blake finally relents and lets Peace give him a massage, he finds the first serenity in a long while. Doesn’t hurt that his masseuse is one amazing red-headed wonder with great hands. Sparks fly!
This book was angsty, deliciously lusty, edge-of-your-seat thrilling and beautifully written. I loved how Ms. Snow made mention of other books in her library of works. Cool. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes highly recommended. I’d give it 10 super stars if I could!
I love this series and No Damaged Goods is a fantastic addition! I loved Peace and Blake’s story! They were perfect for each other. Peace was just what Blake needed. It just took him awhile to realize it. There is drama, suspense, arson, explosions, teen angst, kidnapping along with hot, steamy sexy times. I love all the Hearts Edge books. The characters are great and the storylines are very entertaining! I look forward to Nicole’s next book!
Great series. Well written and so enjoyable. What a wild ride with these two. Add in the bad people and it gets even more wild. Emotions both bad and good, suspense, danger, excitement. Two people who have feelings for each other but so much bad history together to get through. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Love hearts edge
Love this series
Blake and Peace grabbed my heart
Intense emotional broken heart stopping love story
Ready for more
Finally Blake’s story and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Peace and Blake are absolutely perfect for each other. Another interesting story in this series that will have you hooked.
Nicole Snow knocks it out of the park again as she gives another brooding hero of Hearts Edge a happily ever after. Blake is grumpy as he struggles with his injury, his teenage daughter and a life filled with regrets. Peace is a reflection of her name. She is the antithesis to Blake who just wants to make everyone happy.
This is a story filled with angst and drama. The author writes of full bodied characters with tortured pasts looking for healing. Peace is the perfect flower child born decades to late, who is able to soothe the beast churning within Blake. Once again the town is threatened by evil and it takes the old heroes and some new ones to keep it from burning down. You will not be disappointed and will keep turning the pages until you read the last word fully satisfied with the outcome.
This is a good story with good characters and does work well as a standalone or a continuation to the series.
Blake and Peace will have your emotions all over the place. They have so much in common especially when it comes from dysfunctional families. They have both lost loved ones. Peace fell in love with Blake’s voice from the radio and when her car decides to give up and catch fire, it is Blake that comes to her rescue. As she maneuvers around town she gets a feel for it and the people. Peace has a serious vibe for Blake and when she meets his daughter they even hit it off but someone has it in for the town heroes and is causing fires and when they get close it may just take out the entire town. Will Blake become the hero he claims he is not and save the day? This story is filled with drama and suspense. You will be glued to the pages to find out just who the culprit is!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Blake is a fire chief and single dad, and Peace is a feisty free spirit, who has Blake coming to her rescue. These two have both suffered loss and the chemistry between them is undeniable, bit will they take a chance on each other? This is a beautifully written story which is filled with drama, suspense, emotion, intrigue and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.
Heart’s Edge is in danger once again. This time someone in Heart’s Edge wants to burn it down but Blake isn’t about to let that happen. He has to figure out who is behind the fires before the whole town has to pay….When Peace comes into town she isn’t prepared for what comes next. All her time has been spent traveling and looking for something, will Heart’s Edge hold what she’s been looking for? This was another great standalone. Loved the story and all the characters.
I voluntarily reviewed a ARC
This is a heartfelt story with tons of action, drama and suspense along with the instant attraction and connection between Blake and Peace. Their characters are strong and have a hot chemistry. It’s an intriguing story with the author bringing tons of emotions .. happy and sad .. and weaves a slow burning small town romance in Heart’s Edge. It’s well written with detailed scenes , flows fluidly and I loved reading .. loved the epilogue. Highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Peace and Blake’s story has lots of twists and turns that keeps you flipping the pages. Love the story line and the characters. Beautiful ending.
I love the town of Heart’s Edge and their heroes.
Blake, Mr. Silver Tongue, Silverton is the fire chief and last single guy of the group. Peace Rabe, Broccoli, is in town for the winter. She’s a massage therapist and drawn to Blake the moment she hears his voice on the radio and then meets him when her van catches on fire. Blake’s priority is his teenage daughter, Andrea, but he’s drawn to the little firecracker that Peace is.
An arsonist on the loose and the return of Blake’s half brother, Holt, has Blake and the guys trying to save Heart’s Edge again. Peace brings the best out of Blake. She helps him thru his pain and to overcome some of his grief from his past. She helps him fly.
Peace and Blake … two complex characters … they may be my favorite couple of Ms. Snow’s to date.
A plot like a mix of romance, thriller and mystery.
Combined, they are the perfect recipe for a book that can’t be put down!
Blake is this hot, strong, protective and caring alpha male to die for, and so confused and torn by his feelings and concern for what is happening around him that he feels trapped like a caged lion …
Peace is the exact opposite, a butterfly floating through the air, a hummingbird flitting from flower to flower, flying from one place to another without taking root …
This book thrives on the controversy of the characters … Characters that are as profound as still wells and yet sparkling with life because Ms. Snow describes them so vividly and in such detail.
The plot is, like in all of these Heroes of Heart’s Edge books, twisted, sometimes thrilling and fast paced, sometimes deceptively slowed down to get going again a few moments later, and at other times heartbreaking or romantic … a truly heady cocktail.
This is yet another masterpiece by this very talented and skilful author, another must-read in this phenomenal series!
Just when you think can’t love the men of Heart’s Edge any more than you already do…the author gives us an older, sexy firefighter with a savior complex!!! YUM!
Blake is a single dad, just doing his best. He’s a busy man trying to raise his teenage daughter all while keeping his town safe as the chief of the fire department. He’s seen as a local hero, but all he wants is a quiet life. Fighting fires when the needs arises, doling out friendly advice late at night on his radio how and trying his best to parent his sixteen year old daughter.
A call from a scared young woman brings him his first glimpse of Peace. She’s staying in town for the winter when her van goes up in flames. Blake is the one to take her emergency call and his desire for more than a quiet life is about to hit him right in the face.
Peace is the epitomy of her namesake. With her hippie fashion sense and her can do attitude, she brings the people around her a sense of peace. She’s a massage therapist, so even her job is about relieving pain and giving folks a feeling of wellbeing.
Blake and Peace share an instant attraction, however Blake is too stubborn to let himself give in. But she’s not going away any time soon. Peace has always been a drifter. Staying some place for a few months and then moving on. However, now that she’s reached Heart’s Edge she realizes never setting down roots wasn’t what she wanted. She’s just been searching for a reason to stay. Blake and his daughter may just give her the reason she needs.
Heart’s edge seems like a quiet town, but it has been plagued by tragedy. This romantic supense will keep you turning pages as Blake works to find out who’s setting fires around town and targeting his friends. As Peace gets caught in the crossfire, Blake steps in as her protector. He may have tried to stay away, but now that she’s under his care, avoiding her isn’t possible. This small town hero has met his match and their chemistry is just scorching!
Blake and Peace’s connection is intense. It’s a slow burn as he attempts to resist her, but Peace is everything that Blake needs. She’s his healer, friend, lover and soul mate. I hope this is not the end of Heart’s Edge because I love this small town and all it’s hero’s! Another incredibly seductive romantic suspense by this author.
