No Damaged Goods delivers a fast paced, intriguing story with just the right amount of steam once our older man/younger woman couple find each other.
What I loved about this story is the intriguing storyline that kept me guessing and trying to figure out who was involved. I kept shifting between who I thought was trustworthy and who wasn’t and that put me in the shoes of each of the characters at one time or another. The author does a wonderful job seamlessly incorporating a variety of themes and revisiting “old” characters without one feeling they have missed anything.
I also liked that a hot romance can embrace the love of family – home family, work family, and community family. That people can make mistakes, admit and grow from those mistakes, once they learn how it impacts others.

Gosh, I loved this book so hard. Heart’s Edge has been put through the ringer. One tragedy after another. So it’s no wonder that for the first time ever I have actually cried for the villian. Nicole has a way with words and can pull you right into the characters trama. Even the villains. I read an advanced copy of this book.
Every time you visit Hearts Edge you can expect suspense and twists, this little town is anything but sleepy. As always, Ms Snow does not disappoint in bringing us the story of one of Heart Edge’s heroes. This time it is Blake’s story, and it will have you on pins and needles, hoping for him and Peace to finally get together and then figuring out whose causing chaos now. I highly recommend this series!

Fall into the beautiful words
Peace and Blake is an unlikely pairing. Physically and emotionally damaged older Blake meets free spirited and much younger Peace when her van catches fire close to small town Heart’s Edge. Attraction and suspense soon moves the story forward. This is a slow burn romance with the added suspense of a Pyro maniac on the lose in the small town known for its intrigue, secrets and heros.
I loved the discriptive language that Nicole uses in this book. In a way the writing is almost poetic. The underlying theme that pulls the moments together in this book is music. The music thread is both obvious and direct (Peace is a song writer) but also used very cleverly in their intimate and emotional moments.
A word of caution though: the flowery language and descriptions, although beautiful does make the story feel somewhat dragged out and slow in places. And the mystery of who is setting the fires? Well developed but could have been resolved quicker…
Final verdict- slow but beautiful. Read when time does not matter and you can truely enjoy the imagery the words provoke.

I’m so glad Blake got his book! Blake is not just the sweet good natured teddy bear we met in previous books. He is tough, a wonderful father, a bit tortured and yes, very sexy!! Peace is adorable and strong. Their love story has lots of angst, danger and steamy scenes. This story would be a great one even without the romance! Such a great series. I hope it continues.
Oh Nicole, Nicole, Nicole….you really know how to write a hero!!
Blake and Peace’s story is book 4 in the Heros of Hearts Edge Series – and although they could be read as standalone, I recommend you read them all! There’s a whole back story which will help you connect all the dots – plus they’re awesome books!!
Blake is a single dad, friends of Warren, Leo and Gray, part time fireman, welder and radio presenter, he was one of the men who helped with the Galetrone palava a few years back, hence Hero of Hearts Edge! He’s also got a bad leg which locks on him and causes untold agony, in steps Peace! She’s a wanderer and Physical Therapist, she’s also got a massive heart, a hippy vibe about her and is just plain likeable!
Hearts Edge still isn’t free of terror, that poor town needs a break!!!
Lots of turns, twists and shocks, attraction and passion, love and hate, and characters that you will instantly love
I voluntarily received an arc from the author and this is my honest review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this as an ARC
Nicole Snow brings us another hottie alpha and the quirky woman who gives him what he doesn’t know what he needs until it slaps him upside the head. I love the town and characters she creates and look forward to her next great read.
Title: No Damaged Goods
Author: Nicole Snow
Genre: Contemporary Suspense Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
Nicole Snow has brought us back to Hearts Edge and the last of original heroes, Blake, burns up in a good way for his lady love.
Nicole Snow has created a world, a town, I wish I could find. Sure it’s small with not much to do but there is so much heart and lots of heat to a woman smiling, if not laughing. Snow has such a way with words I laughed, cried, and tsked over the characters so much. I will say the only negative, I figured out the evil doer right off. It wasn’t difficult. But otherwise this book rocked and rocked hard. Oh, one last thing…could the heroine not be soooo perfect? Seriously? The body, attitude, everything. Ugh. I know these books are fictional and fantasy but as a reader I kinda like putting myself into the story a little, and I am far from perfect. That’s why I loved Ember and well Doc and his wolfish attitude in bed. Yummy. But Blake, wow. That man has stamina and leader of the pack written all over him. He totally is not the goofy guy from the other books. Wolf in sheep clothing. I so want to live in Hearts Edge.
ONE RAGING WILD FIRE ADVENTURE!!!
Warning: Flammable! Nicole hit the mark, cinching every spinning emotion running rampant throughout, blazing forth on a raging inferno, fusing this baby together flawlessly. Illustrating vividly detailed descriptions intertwining each scenario with all the exuberance and gusto bringing them to life before your eyes. Witnessing the inexplicable inconsistencies and disruptive events brings its own boatload of misgivings, intrigue, drama, danger and mounting suspense, blasting this little fella into a tizzy with a life altering, block busting culmination. Running through the trials and tribulations, noting the harrowing twists and unexpected turns, looking for answers, testing our characters through staggering lengths of which they never envisioned. The attraction and chemistry sizzles alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters blend and flow smoothly transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. Remarkable job Nicole, thanks for sharing this jewel with us.
Blake, oh holy hotness, with his growly voice and when he called Peace “broccoli”, I knew that once again I was going to fall for another hero of Hearts Edge. Even though he’s grumpy and believes that he’s not a hero, these two were sizzling around each other. Most of his grumpiness came from the lingering pain of a old injury. And Peace, she is a breath of fresh air mixed with pure sweetness and a big heart. Add in some teenage snark and a long lost brother, along with the appearance of some of our favorite past characters and you have another fantastic story from Nicole Snow that you won’t be able to put down. *** I did receive an ARC but that doesn’t guarantee a positive review. *** This story is wonderful and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Nicole Snow did a wonderful job on this story. No Damaged Goods was a great story, the plot was strong, it was packed with drama, action, suspense and more. It was filled with many emotions. The story was written well, the characters were strong, Blake and Peace were complete opposites yet so perfect together.
Blake hasn’t had the easiest life, he’s gone through a lot but he was a fighter. He would do what he had to, he was very protective, especially to the ones he loved. He’d do anything for them. Peace was good for Blake, she is what he needed in his life, she helped healed him in a way. Their journey may not have been an easy one since they bumped heads a lot but they were drawn to each other, their connection was strong and the chemistry between them was off the charts, it was sexy, they were great together.
I enjoyed Peace and Blake’s story, they were made for each other.
This was a great story. I’d suggest reading.
Thank you, Nicole Snow. Wonderful work 🙂
MR. SILVER TONGUE NEEDS HIS BROCCOLI
NO DAMAGED GOODS is the latest addition to Nicole Snow’s Heart’s Edge Series, but it’s a complete standalone, so you don’t have to read the others to enjoy this one…Although the others are good books…
Peace “Ms. Broccoli” Rabe is a beautiful, twenty five year old hippie child, a massage therapist, a loner and a wanderer, and she wanders into Heart’s Edge with her table and oils and moves into one of the cabins on the Charming Inn property and sets up shop for the winter…Sweet, kind and open to love and life, Peace is smart and an old soul, and when she meets Blake, she’s, basically, done…..if she can just make him see it…
Blake “Mr. Silver Tongue” Silverton is a hot, forty two year old, widower, a wounded, war veteran, an on-air radio personality, a firefighter and one of the “heroes of Heart’s Edge” (whew!)…He is also the loving, mistake-making, single father of Andrea, a very normal teenage girl….When Blake sees Peace, he feels a spark, and she makes no secret she felt it, too, but she’s too young for him (says who?)….
Peace notices Blake’s injury and talks him into letting her work her magic fingers ….and that spark just catches fire…So, when dangerous problems arise in Heart’s Edge, Blake moves Peace into his and Andrea’s home “for Peace’s protection”…yeah, we”ll go with that…..(Blake is in such denial)….He tries to fight both of their feelings, not only because he believes their age difference matters…(it doesn’t)…but, also, he knows she’s leaving when winter is over…and he can’t ask her to stay….(unless she really decides to leave)…..
I love how Peace is young and in love with life, how she plays no games and how she isn’t afraid to pursue who and what she wants….I love how she and Andrea, organically, bond (they are closer to the same age than she and Blake are)…I love how Blake makes mistakes to fatherhood like most normal good dads…but he keeps trying like most normal good dads……I love these characters and their chemistry, and I love how the other characters I already loved in Heart’s Edge, all played a part in this book… I love the twists and turns I didn’t see coming…To summarize….I love this new addition to the Heart’s Edge Series….And I didn’t even mention that cover!!!
ARC review For honest review. Peace rabe a massage therapist blows into heartedge listening to the voice on the radio and putting out fires chief blake Silverton is a man that can light her fire anytime ,But with a arsonist causing problems around town this town think trouble will never end.Awesome 10 star
Excuse the pun; but is there anything hotter than a fireman? No Damaged Goods by Nicole Snow takes us back to the town of Heart’s Edge and the good folks who live there. When I read the previous standalone books of the Heart’s Edge series, I wasn’t a big fan of Blake Silverton; well ladies and gentlemen that has changed. I LOVE Blake!!! Once again Ms. Snow I’m gonna ask why oh why can’t towns like Heart’s Edge and men like Blake Silverton really exist? Nicole Snow’s books are ones that I will always one click without even reading the blurbs. 5 burning-bright stars for No Damaged Goods by Nicole Snow.
Blake Silverton doesn’t believe that he’s a hero, even if the rest of the town does. Blake and his best friends have saved the town more times than they can count, but Blake just feels like it’s what is supposed to happen. Feeling broken, Blake hurts from the pain of a shrapnel wound he got in the service which makes it hard for him to do his jobs as fire chief, wielder and radio host. Blake is a widow and his sixteen-year-old daughter couldn’t be more embarrassed and humiliated by her popular dad and all the women that throw themselves at him. Peace Rabe is an adventure taker and never stays in one place for too long. Coming to the town of Heart’s Edge for the winter brings more than just new message clients it brings her face to face with a man who has a voice that just won’t quit and a body that makes her want to drool. Too bad Blake is grumpy and snarly and, but Peace still can’t stop thinking about him. Peace is not one to give up and no matter how often Blake Silver-tongue…Silverton pushes her away; she won’t stop trying to get through to the man who thinks he’s nothing but damaged goods.
No Damaged Goods is everything I’ve come to love about Nicole’s writing. I loved everything about this book. This is Peace “Ms. Broccoli” Rabe & Blake “Mr. Silver Tongue” Silverton story. The plot is a thrilling contemporary romance. It’s filled with intrigue, danger, suspense, drama, lots of emotions, awesome characters, passion and a steamy slow romance. I loved all the amazing characters in the Heart’s Edge series. Thank you to Nicole Snow for the ARC, this is my honest review. I truly, HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves a thrilling romance!
Peace Rabe ends up in Hearts Edge Montana with no idea what this town and its people have been through. When her Scooby Doo type van spontaneously bursts into flames, she meets Volunteer Fire Chief Blake and his crew who come to the rescue. Blake has a sixteen-year-old daughter Andrea who blames him for the death of her mother and gives him as much grief as she can. Blake doesn’t need the complication of the sparks he feels for Peace, but he can’t seem to resist her and despite Peace not wanting to get involved with the growly man she can’t resist him either. And so, the embers slowly ignite. You won’t be able to read their story fast enough; I know I couldn’t. I happily read this ARC and am reviewing it.
4.5 Mysterious Stars!
The perfect slow burn with all the heat I have come to expect from Nicole Snow. Of course she doesn’t leave out the suspense in this installment of her Heart’s Edge series. No Damaged Goods was so hard to put down and so easy to get lost in. Blake is so serious and Peace is so laid back, I loved the way they just seems to fit together. I enjoyed the interaction with all my favorite guys and their ladies, the way these characters are interwoven through the series makes it more entertaining. I will say that I was not impressed with the whole rebellious attitude that was Andrea, but then I was reminded that teens are not the easiest to deal with – so it felt REAL.
Definitely recommended….
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
Fearless firefighter. Mesmerizing voice. Damaged single dad. Stick a freaking fork in me. There’s a reason he’s call Mr. Silver Tongue. Blake Silverton could sweet talk and angel into sin. Fierce small-town fire chief. Rough velvet voice. Drop dead gorgeous. Don’t even get me started on the tortured single dad thing. Wintering in Heart’s Edge isn’t a choice when my van goes kaboom. Neither is gawking at the human bulldozer who keeps charging to my rescue. If only we could stop butting heads. But I’m a healer. What’s wrong with offering a grumpasaurus a massage. I’m hardly obsessed. I’m not turning into his radio love line every single night. that charred lump of coal he calls a hart isn’t that fascinating. I can handle one itsy bitsy insta-wildfire kiss. Those fires some arsonist punk keeps setting around town though. Fire. I know I don’t belong in Blake’s desperado world. Only, he won’t let me go until I’m safe. Some men wear Bad Idea on their sleeve. But sometimes the heart falls hard for damaged goods. Hold me.
Your going to need box of Kleenex, and a edge of your seat to get through this one. It is so amazing. I love that Nicole Snow can bring out such emotions in me and keep me on the edge of my seat at the same time. You are going to fall so in love with Peace and Blake. She is a nomad and since her father died she hasn’t really found a place that she wanted to call home. However here is something about Heart’s Ridge that calls to her and it helps that Blake, who she has been listening to on the radio is the town fire chief and irritable. Blake is the fire chief, single dad and is recovering from a an injury and when he meets Peace the chemistry is immediate and enough to set the town of Hearts Ridge on fire. I loved this story. It has a thriller of a story line, a lot of angst and is absolutely amazing. Do not miss it or you will regret it.
Loved this book! Blake, a slightly older single, good-looking, wounded ex-soldier, with a teen-age daughter, meets beautiful Peace, a massage therapist, somewhat of a flower child with purple-tinted red hair. What a great story! Lots of intense emotions and sexy thoughts going on with these two. Blake spends his time fighting fires and fighting his attraction to Peace. Peace spends her time wishing for more with Blake. Plus, there is an arsonist in the town, which adds extra suspense to the story. I was entertained from page 1 and couldn’t wait to see how it would end. Read it today!
Healing, heart, heat and finding Home
No Damaged Goods (Heart’s Edge Book 4) by Nicole Snow is another exceptionally well written romance that is a very compelling and enthralling read. With plenty of suspense and constant building of anticipation, this book is a true page turner.
The plot and characters are simply beyond amazing. Blake, the brooding, grumpy papa bear meets his perfect match in Peace. She’s an amazing and unique woman who brings light and healing to Blake in all aspects of his life. There’s a great deal of denial which adds to the building anticipation of their chemistry that is destined to erupt and combust. And these two certainly spark as hot and brightly as any and all fires ever started, just in a much more pleasant and positive way!
The plot of this book, yet more drama, danger and destruction for this small town, is captivating. Through it all, I was on the edge of my seat and the anticipation at time stole my breath. The best part, you know that the Heros of Heart’s Edge are absolutely going to come through. And a few more heros are added to the list as well.
Overall, a very well written book with all my favorite elements; heart, heart, healing the hero and a HEA. And, there’s a hint of promise for another hero of Heart’s Edge to get his story told too. Fingers crossed!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
