Hi, Mom. Give us a call, okay?Even in the bitterest divorce cases, angry ex-spouses usually agree on one thing–the welfare of their children. Mary Jean Pearle, a Dallas antiques dealer, never dreamed that her precious daughters, Faith and Liberty, would be anything but safe when she dropped them off with their father. John Battaglia, a successful accountant and ex-Marine, had at times been … been vicious to her–but always gentle with the girls.
Listening helplessly through the phone, Mary Jean heard Faith plead for her life. . .and then the heart-rending sound of gunshots.
Updating her classic account of this unthinkable crime with the latest stunning developments from Death Row, veteran crime writer Irene Pence recounts an unforgettable saga of violence, betrayal, and tears.

Great book. Very detailed in describing what happened. Inspirational to know that the women that were victimized were able to lead productive lives after the abuse. Very sad
For the young girls.
“No Daddy, Don’t” reads like a novel, however it is a tragic true story. It was well-written. I really enjoyed reading it.
I like true crime books, and appreciate trying to understand the criminal mind. This book was well written although it is hard to grasp the extent of the father’s crime. How could he destroy his daughters to hurt his ex? Very difficult to understand. Still I do recommend the book.
Great book to read. I was hooked from the beginning! A quick read!
A good, interesting book.
Sad,unbelievable, well written, do not usually like crime. Would recommend.
I wish I could have reminded myself while reading, “It’s just a fiction novel.” But that was not the case. Like a bad accident, I just couldn’t turn away. The book is heart-wrenching, page turner, and exceedingly insightful into the mind of a narcissistic psychopath. Leaves one questioning, “how can you know whose is telling the truth when you …
What a read! It twisted around and turned corners and left me thinking, “wow” and shaking my head with tears…… that’s all I’ll say, I don’t want to give anything a way…… read this, especially in this day and sadly this age…..
A true story and very sad. It does highlight the need for better laws to protect those who are abused.
This is the BEST most horrible story I’ve ever read!!!
Very heart rending.
Too be it was a true story
I thought it was addictive and hard to put down. It was unbelievable what he could get away with. All in all it held your attention.
Amazing that people can be this crazy. Horrible story but opens people eyes to the world around us!
Hard to read, yet hard to put down!
You can’t keep from crying..so sad!
very sad
This true crime book is very hard to put down. The evil monster was the father of two beautiful innocent little girls whom he murdered while their helpless mother had to listen on the phone. It was so heart breaking. It took too long but he finally paid for his crimes. I recommend this book to grownups only.
A good book although very sad.
Very insightful but also very very sad.
