Lots of dark family secrets…
This is a horrible book! I made it barely through the first chapter when I stopped. This is not something I normally do either, however, the main character comes in as a TEACHER and starts cussing and talking about getting ‘a$$’.
Horrible writing and insulting.
Very interesting concept and a great topic to focus on (that really isn’t focused on at all usually). I liked it because it made me think.
The story was captivating and thought-provoking, to say the least. I learned a great deal about sociopaths from this bizarre, yet convincing take on many misunderstood psychological disorders that plague mankind today.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Hard to put down. Characters were realistic and interesting.
When I first started reading this book, I felt there seemed to be no direction, that it was a bit mundane, a boring family and their lives. About two thirds in things skewed left, and it became a page-turner. When the book ended, the ending haunted me the rest of the day. I wanted to know more about the mother’s next chapter in her life and do her dirty little secrets ever get brought to light.
I cannot recommend this book. I only started the book and was a few pages in when I realized that this was going to be too graphic for me. I usually read all the negative reviews before I purchase and I did not see anything that told me it was explicit. I am very visual and I prefer not to have graphic images planted in my brain.
took a bit to get interested wound up being a good read
Enjoyed!
We all know people like Mary — they damage each person they touch.
Will the real sociopath please stand up?
This book is seriously a page turner. I couldn’t put it down.
Like the authors’ delivery of the story
Interesting story, the end was a bit disappointing.
Interesting look at most psychopaths in society. Most are not the sensational serial killers but our “friends, neighbors, and even family. “
Although it starts to become obvious which character is the sociopath – the author builds and unwinds the story well so I was compelled to stick with it. It is tragically realistic and a topic not touched in this genre very often. Kudos to the author.
A view of the sociopath next door and their insidious manipulation.
Great book.
psychological drama
Its unfortunate but there seem to be a lot of people like this we have to deal with on an ongoing basis
