This book has it all for Me! I could not put it down. I was on the edge of my chair. I had to know what happened with Leo and Clarissa. It has twists and turns, danger, lies, secrets and love and lots of sexy! The story kept my attention and pulled at my heart strings. I loved the secondary characters as well. I hope there are more books coming about them. This book is a definite must read! I would give it more stars if I could.
Nicole Snow has a way of writing suspenseful romantic stories that will have reader’s attention from beginning to end. No Broken Beast is no exception. This was a sensationally suspenseful and twisted new read in the Heart’s Edge series. Leo is a scared fugitive from Heart’s Edge who was involved with a tragic fire and multiple deaths and voluntarily leaving the only girl he ever loved plagues his conscience. Clarissa is a young single mom who returns to Heart’s Edge to find the man she loved and lost and to put old demons to rest. In the midst of rebuilding their lives and reconnecting after years apart, Leo, Clarissa, and their friends must put a stop to a deadly terrorist attack. No Broken Beast is a captivating must read filled with danger, government secrets, a secret child, human experimentations, friendship, passion, twists, healing, and love. This a fantastic series with wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. I loved reading this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I have loved this entire series but this is by far the best so far
Leo(Nine) is a scarred ex warrior who always swore to protect the woman he loved but Clarissa ran away after the nightmare that was her life in Hearts Ridge imploded her father was the devil and Nine blames himself for what happened. He has become a recluse and a legend to the town Now Clarissa sister has gone missing from Hearts Ridge and she has returned to try to find her The only problem is that Hearts Ridge has secrets Leo knows a lot of them but no one knows them all.
I have been waiting for Nine’s story for a while now and am so glad to have the opportunity to finally read it. Let me say Ms. Snow does not disappoints No Broken Beast kept me on the edge of my seat. The story had lots of drama and suspense. The book was well written and flowed beautifully. It also showed how love can conquer all. Clarissa and Leo have a history, but she left town, and she’s been gone about eight years…When her sister goes missing, Clarissa comes home to Heart’s Edge, to help find her, and she brings a surprise, especially for Leo, with her. The story is rich in plot and emotions. The characters are substantial and sharp, real and broken, kind and bold. All the characters I have come to love and respect are in this story and I could not be happier to have little glimpses of them again. The scenes are so colorfully described it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them
I loved the ending! This book answers all the questions I’ve had throughout the Heart’s Edge series and gives us lots of history of Heart’s Edge, of Leo and Clarissa’s past relationship, of Leo’s childhood, of Galentron, his time as a Nighthawk…and the fire….It’s a good book…
This is an interesting, intense, suspenseful story about Clarissa and her journey to find her sister while reuniting with Leo (Nine) at the same time. This story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next for Nine and Clarissa. This is a well written story with well developed characters and a great ending.
Plot-driven, Richly Developed, And Smartly Written: Action, Suspense, And Mystery Infuse This Emotional, Steamy Romance. Get The Tissues Ready!
Clarissa Bell, candy store entrepreneur and about twenty-eight, reluctantly returns from Spokane, Washington to her childhood hometown of Heart’s Edge, Montana. She never wanted to return to the place that held so many horrible memories. The scar on her cheek is a constant reminder of her past and that pivotal night eight years ago. But the sight of her son, seven year old Zach, reminds her that there are some good memories, too. All that matters now, however, is finding her younger sister Deanna, who had recently returned to Heart’s Edge and has apparently been kidnapped.
Leo Regis, a local legend referred to as Nine, is a giant, hulk-like beast of a man that lives mostly in his own self-imposed solitary confinement, surviving in the wilderness and mostly keeping to himself. The scars mostly hidden behind tattoos remind him of his guilt – of his association with Galentron. Blamed for the death of the town’s mayor and a hotel fire eight years ago, he is a fugitive from the law. He chooses to neglect his friend “Doc” Gray Caldwell’s offer to help clear his name, preferring to bide his time waiting … for an elusive something.
Leo and Rissa’s story is about two souls that struggle for freedom and find love in the process. Survivor’s guilt, confusion, and a misguided sense of duty have held Leo captive years beyond having broken free from Galentron. Yet Leo still finds his greatest strength in his memories of Clarissa, when he was eight and again at twenty-two. Rissa’s protective instinct has prevented her from facing her past since she ran, but destiny has a mind of its own. She struggles to come to terms with the past when finally forced to return to Heart’s Edge.
Although Leo and Clarissa’s journey is tragic, some of the most moving passages from the story center around Zach. Leo’s discovery of Zach’s paternity and the instinct he has despite his own cruel upbringing evoke raw emotion. As wonderful as it is to see Leo finally feel loved again, his love for Zach will have you grabbing the tissues. Leo and Rissa (and Zach) truly deserve their HFN ending. Their is a free flash forward story available for download at the end, and presumably future Heart’s Edge stories will provide a peak at the family in the future.
Haley and Warren Ford of No Perfect Hero (Heroes of Heart’s Edge Book 1) appear is this story as well as Doc Gray Caldwell and Ember of No Good Doctor (Heroes of Heart’s Edge Book 2). Might Blake Silverton and Fuschia Delaney have a future book?
The legend of Nine had been steeped in mystery, but Leo and Clarissa’s story tells the heartbreaking and tragic story of the man behind the rumors, scars, and ink. Leo and Rissa have much in common, and it is his fixation on her that saves him and helps him to maintain his hold on humanity despite the beast he was made to be. Action, suspense, and mystery infuse this emotional, steamy romance. The book is well-written. The POV alternates between Clarissa and Leo. The plot-driven story is richly developed and smartly written. The characters are well-defined. Clarissa and Leo are easy to love, and Leo will sit with you long after you finish the book. I rate this book five stars.

Here is another character of Heart’s Edge – NINE or Leo or Tiger, however you want to name him, he is the beast of the town. This story is focused on Leo, Clarissa, and Zach. Leo is one that burned down the hotel years back and killed the mayor. The mayor was Clarissa’s father and he was in some shady business knowing that hundreds were going to die, he didn’t care just as long as he got paid. Leo worked security during his time and that is where he met Clarissa. Leo killed the mayor when he intervened while the mayor was trying to kill Clarissa, so it was justified, but Leo never knew that Clarissa was pregnant when he sent her away. Zach is Clarissa and Leo’s son, but Leo figured it out when she returned to Heart’s Edge. Most of everything that happened occurred eight years ago, but now Clarissa returned to find her sister Deanna who was kidnapped by Galetron because she is snooping around to find out what happened years ago. This town has too many secrets and it all revolves on a disease that Galetron promised the government to find an antidote. Again, too much going on in this small town, but the characters are special. Fuchsia is a character that came into play as she worked for Galetron, but now is trying to do goo, but is she truly trying to help with Deanna’s rescue or trying to help herself out. I won’t spoil the story but there is a lot of action, mystery, heartbreak and love.

Loved reading the exciting and engaging romance story. When Clarissa’s younger sister, Deanna, is kidnapped, Clarissa and her young son, Zach, come back home, but Clarissa doesn’t want anyone in town knowing who her son’s father is, the mysterious monster called Nine, her first and only love, Leo. When Leo discovers Clarissa is back in town, he does everything he can to to protect her, try to find her missing sister, and, hopefully, put an end to the evil still lurking in the town. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, full of action and suspense, and a must read love story of two people still in love with each other.
Heart racing, action packed and dangerous journey filled with secrets, danger, complexly intriguing charters, witty dialog, flawed relationships and undeniable passion…. a emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. Overall an excellent read!
Candymaker Clarissa Bell ran away from her hometown of Heart’s Edge when tragedy struck. When her sister Deanna goes missing after digging into the past, Clarissa returns to Heart’s Edge and runs into the handsome Leo Regis, the boy she once loved, and the father of her son. Leo vows to help Clarissa find Deanna but will it be too late?
No Broken Beast is an intense, suspenseful and steamy story you won’t be able to put down
Wow, I remember reading No Good Doctor, and becoming fascinated by the scarred local legend, Nine. It is so satifying to read his story here. Leo “Tiger” “Nine” Regis is a man forged by fire and circumstances. His love for Heart’s Edge and his one true love, Clarissa Bell, is amazingly pure, molten hot, and unconditional. The lengths he goes through to protect what he loves is beautiful to witness.
I’m so glad we finally get Nine’s story! This story goes between the past and the present so we get the whole story. It has the perfect mixture of mystery, suspense, secrets, lies, danger, drama and explosive chemistry! With many twists and turns that keep you glued to your kindle! Finally the mystery is solved and Hearts Edge is safe.
I loved how Leo(Nine) and Clarissa found their way back together. Together with their son Zach they made a beautiful family. I love this series and look forward to see what Nicole gives us next!
Nail biting suspense! This book has a little bit of everything, romance, suspense, love, hate, it’s all sugar and spice!

Not quite sure where to start with this review. The story was an incredible read with many moving parts. Intense and deep at times. An emotional roller coaster for sure. A modern beast and the beast in some ways. Well written with many twists and a clever plot. Clarissa and Leo/Nine were an item until tragedy separated them. Her missing sister made her break her vow to never come back. Eight years had passed and there was a lot of water under the bridge. Danger, drama, secrets and a child he never knew existed to add to the suspense. A real page-turner that’s hard to put down. A second chance at love for two tormented soulmates.
What an ending.
Nine truly deserved it.
Im sure I, long with many other readers were taken with Nine from the very first mention of him. He had an air of wild unknown, yet a softness that pulled you in. Now that we finally have the entire story, all the questions are answered…mostly. The fact that Clarissa came back onto the scene how and with who by her side, took this series to the next level. My last curiousity is for Fushia and Deanne. What is going to happen to them?
Well, I highly recommend.
Happy reading!
Rating 5 stars
I must have been living under a rock. This was my first Nicole Snow book (so I did not read any other books tied to this town and/or characters). My fascination with the Beauty & the Beast theme had me grabbing this one in a heartbeat. But I didn’t expect the story told in this book.
Leo “Nine” Regis is a legend in Heart’s Edge, the “monster” who lurks in the shadows of the dark forest and watches over the town. Kidnapped as a boy and conditioned into being a super soldier, he almost loses his sense of self and humanity. But one thing keeps him grounded. The memory of a young girl he met by the creek, the same girl he courts and loves when they reconnect years later. Clarissa, the girl who has also loved him since the day they met. But tragedy strikes one night and forces her to run and Leo to live in exile. Eight years later with their son in tow, Clarissa returns to Heart’s Edge in search of her missing sister. But time and history can’t keep these two apart anymore.
This is a love story woven into a massive storyline of events. The super soldiers, their torture and conditioning, the mayor’s involvement. Every character has a backstory and so does the town. It’s easy to get overloaded with so many moving parts, but the author expertly weaves a complex tale with ease. And during it all, she never loses sight of the romance that lives and breaths off of each page between these characters. Leo and Rissa’s love is intense and passionate. It’s not just physical, it’s everything. Every glance, touch, and way the words are spoken between them. Their chemistry is undeniable. And the interactions between Leo and his son (Zach) were beautiful.
The secondary suspense/mystery storyline is relatively fast-paced for the book length, but it’s still a heavy read both rich in content and dark with scarred and painful backstories. In the end, you can’t help but cheer these characters on and wish for their hard-earned happily ever after. Because through the fire, chaos, and violence, they fight ’til the end to finally be together.
/I received an early edition of this book. This did not affect my opinion of the story or content of my review./
This story gives me some reminders of Christine Feehan’s Game series but it has a much darker tail behind it. The main male character Leo/Nine was taken when he was a young child, possibly even kidnapped, drugged, brainwashed, abused, and programed to answer to specific phrases for mind control. While Clarissa, the main female character, had almost been killed by her own father when she was a teenager but saved by Leo then ran fast and hard from her hometown the same night.
The two are brought together by another tragedy, Clarissa’s sister has been kidnapped, the store the sister runs in their hometown has been practically destroyed in the kidnapping and Clarissa knows that the local police are useless. She starts to do her own little investigation but so is Leo from the shadows and he finds out that Clarissa is back in town. Of course both are hiding some secrets from each other that comes out in the end.
This is an amazing HEA.

Beautifully told story of multiple kinds of love. Will this end the Heart’s Edge series?
This story is like Leo aka Nine himself: part sensitivity, part brutality. His physical appearance and strength hide his extreme and pure intelligence. Love the cover for Nine! Leo is Heart’s Edge’s infamous “monster” aka Nine who hides in the woods and is more protective of this town than threatening. He has been forced out of his woodland hideout by a missing woman, Deanna, the sister of his beloved of eight years ago. Single mother Clarissa has come back to Heart’s Edge with her 7yo son to find out where her sister has gone. This opens up the story behind the story of what greed and power can do to people and those who depend upon them, but also how love and friendship can mend people. Will this end the tragic events that Galentron had planned to use to end this sweet little town? Why? If you have read the previous books in this series, you will want the answers from this book.
Funny how Ms. Snow mentions a previously published series: The Grizzlies MC and the book Accidental Rebel where Storkley and Associates can get them fake passports, etc. Clever little plug for those who have read some of her other books.
My only problem was that to be so smart WHY did Clarissa go off several times on her own to investigate when she knew how dangerous this was. Same for Leo. Of course, without these lapses in good sense there would not have been as thrilling a story. Still irritating though…
There are some beautiful moments also: when Leo’s thoughts in chapter XVI, recounts why he loves Clarissa and later when the friends reconnect “Tiger” to Leo. Poignant moments.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes recommended for lovers of the thriller genre with lots of steam 😉 I give it 4.75 Stars!
This page turner will scorch your kindle! Leo and Clarissa is a fabulous journey that will take them through hell and back. Full of suspense, drama but the love they have for each other makes this a fabulous story. As usual Nicole has made us live all of the characters fears and emotions. I honestly volunteered an arc copy.
Leo / Nine and Clarissa have a history and were separated by a tragic event. Now Clarissa is back in town to find her shop vandalised and her sister missing. No spoilers; this is one of those stories which just needs to be read. This is a well written story which has drama, suspense, secrets, mystery, romance and everlasting love. I was intrigued and hooked throughout and highly recommend for all.
