A charming, hilarious, irresistible romp of a novel that brings together nine unrelated women, each touched by the same little black dress that weaves through their lives, bringing a little magic with it.Natalie is a Bloomingdale’s salesgirl mooning over her lawyer ex-boyfriend who’s engaged to someone else after just two months. Felicia has been quietly in love with her boss for seventeen years … for seventeen years and has one night to finally make the feeling mutual. Andie is a private detective who specializes in gathering evidence on cheating husbands—a skill she unfortunately learned from her own life—and lands a case that may restore her faith in true love. For these three women, as well as half a dozen others in sparkling supporting roles—a young model fresh from rural Alabama, a diva Hollywood star making her Broadway debut, an overachieving, unemployed Brown grad who starts faking a fabulous life on social media, to name just a few—everything is about to change, thanks to the dress of the season, the perfect little black number everyone wants to get their hands on . . .

Warm retail employees + a life-changing dress + romance + a Rocky reference. Loved!
Listened to the audio version and loved hearing the different characters come to life. Such great stories.
This is one of the most adorable books I’ve read in awhile. This would be a great movie adaptation ala Love Actually, New Year’s Eve or Valentine’s Day.
A nice book to read in between reads. Light and relaxing. Lots of laugh.
The book was a humorous account of “the little black dress” and how it affected 9 women in different ways – Great (surprising) ending! funny.
A fun book for a fashion lover and avid reader!
An interestingly woven enjoyable, light read.
A lovely book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Great story about how one dress affected so many lives. Easy read and entertaining. Great friendships
Pros: Jane L. Rosen skillfully fit numerous story lines into one book and artfully wove each story to each other. This kept me guessing as to what was going to happen next and how each story line would end.
Cons: I felt that a few characters’ story lines were under-developed, hastily wrapped up, and left you wondering why they were even included in the book.
Overall: This book was just okay for me. My final conclusion is that this book would have read a lot better had a few of the characters been edited out and more time was devoted to the meatier story lines. I would recommend Nine Women, One Dress to anyone who wants a light read.
The fashion industry’s “Dress of the Year” weaves through the stories of nine women – and a few men – of all ages with wonderfully heartwarming effects. I haven’t enjoyed a book as much as this one in a while. As much as I wanted to know the outcomes of the stories, I didn’t want the book to end. A very sweet engaging read.
It was a delightful little story about several women who each borrowed (or bought and/or returned) the same little black dress. The best parts of the story, however, were in the prologue and the final chapter or so. These told the story of the dress’s pattern maker: how he came to America to establish a new life and his philosophy of making patterns to dress women. My favorite character!
I loved this book. It was sweet and a really fun read.
Fun to see how one little dress impacted so many people in different ways. Fun to read.
Really enjoyed it! Entertaining and predictbut a fun read
I actually loved this book, and will look for others from her.
Interesting and compelling lives of nine women of different backgrounds brought together by one little black dress.
Confusing. I kept having to go back and re-read what I had just read. Maybe it was just me so I’ll try it again.
I enjoyed it & the thread of the dress running through it
So entertaining I read it in one afternoon.
