The last thing she should be doing is falling in love.

Wow, these books just keep getting that much more exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I love the connection between Karina and Devyn and think they’re awesome together. The more danger Karina is the more lethal Devyn is with his swords as well as Wrath and Fury. He’d do absolutely anything to protect her not only just because its his duty so she can become Queen of Second Moon but also because he loves her regardless that it’s against the law. Stupid archaic rules of Second Moon, I think Karina will be a completely kicka*se Queen and exactly what the Fae need. I thought it was crazy when Karina got her new power when she obtained her Void Tail, and she plucked the thought out of Devyn’s head, they’re that entwined and accidentally transported them both to Devyn’s room in Ashland which is a totally nifty new trick. I loved meeting Devyn’s family especially wee Holly as she’s such powerful 9 year old. I really want to know why Devyn and his brother Kai don’t get along. All I can say is man Karina can’t get a break with all these new creatures trying to k*ll no matter where she is and she finally cam face to face with her great uncle Ryker and his militia and she had to make a completely heart wrenching decision at the end of the book so I’m really looking forward to reading what happens next. All I can say is Devyn will be on a warpath in the next book, he’s going to be completely living up to his name of Sin Eater as Karina is in more danger than ever so what’s her bonded Shaman Protector whose madly in love with her going to do in order to keep her safe. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
Not again! The author did it again….. the story always seems to start off slow paced and before I know it, I can’t turn the pages fast enough! Then what happens? I’m on the edge of my seat and the book is over!! I love the imagery this author creates, the strong characters and the believable yet unreal world. I always wait with held breathe for the next book, it can’t come fast enough.
This is the fifth tale appearance and how it comes about. We start this book with our heroines on the run from basically everyone she trusted. But dont worry we still have our sexy Devyn.
While it took me two books to get into this series I am so glad I kept up with it. The series just gets better and better. I cannot wait to see what happens next
Karina and Devyn are on the run accompanied by the pixie Belle. Sleeping in random hotels, eating pizza on the road. Running from the faes her uncles sent to kill her. Trying to strengthen her powers, trying to gain her tails, trying to stay alive. And it’s working but the young Kitsune doesn’t have control over her growing powers and the unthinkable happens and Devin and Karina find themselves in a most unexpected situation in a most unexpected place. The stakes just got higher.
The story behind Karina’s fifth tail’s appearance may be my favorite so far. What an adventure. Sylvermysts, Enenria, a devious stepbrother, and an even more devious female fae. Second Moon and the sickness, Kai and Holly, Devyn and Karina getting one step closer to their destiny, and the uncles. The uncles never stop hunting for Karina. The land needs her, it needs them as well, but their own desires and greed keep them from recognizing this and that keeps Karina’s life in danger. It’s never been more clear. It’s also clear how deep the love goes between Devyn and Karina, just what they will do to protect the other. Even if protecting the other, hurts them. That ending…
What an amazing book to the Nine Tails series!
I have always love foxes, and having to read a series about Kitsunes is absolutely fantastic! J.L does a fantastic job with this book and series! If you want a story that has strong characters, fantastic story line that not only draws you in, but also compels you and is intriguing, this is the book and series for you! I love how Karina continues to grow, the depth to the story, so intense at times! I absolutely fell in love with it a definite must read!
I have been waiting quite a while for this book and it didn’t disappoint! Things are progressing in the quest to gain her nine tails, but Karina and Devyn are barely managing to stay one step ahead of those that would hurt them. With an accidental shift into Second Moon, more complications arise and it makes me wonder what will happen next. I love how Karina fights for what is important to her and how Devyn fights for her. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
4 & 1/2 stars rounded up.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
Wow, great continuation of the story. This picks up pretty quickly from the last book. New readers really need to start with book 1, or will be lost on what’s going on. The plot is full of twists & Karina & Devyn have such chemistry! So many things happened that I didn’t see coming. Definitely a cliff-hanger ending though. This is such an original story, not like anything else I’ve read before. Looking forward to book 6.
This series hands down is a must read. It moves at a steady pace with plenty of adventure. This is a uniquely fresh and different shifter story about a female Kitsune. Karina is strong, intriguing and compelling. This series is written with depth and vivid detail. Can’t wait for the next installment.
