Enemies From Birth… I…
How can I make her mine once and for all?
“Nikolai” is a mysterious and sexy stand-alone romance, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers.
The Lark Notes:
A Mafia Romeo and Princess Juliet story, what more could you ask for? – Sophiemore
Crimson by Sophie Lark
This story continues the saga of the Turgenev family. This time the story focuses on Nadia after the death of her mother, Samara. Nadia returns to Moscow, her mother’s roots and childhood home, to translate a journal found after her death. The story plays out much like a story out of Shakespeare – that, of course, being the Montague’s and the Capulet’s. As Nadia wanes of her boyfriend Maxim’s juvenile behavior, she becomes entranced by Nikolai Markov, whose family is devout enemies of the Turgenev’s. Nikolai is ordered to become close to Nadia to help secure a deal for his father, but falls in love with her along the way. Can they both stand up to their families and put the past behind them?
NOTE: There are some sexually explicit scenes in the story.
First time reading Sophie Lark, but definitely not the last time. The genre of the story is what drew me to this book, but it was the content that kept me there. This book has fantastic main characters, Nikolai and Nadia. Nadia’s parents marriage was not what I would call a good model to follow for a healthy relationship, so Nadia did not have a good role model in that sense. Nadia finds her mother’s journal and that leads Nadia to Moscow, which leads her to meeting Nikolai. Zavier, Nikolai’s father, has a long standing grudge for Nadia’s family because of what happened in his youth. Zavier needs to use Nadia and the power her family name brings to get what he wants, but Nikolai might lose everything in the process. I love how this book is written from both Nadia and Nikolai’s point of view. I would definitely like to read more of Sophie Lark’s work.

Nada’s mother just died and she goes to Moscow to learn more about her mother. She learns a lot about her mother from her journal. Good read and romances.
