aThere are worse things than monsters . . .
There are family members.
Shapeshifters only mate their own kind.
Or so Trace has been told. But her grandfather crosses a line when he arranges a match to one of his elite shifters. Not only is the shifter in question a chauvinistic jerk, but she’s disgusted to discover the move is part of an evil breeding program.
Soon, her disgust turns to horror. … question a chauvinistic jerk, but she’s disgusted to discover the move is part of an evil breeding program.
Soon, her disgust turns to horror. Apparently, her grandfather will stop at nothing to get his way. When he threatens her dad and brother, Trace waivers.
But she has a secret, one that stops her from giving in. She’s irresistibly drawn to Cory—a human. Unfortunately, she’s forbidden to tell him about shifters. And bonding with him will initiate a transformation—one he may not survive.
When her grandfather finds out about Cory and sends his shifter thugs after him, Trace is forced to make a decision she may regret for the rest of her life.
Can she save Cory? Can she save herself?

NIGHTSHAKER: A Werewolf Thriller (Nightshifter Series Book 3 of 5) by L.E. Horn is an amazing story that I have had the privilege to read. This is book number three out of five and I can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters, fantasy and thrillers in their stories.

NIGHTSHAKER: A Werewolf Thriller (Nightshifter Series Book 3 of 5) quite successfully continues the saga of the Wulfan. It introduces Tracer, her twin Chase, and her soul mate Cory. Characters that we know from the first two books continue their roles in this one, along with new friends and enemies. The storylines from previous books continue and develop further. A new storyline introduces a strong alpha from Europe who also happens to be Tracer and Chase’s grandfather. He is not a righteous nor a good person. The twins discover an interesting correlation between some of the Wulfan heads’ activities and those of a diabolical historical figure. The story and the series are compelling and engaging. On to book 4!

I am so loving this series! I love the raw emotion, the handling of everything that gets thrown Tracer’s way and her unique coping mechanisms. This book focuses on the undeniable feelings Trace has for Cory, how she will de anything to protect him. The realisation of how her grandfather wants to use her, has Trace fighting his every attempt and has her literally fleeing for her life. The comraderie between Trace, Chase and Cole, once they accept their fate, is magnificent! So well paced, so well thought out, so edge of seat thrilling, altogether, a wonderful series! Off to read book 4, which promises to be just as compelling!
This is the third book in the Nightshifter series. I have to admit I was a little confused at the beginning as it wasn’t a follow up to book two as you might expect but, as the author said in her introduction, “… Sometimes in order to move forward, we must first go back . . .”
We started with twins born of a forbidden love interest, one of which forms a forbidden love interest with a human. Her father and grandfather were initially unaware and were arranging a match with a wulf of good bloodlines that she hated. Trace had powers her grandfather wanted to strengthen.
Love, violence, deep friendships, evil, and a good storyline that segues well into book four. Don’t miss it!

This book has a very different feel from the first two, and except for name, there’s not much to indicate it is part of the series. It does carry the story line further, but it feels like there should have been a book between books 2 and 3.
Tracer and Chaser, or Trace and Chase, are twins whose mother died while giving birth to them. Their dad tuned out after that so they were basically raised by their paternal grandmother until her supposed accidental car accident when the twins were 15. When Cory transferred in during their senior year of high school, Trace felt drawn to him though she stayed away since Cory was human and she was Wolfen. This story contains implied steamy romance, Hitler-style evil, and plenty of action to keep readers entertained. Highly recommended.

This story grabs you and keeps you throughout the story line. These young people have been done wrong by the supposed adults in their life and others who are supposed to look out for them. Luckily they find help with those who will treat them as they should be treated. I liked the story because it gives you more background into what is going on from the first two books in this series. The mystery and machinations of the evil doers goes deep and everyone will have to bound together to make it work. I can’t wait until the next book so I can find out what happens next.

I loved it. Even though this is the third book as of now it doesn’t really tie in but I can see how it’s going to. This is a great story about soul bonds, jealousy, pride, attraction, murder and so many other things. I have loved all the books so far and I can’t wait to read the next one. These are just awesome books. It’s paranormal romance full of action and mystery. I never get bored reading them.

This was a great edition to the series and I love the MC Trace. Trace is easy to relate too in this tense forbidden love story as she tries to forge her own future separate from what her family would have her do. I am not necessarily a fan of insta-luv but the development between Cory and Trace feels solid and heartfelt despite the instant attraction so I feel like it worked in this aspect.
This story is full of family tension as Trace tries to keep her Soulmate safe while dealing with the very complicated family dynamics with her father and grandfather trying to sway Trace to do what they want.
Her Grandfather Gunther comes to town he is a strong alpha from Europe. He is also a diabolical monster to say the least… Gunther also has a rare power that allows him to control other werewolves and has an agenda to create a mutant werewolf strain.
I am impressed with the author’s writing. This is an original and unique look at the shifter dynamics and I thought it was very interesting. The world building is vivid and realistic pulling the reader right into the story you can very easily imagine and visualize the surroundings and world. The characters are well-developed and presented with strong relationships among the characters. I loved the the mutant virus angle and that was not what I expected which is always awesome. I recommend this series its a great read.
I received this book from BookSirens for an honest review!
Book 3’s storyline deviates from the group of “wulvs” of the first 2. We are introduced to a younger set which involves another set of difficulties…coming of age. Teenagers, UGH!! And the nasty underbelly of those trying to exert dominance over all “wulvdom” is exposed. Sometimes the only way out is to run and hide.
These books keep blowing my mind with the twists and turns, highs and lows, love and hate. And, it’s no wonder they howl…what a dysfunctional social order.

Who is cory/ where do we find him at the beginning of the story? What is he doing? Who are Bruno and Tracer? Who is Cindy? How does she know Tracer? Who is Chase? What do we learn about him? Who is Warren Mayer? Why does he show up at Tracer’s home? What happens? How does Tracer seem to feel about it? Who is Gunthar? What is his deal with Warren and why? What plans does Gunthar have going in the works? What happens with Cory? What new skill do we find Tracer with? What happens to Chase? Dang!!! When I realized just how messed up Gunther’s thinking is/was…. well…. read and see what happens!

This is Book 3 of 5 of L.E. Horn’s Nightshifter Series. However, it starts before the first two books in the story timeline. She starts with some new characters but skillfully weaves in some of the characters we already know and love along the way. Some of the background gets explained as to the series’ biggest Nemesis, The League of the Red Wolf, although I’m sure there is much more we still need to know!
One particularly clever part is when Tracer is listening to an audio book and it just happens to be Freeforce by L.E. Horn! I laughed out loud!!

Tracer, or Trace is a female wulfen. She and her twin brother, Chase, live with their father. One of the other wulfen names Warren Mayer wants Tracer for his own, but he’s a jerk she would never choose. The man she wanted was human, Cory. She felt different about him and was pretty sure he was her soulmate, which is very rare among wulfen. But if so, at a full moon, she would transmit the virus that made her wulfen to him, and often a human would not survive. Her parents had the soulbond, but her mother was dead and it was too painful for her father to talk about. And now, Chase had told her that their father was planning on having her take Warren as a mate – and that would never be tolerated! But they were not supposed to tell humans about the wulfen. And for a human to become one, they must be informed, so it was a risk.
Once infected with the virus, a human was called a wulfleng, and they often didn’t make it past their first full moon. Humans infected as adults had to learn how to channel their emotions, and control their animal side and could die or transform into an uncontrollable vicious beast. If the human mind couldn’t deal with their inner beast, the enforcers stepped in to put them down. But Trace’s strong reaction to Cory might be evidence that he was her soulmate. So for now, she just went out every night and watched him run in the woods after he got finished work. Suddenly she scented a bear ahead and raced through the woods to scare it away from Cory’s path. But the bear had two cubs and she was more dangerous than ever. She had only seconds and ran to head Cory off instead. He stopped on the path, seeing her with his headlamp, and her body reacted to her soulmate! Both of them felt the connection! With the bear still near and her brother running to them, she leaped toward Cory to scare him off and he turned to run.
Her Grandfather Gunther comes to town and has a rare power that makes all others bow to him. Her father has already accepted she will have to mate Warren unless she had convinced her grandfather that Warren was not worthy. The only possible escape is if she becomes soulbonded which will make her worthless in the breeding program she is wanted for. But Cory is human. He may not survive. And when her grandfather learns of him, he will send his enforcers to kill him. Can they escape? With the moon coming in a few days, is Cory safe with her? Can she protect him from her wulf?
This series gets better all the time! Again, I am so very impressed with the author’s writing. As we saw from the start in Book 1, this is an original and unique look at the shifter story, not what you may be expecting. The vivid and realistic descriptions of the scenes will put the reader right there, chills and all! The characters continue to be well-presented to the reader to bring out a strong response to them. I really love this series, both for the relationships among the characters and for the fascinating story line about the mutant virus. Don’t miss this wonderful series. It’s extraordinarily good and well worth your time!
L. E. Horn was not wrong; sometimes you need to go back to go forward. This book helped to fill in the background in order to make the series richer.

Tracer, or Trace is a female wulfen with a twin Chase. They live with their father around other wulfen’s. One in particular, Warren, wants her badly. Her grandfather comes to town, with a rare power to make all others bow to him. Her father has accepted she will be forced to mate Warren through her grandfather’s choice. She and Chase fight this order and end up saving the one who is meant to be soul bonded with her, but he is human. They are after him to kill him and Trace apparently inherited her grandfather’s ability. They are on the run with help from others…what will happen? Will they survive? Will they become soul bonded? This is the third book in this series. Having read the first two books, I knew that this book would be EXCELLENT reading material. I read a lot of shifter novels, but this one is by far one of the best books, shifter or otherwise that I have read in years. It is not filled with graphic sex scenes in order to fill it out. It has a rich and unusual story line. The characters are very well written and believable. L. E. Horn has become one of my favorite writers due to this series of books. This is not the usual shifter novel. It has a love story, but it has a lot more going on. You could read this book as a stand alone. Having read the first two books, I had a lot of story already filled in my mind. This book just brought more to the story. I loved the book! I can not say enough good things about this book. IT WAS AN EXCELLENT STORY and I LOVED IT! If I could give this book 10 stars I would, that is how highly I recommend the whole series!
