WOW!!!! I don’t even know where to start with this review. I am left absolutely speechless after reading Nightshade.
This was another amazing read by Molly McAdams. I will be honest…..this book was a little harder for me to read than Blackbird and Firefly. Nightshade I felt was much more darker, grittier and more raw than the first two books. There were times I had to stop reading to catch my breath before I could continue on with this story. But this series is definitely a different side of Molly’s writing and I think this is her at her best.
But what would a reader expect when you have two very dark and tortured souls that come together. Can Kieran and Jessica find their way out of the dark??
Nightshade is the third and final book in Molly McAdams Redemption Series. Although each of these books are standalone novels and don’t have to be read in order. My recommendation is you at least read Firefly before reading Nightshade. You meet Kieran and get some of his background in Firefly. Also a lot of the storyline in this book is connected to things that happen in Firefly. I do think that Molly does a good job filling in all the blanks for those who haven’t read Firefly first, but I still think reading Firefly is the best option.
As with the other books in this series I won’t be discussing the storyline at all, because this story needs to unfold by itself for every reader. You need to go in blind to truly feel all the emotions that this story invokes. Nightshade is a complete standalone and is told from Dual POV. I thought this was a perfect ending to an amazing series. She wrapped everything up nicely in this book.
I was kept on the edge of my seat for the entire book. My emotions were all over the place. Like I said earlier….I had to take breaks and step away a couple times just to get back into the right headspace. This book consumed me!!!! This book, as well as the whole series, is so well written and sucks you in from the very beginning. What I am always impressed with in Molly’s books is the amount of research and planning she puts into her stories, so that the reader can feel everything her characters do. You can’t help but get sucked into their lives and experience all their ups and downs right along with them.
I know this review is vague and really doesn’t tell you much but I don’t feel I can do this story or series justice. You truly just need to experience these books for yourself. READ THIS BOOK!!! You won’t be sorry.
This is another one I can add to my Best of 2017 list.
Such a bittersweet ending to this trilogy. Even though this is my least favorite storyline of the 3 it was still good. What tangled webs of lies. I highly recommend this series especially on audio!
When I finished Firefly, I was so torn. I hated what Kieran represented but longed for his chance at peace. It may not be peace as much as a piece…(ignore the tasteless but snarky joke) of everything.
Kieran, affectionately known as Nightshade, but only by those freaking terrified of the assassin and perhaps one young woman. Nightshade was a beast and a devil in Firefly but he has his own demons and doesn’t need you pinning others to him. His complicated history and f*©ked up past should show you just how far gone he…was.
Nightshade has met a complicated person. She is more than he knows what to do with and he still doesn’t want her around. Not that he has a choice. Things were set in motion before Nightshade and before Firefly. Now they come to a head and it’s going to be everything you feared.
FYI, people die. More people should have died slower more painful deaths. I would fully support the author bringing them back to die again- this time slower and with a whole lot more screams. And if we are bringing people back…

OMFG! I have no freaking clue where to even begin with my review. There are what feels like a million different thoughts running through my head and yet I am at a complete loss for words. Its been a little over a week since I devoured this addictively binge-worthy read and all I can seem to focus on is the bittersweet fact that this is the END for the Redemption series. There are so many stories that I can picture in my head and I can only hope that Molly McAdams will one day give us more of our favorite characters!
Although Dare from Firefly has managed to secure the number one place in my heart, Kieran aka Nightshade certainly ranks at a close second. I must regrettably admit that initially I really disliked Kieran because of the way he treated Lily O’Sullivan in book 2 of the series, but by the end of Firefly he started to redeem himself when he stepped reluctantly stepped aside and let her have her HEA with Dare (gosh just the mere mention of his name has my heart swooning). He sacrificed his own happiness so that she could have hers…that action alone opened my eyes up to a completely different man.
I thought after reading the first two books in the Redemption series that I knew what to expect, but come on, you NEVER really know what to expect with Molly McAdams! I adore the fact that she knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seats in anticipation from start to finish.
The moment Nightshade showed up on my kindle I wanted to drop everything and inhale this story, but of course I had what seemed like a million things to do before I could officially being. It’s a good thing that I did the adult thing and completed everything I needed to do before loading up my kindle because I ended up reading 89% in ONE SITTING! You’d think I’d learn by now not to start a book right before I lay down for bed because I always end up staying up WAY too late. It was TOTALLY worth it thought and I would’ve finished the remaining 11% that night if my kindle hadn’t been only moments away from dying…
Kieran and Jessica’s story was filled with adventure and passion. These two had the kind of chemistry I LOVE in books and I couldn’t help but FALL in love with them. Their story had so many unexpected twists and turns that I never knew what to expect. I laughed…I swooned…I cried…I loved! Nightshade was a beautifully poetic and captivating story about two lost souls on their path of redemption…
Although technically this book can be enjoyed as a STANDALONE, I strongly recommend reading all the books in the Redemption series! Trust me…this series will stick close to your heart for years to come!!!
“No monster. No darkness. Just everything that was this chaotic girl. And I was only kissing her. But I wanted her. Needed her. Now.”
Twisted poetic darkness, with a couple that you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley as their enemy, yet I instantly fell in love. Both desperate, addicted to each other, and a perfect match. I became engrossed wondering if they would make it. I poured through the beauty of the words for days, as their inner struggles invaded my every thought.
“She was every man’s fantasy mixed with danger and chaos. And she knew it. Used it. I hated her for it.”
Kieran (Nightshade) and Jessica (Chaos) are searingly sexy, and deliciously dangerous on their own….together? A force of nature. Dark, vulnerable, each with demons fighting to get to the surface, left me intoxicated by their story.
“He looks like a lethal contradiction. So calm. So savagely animalistic. Eyes wild. Yet lifeless. He was terrifying. And he was beautiful.”
Heart pounding twists from every direction kept me riveted and glued me to the pages. Heart wrenching and emotional once the secrets began pouring out, I couldn’t move until the end. With my heart racing, tears in my eyes, and ending with a satisfied smile, it was well worth the ride!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!
“She was destruction and chaos. She was peace. And she was my home. The girl was poison. My personal nightshade. And I savored every bit that filled my veins.”

With the release of Nightshade, book 3 in her Redemption series, Molly McAdams has done yet another amazing job of bringing us into this intriguing world of romantic suspense. Kieran and Jessica’s story is complicated, intriguing, emotional and will grip you from the beginning. Being picky when it comes to reading romantic suspense, I can honestly say that Nightshade ranks up there with my very favorite romantic suspense books. I recommend it as well as Blackbird and Firefly, books 1 & 2 in the series.
New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams brings her dark suspense series to a close with Nightshade, the final installment of the Redemption series.
Kieran is the mob’s assassin, trained from a young age to be a monster. They own him. After seemingly losing everything, Kieran has hardened his heart to all emotion, especially love. Then Jessica swoops in like a tornado and flips his life off its axis. With her, his feelings are like a spreading wildfire and it is bound to consume them both.
We first met Kieran in Firefly and I fell for him immediately. Yeah ok, he was a bit of a jerk, but I love the tough bad boys, the ones that believe they do not need anyone or they are trying to protect themselves or someone else from hurt. When those men fall they fall hard and not without a fight. Kieran was a fighter, and it made for such a wonderful surrender when he finally gave in. He had to lose what he thought he wanted to find what he needed, Jessica. This girl is a force of nature all her own, but somehow manages to fit perfectly with Kieran. They help each other overcome the darkness that has taken them over.
This has been an excellent series to read. Anyone that has not read Molly should pick it up immediately. All the books are standalones, but in my opinion, you should read them in order because characters appear in other books, and because they are great books to read. Sometimes the genre of romantic suspense can get a little predictable. That was not the case with Nightshade or the other books in this series. They were original and truly well written. They gave a softer side to the bad boy mobsters than we as readers as used to, making them more human and more relatable, while maintaining the dark sinister feel of the mobster persona. Five stars yet again!!
