My name is Lia, just your average sixteen year old bear shifter, or so I thought. The night of my first shift, I found out it was all a lie. Not only am I adopted, but I’m not a bear shifter at all.I’m taken away from the only home I’ve ever known and thrust into a life I know nothing about. Now I’ll have to learn to navigate the social structure of this new clan I know nothing about and survive … survive a boarding school for shifters like me.
Thankfully I meet a group of guys the same age as I am who want to help me fit in. Throw in a prophecy this clan swears is true, and there is a recipe for adventure and a whole heap of trouble headed my way.

What a great introduction to a different world and all the characters it includes. Amelia is a genuine 16-year old put in some complicated and secretive situations. Her outbursts are totally normal in my opinion and hello! Her hotties are drool-worthy. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next book!
Lia faces a reality she never expected. But after the initial shock she faces it with a grace and dignity befitting the station she never knew she held. New life, new school, new rules. New everything. Lia handles all these changes thrown at her far more graceful than I could ever dream of handling it. Kudos to a job well done and I love the duel personalities between human and animal side.
Ooh, this was a cute cat shifter tale. I’m very intrigued with where this story will go from here. The guys are fun and adorable. I can imagine their loving nature for Amelia.
This was a fantastic read about Amelia who is ripped from her family. This story is fast paced, and I devoured it in one sitting. This is a YA book, but i believe older readers would enjoy the story & writing as well. I loved the relationships that formed in this story, and I’m interested in where the story will lead next.
Wow! I love this book!! Amelia, on her 16th Birthday gets quite a few surprises. I won’t ruin it and tell you what they are. These surprises cause her to have to move away, go to a new school and meet all new people. Though she misses her Mom, Dad and little brother, she slowly settles in and starts to feel comfortable. A few new, ahem, “friends” take her in immediately and make her feel right at home. During this time she keeps getting hit left and right with one startling revelation after another. How will she ever keep it all straight?! Luckily her new “family” is there to help her. But, there is trouble lurking that no one is aware of. I CANNOT wait for the next installment!! The only bad thing about this book is that it ended too soon. The author did an amazing job of building the characters and their personalities. The book flows so smoothly and sucks you in so well that you don’t even realize you’ve read the entire thing until you’re hit with the Epilogue page. Well played ma’am, well played!
Fantastic YA story. Its hard for me to find a fantasy or paranormal books that I am willing to give my 15 year old son to read. I mean some fade to black scenes are fine, but most of them have way more detail then I’m willing to give him at the moment. This book is different, the storyline is intriguing and kept my interest throughout. I’m going to give it to my son now that I’m done reading it. I’m sure he will love it as much as I did. Lia and her friends are an interesting group and mix of common, noble and royal shifters set to attend Nightfall academy. I like how some of the situations can be helpful for teens reading this story. Situations that I think teens today can relate to like starting a new school, making new friends, mean girls etc. It is relatable on that level. I can’t wait to find out what is going to happen next in Lia and her family’s story!
Lia is excited to meet her bear but her first shift doesn’t go as plan. Her life is turned upside down after her first shift. This is an interesting new shifter world. The characters are well formed and interesting. This book is a great start to a new series.
