It had been a while since I had read paranormal so I got into this one quickly. Tamara did not want any guys but she did have a pet-Nightfall. Nightfall is not your usual pet. He is a shapeshifter and knows she is his mate. Interesting it was seeing how long he would last as the pet. Josh does have to change her mind. You turn the pages to see when the walls would go down.
T.K Lawyer has written the perfect summer read! If you are new to the paranormal romance genre or a Tamara and Josh. Tamara had sworn off dating due because of too many broken hearts and promises. That was until Josh kept resurfacing from her past and he wasn’t a bad memory. There is more to this attraction than simple lust because at nightfall Josh truly turns into an animal. When Josh turns into Nightfall, he still wants Tamara and nothing will change that. Will Tamara still want Josh? What will happen between the two? Set aside an afternoon or an evening and discover what some animal passion can do between two people!
Nightfall by T.K. Lawyer
A different take on the werewolf mythos and mating. Normally you read about an Alpha wolf simply walking into his mates life and taking over, but this is a tale of partnership, exploration and love. There is a fine line between smutty and teasing and this book rides that line perfectly!
Nightfall is probably one of the first books I’ve read in a long time that shows that not all romance novels have to be having one person be strong in a relationship. I was immediately taken with the fact that instead of a lot of angst and issues, Tamara and Josh work through their issues and become a better couple because of it. I love finding something like this on my shelves and I’m really happy that I was able to read this, no, DEVOUR it! I’m so looking forward to future novels by T.K.!
Nightfall by TK Lawyer – Review by Krista Vaughan
This more modern take on a wolf-meets-mate story is really quite entertaining. Tamara finds a “stray dog” and decides to keep him. Vets visits, dog food, collars and sleeping arrangements. These are just the “pet” hurdles they come across. How does a Wolf move from the”pet-zone” into mate territory? Josh has his work cut out for him. Tamara has been hurt before and doesn’t believe in forever. I do love that the story is realistic enough to deal with the possibility of rejection. A hot Wolf shifter, a beautiful mate, and the “stray” that brings them together. A great read!
Nightfall by TK Lawyer was a decent read. I’m not sure if I just wasn’t in the right mood today or what, but this book just didn’t hit me right like I wanted it to. After reading the synopsis I was very interested, and I thought this would be a very interesting and good read. While it was well written and had me captivated throughout, I thought it was very strange. It seemed almost like a beastiality thing at the beginning? I knew it wasn’t, but I couldn’t help thinking that almost the entire time. That put me off big time with this novel. Other than that, this novel was well written and I enjoy the storyline once I got past that bit. It was probably just an off reading day for me and hopefully I’ll enjoy the next novel by Lawyer better!

Nightfall by TK Lawyer
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Lawyer has found a new reader in me and I will be looking for others. Nightfall is such a great read.
Tamara finds, what she thinks is, a stray dog on her porch. Deciding to keep him as a pet and falls for the dog. She starts hearing a voice in her head that doesn’t belong to her. The quote I chose for Tamara is: “Josh, this is Ruben. He’s a very good old friend of mine, we used to work together. Actually, all three of us did. Ruben, Vee, and me. I haven’t seen this man in a year. And it’s been what, six months since you stopped talking to me?”
Josh is Tamara’s dog Nightfall, but he’s not a dog. He’s a wolf shifter. Tamara is his mate and now that he’s found her he won’t let her go. The jealous streak hits him like a freight train. The quote I chose for Josh is: “Today was absolutely miserable for me. I’m deeply in love with you, Tamara. You’re the one for me, the only one. Now that you’ve shared with me the reason you’ve been holding back, I can’t leave you—not until I give you a true chance to be with me. I know we’ll be happy together, because I’ll do anything to bring a smile to your face—anything Tamara.”
Highly recommended for Werewolf Romance lovers.
After deciding to keep the stray dog that visits her home nightly, Tamara begins to discover that Nightfall is not all he seems. For starters, he can speak to her telepathically, and is inordinately concerned with her safety, protecting her from all threats, real and imagined. As time goes on, she starts to feel that he has more than platonic love in mind. While she reels from this new development, she slowly becomes aware that he is not any ordinary dog/wolf… he is a shapeshifter whose male form is quite delectable. Can she overcome her fear of getting hurt for the reward of a powerful mate?
I liked that this book was easy to read and get invested in. Tamara and Josh are interesting well-rounded characters, and the book has some very steamy overtures. I found the emotional drama to be a bit melodramatic for my tastes, but the plot was well done and likely very accessible for romance readers. All in all, a nice escape for an otherwise routine weekday night.
Tamara has had her heart broken by men. When she vows to not love again, fate decides to intervene. When Tamara finds a dog on her step, she starts to think about relationships again. Josh has fallen in love with Tamara but she has sworn off men forever. When he decides to start sending her gifts, things change a little. Would Tamara accept Josh for who he is or will fate play apart in this as well? TK Lawyer is a talented author. The ability to follow along with an imaginative novel is truly amazing. Lawyer weaves paranormal and romance together like they have always belonged together.
Nightfall is the first book that I have read by T.K. Lawyer and I must say it was very enjoyable. I was so lost in the story that time just flew by and I was done with it before I realized I had read it all in one sitting. One thing that I really loved about Nightfall is that the leading lady is plus size but still lands the sexy hunk of a male lead. T.K. Lawyer choosing a plus size leading lady shows us plus size girls that romance is put there for us too. Her character descriptions are detailed and realistic making her readers feel like they are real people and not just characters on a page. I loved this book and Ms. Lawyer’s characters so much that I hope she gives us a trilogy.
I have to say this book was NOT what i expected when I first picked up the beauty to read. It was EVEN better. I’m very much familiar with shape shifter novels, werewolves, or paranormal romance.
From my experiences those type of books always have girl meets paranormal guy falls head over heels in love, in the end happy and not a lot of hardship
For Tamara and Josh not the case, When I was reading about scene where Tamara took Josh in not knowing he actually was a shapeshifter, I told myself boom their gonna be in love and be happy and some out side negativity. Often from my readings its always the girl love at first sight, but with Tamara that I dare say was a stubborn fire cracker. Nope! She was a tough built up cookie.
Instead it was Josh who fell completely head over tail for her. Literally. He was o kind and sweet and Tamara was basically against it all. I was yelling at the book at some scenes for Tamara to give Josh a chance. He was such a sweetie and only wanted to give her the world.
As further I read, I learned Tamara is a very relatable character. She had been truly hurt in her past and it was hard for her to allow herself to feel something again for someone let alone to trust and allow herself to be cared for.
Josh had chosen Tamara. But with the hurt and pain Tamara had felt in the past , Josh truly had to work thru to break those walls down to show he was the real deal. And his affections and intentions were true.
I really related to this romance and this novel. Truly did. This was my first by the amazing author and most certainly not my last, I wanted to jut keep on reading. The story was so beautifully done and Tamara and Josh’s story is truly unlike any other.
I will be recommending this novel to all my friends. Its truly a a work of art of a well captivating story that is impossible to forget.
Thank you to TK Lawyer for an amazing novel 🙂
Insecurities and heartbreak are a part of life. We all go through it at one time or another. Tamara is no different. You can relate to her plight to decide if she can trust and give her heart to Josh. Their relationship does have trials and tribulations and you find yourself hoping upon hope that things will work out for them. Josh being a wolf shifter has found his mate. Can he wait for her to make up her mind or will one of them give up. The love Josh has for Tamara is absolutely one in a million.
Great paranormal romance!! Not my strong suit in genre, but I couldn’t put this down! This is my first book by this author and I was impressed. Josh is a strong male lead, and there isn’t anything disappointing with his character!!
What would you do if the stray dog you took into your home turned out to be a sexy man?
This paranormal romance has a different and unique take on the typical wolf shifter fated mates trope. It is moderately steamy with great character chemistry. A little repetitive on the “will they, won’t they” storyline, but overall would recommend. Tamara sometimes aggravated me with her paranoia and jumping to conclusions, but Josh is the perfect book boyfriend. I find that the plot needs a little more exterior conflict outside of the main characters relationship and more supporting characters, but all together a very solid book. I can’t look at my pets the same way anymore.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review
I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. I loved the fiesta attitude of Josh (Nightfall) and the character of Tamara. This book is a unique twist on a romance between shifter and a human in that the human meets the shifter in their animal state. In the case a wolf.
When a wolf/dog turns up on Tamara’s doorstep she takes it in and give him a home. Naming him Nightfall she loves him and treats him as her trusted pet. However there is more to Nightfall than meets the eye and being a pet is the last thing he wants to be to Tamara.
Nightfall is actually a shifter called Josh. He knows Tamara is his fated mate and he needs to be near her and make her see that. However with Tamara’s past making it difficult for her to trust and accept love how can he prove to her his intentions and love are real. Especially when he starts life with her one a lie as her pet.
Unique paranormal romance unlike any I’ve read before! Tamara has sworn off love and when Josh comes along she feels no different. She has been burned and wants to protect her heart. Josh just wants to love her and show her that she can trust him. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles in order to be together?
Nightfall by TK Lawyer
4-stars
Nightfall is a truly entertaining and one of a kind read, it’s of the paranormal genre but it sort of felt more like a contemporary romance to me. I enjoyed how this author managed to create truly original characters with a unique storyline. I’ve read hundreds of paranormal books but nothing quite like this.
This story flowed seamlessly and had lots of detail, I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and was highly intrigued by them. Though this is my first book by this author I look forward to reading more in the future.

Nightfall by T.K Lawyer is a captivating paranormal (shifter) romance, with just enough angst and drama to keep things interesting. This isn’t my first read by Ms. Lawyer, but it is definitely my favourite, so far.
What happens when Tamara’s discovers there is a lot more to her faithful ‘pet’ than she could ever have imagined. And how exactly did Josh get himself in the position of playing ‘pet’- well, you’ll just have to read all the interesting details for yourself- because what happens here makes for a great read.
Thank you, T.K Lawyer!
This is my first read from this author and I was pulled right in by her writing.
I really liked the characters and their story.
Tamara has a not so great past with relationships, so much so that she has a pretty big wall built up around her heart. When Josh first saw Tamara, he knew that she was his mate. He takes certain steps to try and be around her until he can get her to open up.
Will Josh be successful and finally get his mate?
Overall I enjoyed the book. My emotions were all over the place. Had some level of frustration with Tamara. We get steaminess, romance, and so much more. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
Nightfall by TK Lawyer was an emotional paranormal read. I fell into it hook, line, and sinker. It dealt with a lot of emotions and internal struggles for both Tamara and Josh. I enjoyed the plot and pacing. It truly had all the things I love in a shifter book without being overwhelming.
Nightfall by TK Lawyer is a well written shifter romance. I enjoyed the fact that with this book we got a slight twist in the usual shifter stories. I think this is the first one I have read where the wolf basically poses as a pet in order to achieve his end goal. I thought I was an interesting way to go about it.
I really enjoyed Josh’s character. I thought he was the exact type of character who makes you want to keep reading. I didn’t connect with Tamara quite as easily but I enjoyed the way they worked together. Overall this I am enjoyable book and one I would recommend to fans of the genre.
