This is one of my favorite novels. It was as if I was on that plane, in 1939.
It’s been years since I read “Night Over Water” but I really enjoyed it. Follet’s books can be so different and still so good. He’s one of my longtime favorite authors.
Not necessarily up to Archers normal standard
One of Follett’s earlier books that I really enjoyed reading.
Gripping and great – just like all the other Follett books I have read!
Wealthy passengers fleeing World War II…
A massive, floating, dual-decked airplane with a dining area and sleeper beds.
An English Nazi, a Jewish scientist, a charming thief, and several hijackers bent on kidnap.
Feel Howard Hughes glaring over your shoulder as you rub elbows with high society and take cocktails with low criminals aboard this long-forgotten luxury airliner.
Spy games, gangsters, romance and adventure await you aboard the Pan Am Clipper as it skims its way across the Atlantic on its 24-hour tour.
Will this historic flight reach its destination, or does a darker fate await?
Must be over 18.

A good piece of history.
Great plot, lots of interesting characters. Bring them all together in a most probably scenario.
This was a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone interested in historical fiction.
I love stories so stepped in real history brought to life through fictional characters. This book develops so many characters and back stories, I couldn’t wait for them all to get on the plane. A must read.
Night over Water is a genuine page turner, quickly drawing the reader into its series of adventures. The characters are interesting and with the fast paced plot, keep the reader rivetted. The ending is too cute and positive to be true to life but this doesn’t detract much from this entertaining and easy to read story.
Save your money and your time. There was almost nothing positive about this book, only some suspense. I stuck it out to the end, just in case, but NEVER found anything strongly positive about this book. Basically it was a soap opera populated by cardboard characters, most of whom did not develop in any discernible way over the course of the novel.
Classic period fiction about an eclectic group of characters taking flight from England at the brink of war with Nazi Germany. Ken Follett never disappoints
I enjoyed learning about an intercontinental airplane that I never knew existed. The charters were interesting and well developed. Overall this is a good read
The Orient Express over the Atlantic. Fun to reminisce what the world was like back then. Follett always does a great write!
Loved this story and so many great characters – not that you will like them all!
I like most of Ken Follett’s books and this was no exception. I especially liked all the information on this type of plane, the luxury, the technology of the time etc. even though they didn’t make many voyages.
Good storytelling.
Ken Follett never disappoints. Once I begin reading one of his books I cannot put it down.
