When I receive a call from a mysterious woman seeking my help to escape her abusive husband, I can’t refuse, even though I’m supposed to meet my future in-laws in twenty-four hours. Like my hero, Humphrey Bogart, I am a sucker for a damsel in distress, but the woman disappears before I can whisk her to safety, and I feel compelled to find her. As I dig deeper into her identity, I discover her … identity, I discover her husband, a high-profile attorney, has secrets that could destroy his political aspirations.
I’m urgently piecing together clues that may lead not only to my missing client, but to perilous situations I never expected.
It’s a harrowing race against time to find the kidnappers … I just hope I’m not too late.

good series!
Night of the Hunted is the eleventh book in the Reed Ferguson mystery series by Renee Pawlish. Reed Ferguson receives a phone call from a woman who only gives her name as ‘Honey.’ She’s calling Reed to help her escape from her abusive husband. Reed immediately responds and drives to where he is supposed to pick her up. Unfortunately, she never shows and Reed begins to investigate who she is and where she might be. As he begins his investigation he discovers her real name is Holly and her husband is a high profile attorney with secrets of his own. Another enjoyable Renee Pawlish book.
I never get tired of reading this series. I really enjoy the story line and characters….
Like this series
A little silly in spots, but an overall good and interesting book.
Just fair. Too much emphasis on the protagonist’s love of film noir. The characters are a little flat.
Page turner
This was a very good book and one you don’t want to end until it does. Definitely recommend.
Enjoyed this book!!

The story contained too much unneeded information, such as celebrities and movies that Reed likes. There are a few humorous moments.
I enjoy both the Reed Ferguson and the Dewey Webb series of books by Renee Pawlish.
Love this series. Characters are believable and amusing and I love how Denver takes on a life of its own.
One thing I enjoy about this series is that there is a credible story that is easy to read, interesting and doesn’t rely on gimmicks. Just good enjoyable reading
Great mystery to read !
Didn’t like lt. boring
Excellent read , my type of book
Night of the Hunted – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Who is the hunter and who the hunted of the title? PI Reed Ferguson is a Humphrey Bogart obsessed gumshoe, who’s probably too kind-hearted for his career choice, as he feels sorry for the main character-cum-domestic abuse victim, Holly ‘Honey’ when she comes to him and begs for his help to leave her husband, a top-notch lawyer, who’s partner in a prestigious law firm and has ambitions to enter politics.
Is the damsel in distress telling the truth the whole e truth and nothing but? Seemingly not, as she’s no innocent little miss, but an adulterous, betrayer of her nearest and not-so-dearest with a close family member and capable of deceit and manipulation of the truth, when it suits her.
Night of the Hunted by Renee Pawlish, is a tale of lies, secrets, betrayals, double-crosses, those who are not what they seem, manipulation, danger, fraud and much more. It’s also Book 11 of the guaranteed Covid-19 virus-free The Reed Ferguson Mystery), series that gets things off to a rip-roaring start, in this tense-at-times gritty, noir detective story, that’s fitting for fans of Dick Tracey, Perry Mason and of course Bogey himself.
A great start to the Reed Ferguson Mystery Series, that will make you forget your Covid-19 and Lockdown Blues completely.
Get Night of the Hunted by Renee Pawlish today and fasten your seat belts, for the bumpiest ride to the truth you’re likely to have read so far this year!
The title is taken from one of Reed’s favorite film noire.
As always, this is a simple detective story.
