I recommend this series for all young adult and adult readers tor it could very well happen if our society keeps breaking down as it’s been the past year! You have the battle between people who are in power and want to remain in power safe behind glass domes while those who built the domes are left out to die due to elements of a dying planet destroyed by man. Those on the outside have turned to drugs which have made them vampires and werewolves preying on those who are still human. While changing into vampires or werewolves is good in a novel that part probably wouldn’t happen in our society today unless there are scientific studies and experiments that we ordinary folk don’t know about!
Thus one looks at it as a struggle to survive between the haves and the have nots which we can all relate to. Megan paints a very realistic future where society has completely disintegrated and now those living in the glass domes have deemed everyone not in the domes expendable and even some in the domes expendable and have cast them out and burned the city and what few survivors there are left are given water with a beacon in the container so they can track where those people go and exterminate them if they so choose!
Our heroes have decided to find out just why people are being cast out of their homes in the domes so they are on their way to do just that as the book ends leaving us to find out what they discover in the next book in the series!
The tension is palpable and I felt my heart go out to those burned out of their homes by the fire bombs the domers have dropped which has burned the city to the ground.
Megan’s books are just sooo good!! The descriptive writing let’s you feel what your friends feel for these are not just characters in a book- they have become your friends and as such you find yourself on the edge of your seat reading the pages faster and faster to see what is going to happen next! I find myself reading into the wee hours of the morning each night because I just don’t want to put the book down!
I have felt that with every book I’ve read of Megan’s over three other series! I can’t wait for the next book so I can get back to adventures I feel I’m on with them! I rail against the injustices they face and cheer their triumphs! One wonders if the domes fail completely if people who lived in the domes and the outsiders can coexist together or if the distrust and hatred they feel for each other will leave them separate for the rest of their lives just as they have lived separately up to that point in time!
I urge you to get this series or any of the series Megan has written and see if you don’t agree with me that the time spent reading her wonderful books is indeed time well spent!!
Wow. The city is really in trouble. Werewolves are taking it over. Can Nola and Jeremy find the new Nightland? Fire. Firewall bombs. Danger. Guards. More danger. Fabulous once again.
Nola’s world is in flames, turned
upside-down; everything she knows
and values has been ripped away.
Can she survive the destruction ?

We continue to follow Nola and her group of friends. It’s crazy to see how Nola unites different characters. I was a bit taken aback in this particular book. I felt like Nola’s character regressed some, but I hope in the next installment we see some character growth. There is definitely some action and it was a fast pace read for me.
The audiobook is fantastic. The narrator does a wonderful job portraying all of the characters and the voices are distinguishable as well.
