What happens when the cute mountain man you made out with in an ice fishing shack turns out to be your brother’s best friend? A whole lot of awkward, that’s what. Maggie’s mind is reeling when she discovers the guy she became tangled up with at Marv’s Bait & Tackle isn’t a stranger like she thought. The big snag: Sam and Maggie’s chemistry is hot enough to melt ice, which makes keeping their … keeping their secret far more difficult than either expected. Especially when one of them decides they want this arrangement to be more than just a catch and release.

I’ve wanted to read Next in Line as soon as I knew it was Sam’s story! I’ve enjoyed him in Wait for me so it was obvious I needed to know more.
However I has such a hard time connecting with Maggie! I found her to be so immature, too innocent but you know what? It’s also why I ended the book loving her because of her character’s growth, because Maggie might not be the usual self-assured you found in books these days but she has a sparkling personality you get attached to. She is funny even ( and especially) when she doesn’t know it. She is a young woman still trying to figure out who she really is. She thinks her future is all set but a ginger man will put some doubts in all her fairytale thoughts.
Sam is the nearly new owner of his uncle’s tire shop. You’d think all he needs is a woman to share his life but it’s not how Sam sees his future. So when some 22 years old woman comes crashing his favorite past-time, he never expect it to shake up his entire life.
Amy Daws is my unicorn author! It’s official after reading this book, she can write anything she wants and put a smile on my face. For readers of the previous book in the series, you’ll be happy to see more of Kate and Miles. There take a big part in here because Miles is Maggie’s brother!
Yep you can add forbidden romance to the mix of this cute love story.
Next in Line is as funny as the first book in the series was. The banter between Sam and Maggie is crazy good and they are many scenes directly out from a fairytale! I strongly recommend it if you need some dreams to come true.
Next in Line is the second title in the Wait With Me series, and takes us back to the world of Tire Depot, this time featuring Sam and Maggie.
Whilst Maggie is young, and had a tendency to frustrate the hell out of me, I adored Sam. He’s sexy, fun, honest and incredibly loveable. A bit of a commitment-phobe Sam does not do relationships, except when it comes to his family, who he will do anything for. He’s hard working, determined and dedicated to make his dreams come true. Maggie is young, sassy and fun. What she lacks in maturity she makes up for in determination, bravery and enthusiasm.
The adventures this pair go on are full of fun and flirtatious moments that will keep you completely enthralled.
If you are on the look out for a fun and humorous read I highly recommend Next In Line, and look forward to seeing which pair will be featured next.
Sam has been on my mind ever since first meeting him in Wait With Me and oh my goodness his story was EVERYTHING…and so much more! While I absolutely loved Miles and Kate, nothing could compare to how I felt about Sam and Maggie (Miles’s little sister…oh my). Their story instantly captivated my every thought and I found myself completely in love with their sweet and stolen moments. This bearded ginger and his best friend’s little sister made the perfect match!
Next In Line begins at Marv’s Bait & Tackle Shop and has readers yelling hook, line, and sinker within seconds of diving in. Sam could tell that the lovely Maggie was a fish out of water the moment she step into that Bait Shop and their chemistry was certainly hot enough to melt the ice right beneath them…of course as the layers began to melt, so did the secrets they were trying to keep under water. Neither one of them saw it coming, but suddenly they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Not that they’d want to…
Amy Daws surprised her readers with another unexpected storyline full of laughs and swoon worthy moments that always leave us craving more! This story was an absolutely incredible book hangover worthy read and Sam has completely stolen every ounce of my heart and left me breathless scene after scene. I cannot freaking wait to read the next book in this interconnect standalone series and discover the interesting setting that will surely surprise us all!
Not sure if there is any way to say just how much I loved this book, without using some kind of fishing pun. But I fell for Sam hook, line, and sinker. The author used the bits from her own tire shop writing experiences to reel me in and get me laughing. It started out with the main character Maggie, being a total fish out of water as she tried to find her more adventurous side, to prove her ex-boyfriend wrong for calling her basic. After helping her with the fishing, Sam kind of decided that he was going to teach her to fish instead of just giving her a fish, that way she would be adventurous however she wanted. Part of the helping came from knowing that if she went off by herself she would probably get hurt, or you could say he just felt like he wanted to keep her safe, and also away from other guys who were trying to take her up on her new experiences.
I totally loved getting our couple from the last book, Miles and Kate, to be such a big part of this one. When Kate came back, her romance author sense of humor and topics of conversation were the best! She tried to help Maggie see that there were definitely other fish in the sea besides her ex. Then there was the steamy scene halfway through the book, where, holy mackerel, was that sexy! Not just sexy, but sooooooo realistic! But soon the romance developing between Sam and Maggie was a sweet one, you could tell they both wanted more, but each was sure the other was not right, or else that they weren’t relationship kind of people, in Sam’s case anyway.
Maggie gets into a bit of a fine kettle of fish when her ex just shows up. Now her brother Miles didn’t know about the breakup, so when Sam showed up at the dinner where it had been just Maggie, Miles, Kate, and Maggie’s ex, Maggie got a little green around the gills wondering how to deal with that. Maggie’s ex seemed to feel like he was a big fish in a small pond when he visited her in Colorado, even going so far as to say he didn’t want to play professional football there. That was a big hit to poor Miles, who of course was a Broncos fan. He also thought getting Maggie back would be as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. Soon both Maggie and Sam were thinking that the other might be the one that got away for them. Which led to some almost jumping the shark types of ploys to get the other one back. I won’t say what, you need to read and see how it all works out.
Yes, Maggie definitely spent too much time carping about how much she wanted her ex back, and that was totally annoying. However, all the other characters didn’t let her get away with it, they kept telling her there were bigger fish to fry than getting that guy back. So that made up for her behavior.
Once again Daws made me stay up later than I should have so that I could finish and find out just how it all would end and everyone could get their HEA. I love how she brings her other characters back in, I so want a friend like Kate. I kinda wonder if being friends with the author would be a similar type of experience. Now I’m eager to find out if book 3 will be Lynsey and the lovely Dr. Dick that we met in this one.
P.S. – How did my fishing idioms/puns review format work for you?
SERIOUSLY!!! Read this book. My heart is so happy. I want more. I want to go back and reread this.
I am such a sucker for a ginger guy with a lopsided grin.
I had actually forgotten that this is a brother’s best friend romance as I was reading it and let me tell you… If you like that trope, this is one of my new favorites.
Where in the world can I find a Sam? I want one. He and Maggie are just perfection.
I love that this book was, in part, about ice fishing and starts off in a bait shop. This story is just so refreshing and different. Ahh. Just loved EVERYTHING about this. So.Much.
Next in Line is Sam. I was giddy to get his story. He was a fantastic secondary character in Wait With Me. Now he’s the lead and he’s still just as fantastic… he’s a bit direct and fun. I really like that about him. He seems pure and open but in a totally naughty and gorgeous way… does that make sense? You know, he was perfect! Maggie was humorous to watch. I mean she is a total hotness. I went back and forth between loving and disliking her. I liked her… don’t get me wrong but she had these quirks that I didn’t like. That doesn’t sound much better, does it? She just acted so young and immature. She was kind of a flake and I just really don’t like liars. So basically I thought Sam was a bit too good for her! Lol
I’m sure everyone is saying Wait With Me was my favorite and it was so funny and light. It is and it was. It was also slightly based on a true story so I think that adds something to it that Next in Line was missing. With all that said, Amy Daws still brings the heat and this light-hearted fun that only she can bring to a bait shop! Above I talked about Maggie’s characters traits and while I struggled with her a bit. I also really appreciated seeing her growth through the book. This itself really shows Amy Daws’ talent in telling stories. She just expands and develops her characters so thoroughly.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Who’d have ever thought to find their soulmate while waiting in a queue? Not many people, I shouldn’t imagine. And in a bait and tackle shop no less!!
But, that’s exactly what commitment-shy Sam and rebounding Maggie do. It’s not love at first sight, but it sure as heck is all out alpha defense mode. For Sam at least.
We met ginger-haired Sam in Wait With Me and I couldn’t be happier to have his story be next in line. Get it??? LOL
Sam’s fun, sporty, sexy and likes to play the field. Until he meets a young woman in Marv’s Bait shop. He ends up knocking a guy out for her, taking her ice fishing and from there it’s one adventure after another.
The fun almost comes to an end when they find out that Maggie’s brother is Sam’s best friend and employee. Not the perfect scenario.
But, these two are made of sterner stuff and even though they got together initially to help Maggie prove to her ex-boyfriend, Sterling that she wasn’t just a ‘basic’ girl. It quickly becomes so much more.
The chemistry between Sam and Maggie is intense, their sexy banter and cute chats have all the hallmarks of a Hollywood movie. Sam takes his time reaching the truth but when he bares his soul, it leaves Maggie wondering what to do.
Is the fairytale with her ex what she really wants, or does she want the man who sees her for all she is.
Sam’s declaration was swoon-worthy and I did feel for Maggie. She was conflicted because she’d put Sterling up on a pedestal and he was totally not worthy of it.
I loved this story from start to finish. It was quick, fun and quirky read with a little bit of angst, some seriously hot sexy times and a fantastic story overall. I highly recommend it for your weekend entertainment.
Oh my gosh, I just want to gush about this book! Completely loved this from start to finish. Started off laughing from the get go!! Maggie is fierce and quite a spit fire, trying new adventures she knows nothing about. And Sam is a “bearded ginger knight in shining armor type” who steps in to help her out, then keeps on helping her along the way. Their story is so much fun, and so sexy, not to mention some curves thrown in (I’m not going to tell you what, you’re going to have to read it to find out!). I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’m not going to say anything else. Just know this is a must read, and I just can’t stop gushing over it!!!

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.
After Amy released Wait with Me, I was hoping to see the other characters in the book get their own stories, and I was excited when it was announced this would become a series.
We’ve met Sam before, as he works with Miles at Tire Depot, and we have had a brief introduction to Maggie as well, as Miles speaks to her in the first book. I love a good best friends brother/sister book and so when I realised this was Miles little sister and his best friend, I was hell keen to get my hands on this.
At times Maggie annoyed the hell out of me. The main reason for this was because she was too busy worrying about her douchebag of an ex, when she has all the gloriousness of Sam right in front of her. She is a younger character though, so it does fit well that way. I did love the way she was with Sam though, and how she was willing to step out of her comfort zone and try new things, even if it was for the wrong reasons.
Sam is just the best. I loveddddddd Sam so much. Can I have him please Amy? I need my own ginger bearded man like him. Hot diggity damn! I loved how he cares so much about his family and friends, and he’s always there for everyone else. Whilst I understand why he had his issues holding back with commitment, its so blind that Sam is the kind of man who would be a wonderful partner, and I was waiting for him to wake up to that.
All the adventures that he and Maggie go on together are so fun and there are some sexy, swoony, funny moments which keep the story alive. I don’t like how they lied/didn’t tell Miles what was going on, especially once Kate worked things out. We all know how the lying went down in book 1. I actually expected more conflict from Miles in the end but it was glossed over a little easier than I was expecting.
All in all though, this was a fun and easy to read book with the fab characters we have learnt to love in Boulder. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series. Lynsey and Dean getting their own books I hope!
PS. I have taken to my friends nickname for this book – Bait with Me. hhehehe.
I’m convinced that Amy Daws’ mind is totally warped. In an entirely good way. I mean, come on, she finds a story in a tire shop waiting room and then turns that into a second book about a bait shop. Both books are slammed full of laughs, feels and off the chart sexiness!
Sexy, sexy Sam. Swoon worthy Sam. Good to his Momma, his sisters, his nephews and an adorable niece. Hard working, take charge about-to-be Business Owner. He would and does help those in need. Like a stubborn girl at the bait shop.
Maggie, now there’s a piece of work. I guess some of her ways are due to her youth and naivety. I think a lot of it had to do with her confusing perception on “love at first sight”. I do have to give her accolades for getting out of her comfort zone and trying new things, but then I’d have to take them away because of the reason she’s doing it.
Together, Sam and Maggie make for a wonderful story. With a lot of laughs, some really sexy times and some insight into what makes these characters who they are, this book sets the bar really high for bait shop romances (that’s a thing now, right?).
Amy Daws does not disappoint! Next In Line was fun, flirty with a side of forbidden…
“For years, I started fights, seeking out thrills and taking up dangerous hobbies. I was an adventurist, but I never truly took any chances.”I take a deep breath. “I took a chance on you because that spark you have is something I want back.” …There’s a lot I don’t know about myself anymore because this spark plug of a woman barreled into my life and electrified everything I thought I knew.
I have gotten to the point where I consume Amy Daws books at lightening speed because I love them so damn much. They all have heartwarming characters, side splitting humor, and serious sizzle. Next In Line is the perfect follow up to Wait With Me—cause let’s face it, following up with a romance the begins at a tire shop required an equally obscure and fun setting, thus the commencement of this bait shop romance. And while I am by no means a nature enthusiast like Sam and Maggie, I can appreciate the bond that they formed over their journey to make Maggie less ‘basic’.
…his lips tasted like freedom and his unyielding grip around my body felt like delicious confinement that I never wanted to end.
…she’s inserted herself into a part of my soul that not many people have. The fact that I’m hanging out with her after we’ve had sex is already very telling. But it’s not just the sex that draws me back to Maggie. It’s her open optimism. I think it’s starting to rub off on me. Maybe her romantic ideals aren’t as naïve as I once thought. Maybe my future could look different if I wanted it to.
Next In Line is simply outstanding – and a perfect illustration of the style of romance intrinsic to Amy Daws. It’s well written and extremely entertaining. Next In Line is a heartwarming story about finding love when, and where, you least expect it. I find that when I pick up a book written by Amy, I better be prepared to dig in because putting them down just isn’t an option—that’s exactly what happened when I started Next In Line. I love that it’s written in dual POV. I was attached to Sam already from Wait With Me where he was a secondary character, but now that I know him better, I have a serious crush on him. And Maggie was truly a fun and zany heroine. I didn’t agree with her motivations and all of her antics, but I appreciated her quest to prove herself! Also, the fire generated whenever the two are together was smoking hot! I can’t wait for my next Amy Daws book, it doesn’t matter what (or where ) she desides to write the next book, I will be first in line to read it! If you haven’t read Amy’s work before, you can read Next In Line as a standalone. I’m sure you will be as hooked as I am by the end of the book…
“This is your last chance to get out, sparky,” he states again, his voice deep with obvious lust. Is he crazy? His hands feel like freedom, and his dick feels like a mountain I can’t wait to climb. I don’t want anything to stop. I want it to go faster!

I love Sam so much!!!
After reading Wait with Me, I couldn’t wait to see what was up next in this series by Amy. I fell in love with the concept and this world. It never get old that this series is set in Boulder, CO which is only about 20 minutes away from where I live. It definitely makes it a little more special to me.
We briefly met Sam and Maggie in the first book and I’m so happy they got to have their own story. I love a good best friend’s sibling story and this one was so much fun.
Sam is everything! I loved this bearded ginger so much! He cares about everyone around him before he cares about himself. His family and friends are everything to him. He has every reason to be wary of relationships but I love the fact that he started to realize early on that things could be good. He finally figures out that he could be a good man and a good partner with the right girl.
Maggie drove me a little crazy. She was a bit naive and was really hung up on being the person her ex-boyfriend wanted her to be. Towards the end of the book, especially around and because of Sam, she finally started to realize her own worth and the fact that what she wanted in life could change and she would still be able to get the happily ever after she wanted.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series! I love these characters and am not ready to say goodbye.
Note: This book can be read, and enjoyed, as a stand-alone but I highly recommend you go back and read Wait with Me. In the first book, you meet Kate and Miles (Maggie’s brother) and see how they find their happily ever after first hand.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

“You seem busy living for a fictional future. Maybe it’s time to stop turning the pages for a bit”
Can I just say that I love how Ms. Daws can spin and lure (see what I did there….lure….)
Every woman wants a HEA and a stormy to tell, Maggie is no different. Sam on the other hand, he has his own demons that he is dealing with. Maggie’s determination to try new adventures and Sam’s equal determination to make sure she doesn’t get hurt is funny, crazy and the perfect way to, I don’t know, maybe like each other????
I love the new “location” Ms. Daws is writing in!!! Her words can just hit you with all the feels!!!
“You don’t walk away from the rareness of love at first sight”
See!!!! ALL.THE.FEELS!!!!!!

Everyone that reads this will be hooked from the beginning. Hook line and sinker….sorry….I couldn’t resist.
Sam and his gruff loner ways and Maggie and her romantic side will win you over. But…..falling for his best friends little sister? Ummmm……Sam is having a hard time with this.
Amy has an amazing way of writing characters we all can identify with. Characters we would want to be friends with. Characters we are invested in and are cheering for while reading. Don’t even get me started with the banter!!!
Prepare yourselves….after reading this book you will want to find yourself a mountain man to melt the ice with. I know I do!!!

I found Amy Daws when she released Wait With Me and I loved both the book and her. So when I heard she was releasing a second book in the series, I was so excited! Next In Line is Sam and Maggie’s story. We first met Sam in Wait With Me and though it is in the same series, both can be read as standalones, however, Wait With Me is a must read for sure and one I highly recommend!
Maggie is Miles sister (from Wait With Me) and is in town visiting. She is trying to get over a bad breakup when she meets Sam. They have an instant attraction and both believe it to be a quick fling. When they realize their connection, Sam is Miles friend and co-worker at the shop they both work at, can they continue to ignore the chemistry they share?
Maggie was torn apart from her breakup that it kept interfering with what was right in front of her. But we all know how breakups affect us and Maggie’s self-confidence took a huge it. Now she is trying to show herself she is not boring by trying new things, with Sam. Sam was sweet and caring. He cares deeply for his family and friends, but is determined to stay away from commitments in relationships.
I absolutely loved Next In Line by Amy Daws. I loved all the fun and sexy moments Sam and Maggie shared together. I was not always so sure why they were hiding their relationship, temporary or not, but it added to the story. This book was so much fun to read with an engaging story and characters I loved.

Happy reading!
“You’re like the great catch of the day that you know could never be topped even if you fished for the rest of your life.”
Maggie Hudson has decided to spend some time in Boulder where she hopes to reinvent herself and find her adventurous side. First up? Ice fishing, where she meets bearded, mountain man, Sam O’Connor. He comes to her rescue in the bait shop and offers to be her guide. Things heat up quickly inside their little fishing hut and it’s not just because of the propane heater. Sam doesn’t do relationships but there’s something special about Maggie that’s making him rethink his stance on love, except things get complicated when he discovers that Maggie is actually his best friend’s little sister. The more time he spends with her the more he’s thinking she’s worth risking his friendship for, but does Maggie feel the same or will her plan to uncover her adventurous side lead her in a different direction?
I thought this was a fun story. If you read Wait With Me then you’d remember Miles’s best friend and co-worker, Sam. It was fun to revisit the Tire Depot world and see Miles and Kate again and I really enjoyed getting to know Sam better. He was a great guy and the rugged mountain man thing he had going on was very hot. He was very sweet with Maggie and I liked their banter. I was back and forth on my feelings for Maggie. I really liked the fact that she wanted to become more adventurous and step out of her comfort zone, but I did NOT like the reason why she was doing it. She really showed her young age with that mentality and it was very frustrating that she was so hung up on that for so long. I was glad that Kate and even Sam gave it to her straight to try to get her to see how foolish she was being. I did warm up to her by the end and I liked her and Sam together ultimately, but for a while there I thought maybe he’d be better off with someone more mature. Overall though, this was a fun read and I was glad to get Sam’s story!
Sam & Maggie are so good together.
A chance meeting in a bait store, impromptu ice fishing lesson, a sexy snowsuit? and a growly mountain man ….sign me up !!!!
Sam is a one and done kind of guy , he gets the feeling that he is not relationship material. He is on the verge of taking over the business that he runs with his uncle …….Tire Depot !!!! Yes the very same one that Miles works at and Kate writes her books in the lobby of! Maggie blows into town to regroup. She had a unexpected break for her football boyfriend . She thinks that he is the one and he fits the perfect husband mold. To wants to break out of her comfort zone and become more adventurous . Seeing a ice fishing hut and the idea is clear. Redefine herself to make her look more interesting . She has no idea that this will lead her on more that a self discovery . She might not only learn to love herself but everything and everyone around her will be crystal clear !!!!!!
Loved it !!

Love Amy Daws and was excited for the next book in the Wait with me series. Next in Line is a funny, sexy rom/com. If you like ice fishing, ginger haired heros and a whole lot of awkwardness then you will enjoy this read.
Lately all I’ve been reading has been more serious, dark and emotional books… So when I started to read Next In Line it was like a breath of much needed fresh air. The “Wait with Me” Series is quickly becoming one of my new favorites & Amy Daws did not disappoint with this one.
Maggie is hiding out after being derailed from her “life plan”…she’s searching for some adventure (for the absolute wrong reasons) and stumbles upon Sam… oh stubborn set in his ways delicious ginger Sam…they didn’t see each other coming nor did they expect the connection that follows. These two were so hilarious, quirky, sweet, sometimes naively annoying (Maggie) & full of chemistry. Throw in some over the top fishing jokes, Miles & Kate (from Wait w/ Me) & this absolutely extraordinary book world that Amy Daws has created and you’ve got yourself a laugh out loud…. make you smile read. I would definitely recommend this book and this series to any and everyone.

Wow! Amy Daws sure knows how to take a girl on wild roller coaster ride of feels! I’ve been anxiously waiting for this book since learning just how romantic a Tire Depot can be. This time it was a bait shop, but I still laughed, I swooned, and had a blast reading Next In Line.
Sam and Maggie were a freaking delight as a couple. I really liked their chemistry and banter. Sam was all of the things. From loving his family and friends to being one fine slice of man, he totally had my engines reved up and completely hooked on him. (See what i did there?) Maggie was a bit harder to love on her own. Even though I loved her sassy ways, she came off as a bit flaky at times. Especially when it came to making her mind up between her ex and Sam. (Girl, it’s not that hard. Just look at the scrumptious mountain man in front of you!) Still, their chemistry could melt glaciers, their unexpected relationship was so fun to see unfold, and did I mention how much I love Sam? *drools*
This story was a-freaking-dorable! Amy Daws always knows how to give us romcoms with the perfect amount of feels sprinkled in. Nothing can compare to the sheer magic that was Wait With Me, but this book comes really close. Next In Line was fun, flirty, funny, and there’s a freaking hot, bearded hero. I’ll take two, please! 4.5 Stars.
Wow this is an amazing story! When these two meet the chemistry is explosive, and Sam is unaware that Maggie is his buddy Miles’ sister, therefore, she is on the forbidden list. These two are hilarious together with their witty banter, and I loved how Sam did not allow Maggie’s crazy antics to faze him in the least. This is a beautifully written story, with twists, humor, and is an all round thoroughly entertaining story, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. I cannot wait to read more from this exceptionally talented author, whose work I cannot recommend highly enough for all readers. Brilliant work Amy!!
