But following a brush of bad luck, she finds herself on the brink of losing it all. With an ultimatum from her boss on the table, she knows her next wedding has to be perfect.

This is a great first-in-series book. I love watching Say Yes To The Dress, and add a wedding planner, the supernatural, and cozy mystery – it all equals a book I couldn’t put down!
Newly Wed and Slightly Dead is entertaining, fun-to-read. As the first book in a new companion series to the two Beechwood Harbor series, this expands readers’ views into the Seattle (magical) Haven, following a bright, overworked wedding planner. Anastasia has her hands full planning the wedding of a vampire lord and his human bride. Things only become more complicated when the bride’s mother-in-law is murdered just before the wedding. This is a fresh, witty story with wonderful characters. Read it!
Looks like a typical murder mystery where the mother of the groom is disposed of at the rehearsal dinner. Very little supernatural.
What a great book with great characters and an entertaining story. I enjoyed it.
This author is so much fun in this series that I’ve read everything I can get my hands on by her.
Enjoyable. Writer has some talent and develops the characters (mostly). Its a quick, easy read. Held my interest and made me want to read the books 2. Each book is standalone without a cliff hanger but builds on the characters.
light hearted and funny at times
Couldn’t finish it, just wasn’t a fit for me.
I haven’t read a paranormal cozy in a while. I found this book very enjoyable. I will definitely be waiting for the next one.
Easy entertaining read.
It’s different for me. I like that.
Fast moving, likeable characters.
Fun read.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Cute book, decent characters but not memorable
I love it
A wedding planner, who happens to be a witch…. Danielle, have you been peering into my dreams, and viewing my ideal profession?
Very good beginning to a new series, and I am interested to see how the characters continue to develop. I thought the best interactions were between Anastasia and her office nemesis, Kait. And I see a lot of potential with Anastasia’s sister, so hopefully in future books, their relationship grows, maybe even into a fun sister sidekick.
The murder mystery itself was pretty easy to figure out, but being a first book in the series, and one on the shorter side as well, that was inevitable. I hope Garrett isn’t rushing so fast to keep getting books out that this continues in future books. Besides the character development, I really do want a good mystery that is hard to figure out.
Garrett gave me just enough that I will be checking out the next book in the series, Couture and Curses.
Anastasia was introduced when Holly went venturing into the Seattle haven. She had a short story and now (finally!) she’s come out at full speed and rocking book 1 of I hope many books!
Anastasia is working her high heels into the ground. She has a wicked witch of the Haven as a boss, an associate back stabbing her at every turn, trying to steal Ana’s job.
Hey, on the positive side, she has a HUGE high end wedding in a few days. Anastasia will have a big commission and Hyacinth (wicked witch boss) will calm down.
Oh… but at the rehearsal dinner, things happen and there is a storm brewing. No spoilers. Buy Newly Wed and Slightly Dead today!
Fun with wild sister Harmony as well and a new interest in a hunky agent of the SPA, Caleb. What’s not to love?
I totally love this new series from Danielle Garrett and agree that Anastasia deserved her own series (she is a character from the author’s Beechwood Harbor series)! Fun and fresh cover art entices you to open the book – and once inside you find a great cast of characters from Anastasia’s sister, to her potential love interest, to her office nemesis, to the odious mother-of-the-groom – I liked them all! The wedding details enhanced the story without overwhelming it. The author has a great imagination which made this a fun and entertaining read! Eagerly looking forward to book #2!
