I really enjoyed this book. The main characters Molly and Daniel are two people with totally different views on life, love and family. But fortunately for them her dog Valentine and a dog he borrows from his twin sisters Ruffles a/k/a Brutus brings these two together. Daniel borrows Brutus as an means in which to meet Molly along with her dog Valentine. The two dogs develop and friendship just as do Daniel and Molly. Daniel and Molly both tell each other and themselves that they don’t want an emotional and loving relationship. He reasoning is issues from his childhood while hers stem from her abandonment from her mother and past relationships. However, as they spend more time with each other without realizing it they fall in love. But past and present issues get in the way and they get angry with on another and take a few moments to analyze this relationship. Daniel soon realizes he is in love with Molly and tells her so, but Molly can’t accept this due to her past relationship. Molly seek refuge from a neighbor and realizes that she herself has falling in love with Daniel. Molly tries to reach Daniel but has a hard time finding him, so she and Valentine go to the park where they first met. It’s here she finally finds Daniel. He begins to thank her for coming but she doesn’t understand. He tells her that Brutus has gone missing. She begins to tell him that she loves him. He is so over come with emotion that he kisses her deeply. Soon they separate from their passionate kiss to find Valentine along with Brutus running towards them. Daniel becomes emotional and tells Molly he’s going to keep Brutus and that they will become a family.
Sarah Morgan’s, romance is a funny page turning romance.
I really enjoyed this book. The dialogue was clever and the characters were just quirky enough to be believable. I’ll definitely read this author again.
I love Sarah Morgan’s books she’s a great writer keeps the story moving. Before I knew it the story ended and I can’t wait to read her next book.
Love this series…fun characters.
A very funny story.. About two people who were not interested in relationships. Although Molly wrote advice column on relationship. Daniel, a divorce lawyer not for love or relationships but made an issue of meeting Molly in the park walking a dog borrowed from his sisters Walking Dogs business. Molly had a dog too. Both have
an interest in getting to know each other and but don’t want to really get involved. Beyond what they want and what happens is two different things.
Good. I’m now reading all of Sarah Morgan’s books. Well-written, love stories that are true to the characters, incidental details/subplots (like the interaction with the dogs and the relationships between the heroine, hero, and his sisters): all fun stuff.
Short review. 2.5 *Some spoilers ahead* This book left me with mixed feelings.
I liked some of the characters but when it came to Molly I just couldn’t warm up to her. I felt like what Daniel and his sisters went through was more understandable about why they are hesitant to get involved and have trust/commitment issues. But when it comes to Molly’s reason for not dating I didn’t feel the same, the reveal was lackluster.
*Spoiler* Molly basically allows herself to be guilty by her exes because she didn’t love them, she made to feel like she’s terrible for not loving them, in my opinion none of those guys deserve her love. *Spoiler end*
Molly has the means to fix herself or at least seek help and chooses not to, that right there annoys me throughout the book, she’s choosing to remain broken and does a whoa is me at every turn.
*Spoiler* Molly’s friends who know about her past and her real identity never bother to correct her on her assumptions or point out that her last boyfriend was faking his heartbreak for public sympathy from the audience and the media. It took Daniel looking up at the video of the publicly breakup to point this out to her, I rolled my eyes when I read that. *Spoiler ends*
This series just keeps rolling along and when you think it can’t get better it does! Molly has moved to New York from London because her reputation is in taters. Daniel is a divorce lawyer and a love-em and leave-em kind of guy. Neither think they are relationship material. Surprise! Never say never because that is when it happens. Molly runs with her dalmatian, Valentine, and she is the love of her life. Daniel sees her and wants to meet her and so borrows a dog from his sister to get closer to Molly. Such good dialogue, chemistry, and even when they don’t want it so much love and tenderness.
This can be read as a standalone and I recommend this one!
