A lot can happen in twenty-four hours …Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Emmett’s story …Single dad of Seattle, Dr. Emmett Strong doesn’t believe in soulmates. Not since his ex-wife … soulmates. Not since his ex-wife blindsided him with divorce papers, breaking not just his heart, but his daughter’s, as well. Eighteen months later, it’s just the two of them and he intends to keep it that way. He won’t hurt Josie again by bringing another woman into her life. However, fate has other plans and on New Year’s Eve, sparks instantly fly when he bumps into the intriguing and beautiful Zara.
Single mom and flower shop owner, Zara Olsen, has no time–or patience–for wishy-washy men who can’t commit, so she’s definitely not going to fall for the unavailable doctor. But when Emmett keeps getting thrown into her path, and the two wind up at the same New Year’s Eve party, she wonders if fate is trying to tell her he’s not so unavailable after all. He’s funny and kind, the chemistry between them is sizzling and it’s almost midnight. It must be time for a kiss. But when she finally gives in to their attraction, she begins to regret it when Emmett starts acting strange.
Can Emmett set aside the past and reach for the bright future he could have with Zara, or will this New Year’s with the Single Dad end up being one Zara will remember, but would rather forget?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

I was wondering about the woman who was tough enough to deal with Emmett lol. Zara is absolutely perfect! They meet while getting breakfast and then again several more times that same day. Their connection/chemistry is phenomenal and their kids become fast friends. A wonderful story with humor, steam, drama, adorable kids that steal the show. Another fantastic story for this amazing series.
It’ll Be “New Year’s with the Single Dad,” But If He’s SMART, He’ll Keep HER Much Longer!
She’s keeps bumping into Him… And IT feels almost like FATE,
‘Cept neither of them really DATE!
But they’re invited to the same party for New Year’s Eve,
Which makes Her wonder if She can take the Chance…
To spend “New Year’s with the Single Dad!”
It feels Sooo RIGHT to just let GO,
But the aftermath is a huge Stinging Blow…
Maybe “New Year’s with the Single Dad” was a BIG Mistake,
Especially as He’s treating Her like She gave Him an STD!
Can He salvage what shoulda been the perfect NIGHT,
or is “New Year’s with the Single Dad” destined to GO down in Flames,
Ruining SomeThing GOOD before IT can Begin!

I love Emmett and Zara’s story. Zara is a strong, sassy, likeable character and Emmett is guarded and charming. I rooted for these two the whole book. I love the conversations that include the children. They are funny and remind me of my own family. I love this series and I can’t wait for Mason’s story. would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I received this ARC in return for an honest review.
Wonderful book with hilarious lol moments! Love at first sight is one cliche but when fate steps in and it happens four times in one day – it’s destiny! Thoroughly enjoyed this book!
I love this series! As with the other books in this series this one will totally melt your heart! I love Zara and Emmette they are such great characters and the chemistry between them is scorching. Jojo and Nolan are just the cutest!
Totally loved it!

The whole story takes place at New Year (obviously!) and this makes the story flow nicely.
Doctor Emmett wasn’t looking for love, in fact he was definitely trying to avoid it. Florist Zara needed his help when she cut her hand, then Emmett happened to stop at her shop for flowers. They met again during a New Year’s Eve party with their children – and they certainly hit it off!
Always moving along, and up to the exceptional storytelling we’ve come to love from Ms Cox, this is a worthwhile addition to the Single dad series and I definitely recommend a read.
Five stars, and can’t wait for the next one!
5 star review New Year’s With The Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #6) by Whitley Cox
Every time I read a new book in the series I fall more and more for all the dads in The Single Dads of Seattle series. New Years With The Single Dad is Dr. Emmett Strong and single mom Zara Olsen’s story and what a fabulous story it was.
Their children JoJo and Nolan almost steal the book out from under their parents as they had some of the best lines in the book.
A chance meeting at a coffee shop is the start of Emmett and Zara’s adventures and when they continue to meet, could it be the universe showing them the path it has in store for them? Meeting again at Daisy and Riley’s New Year’s Eve party, Emmett and Zara get hot and heavy together , but is that all it is?
Badly burnt by his ex wife’s lies and betrayal Emmett has no intention of opening himself up to love again, or allowing his daughter JoJo to get hurt. That is until fate steps in and keeps putting Zara in his path.
I loved how fate kept giving Emmett and Zara the chance to meet and connect with one another. Despite themselves, neither Emmett or Zara can ignore the smoldering chemistry and growing feelings that sizzle between them.
There were times when I laughed and times where I wanted to cry. Emmett frustrated me a great deal at times with his one step forward, two steps back behaviour and I admired Zara’s willingness to stand up to him and call him on his behaviour.
I love that we see other members of the club pop up throughout the story; the camaraderie and friendships amongst the men and the women they fall in love with is heart warming.
Will Emmett be prepared to take a chance on love again? Or will his fear of commitment push Zara away once and for all?
New years will never be the same for Dr. Emmett Strong and Zara Olsen. They have a hilarious first encounter at the coffee shop, then she makes a trip at the emergency room and a visit at her flower shop and finally at the same new year’s eve singles party! Call it serendipity, kismet, chance encounters or karma. They are faithed to be together, their children Jojo and Nolan adore each other the second they meet. This is a beautiful story of loss, both had bitter divorces but Zara is ready to move forward but Emmett is still bitter. Can she challenge him enough for forever? Their chemistry is quite hot and their banter so much fun to read. I love these Single dad’s story and I can’t wait for the next one to fall!
Life as a single dad can be rough. Especially when you want to protect your child and mate your own heart. Emmet is one such as this. He meets Zara by chance in a coffee shop then again and again and again. Fate may not exist but it sure seems like it with these two. Emmet though has to be willing to try again after his ex. He wants to be in that place but is he really? I liked Emmett but loved Zara. She knows what she won’t put up with. She knows where she’s like to go and I admire her for going after it. Quick read for me but I am loving all these single dads.
This is a great series with an interesting collection of single & now not so single dads. This time it’s Emmetts turn. A few of the dads are doctors all working at the same hospital. After his ex wife’s blindside he’s very jaded & sour & his main concern is his daughter Jojo.
Zara has had a relationship much like his. Her story is a bit more complicated. However they strike up an instant attraction at a coffee shop, then surprisingly meet again at her store & a New Years Eve matchmaking party hosted by mutual friends.
Of course Emmett does something stupid to put a dampener on their budding relationship & has to work hard to win her back.
If you’ve read the series so far this won’t disappoint.

It was interesting to see if other reviewers felt the same way I did about this book/series and they do. In so many reviews you read the word “fate” when it comes to Emmett and Zara. I’ve read all the books in this series except for the last one and I was so happy I didn’t miss Emmett’s story. Maybe I’m a bit of a grinch but I look more forward to New Year’s Day than Christmas. I think it’s an optimistic day and Emmett deserved a happy new year. The author knows I have a fondness for her ability to write fabulous men, even in her darker romances (which btw I love). So because I love Ms. Whitley’s male characters so much they deserve worthy women and Zara was a perfect partner for Emmett.

Whitley Cox has done it again! What a great book! The story of Emmett and Zara is so good! From how they meet to the different ways they connect throuhout the book. This book gives you all the emotions! A must read!!
What a fabulous addition to a wonderful series
dr Emmet meets florist Zara, or rather date through them together over and over, they were ment to be.
Both single parents with hurts from their exes, Zara was the calm Emmett needed ant they just evened each other out even their children met and became friends Independantly.
I lovely light hearted romance
Dr Emmett strong is a single dad to 6 yr old jo jo he’s been through heartbreak with his ex wife Tiff.
Zara Olsen owns the florist and is a believer in love despite her ex husband.
When fate throws them together with more in common than they expected the pull is real.
I liked the strong character of Zara putting him in his place but at the same time been caring.
I loved how protective Emmett is of jo jo but the fact he accepted his faults and was caring enough to know he needed to make changes.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Emmett’s New Years Eve starts with desperately needed breakfast and coffee. That is where Fate steps in and he meets the most attractive woman he has ever seen. Its not just her looks, its her confidence, her personality that has him mesmerized. Too bad the hurt from his divorce keeps him from trying to find true love. Zara’s life hasn’t gone exactly to plan but that hasn’t stopped her. After meeting Emmett Strong, she can’t get him off her mind. An attraction like this has never happened to her before. Can the magic of the New Years give them both a fresh start?
Another absolutely consuming Single Dad of Seattle; I loved it! Emmett is a good guy, he just still hasn’t worked through his pain from the divorce. He is in protection mode, for himself and his daughter. Zara is such a wonderful female character, she is quite possibly my favorite out all the previous heroines. She shines so bright and doesn’t hold back. When the two of them come together, they sparkle so bright. The dialogue between them, their kids just flowed so naturally and added another layer of delight to this tale. 10 stars for New Year’s with the Single Dad!
This is Book 6 in the Single Dads of Seattle series, I have waited for Emmetts story & this did not disappoint. Fate brings Zara into Emmett’s path four different times in one day with chemistry off the charts! Zara is also a single parent, a flower shop owner, & was equally hurt by her former spouse just like Emmett. She quickly falls for Emmett he’s funny, kind, he’s a great dad to his daughter Josie, & she gives into her attraction. Emmett gives into his attraction to Zara & then starts having second thoughts because he’s not in control in his tule ordered world & it causes lots of problems. Their kids love each other, Nolan & Jojo, you instantly fall in love with them & Nolan steps into the big brother role almost without realizing he’s doing it. You’ll love the story with the children as much as you’ll love the Love story between Emmett & Zara. The only sad part is realizing this is book 6 & there’s only 4 books remaining in this series. I loved this story with the New Year’s Eve party introduction with off the chart chemistry & a great HEA ending.
Book 6 of the Single Dad’s of Seattle series.
What a great group of single dad’s. Tight knit group of fun supportive friends and their loves.
The focus is Emmett and new friend single mom Zara.
The two meet and connect like long lost bffs.
Their kids even get along great! I enjoyed getting to know them and their kids.
Also more of the other single dad’s club are their loves. A great relaxing must read!
I was given a copy I am voluntarily giving my honest review.
This series of single dads is just simply one of the better ones I have read in a long time. The storyline is so certainly there and the characters are quite fantastic. Overall this story is a fun story to read and clearly one that I liked reading on a Sunday afternoon. It is neither long nor short, but somewhat just right. I am really glad to give this story beautiful four stars and hope you will enjoy reading it too.

Absolutely loved this book have been waiting to read Emmett’s story. Emmett & Zara notice each other in a coffee shop when they both order the exact same thing at the exact same time which makes them both laugh & there is an instant connection, they exchange names & flirt a little but then he gets a call & disappointedly he has to leave. A few hours she walks into the hospital with a cut hand & he immediately goes to help her, he isn’t looking for love but there is something about her that has him feeling differently & they start talking finding that they are both single parents. He goes with his daughter to a party at one of his best friends house to celebrate New Year’s Eve & it seems like fate when Zara arrives with her son. There is hot sexual chemistry & they give into their passion but Emmett is afraid to get too close or let anybody in that could hurt his daughter so pushes Zra away leaving her hurt & feeling used so leaves. He hates himself realising what he has done but can he bend his rules & let her in. This is a beautiful love story with a few bumps along the way & I was hooked from the start. I love this series & am already desperate to read the next one about Mason’s story.
I love this series. I loved Emmett’s story. This book pulled me bbn in from the beginning. Every page had me so involved I never moved from my chair. I loved the chemistry and characters, the story was written so well I could not get enough.
