A lot can happen in twenty-four hours …Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other’s backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Emmett’s story …Single dad of Seattle, Dr. Emmett Strong doesn’t believe in soulmates. Not since his ex-wife … soulmates. Not since his ex-wife blindsided him with divorce papers, breaking not just his heart, but his daughter’s, as well. Eighteen months later, it’s just the two of them and he intends to keep it that way. He won’t hurt Josie again by bringing another woman into her life. However, fate has other plans and on New Year’s Eve, sparks instantly fly when he bumps into the intriguing and beautiful Zara.
Single mom and flower shop owner, Zara Olsen, has no time–or patience–for wishy-washy men who can’t commit, so she’s definitely not going to fall for the unavailable doctor. But when Emmett keeps getting thrown into her path, and the two wind up at the same New Year’s Eve party, she wonders if fate is trying to tell her he’s not so unavailable after all. He’s funny and kind, the chemistry between them is sizzling and it’s almost midnight. It must be time for a kiss. But when she finally gives in to their attraction, she begins to regret it when Emmett starts acting strange.
Can Emmett set aside the past and reach for the bright future he could have with Zara, or will this New Year’s with the Single Dad end up being one Zara will remember, but would rather forget?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

I have said it before and I’m sure I will saying it again for me this series gets better with each release, I have loved all the single dads but oh my Dr Emmett Strong has taken this series to another level( if that really was possible) !!!!
This is Emmett Strong and Zara Olsen’s story and what an amazing tale they have to tell because this isn’t just about them their children JoJo and Nolan feature heavily in this book and I have say those kids have some classic one liners that left me smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
A chance meeting in a coffee shop line where Emmett and Zara surprisingly both order the same thing is where their story starts, could fate be putting them in the same place at the same time or will Emmetts fear of being burnt again ruin this relationship before it even starts ……
That’s all I’m telling you about this book because you need to read it without any preconceived ideas because you will get the best out of this story if you go in without any expectations. It’s a book that ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I smiled and I did a lot of swooning as I got to know this couple and their kids but even though this was a fantastic read the icing on the cake was catching up with other members of The Single Dads of Seattle. Each of these books can be read as stand-alone’s although I’m sure once you pick one book up you won’t want to stop there . Great addition to a great series.
Another beautiful story of one of the poker-playing Single Dads of Seattle! Dr. Emmet Strong’s experiences from breakfast New Year’s Eve until breakfast New Year’s Day make a long day not to be forgotten. He meets Zara Olsen five times, all pleasant surprises, except the breakfast planned on the second day by their children, JoJo and Nolin, who have also become fast friends. Cox does these tales so well, readers can’t help but fall in love with the kids and their parents as they navigate themselves through one of Daisy’s ultimate match-making parties entertaining single parents and their children. Lots of hot chemistry between Zara and Emmet turns frosty as he attempts to follow his rules to protect his and JoJo’s hearts. The smart doctor wises up swiftly to barely save the day leading to another HEA
I was so engaged in this wonderfully written storyline and the characters were so well created that as I turned each and every page I felt like Emmett and Zara yanked me right into their story as it effortlessly unfolded!
5 out of 5 stars for New Year’s With The Single Dad!
The 6th in The Single Dads of Seattle series, is another adventure with familiar faces and some new ones you’re going love! Zara and Emmett’s story is one of new found trust, love and inner strength that will inspire for future relationships.
Meeting someone once on a random day, is a chance encounter, meeting them twice, a coincidence, three times, well that is destiny telling them something.
Zara is a single mother to a little boy named Nolan, a kismet meeting at a coffee shop with the handsome and funny Dr. Emmett Strong leads to more than the same coffee shop order.
Dr. Emmett is still grieving the loss of his marriage, still not understanding what happened, why his wife left him, why she ended a marriage that he thought was happy and healthy. Still feeling that wound has left Emmett with trust issues with women, and a paranoia about women meeting his daughter, Jojo.
Through mutational friends, Zara and Emmett meet again at a New Year’s Eve party, and the chemistry between them on their third encounter is off the charts. After a slight scare with their children, misunderstandings ensue, feelings are hurt, and emotions run wild. Emmett pulls back and Zara feels the burn of this and heads home. Can Emmett pull his head together and realize what he has before it’s gone? Will Zara give him another chance?
I loved this story so much, the emotional vulnerability is so relatable, the characters are people I could be friends with. I really enjoyed and admired how Zara went after what she wanted, having a baby with her gay best friend, raising a child with love and understanding. Then with Emmett, finally having the courage to stand his ground and deal with the emotions he is going through. I can’t wait for what’s to come next!!
Too old for drama rule 4 ½ stars – I feel like this is shorter than the other books in the series. Nevertheless, I like the plot, the banter between Emmett and Zara when they first met, the steamy sex and Zara’s character steadfast rule on no drama. Jojo and Nolan are adorable and they provided some hilarious moments. It’s a very good story. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
How many times can two people encounter each other in one day and not believe in fate! Emmitt and Zara are perfect for each other in every way possible. This single dad goes down fast and hard and is a story you don’t want to miss out on!
These single dads of Seattle are successful, sweet and sexy! This story is about ER doctor, Emmett Strong. It has been some time, but he is still not over the hurt after being blindsided by his wife divorcing him. He is definitely not looking for a relationship and he has strict rules about brining any girl to meet his young daughter. However, a 24 hour period changes everything.
Zara owns a flower store near the hospital where Emmett works. They meet up accidentally on four different occasions in one day. It is New Years Eve and they have been invited to the same party. They both bring their kids, who turn into best friends quickly. It also seems that the kids aren’t the only ones who get close quickly too—Emmett and Zara have some strong chemistry!
Emmett needs to figure out what to do with these intense feelings and how to adjust to his rule of no woman meets his daughter right away. The other guys from the single dad group are also at the party and they have no problem telling Emmett what to do. These guys are really there to support each other, but they sure can kick each other’s butt in gear when needed.
This series is very enjoyable to read. Emmett’s story was a little shorter than the others, but it still is sweet and has its sexy moments. I am looking forward to the next book and Mason’s story.
Once again Whitley has written another fantastic book in the Single Dads of Seattle series! I loved it!
Emmett and Zara are great together! The way they kept meeting each other showed they were meant to be. Their chemistry was hot and their connection was undeniable. Their children became friends from the start. It was a wonderful story full of humor, drama, steamy sexiness and adorable kids that complete the story! It was another fantastic story in the Single Dads of Seattle series!
This is book six of the Single Dads of Seattle series. A story about Emmett and Zara. I started reading these books early in the series and I was hooked. The author, Whitley Cox, has the amazing knack for weaving the stories together, while allowing each to be a stand alone novel. It will, however, make you not want to miss any more of the books in the series. She makes the characters all interconnect and shows the single dads have a really great support group. I cannot wait for Valentines for the Single Dad. Thank you, Ms. Cox for bringing us on this journey with you.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.5 stars
This is the sixth book in the Single Dads of Seattle Series and Ms. Cox does not disappoint. This is Emmett’s story and what a whopper it is begging the question of how does one get over losing the love of one’s life? Enter Zara, a third-generation entrepreneur with a gift for knowing exactly how to get one’s message across via flowers. When Emmett meets Zara there is an immediate zing that has him paying attention and wanting more but fate giveth and fate taketh away…until they wind up at the same New Year’s Eve party. As they decide to indulge their attraction, all is well until their respective children enter the picture causing Emmett to backpedal and Zara to fall into some of her old demons. Is there hope for these two? You will just have to read and find out. Overall this is one fetching storyline although I would have preferred a bit more to the ending as it felt slightly abrupt. I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
