Is He worth it?

In this book we get to know Neal on a deeper level. I did like how the author shows him as a confused but kind man. He really does mean well when he says things to Wendy. It’s the way he says it that is easily misunderstood. He can sound abrasive at times and other times almost sincere. Being Wendy’s neighbor is like a roller coaster ride. That woman is always forgetting things, has a lot of cats and a stalker to complete the story.
I really liked the sessions Neal had and how he slowly became aware of his feelings. I thought it was very brave for Neal to decide to step out of his comfort zone and seek help. The author does write a more emotional journey as she peels away the surface and opens Neal up as a vulnerable person. Will he win Wendy over? Can she get past his unusual way of expressing himself to see the compassionate Neal?
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
When I begin reading a book by Chautona Havig, I know I will enjoy what I am reading.
In New Year Revolutions, we initially read the story of Christmas Stalkings from Neal’s perspective. Then it explores Neal recognizing he is falling for Wendy and examining the complications of a Christian and an atheist trying to have a relationship. It definitely deserves reading. So check out these two books for yourself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
This full-length novel gives readers a better understanding of Neal Kirkpatrick, who was introduced in Christmas Stalkings. These stories overlap, or I should say the time period and events from Christmas Stalkings is included within this book, told from Neal’s point of view. This one begins earlier and then fills in the rest of the story and his developing relationship with neighbor Wendy Nabity. Overcoming misunderstandings and miscommunications presents a struggle for both, but the journey he embarks on to try to understand her faith in God may just overturn his life. Hence the revolution in the title. I love the way his therapist helps him see things in new ways. The heart-tugging tale not only provides an intriguing story, it also offers plenty of material to ponder as the characters face various issues, including Neal’s confrontation with things he reads in the Bible. You’ll want to read both books for a complete picture of what happened at Christmastime. All opinions in this review are my own.
New Year’s Revolutions
This is book two to the novella “Christmas Stalkings.” Even though you could read it as a stand alone, I would suggest reading them in order so that you can grasp the full story. Here we find Neal as he is beginning to fall for Wendy. There is one big problem. She is a Christian, and he is an atheist. Okay, make that a monumental problem.
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in today’s world. Neal is rather a player. Without going into detail, the author shows Neal’s moral character by having him leave certain places or dates with a woman. He takes her back to her place or a hotel room.
Wendy and Neal are still the lovable two characters that we met in “Christmas Stalkings.” The author has done a great job with their characters. The dialog flows smoothly and sounds authentic. There are a few twists and turns to surprise readers.
Fortunately Neal undergoes a change of heart and transformation. It is one of the best lessons in the book. In fact, this book has many beautiful life and spiritual messages to glean. I highly recommend this book. It receives a 5 out of 5 star rating from me. I received a copy of this through Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own, honest ones.
Such a Character
We met Wendy and Neal in a different book and I had to get back and see what would happen in their story. They were both such dynamic characters in Christmas Stalkings that I immediately hoped for more books on them because I couldn’t just leave them.
No mystery in this book but lots of funny and maddening things. You learn about Neal and why he’s the way he is. Which is, umm, definitely a unique personality. You get to watch him try to be a normal person which is really funny and watch Wendy respond to that.
Great book! Definitely, one that you should have on your must-read pile. Maybe even one that should be read every year.

Chautona Havig has become one of my go to authors and among my favorites. New Year’s Revolutions does not disappoint. It is another fun and entertaining book by her. I liked having the opportunity to catching up with Neal, whom I met in the book, Christmas Stalkings. I was not too sure what I had originally thought of him at first but he started growing on me pretty quick. I liked watching him as a person throughout the book. He is one that can be relatable for many readers with some life lessons of second chances and forgiveness.
New Year’s Revolutions will be getting four and a half stars from me. I thought it was pretty good. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading books that are clean romance.
I received New Year’s Revolutions from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
