You know how they say closure helps? They’re wrong.Second chances don’t exist, do they?Austin: I was doing pretty good. Loving family, law school, job experience at a local law firm, and an incredibly handsome wolf shifter boyfriend. Until that same boyfriend decided to dump me, just before Christmas. Now, I’m heartbroken, I have to work with him every day and we’ve both been invited to the same … we’ve both been invited to the same New Year’s Eve party!
Daniel: I’ve made mistakes but breaking up with the love of my life a couple of days before Christmas has to be the worst. It’s agony without him, and it’s worse seeing him suffer every day. I threw the greatest thing I’ve ever known away because my family wouldn’t approve of me dating a fox shifter. Christmas was horrible and now New Year’s Eve is likely to be even worse.
The clock is ticking. New Year’s Eve is just round the corner. Can shifters, Austin and Daniel find a way back to each other or will the new year bring a fresh start…alone.

I really enjoyed this book. Daniel and Austin realize that their love is more important then the hurt they been through and what anyone thinks.
This is a second chance romance and I feel like the story of these two was burried by lots of other details that didn’t seem relevant to the story. The writing was really good and I normally enjoy books by this author so I kept going and I’m glad I did because I enjoyed the sweet ending. I kind of wished to have seen them before the break up scenes or maybe have there be more flashbacks of them being in love. I didn’t feel like I was reading a romance until he very end. The author did do a good job at portraying how the break up effected both characters though.Daniel is a wolf shifter in love with a fox shifter who his parents won’t approve of and follows his insecurities instead of his heart. Eventually daniel realizes what he lost and hope he can be what Austin needs him to be to win back his love. Austin is left heart broken after being dumped by his boyfriend before the holidays for a reason he saw as unjustified. This was a short read so I finished it rather quickly but struggled a bit through the middle of it.
Can love overcome family angst in time for New Years?
What a vibrant world Espen has created. The characters grabbed me from the first pages and didn’t let me go. I was drawn into their drama, caring about what happens to them. This book has heartache, misunderstandings, regrets, a well-meaning friend, a controlling father, enduring love, courage and HEA.You will love this book!

New Year, Second Chance by Espen Arcadia is a m/m romance with shifters. Austin and Daniel are great characters who clearly love one another but need to overcome some obstacles and realize what really matters in life. The story has drama and romance… it’s fun and sweet. Definitely recommend
Well, timing could have been better. You could see Austin and Daniel made a good pair. You could understand the ‘why’. I liked Austin. He was a nice brave guy. Daniel was a nice guy, trying to be a good son. He should have tried harder to be a good man. Does he ever stand up to his dad? Does he ever stand up to himself? It ended abruptly and I wanted to read more about them as a couple. Good story. Good Christmas story. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Daniel struggled, he really liked Austin, his family were against the relationship, so he listened to them and dumped the only person he had feelings for, it was the wrong time of the year. Lots of emotions up and down.

It was a pleasure to read this delightful, second-chance MM shifter romance. This plot is interesting & has a quite emotional start, making sure that the reader’s attention is firmly kept. The characters continue to develop throughout the story-line to become emotional strong individuals who love each other.
There is: a male wolf shifter (Daniel) breaks up with his boyfriend (Austin, a fox shifter) because of family disapproval & realizes that he made a terrible mistake, various kinds of shifters, a law firm, friendship, drama, family issues, prejudices, insecurities, heartache, emotional turmoil, regrets, co-workers, insults, disagreements, memories, compromises, disapproval, frustration, declarations, love, some steam & a satisfying conclusion.
This shifter m/m romance started off tragic from the start but was so satisfying to read until the end. Daniel the wolf had some insecurities and ended up breaking Austin the fox heart. It was wonderful seeing these two guys work out their issues and finally come together at the end. Their banter and intimate times together was enjoyable to read. It goes to show that it doesn’t matter what gender and species(in this case) love is love. I absolutely loved this story and now a fan of Espen Arcadia

Seeing Daniel struggle with his feelings while Austin found himself hurt and somewhat broken filled the story with emotions. Watching the emotional war going on between them gave this story angst, finally seeing Daniel stand up, earnestly seek Austin again, filled the pages with hope. It was easy to really feel for the characters. It was easy to rejoice with them as they found they were better together regardless of the opposite. I felt I wanted more closure with the Steven situation and the trial Daniel was working on so perhaps, and hopefully, a continuation is on its way. This is in no way criticism because the book was good, just hopeful. I would definitely enjoy a little more of our hero’s company.
