After thirteen years together, Malcolm and Embry are all too familiar with their differences. Malcolm is free-spirited and spontaneous while Embry prefers having everything planned out. A road trip to spend Thanksgiving with Embry’s family is met with a broken-down car, an unfamiliar town filled with amazing people, and one very interesting store that leads to a bet which could change their lives … their lives forever.
This year, Malcolm and Embry share a Thanksgiving like no other and discover that, even though they’ve been together for thirteen years, it’s never too late for some new tricks.

New Tricks is part of a multi-author series of books that take place in the same fictional town. Each story can be read in any order. The connecting element in the Ace’s Wild series is an adult store owned by Ace and Wilder. The main characters from each book will make at least one visit to Ace’s Wild, where they’ll buy a toy to use in their story! The only characters who crossover to each book are Ace and Wilder. And with various heat levels, there’s sure to be something for everyone!

I loved this story. What I really loved was, this was about an established couple. Malcolm and Embry have been a couple for 13 years and through an adventure on the way to Embry’s parents for Thanksgiving, they learn new things about each other. This story packs so much into its 100 pages, from laughter to tears and a little kink and angst for good measure. Another five star story from Davidson King.
I love this author’s writing and when she had a story in the Ace’s Wild series I jumped in to reading it! Vintage Ridge is such a magical place where new couples find each other or the case of Malcom and Embry rediscover their passion with help of the Ace and Wilder’s adult store in town. Mal keeps Em from getting inside his head and spiraling and Em keeps Mal on schedule. They are just perfect for each other and they balance each other out. On their trip to Florida to see Em’s estranged parents for Thanksgiving they break down in Vintage Ridge. Will Embry spiral leaving Mal to figure it out on his own? Will Thanksgiving be ruined? I highly recommend this book!!
These two were definitely a favorite so far for me in this series. The love they already had for one another after being together for thirteen years only grew more as they were left stranded in Vintage Ride for the Thanksgiving holiday. A sweetly, hot story by a new author for me.
I loved everything about this sweet and spicy story. I really enjoyed that this story is about a well established couple. Mal and Em have been together for years but it’s never to late to learn some new tricks. What better place that Ace’s Wild to find all that you need.
These two guys are just perfectly imperfect for each other. The ying to the other’s yang. They bring balance to each other in the best possible way. I loved the connection they had, they truly are each other’s love.
This story is full of wonderful secondary characters that add so much love and acceptance to Mal and Em’s life. Bonus points for that amazing epilogue. I know I will be revisiting these boys many times!
Learn to Fly
I never know what to expect when I begin a book by Davidson King except that I’m going to fall in love with her characters, and New Tricks was no exception. I love the town of Vintage Ridge and the people in it. Ace and Wilder never fail to make me laugh and poor Santa. Sounds like he has an uphill battle on his hands. I think having a personal cheering squad could be interesting.
Embry and Malcolm are imperfectly perfect together. They are each other’s center, and it’s beautiful. Mal loves and accepts Embry exactly as he is and Embry, well, he makes my heart break but he also makes me laugh. His family angers me and makes me thankful he has Malcolm. Speaking of, I like Mal’s snake humor. “You take all my burdens, pain, worries, and frustrations, and do away with them.” Seeing Embry learn to fly was breathtaking, sexy and smoking hot. Sometimes what we fear and believe to be the worst thing in the world becomes the best gift we have ever received.
Best Thanksgiving dinner ever! It had all the feels and I mean all of them. I am so proud of Embry and his hosts. They all need hugs, so many hugs. The ending made my heart soar and Em has amazing taste in gifts. Davidson King makes me laugh, cry, sigh with happiness but most of she makes me love.
