A sad but hopeful romance set in Shady Piers, touches the heart and makes one grateful for the blessings we have. It is also a lesson in the value of communication between couples. Everett lost his wife in an accident, but a part of him died with her. When he discovers the secret she was carrying, he is devastated. Holly’s advent in his life sparks new life and hope but it is a reciprocal relationship as Everett also brings affirmation and redemption to Holly’s situation. This is an emotional story but one that brings hope. The book is part of a series and characters from previous novels appear in this one as well. It nevertheless is a standalone and has a happy ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this fast read about Everett and Holly. During this book, some secrets come out and love shines through in the end. No spoilers, but I recommend this newest addition in the Shady Piers books.
Everett lives to remember his wife since she died in an accident.
Holly goes back to Shady Piers after the scandal she caused at his boyfriend party.
Although I liked a lot the two previous books in the series, I think this one is not so good as them. This doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it, because I did.
The first half of the book is too slow and nothing happens. However, the second part is quite good with twists and turns that enhance the interest in the story. I like the end of the story because I didn’t see it coming. So 3.5 stars.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
What a delightful little book. The author delivers a very true to life story of people mourning of the death of a loved one and someone who goes through a very public breakup. In the story, Everett Sullivan a shell of a man after the death of his wife, Sarah. He works in the library where she worked but he isn’t living just doing the motions. Then one day, Holly Burke walks into the library and he starts to feel things he hasn’t felt in a very long time. Holly also has her issues since she came back to this small town after a very public break up in New York City. Both of them start having feelings for each other and want to really get to know each other as well.
This is in the Shady Piers Romance series and can be read as a stand alone.
Another fantastic book from Alicia Best! This one is a little different from the others I have read by this author. However, it is still a wonderful sweet and clean romance set in Shady Piers. This tells of heartbreak, living in the past, disaster, love, forgiveness and fresh starts. A shorter read with a great storyline. I couldn’t put it down and I highly recommend it!
A well written short sweet story with a perfect ending. The story includes danger, mystery laughs and alot of forgiveness while learning to move on from grief and previous mistakes. Both Holly and Everett had different issues they need to overcome while fate brings them together. Holly fleeing from an ungly public breakup, wanders into the library that Everett is trying to keep open that his deceased wife loved so much. A wonderfully romatic read. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC.
A nice, sweet story that can be easily read in an afternoon. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
This was a short and sweet romance and I enjoyed it.
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
This book was a slow start for me, but than picked up and was good with surprises to the end. I think why it was hard for me to get started was because of the loss of spouse 6 yrs earlier. I also lost my spouse 6 yrs ago, so that may be why I had a hard time staying with it at first.
I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving my review.
Heartwarming story of starting over. A welcome addition to the Shady Piers, Maine stories by Alicia Best. This touching story centers around Holly and Everett’s journey to healing. They both suffered traumatic events and needed to learn to forgive themselves. Ultimately they find love and peace again. I loved the characters and recommend it. An easy read. I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily writing my review
I enjoyed the characters, the h and H were people you could care about. They both suffered loss/pain due to there faults, but in end moved on and forgave the people who hurt them or let them down. Nice clean sweet romance. I received an advance copy of this novella and I voluntarily write a honest review.
This short story about two wounded people starting over is wonderfully done. The characters and emotions felt natural and realistic and I was immersed in Holly and Everett’s story immediately. I received an arc of this story and voluntarily left an honest review.
Prepare for sadness, laughter, struggles and joy as your read this third book in the Shady Piers series. Holly and Everett are both weighed down by past experiences but the timing is perfect for them as they learn together how to move forward. I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about Shady Piers. I love Alicia’s development of her characters and the descriptions of a town where almost anyone would want to live. Everett and Holly’s story is about healing from past devastation and how to move forward. It is a sweet, clean story that I wasn’t ready to have end. I want more. Thank you, Alicia for another great Shady Piers story!
New Page is a short, sweet story about forgiveness and moving on from grief and past mistakes. Although this is the third Shady Piers book is is also a delightful stand-alone story. Everett and Holly have very different issues to overcome. Can they find a way to help each other? This gentle romance is cleverly written and although it is fairly short it does not feel rushed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A widowed man who won’t let go of the past, a publicly humiliated woman who runs to safety, and an old library where they meet. The hurts of the past are hard to release, but together these two find a way to heal. A very good book showing how we tend to get stuck in our sorrow and how necessary it is to move past it.
Thought this was a touching story as well as a romance. This author writes easy to read books that are interesting.
I received this book to give a honest review.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review. This was a beautiful romantic story about Everett and Holly. They were both recovering from past relationships so got off to a bumpy start, but love won in the end. The ending was perfect. This is my favorite kind of book and Alicia did a great job writing their story. I know you will enjoy reading this book. I look forward to reading more books by Alicia Best.
this is a story about forgiveness and what can happen when you lose someone. you can learn to forgive yourself or let anger take over . Holly helps others to see that they can move on
