Book Two in a Complete Series (all stand-alone titles) for Romance Readers Who Love Dogs! When former attorney and current dog whisperer Shane Kilcannon messes up his chance with a beautiful stranger, he’s ready to snarl like one of his beloved pitbulls. But Shane’s work with the wildest and wariest of his family’s rescue dogs has taught him patience and persistence. When his father hands him the … When his father hands him the opportunity to work alongside that very same woman who has come to town with groundbreaking tourism plans, he seizes it. He even offers to help her win over the locals, as long as she is willing to give a temporary home to one misunderstood dog…and spend plenty of time with Shane.
Chloe Somerset has built a reputation in the tourism industry as someone with big ideas that put little places on the map, and she’s certain she can do the same for Bitter Bark, North Carolina. All she has to do is convince one small town to change its name, open her clean-freak heart to a dog with a penchant for face-licking, and avoid the landmines of local politics when her plans divide the townspeople. But none of that is as scary as the feeling of falling hard for a sexy charmer who whispers all the right things and tempts Chloe to forget a lifetime of hard lessons. Shane might know exactly how to get through to the creatures who need care the most, but he’s met his match with Chloe, and it’ll take every trick he knows to teach her to fall in love.
The Dogfather Series

Daniel Kilcannon is known as “The Dogfather” for a reason. It’s not just his renowned skills as a veterinarian, his tremendous love of dogs, or the fact that he has turned his homestead in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains into a world-class dog training and rescue facility. Ask his six grown children who run Waterford Farm for him, and they’ll tell you that their father’s nickname is due to his uncanny ability to pull a few strings to get what he wants. And what he wants is for his four sons and two daughters to find the kind of life-changing love he had with his dearly departed wife, Annie. This old dog has a few new tricks…and he’ll use them all to see his pack all settled into their happily ever afters!

You want to know this family better. While the story has some parts that are the tried and true romance incidents, it also has unexpected incidents that require working through by all parties. As always, loved all the dogs. Will read the other books involving this family.
This is the 2nd in a series but a standalone read with a HEA. Sex is on the lower end of the scale. There are a few steamy scenes but not real explicit. Shane, the flirty, sexy, lawyer turned dog trainer meets the future Mrs. Shane!! he just doesn’t know it yet. Chloe, a Miami gal is in their small town to help them turn the town into a vacation destination in order to help the economy. They both have a lot of issues to work through to find their HEA. This is a fun, light-hearted read. There are a couple of tear-jerking moments and no, no dogs died in this story!! It is a good read and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the book. The dog star of this book is Daisy, an American Staffordshire terrier. I was especially drawn in because we have a pup, Daisy, and she is 1/4th Staffie. So I learned a lot about the breed and how my doggie will be effected by that bit of DNA. A good read, very entertaining.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/9/18
I enjoyed this book
Love this new series!!!!!
This is Shane’s story and full of all the feels you can handle and then some! Shane is a former corporate attorney who has returned to Bitter Bark to help run the family business. Chloe Somerset is new to town and has been brought as a tourism consultant to bring life to town. A chance encounter and some flirting and wham Chloe has her idea to change the name of the town. These two together are something special and add in a special dog and the chemistry oozes off the pages. I am truly enjoying this series and looking forward to getting to know more of this wonderful family!
I highly recommend this book!
