FBI agent Cookie James is enjoying her extended leave from the agency on Secret Seal Isle, managing her quaint inn and flirting with the oh-so sexy-handyman, Dylan Creed…until her sixty-year-old mother goes skinny dipping and is almost drowned by a corpse.A phone call to the sheriff should mean the end of Cookie’s involvement, but when it’s clear the sheriff has no interest in the investigation, … investigation, Cookie calls in reinforcements…her ex-partner Hunter O’Neil. Suddenly it’s like old times while the pair questions the residents of Secret Seal Isle. Except it’s not. Now she has both Hunter and Dylan vying for her attention, a wayward hippy mother, and a potential killer on the loose.
With her love life heating up, her mother lighting up, and all signs pointing to the most unlikely suspect, Cookie does the only thing she knows to do—focus on solving the case.

Enjoyed the plot and characters.
I am not too sure about the ending! There must be a sequel!
Very easy read for a quiet afternoon or early morning
Cookie James certainly has her hands full dealing with her “hippie” mom, Rain, and her ex-partner, Hunter. I enjoyed the interaction with these characters, as well as hunky handyman, Dylan.
It was nice having some comic relief in what was also a real mystery to be solved. Nice balance. Enjoyable read.
Fun read
simplistic writing style
Very easy read and entertaining.
Just a little too unrealistic. A girl gotta keep it together to keep them wondering. Too whorish.
A little slow but ok story
A fine who done it novel, that kept me reading until the FBI determined who the guilty party was!
Great plot! Loved it
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this book. Character development, dialog and story line were weak.
Fast, easy reading. Likable characters.
Fun,light reading. Well written.
Tiring sexual enuendoes, over bearing detectives. Writing was fairly good.
This is in the realm of ‘cozy’ with the main protagonist a FUN agent in a leave of absence due to a “mob case gone bad”. This then gives her some credibility for investigation of a body that washed ashore. The character development in this volumn is weak with the character seeming consumer by her romantic life. The conflict between the two main make characters is plausible but often feels contrived due to all the holes left to be (supposed) filled by following volumns. The book is light an interesting but not the best in procedural. I would give this 3.5 stars.
Good read.
A great read
Just ok
A quick and enjoyable read.
