FBI agent Cookie James is enjoying her extended leave from the agency on Secret Seal Isle, managing her quaint inn and flirting with the oh-so sexy-handyman, Dylan Creed…until her sixty-year-old mother goes skinny dipping and is almost drowned by a corpse.A phone call to the sheriff should mean the end of Cookie’s involvement, but when it’s clear the sheriff has no interest in the investigation, … investigation, Cookie calls in reinforcements…her ex-partner Hunter O’Neil. Suddenly it’s like old times while the pair questions the residents of Secret Seal Isle. Except it’s not. Now she has both Hunter and Dylan vying for her attention, a wayward hippy mother, and a potential killer on the loose.
With her love life heating up, her mother lighting up, and all signs pointing to the most unlikely suspect, Cookie does the only thing she knows to do—focus on solving the case.

I very much liked this start into a new series. Cookie is an ex FBI agent becoming innkeeper on a tiny island in Maine. A great uncommon background for a cozy mystery sleuth. Loved the humor and the mystery. I have the next installment on my kindle and will keep reading about Cookies adventures.
Waiting to start her next book!
Great read!!!
Cookie James’ mother finds a corpse in the ocean outside their inn and the local deputy has no interest in pursuing an investigation. Not to be deterred, Cookie, an FBI agent, starts her own investigation.
Set on a small island off the coast of Maine, “New Corpse In Town” artfully blends an intriguing murder mystery with some romance and a cast of unusual secondary characters.
An enjoyable, whimsical read. Recommended for anyone who likes cozy mysteries.
I enjoyed getting lost in a cozy mystery. You could not predict all the twists and turns though out the story.
Enjoyed book
New Corpse In Town
(Secret Seal Isle Mysteries #1)
by Lucy Quinn
This is a fun mystery with crazy characters, sexy guys, and a good plot. Sprinkles of humor thrown in made it an enjoyable short read! A first in the series and it certainly made me want to continue it!
Not sure what happened – this book had such a good premise but I couldn’t really get into it.

I liked the story but Cookie’s mother left me with a disgusted feeling. I am thinking really hard about wether I will continue the series or not.
Love each of her books
Oh, I so love Cookie and Rain and toss in the hotness of Dylan and Hunter and you get a hilarious cozy mystery to wish a splash of potential steaminess.
Cookie is awesome as an Inn Keeper and an FBI agent even if she is on leave and hiding out.
Rain Forest, Cookies loving, free-spirited, hippy mum is just awesome and I love her special talent for helping everyone relax.
Dylan the island hotty handyman, there is a lot more to Dylan than meets the eye and I am looking forward to finding out more about him.
Hunter, Cookies former FBI partner who wants to partner with Cookie in other ways, but Hunter has a reputation as a player and Cookie is not interested in a one night stand no matter how hot Hunter is.
Great characters, awesome mystery with great twists, turns and spins to keep you guessing and some really funny laugh out loud moments
Pick this one up for a great read.
A mystery man , a mystery, a murder, a hippie colony,a bit of Herbal Activity, a lot of adventure and all on a little island. What more does any reader want? Oh, yes, and a little eye candy.
Lucy Quinn’s NEW CORPSE IN TOWN in the first in the Secret Seal Isle Mystery series. We meet a fun, interesting cast of characters involved in finding a body and solving the murder. Cookie’s (more than interesting) mother literally bumps into the body in the water. As a former FBI agent, Cookie does not believe the local deputy will find justice for the deceased. She calls Hunter, her former partner to help solve the case. Everybody on the small island knows everything about everyone. NEW CORPSE IN TOWN is a quick, easy read.
The FBI agent is hiding out from the mob with a new name, a new job running a small inn on an island in Maine, and her unrepentant hippie mother making her nutz. Then a body washes up on the shore in at the back of the inn but the lackluster deputy just blows it off as an accident with no evidence or interest. So she gets in touch with the hottie who is her former partner who speeds to the rescue looking all Men In Black taking charge and the sparks begin to fly, especially as she had been getting friendly with her contractor.
Lots of laughs over the antics of the mom who has absolutely no filters. This is a fun book, not a police procedural.
Traci Odom manages to accomplish the narration without totally cracking up!
this book is the best give it a try if you have not read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forgettable.
AWFUL!
Great easy read cozy mystery
I wasn’t impressed by the story.
